Yuri on Ice interview translation - Animage 2017/01 (p20-23)

I was going to post this last week but gave priority to the BD stuff. This will be the final interview from the booklet that came with January Animage! There’s still an interview with Kenji Miyamoto left untranslated, but it will be taken care of by @whiteboxgems whenever she has time! I’ll reblog it when it’s around.

This is actually 2 interviews, I’m posting them together because they were one after the other and (main reason) because the second one is very short.
A few notes below to better understand the interviews.

The first one is with Yuuichirou Hayashi, the one who created the ending (ED = ending by the way) footage. I have the feeling someone previously posted translations of the captions under the ED screenshots, but I don’t remember where and I’m pretty sure it was just the captions and not the interview parts, so here you have it complete. This one is pretty interesting because he explains in detail how they created the ED, and has some extra information on cut scenes etc. Definitely a must read in my opinion!

The second one is a short interview with Kayoko Ishikawa, the one who did the costume designs. Here you might think: didn’t Chacott design the costumes? I’ll explain. It’s more or less like with Mitsurou Kubo and Tadashi Hiramatsu: Kubo created the original designs for the characters, from scratch, and Hiramatsu transformed them into designs specifically created for animation, therefore with simpler lines, detailed expression sheets and so on. Likewise, Chacott did the original designs for the costumes, from scratch, based on the indications by Yamamoto and Kubo, and then the anime’s costume designer simplified and modified them so that they would be suitable to be animated. (Before actually animating them there’s a further step: the anime’s color designer is going to decide the exact colors, shadows and highlights included, that will be used inside the anime. I translated an interview with the color designer Izumi Hirose some time ago)

I usually don’t add pictures but this time I felt that it would be better to add them as an immediate reference. However, they are just for reference and are not meant to be visually stunning, so please bear with the quality because I just took photos of the magazine with my phone and quickly edited them.

Translation under the cut! (kind of image-heavy)

Klaine Advent Drabble - “Amenities and Perks” (Rated T)

Kurt despises using the communal laundry room in the basement of his apartment building … but after meeting a charming young man (who’s not afraid to show a little skin), Kurt might just change his mind. (1899 words)

Meet cute AU. Written for the Klaine Advent Drabble prompt ‘charm’ and dedicated to my husband - he should know why ;)

Read on AO3.

Communal laundry room.

Those three words strung together make Kurt’s skin crawl.

He may be a little “high maintenance” when it comes to certain things, but he doesn’t consider himself a snob. However, there are two spaces he hates sharing (with people he doesn’t know) more than anything in the world – bathrooms and laundry rooms. Too much personal, intimate stuff happens in those two rooms, much of which surrounds underwear, so he’d rather not get too many strangers involved.

Ok, so I decided to make this it’s own post because I feel it’s really important to actual canon in wizard101 , and I know not everyone saw this because it was a response to a response on one of my own posts, so yea. I spent THREE AND A HALF HOURS writing and composing this things, so I would appreciate it if it was shared and read about, thanks!

(original post can be found here, in response to stormsharknado ‘s response to this original post)

It’s weird though, because In khrysalis (part 2 i think) we see one of the Goliath Bugs be transformed back into a regular mantis by the usage of these crystals and a machine… why couldn’t we do the same with morganthe? I know she’s the Queen of Shadow, but i think will a little more horse power or whatever we could have somehow removed all the hatred and shadow from her heart.

I do feel for Morganthe sometimes because it seems like she was under some incredible stress, or was mentally manipulated by others a lot, and that’s how she acquired this “big bad evil queen” muse; it was how she decided to cope with the stuff she went through, by delving into things she shouldn’t have at an unsafe route.

I’m not even making this stuff up like, Merle Ambrose (who probably personally trained her from a young age) said that she disappoints him, both before and after Malory’s death.

Here’s dialogue from Ghost Avalon where Morganthe was reading through books containing forbidden knowledge:

And then again before she was banished for “toying with astral magic”:

Morganthe’s entire world revolves around magic. She has a line of dialogue where she says she “can’t live without (her) magic”. She adores it, and she knows she’s good at it, but she also hates failure. Why does she hate failure? Because she doesn’t want to disappoint Ambrose.

But the weird thing is, instead of encouraging Morganthe to explore her talent with magic at a safe rate, Merle and them kinda… enclose her from it, they protect ” her from it in a way.

Now this is where it gets even weirder:
