Attention guys!!!!!!!!

I’m doing this for my dear friend @tedbundy whose posts have been getting stolen from another blog here

¬ rebvodkabundyandfriends ¬

PLEASE EVERYONE. DO NOT REBLOG any Ted Bundy informational posts from that particular blog,as they are all copied and pasted from the original source @tedbundy. My friend has spent so much time on making all those posts for everyone here and also money on all the books/rare Ted Bundy sources that most of you here haven’t even heard about. So IT IS NOT RIGHT to ignore that fact. PLEASE THIS IS A REQUEST to all my followers. GIVE CREDITS TO THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE POSTS. She deserves that because she is the most dedicated person on the Ted Bundy case I’ve ever seen anywhere.

Thank you all!

My mom thinks that AutismSpeaks is the only autism organization with real info and "pure" intentions.. Like wtf. How do I explain to her how horrible it is? She isn't listening.

Here’s a post that goes over most of the shit AutismSpeaks has been through but also highlights the fact that they supported the literal torture of a mentally disabled kid in order to “cure him”. There’s even links to all the evidence and sources and news articles and even a link to the video of the poor kid being harmed (so tw for that)

Here’s a post where it shows they support literal neo-nazi organizations.

Here’s a post where it gives more info as to the shit they’ve done in regards to calling autistic people “monsters” and wanting “autism to die”.

And make sure to tell your mom that if she continues to support this organization, that she’s literally supporting those who sponsored neo-nazis and the torture of a fucking child.

Tell her to, instead, support the official DSM5 manual and other autism organizations (like the Autism Self Advocacy Network).

Hopefully she comes through.

I'm trying to explain to someone that Israel is a dystopian af apartheid state. Could you uh maybe if you feel like it point me to something explainy on restricted movements bit? I remember you posting about it b/c of an ask you got about why you were sad you couldn't go visit a specific building as it. But if you don't feel like it, that's okay. Current events being the awfulness that they are.

It’s not dystopian, it’s an actual reality. Even Desmond Tutu, a South African man who lived under and fought against South African apartheid, agrees. There’s also a literal wall around Jerusalem, so.

As for restricted movement sources:

As for my anecdote, I’m a West Bank citizen with a green ID who can’t visit any Israeli lands without a permit. I applied for a permit last time and was rejected, applied again and was granted 3 days stay, but that was after a month of effort. Israel has the right to revoke these permits at any time and for any reason.

There are checkpoints in the West Bank and between the West Bank and Israel. The IDF is notorious for being abusive and cruel towards Palestinians at these checkpoints, and have the authority to turn them back for no reason at all (a case that got attention recently was that of a pregnant woman at a checkpoint, on her way to the hospital to give birth, who was turned away. The woman gave birth at the checkpoint and lost the child). They also set up roadblocks to force cars to go to checkpoints.

anonymous asked:

I'm surprised you're an engineer. How do you find time to study history and which sources (well, at least some) do you use to do so?

There’s no real answer as to how I find time other than it interests me. Fortunately, my JSTOR account is still good, and my university account is as well, so I have access to a wealth of academic papers and a good search engine to power through them. These form one of the cornerstones of my research methods. When it comes to history, I also try to read at least one primary source, often a journal or diary, because it gives a sense of the experiences as they happened. It’s not always possible, and you must take them with a grain of salt, especially when it comes to critical decisions that the other has a vested interest in ensuring a particular interpretation, but observing things from a distance I find is not very fair to the people who lived through events as they happened, as we don’t give them the fair sense of understanding where their minds were at the time.

When I was in the military, I studied a lot about radicalism given that such people were my primary enemy. A lot of that pertains to Islamist radicals, but the same concepts are easy to apply to radicals and revolutionaries of all stripes, religious and secular, totalitarian and anarchic. Politics is much the same. I’ve studied politics before I was ever in the service, but since politics determines the enemy and the state of combat, it’s important to study them, especially foreign policy as that is a significant determinant to the mission and the state of the armed forces. Aside from the sources I’ve already referenced when it comes to radicalism and politics, I would recommend Hannah Arendt’s “The Origins of Totalitarianism” and Eric Hoffer’s “The True Believer” as excellent sources for study.

Thanks for the question, Anon.

Editing the source post since I’m getting a lot of asks as to what’s happening: I’m just playing back an animation. This is a x15 timelapse so that’s why it looks kinda weird. It normally doesn’t. This memory leak happens on literally anything you do. When I discovered it I thought it was just undos and redos, then I realized it also happened (at sonic speed) when playing back anims.

This is an issue specific to 3ds Max 2016. I don’t know if it happens in 2015, but I know for sure it doesn’t happen in 2014, which I’m going to stick with.

The model has 50 bones, uses a CAT rig, has 3475 triangles and its material uses two 512x512 TGAs (color & normal map).

P.S. the music is from UNDERTALE, please stop sending me messages about it (and I won’t tell you which tracks because you should play the game)

Serving Fish

Victo Ngai

Latest art for a short novel “Serving Fish” by Christopher Caldwell, published in the current issue of People of Color Take Over Fantastic Stories of the Imagination (FSI).

Be sure to check out this fascinating story packed with drama, love and revenge about a very feminine drag queen who gains her power of enchantment from the most unlikely source, and in exchange of this power, she has to offer up a bit of herself.

Big thanks to Nisi Shawl, who is the author of “Everfair” which I have had the great pleasure of creating the cover for, for thinking of me for this project and the full creative range. Thank you also Warren Lapine, the publisher of FSI, for being so easy and wonderful to work with.

  • Winston: Your criminal records have also been expunged. However, I have to warn you against breaking any laws in the future.
  • Junkrat: Question. What if I see something that I wanna take and it belongs to someone else?
  • Winston: Then you will be arrested.
  • Junkrat: But what if I want it more than the person who has it?
  • Winston: Still illegal.
  • Junkrat: That doesn’t follow. No, I want it more, sir. Do you understand me? [Roadhog laughs] What are you laughing at? What? I can’t have a discussion with this gentleman?
  • Roadhog: What if someone does something that irks me and I decide to remove his spine?
  • Winston: That’s… that’s actually… murder. One of the worst crimes of all, so… also illegal.
  • Roadhog: Hmm.

One of my sims is legitimately being stalked by her ex.

The man in the background is Bob Pancakes. He and Eliza are divorced and they can’t stand each other. They separated before their child was born, Bob moved out, and Eliza was going to raise their daughter alone without letting her so much as ever meet Bob.

So I’m playing as normal, and suddenly Bob just.. walks in through the back door. He does not live here. I purposefully moved him to a smaller house across the street and marked him as unplayed. Sims can’t just enter other people’s houses, and there’s supposed to be an option to tell visitors either “Goodbye” or “Ask to Leave”.

Bob has none of those options.

He did have a “Go Away” interaction, which made him wander off and stand on one of the balconies. I didn’t want him to interfere with this family, so I took precautions.

This gave me some time to think about my options.

I’d never intended to play him again, so I could just leave him trapped until he died. After a day had passed, occasionally checking on him, he was extremely stinky and only able to stand there playing games on his phone. I felt bad and instead told Eliza to quick travel to his house, with him in tow.

Entering his household to check on him, he immediately fell asleep on the pavement. Fine. He could take care of himself from there.

Switching straight back to Eliza, she carried on doing her single parent thing, meanwhile I locked the front and back door COMPLETELY to seal them inside the house for the time being. Eliza doesn’t have a career so there was no reason to even leave for the next day or so. I also added a lot trait for ‘Private Dwelling’ to reduce visitors. She and her toddler went to sleep, and when I tried to put the game on fast-forward, I realised it wasn’t doing the high superspeed it usually does when all Sims are asleep. There was nobody else in the house. Then I checked the back garden.

Bob was back. He had not showered. Unable to actually enter the house, he sat on the patio and wandered around all night long. The Pancakes house has a barbeque, so he continually made himself food on it. Since he has a food source he’s not capable of dying out there, even if he never leaves. He might stink and fall asleep on the ground, but with access to burgers, he can do this indefinitely.

The family ignored him. Because he is a Slob, and had nothing else to do, Bob rummaged through their garbage bin and created constant piles of rubbish, which he then stomped on and played in.

Switching back to Bob AGAIN, I made him return home. And this time, when I reloaded the family and watched him in front of his house in the same neighbourhood… he walked off screen and disappeared. He hasn’t been back and their daughter was able to unlock the doors for her birthday party.

But the next time I load the Pancakes house I have no way of knowing whether Bob will be pressed up against the windows looking in.

Random piece of information from the Mitsurou Kubo autograph session

Translating PASH is taking some time so in the meantime have this. I didn’t go to the autograph session because of course I didn’t win the lottery for it (it was only about 120 people out of 30,000 applications, and still reports say that over 10 people didn’t show up, aaaahhh give me your luck if you don’t need it seriously). However some people are sharing pics of the drawings they got at the event, and one person also shared one piece of information which I’m sure you want to know.

I’m translating this person’s tweets exactly as they are but I decided not to post her name because she’s a normal person and maybe she might get scared and erase the tweets if she starts getting replies in lots of languages (and I don’t want to be the source of that lol). It’s one of the most retweeted posts about the session even though it has no pic attached so you might spot it if you’ve been looking at them…

By the way I think “AOI” is “Art on Ice”, the ice show that was recently held in Switzerland. Kubo was in Switzerland with Yamamoto until the other day and she posted pics of her with Deniss and he and Lambiel’s manager, so I think she went to see it.

Translation in bold:

What I earned at today’s autograph session was, beside of course the autograph, that I could directly thank her, that I could talk with her about AOI, and that I found out that Victor knew Yuuri from before the banquet & was aware that Yuuri was his fan.

(another person asked her “oh I guess it’s because of when Yuuri ignored him?” and below is the reply)

He didn’t notice him because Yuuri ignored him, it’s that sometimes one person’s performances might have some elements that resemble the ones of the skater they like, and apparently Victor, watching Yuuri performing, thought “oh, he’s my fan ₍₍ (̨̡ ‾᷄♡‾᷅ )̧̢ ₎₎ ” .

Now, it’s not clear how long “before the banquet” means, because it wasn’t specified whether she’s referring to Yuuri’s performance in the GPF or in general (though well, unless Yuuri has never been in the same tournament as Victor I guess Victor might have had other chances to see his performances), but still it’s cute that Victor would notice that. I wonder what would Yuuri think if he knew this, lol.

P.S.: The emoticon is Victor’s “official” emoticon, lol. She used it in the tweet so I used it too.

Subtle Magical Practice

Some of us live an environment where we cannot practice our craft openly.  It is a shame but our living situation is what it is.  So this is for those of you - of age of course- who cannot openly practice magic!

Energy working

This is a method that requires pretty much no tools so there’s not much to hide.  You can set barriers and shields with this method and no one ever can see.  However, if your spiritual strength is a bit on the low end, this is also a great way to start trying to increase it.  Like working out for your spirit power.

Here’s a post with various sources on energy working!

Kitchen Magic

This is one that if you like cooking, you can do without ever being suspected.  This is also a perfect excuse to have a lot of herbs because you can claim its for cooking!  I’m afraid I’m not particularly versed in it so I don’t really have any recipes to give but you can find a ton within the kitchen magic tag!

Music

Music can be paired, I think, with energy work and it can be used for a lot!  Especially if it has an emotive response for you!  Music tends to give me emotional responses and I have used it on more than one occasion to cleanse, lift the air and even give myself a boost in power.  You can even pull song lyrics to help make a spell incantation!  I can’t really tell you specifically which songs to use because this all would depend on how music effects you.  But it is certainly an option!  You can also sing or play your own instrument if you can to fuel a spell or cleanse!

Water, Water, Everywhere

Keep your empty bottles and you can store water of different types in there. Moon water, Storm water, Sun water, Sea water (if you are near the ocean), or even just add some salt to your water bottle.   You can keep it in a drawer or something and it is pretty versatile.  Salt water/sea water is great for cleansing and banishing and I love to use Storm water for the same purpose!  And if your family or roommates find it, so what?  All they’ll see are bottles of water.

Pop Culture Magic

As a nerd, I like the idea of charging up video game symbols or something and using it as something witchy.  And to others, it can just look like you are just wearing nerdy regalia.  Got a cool necklace from your favorite tv show?  Great!  Charge that sucker up in sun or moonlight and wear it around with you as a special charm!  Like some symbols from that video game you like?  Awesome!  Use it to make a special sigil of your own!

Sigils

Now that we’ve mentioned sigils, those are actually pretty great too!  You can use a pen to draw them on your skin somewhere under your clothes.  Draw it into the soup you are about to eat, use your concealer to draw it on your face and blend it in, draw it on a sheet of paper and put it in your pocket to carry with you.  Draw it on the inside of your tag on your shirt or jacket!  Hell, draw it and take a picture of it and set it as your phone background!  Sigils are extremely versatile and easy to keep very subtle!

Glamour Magic

This is a big one and really easy to disguise.  Use your make up to cast a spell on yourself for the day!  Charge your make up in moonlight to give it some extra strength!  Don’t wear make up?  That’s cool too!  Chapstick charged in moonlight is great!  You can also use your facial scrub or soap and use it as a cleansing ritual.  You can also use your clothes!  Charge up your clothes with moon or sunlight!  You can also charge them with your intent and focus on that intent becoming a part of you as you put them on!  You can also incorporate knot magic and braid your hair to lock in the spell so to speak or focus on the braid and it’s weaving together what you want to happen!  You can also use your cologne or perfume to set your tone for the day!

Candles

If you are allowed to burn them, they can be helpful as well!  All you have to do is say you like to have nice smelling candles!  And speaking of scents, aromatherapy is a great tool as well!  You can carve sigils into candles, anoint them with different waters and herbs!

Bath Magic

Oh boy this is a good one and also great for self care and cleansing!  You can charge up your favorite soaps, body washes and shampoos in the sun or moonlight!  You can also mix a bit of your different waters in with them!  I like to take my body wash and mix in some herbs!  Rosemary is a great one for cleansing and protection.  You can use bath salts to help with cleansing and there all kinds of things you can add in there!  Throw in some lemon slices, orange slices just some really great stuff and it makes you feel so nice!

Divination

Not really magic but I’m including it because in theory if you are in a situation where you can’t practice magic, you are probably in a situation in which you can’t openly do tarot either.  Shufflemancy is a good one because all you need is your music.  That’s it.  Nothing suspicious about that.  You just shuffle whether specified by another person or by when you think you should stop and give a reading based on the song that came up.  You can also use Stichomancy (with books) or Bibliomancy (which is with the Bible.  How’s THAT for ironic?  HAH!)

That’s what I’ve got for now but I’m sure there are other options to pursue.  I hope this was helpful to some of you!

Yuri on Ice interview translation - CREA 2017/03 (p34-35)

Second part of the YOI interviews featured on CREA. As for the one with Kubo, more than “interviews” they are like “mini articles” that incorporate what the interviewed people said. The interviews are with Kenji Miyamoto (choreographer), Eiji Abiko & Junpei Tatenaka (figure skating animators), Yuuko Sagiri (original costume designer), Keisuke Tominaga (music producer).

Random note: thanks to this magazine I was finally able to know that Sagiri’s name is “Yuuko”. When I translated her interview on Pash I did lots of research but wasn’t able to find out the pronunciation so I used Yuiko because that was what came out searching for the name alone, but now it’s confirmed that it’s Yuuko so as soon as I have time I’ll edit that interview to fix it. I swear all magazines should be obliged to provide the pronunciation of names, because sometimes it’s really hard to find out how the kanji are pronounced when it’s not famous people with Wikipedia pages and such…

By the way, the issue of Pash coming out today (Feb. 10th) has an article I was really looking forward to (the second part of Kubo’s detailed commentary on each episode), so I’ll probably spend the night translating it when I get home from work. Also because I want to post it before the YOI all night event on Saturday (I’m going to the live viewing).

***If you wish to share this translation please do it by reblogging or posting a link to it***

***Re-translating into other languages is ok but please mention that this post is the source***

The reality as expressed by 5 people who created “Yuri on Ice”

Reality #2: Choreography x Kenji Miyamoto
“The footage taken with the camcorder was the key to create realistic and powerful anime scenes”

Profile: From Hyogo prefecture. After retiring from competitive ice dance in 2006 he started working as a choreographer and commentator. With director Sayo Yamamoto’s “ENDLESS NIGHT” for the first time he was involved in creating figure skating choreographies for an anime.

The choreographies for all characters’ programs were created by choreographer Kenji Miyamoto. He created them integrating the music with the information he received from director Yamamoto and Kubo regarding the characters and their programs. What was different than usual is that the songs for the FS were 4 minutes long instead of 4:30 minutes.
“In the anime characters need less strokes to speed up, so it’s possible to use less ‘transitions’, the movements connecting different techniques. I cut down on those and made the programs more compact.”
Miyamoto was filmed with 4 fixed cameras and 2 portable camcorders as he danced all the programs, then the footage was edited into a multiframe video based on which the animated figure skating scenes were created.
“I believe that the footage taken with the portable camcorder, that filmed me up close, is what made it possible to create realistic and powerful tournament scenes.”
After watching the finished anime, Miyamoto commented that the characters’ monologues during their performances are realistic.
“When you are performing lots of things are whirling around inside your head. In my case it wasn’t words but still pictures, like photographs. I was happy that they expressed the athletes’ feelings.”

Reality #3: Animation x Junpei Tatenaka & Eiji Abiko
“The performances look realistic thanks to Miyamoto-sensei’s choreographies”

Profile: Animators working for the anime production company MAPPA. Specialized in sports and action scenes. They both created animation for director Sayo Yamamoto’s “ENDLESS NIGHT”.

Animation of the figure skating scenes was created by action specialists Junpei Tatenaka and Eiji Abiko. “It’s the first time that we digitally create 2D pictures after deciding the camerawork. It was very difficult because we had to figure out how to do everything”.
Tatenaka, who was already a fan of figure skating, says: “For the moments I believed to be the ‘highlights’ of a performance I would add 1-2 extra stills. This way, I was able to draw out a little what in the live footage only lasted an instant.” They actually made jumps much higher than they are in real life.
“While being aware that real skaters wouldn’t jump that high, I still wanted the scenes to be striking, therefore I was always looking for a good balance between realism and what could be allowed in animation.” (Abiko)
They both agree that Miyamoto’s choreography footage was the most important factor that allowed them to create realistic performance scenes.
“When there was a key point in the music, Miyamoto-sensei would pose with all of his body creating a beautiful line, from his fingertips to the tips of his toes. It was very easy to draw.” (Tatenaka)

Reality #4: Costumes x Yuuko Sagiri
“I think the only difference is that there were no budget restrictions (LOL)”

Profile: Ballroom dancing costume designer working for the ballet & dance supplies maker Chacott. She has designed figure skating costumes for athletes such as Nobunari Oda and Akiko Suzuki.

Yuuko Sagiri, designer of the athletes’ costumes, created the designs giving importance to functionality that would improve a skater’s performance and to elements that would make the character’s personality stand out, just like she does for real costumes. She chose materials, cuttings and decorations that would actually be employed in costumes used for real performances.
“Normally I objectively watch an athlete’s past performances to understand their level and what kind of movements they are skilled at, and this is then reflected in the design. This time I based the design on the characters’ setting materials, the information I received from the director and the choreography footage by Miyamoto-sensei. I think the only difference is that there were no budget restrictions (LOL).”
Regarding Yuuri’s costume, she mentions that she wanted to reflect the fact that he is psychologically weak and gains weight easily.
“I added shining decorations on his chest so that his face would look bright even when he is tense. The cuts on the waist are to make him look slim.”
Actually, she also designed a costume for Yurio’s exhibition. Sagiri said that she created the design thinking of what “Yurio would really want to wear”. We’d definitely like to see him skate with that costume!

Reality #5: Music x Keisuke Tominaga
“I added melody to the beautiful lyrics that is ‘Yuri on Ice’”

Profile: From Kanagawa prefecture. Music producer. He founded PIANO INC. in 2012 and is the current representative director. His main works include the Pocari Sweat 2016 commercial “Kimi no Yume wa, Boku no Yume.”, the TV anime “Zankyou no Terror”, etc.

When creating the music for this show, music producer Keisuke Tominaga constantly asked himself whether it was music you could dance to.
“I would move my hands, feet, my whole body, sometimes even checking the rhythm like a conductor or a dancer. Figure skating has many elements that resemble ballet, so to express the elegant movements of the body I used many tunes in triple time like waltz and bolero.”
Most of the classical and orchestra tracks were created by Taku Matsushiba, while the vocal tracks and modern band songs by Tarou Umebayashi. They worked on the music as a team, always communicating with each other.
“The world created by Kubo-san and director Yamamoto was like realistic and beautiful ‘lyrics’, and I feel that our role was to create a ‘melody’ for those lyrics. In fact, when I joined together Yuuri’s FS song “Yuri on ICE” and Victor’s recorded voice for the first time, the lines sounded just like the words of a song, and I can’t describe how moved I was. I believe that this strong, deep expression that you would not be able to obtain with music alone is what realistically affects the viewers.”

Bonus in case you haven’t seen it already: Sagiri’s design for Yurio’s exhibition program.

Working with energy sources

How do you power your magic? As with anything magical, there are far more answers than any one person would care to know. When it comes to spells, what you use can have a potent influence on the efficacy of the spell. Whether channeling, transmuting, or just using your own internal energy,  it’s good to consider the source of the spell’s power when crafting it. More traditionally minded witches look toward the elements and herbal/crystal correspondences, but there’s also plenty of other ways to power your spells! Here, I review some common and uncommon energy sources and how to use them. This list is most certainly not exhaustive and is intended more to provide a starting point for thinking about what makes different energy sources unique. If you don’t already, I encourage you to think critically about the sources of magical power you use and what makes them so effective!

Traditional Sources:

  • The sun - As the primary provider of measurable energy such as light and heat, the sun is essential to life. Solar energy is potent and unfiltered so it’s very powerful, but also undirected. For both physical and magical purposes, solar energy has to undergo transformative processes in order to be useful to us. Channeling solar energy to power a spell is a common practice, though it should be done with care since the sun tends to burn up whatever it touches when used irresponsibly.
  • The moon - The moon is the gentler counterpart to the sun. It traditionally fills a more mystical role, better suited to emotionality, secrecy, and protection than raw strength. The moon’s phases also offer clear time periods to suit different goals, especially ones that need time to develop. Many practitioners choose to time their workings by the moon’s phases, like to ensure that a spell manifests by a certain point in time.
  • Candles - A candle is a firey energy source that can be easily manipulated by the practitioner. Like all fire-based energies, it is best suited for creative works, strength of will, etc. Candles are especially useful due to the high degree of specification they can have. A candle dressed in oil or carved with an intention can be more closely bound to the magical goal and thus more easily channeled into the spell. Herbs, colors, sizes, and scents may also be used to attune the energy source to the goal. Furthermore, the practitioner has direct control over the source itself and can make use of lighting and extinguishing the candle as a means of manipulating the spell’s energy.
  • Grounding, earthing - There seems to be a bit of disagreement over whether grounding is best used as a conclusion to a spell or as an energy source for a spell, but I think the reason for this is that there are several different kinds of grounding processes. When grounding a spell after its completion, the practitioner is sending the existing magical energy back into the world in order to allow it to take effect and manifest. Grounding as an energy source is a way of channeling energy from the earth (or the universe) to power your spell. Both are good techniques in my opinion, though I tend to find other ways of concluding and “sending out” my magical works similarly effective.

Man-made Sources:

  • Railroads - Railroads are an old form of energy, at least as far as man-made sources go. They are a good source of energy for things that need a lot of strength, or that need to travel long distances. They also have a significant association with trade and commerce, as well as with moving or traveling for pleasure.
  • Subways - I find myself using subways most often for work related magic. I find the electrified third rail to be a powerful point to tap into when working spells that need to reach across the city (like calling for trains to come sooner) or when I’m working in the direct vicinity. Subway commuters tend to be pretty well synchronized to the ambient energy, so you could also probably use some of it to affect the atmosphere on the platform or give yourself a little boost of energy before heading off.
  • Outlets & Adapters - I love using adapters for charging little charms and sigils! It’s a pretty neutral energy, plus it’s well suited to passive charging. Usually, I can leave stuff sitting on my laptop adaptor overnight and find it all juiced up in the morning. You could also definitely transmute it for use in more structured/ritual-based spells, though I find it a bit awkward to include.

Internal Sources:

  • Personal energy - Like most things, the magical practitioner themselves may act as an energy source. In some cases, this is desirable as it allows for a very personal mark on the spell. Tying a spell’s energy to one’s own will and strength gives the practitioner direct control over the spell and also can help them keep tabs on how active the spell is. On the other hand, a spell might require more energy than the practitioner has to offer, potentially draining the user unexpectedly, causing the spell to fail, or both. Personally, I use my energy when I have some extra to spare, which is a nice way of saying I dump all my anger into my curses. When doing that, I also make sure to seal off the spell when I’m done so none of it comes back to me. If you choose not to seal off your workings entirely, you may leave a limited connection in order to keep tabs on whatever it is you’re powering. I do this for simple servitors and wards so that I can keep them from running too low. I wouldn’t recommend dumping all your energy into a spell all at once because you can and will exhaust yourself.
  • Channeling - Channeling is less a source of its own and more a means of using sources like those mentioned above. When channeling energy, the practitioner simply acts as a conduit to direct external energy into their magical work. Channeling is generally regarded as a pretty basic energy work skill and is virtually essential for witches, regardless of path. Of course, now that I’ve said that, someone’s going to tell me they have a practice that never uses channeling, but hey, that’s how it goes. I think the trickiest part of channeling is keeping your energy and the energy you’re channelling separate. Obviously, your own personal energy can be used in a spell, but that gets exhausting fast and if you’re trying to avoid that by channelling, you should be careful not to still end up draining yourself too. Likewise, channelling opens you up to direct contact with external energy sources, some of which you may not want lingering around. If you’re worried about getting stuff mixed up, try working with a familiar energy source like a crystal or a plant before working with more powerful energy like the sun or a planet.
  • Transmutation - Like channelling, transmutation is a way of making use of energy. Its main difference is that instead of using an energy specially chosen for the practitioner’s purposes, they simply pull from what’s around and transform it on the fly. Transmutation requires a bit more practice than channeling, as you have to modify the energy you’re bringing in before you can make use of it, but it’s also damn convenient. I find it best used when working with neutral energy, especially the kind that seems to linger around cities and man-made sources. Neutral energies can also be combined through transmutation, so you can even mat Transmutation of natural sources is most definitely possible, but it’s best suited to the kind of generic energy that you’d find in unprogrammed quartz rather than say, trying to transmute the energy in lavender for a nasty curse.

I wrote this very quickly and I’m not sure it makes any sense but here just take it!! & please feel free to add on with any of your favorite energy sources and how you use them
