Lately it seems that he’s always avoiding JK in public

This happened three days ago (at the time of making this post the date was May 6th):

Jimin being domestic with his husband Jungkook in front of millions of viewers (13 days ago):

In a span of 2 weeks, we have Jikook almost kiss each other & having a family dinner in front of tons of viewers, posting selca on social media, and Jimin very discreetly touching JK on stage.

I? Don’t get it? When Jimin is like this??????

  • Jimin is a shy person:

Palm reader, Tony Leggett’s Youtube video (bless you @harunyany for bringing this to my notice) suggests that Jimin may act confident on stage, but he’s actually very shy

He himself once said in an interview that he’s a shy Busan man.

  • Jimin said this about himself once:
  • Jimin always aims to be a cool person:

My point here is that maybe Jimin struggles to strike a balance between how much of his feelings to show on stage and how much to restraint. It’s extremely challenging to be hundred percent expressive when you’re a popular public figure. Everyone has eyes on you and you never know how your actions could be interpreted.

Over the years, Jimin has become more and more reserved. As much as we would love to see Jimin shower his affections on JK, it’s for his own (and the team’s) well-being that he take caution, all the more reason if Jikook are actually in a real relationship. Jungkook is another story altogether. Jimin has the dual responsibility to keep his emotions and also JK’s in check. He was born in Busan first after all.

We have to accept the fact that their (or anyone’s) personal relationship is none of our business (we’re bystanders relishing the supposed chemistry they have) and so beyond our control. How Jimin handles his interpersonal relations is solely up to him. Even as die-hard Jikook shippers, we have to try and give them some space. We can’t expect Jimin to be all over JK in every concert, nor should he be. Our basis for their relation to be a reality is the fact that they’re almost always subtle and their moments aren’t in your face which would make it more of a fanservice (like the 21st Century Performance).

I would humbly request that people don’t judge Jimin for not being super eager in responding to JK’s affections. There could be so many reasons for that and what I’ve pointed out is only tip of the iceberg.

kpop male groups as students
  • BIGBANG: been in highschool for 10 years. super smart and funny but have been held back because they all managed to fail their tests. still cool though and the younger students throw rose petals at their feet as they walk the halls. one guy managed to pass the test so everyone is sh00k and super sad. savage but cute
  • EXO: memes. everyone likes them except the teachers. lost a few squad members as they transfered countries. hard to keep track of but they still c00l af. everyone knows their jokes and they all have managed to get hella good grades. also hella rich and have their own table with aspiring ceos and football stars lol
  • BTS: teachers hate them. stand on tables and throw books because they refuse to be apart of the schooling system. started riots during exam period but didn't get expelled. hella cute and are involved in every club. sometimes problematic but everyone somehow loves them hehe
  • SUPER JUNIOR : most of them are in uni. everyone knows like, that one squad member because he was savage. sometimes that one guy comes back and they have a ceremony but people forget him eventually lol. senior students still remember them from freshmen year. used to take up the whole damn cafeteria cause they wouldnt stop recruiting members.
  • SEVENTEEN: lost a few guys in primary. replaces suju's spot in the cafeteria and eats all the goddamn food. everyone knows them when they're walking around in the halls as a group but separately... nah fam. sometimes you can hear the vocal members in music class from the otherside of the building
  • GOT7: gets shit grades but people love them. one guy made them hella popular because he was too extra in class. some members are unpopular but they still have freshman chasing them lmao. sit at the front of class and you can hear their laughter from outside. ruined the school play by dabbing everytime they went on stage. became viral tho so it was worth it
  • MONSTA X: freshman love them because they're extra at the appropriate times. Too early or too late to trends but they're still a crowd pleaser hehe. teachers hate them because they got scholarships for "no reason" (even though they're very smart!!). photo day is their day
  • ASTRO: everyone loves them. teachers love them. the principle hates them because they distract everyone with their happiness. pass all of their exams and are involved in many clubs. everyone only knows that one guy tho because of his photo day picture (he looked hella g00d)
  • BAP: got expelled for doing the same shit as bts l o l. but the principle called them back in after a few years because he realized that they got scholarships for a reason lmao
  • INFINITE: no one knows every single guy individually but they can sense their outgoing atmosphere, yknow. everyone ignores them but they also don't want them to graduate and leave lol
  • VIXX: no one talks to them because they're scared they will get roasted and become twitter famous lol
  • KNK: known for being the tall freshmen. no they dont play on the basketball team. no one knows their names but its because they seem shy when in reality everyone's too lazy to look up all the time and talk to them so they just ignore them
  • SHINee: did they graduate? no. the teachers won't let them so they have to suffer a few more years. worth it tho because they inspire every student. sometimes bring chaos into the school but the principle is cool about it lol
  • NCT : freshmen who appeared from nowhere. jk they were in their rooms srudying the entire time cause their parents were hella strict. had to be split up into groups according to favorite subjects because the teachers felt sorry for the cafeteria ladies at this point. some guys are in more than one group tho cause their parents hate them yikes
  • BtoB: no one remembers their grades. they just know them lmao because they're handsome and speak in a lot of ceremonies. seniors who look like they've been friends for 15 years. kinda quiet but... also hella loud lmao
  • WINNER: one guy left the school and everyone cried. got shitty grades because the teachers forgot about them. had some amazing test results but no one noticed
  • iKON: were supposed to be studying music but somehow their main subject became japanese. no one knows what they do because they all spend their life in that goddamn japanese class room. teachers pay too much attention to them but do nothing oml
  • Shinhwa : older than half of the teachers. no one remembered them but they still walked into school 5 days after reunion day and somehow everyone kind of did remember them... idk lol. got good grades and sort of encouraged the students after them to pursue their dreams :'). still hella old tho

pleasespellchimerical  asked:

Hey friends! I just wanted to say that your posts on spies have been so useful to me. Anyway, I have a character who is an ex-soldier (infantry). For various plot reasons, he needs to infiltrate a very secretive group and gain info on them. He has a mentor, who is an intel agent. Question is: what would a crash course on infiltration look like? They don't have much time, and my solider is a very straightforward person and has some problems with deception. What does he need to know?

Well, one thing he really should not know, under any circumstances, is that his handler is setting him up as a sacrificial lamb for the other guys to capture and interrogate. A “spy,” who is bad at deception, and very straightforward? He has “doomed spy,” written all over him.

The Doomed Spy is a concept from Sun Tzu’s The Art of War. This is a spy you send in, explicitly, to be captured. They don’t know it, but their real job is to feed misinformation to the enemy, either through shoddy tradecraft or under direct interrogation. This could range from something as simple as a false flag operation, where the spy is told and believes they’re working for one nation or faction, when in fact, that entity has no knowledge of their actions, and their handler’s loyalties actually belong elsewhere. Or, it could be as complex as an entire operation, designed to provide the targets with false intelligence.

So, your ex-soldier, who’s bad at lying, and thinks he’s working for one group is, in fact, working for a completely different group that wants to provoke action against the people he’s (probably) loyal to. This may go a step further, where his handler recruits him, specifically because of his prior ties to the faction the handler claims to represent.

Something else that’s kind of important to understand about intelligence work, or at least direct human intelligence work. As a spy, your job isn’t to sneak into an office, or even talk your way in. Sometimes you need to be there personally, but most of the time, you can get someone else to do it for you. Why sneak into an office building, when you can pay a member of the cleaning staff to pass paperwork to the trash, where you can get someone to pick it up later?

At that point, there isn’t a lot of reason to train assets (the people a spy uses as intermediaries to get their information). In theory, they already know how to act in their native environment.

Getting someone into some kind of secret society is going to be a lot trickier, but at that point, your spy’s best cover may be going in as themselves. Okay, up front, this one’s a kind of weird situation, so let’s parse apart how this works.

Normally, a spy’s best option is to get other people to work for them. It creates a layer of insulation, so if something goes wrong, they can get out, and take any intelligence they’ve obtained, before the authorities manage to close in on them. This doesn’t always work, but, the separation between an actual spy and their assets is vital to effective tradecraft. It also means that the spy’s identity isn’t immediately known. There’s a huge jump between walking into a place, and having your face on security cameras, and getting some poor schmuck no one knows to do it for you. This also leads to a paradoxical situation with intelligence work. Spies tend to deal with their most immediately critical cases early in their careers, when no one knows who they are, and then spend the rest of their career working on much less important cases, when getting exposed would be less harmful.

What we have here sounds like a slightly different situation that doesn’t really pop up in the real world, where a spy’s anonymity wouldn’t work.

If we’re talking about some supervillain’s secret society, where they already have intelligence gathering on par with some nations, and have moles in your spy’s intelligence agency, then, as I said a minute ago, the answer may be to go in, “as themselves.”

With one exception, you wouldn’t likely see this in the real world, but a veteran spy, looking to infiltrate some kind of Illuminati/Majestic 12 style, “secret rulers of the world,” type conspiracy, may be better off poking them with a stick and asking for a job. They’d already know who the spy is, there’s no real point in pretending to be someone else. Their own skill set wouldn’t raise any questions when that’s who they’re supposed to be anyway. Once they’re in, they’d probably act as a sleeper (an agent who does not engage in any intelligence activities) to build up their cover, increase their access, and only act when they have the opportunity to fully achieve their goals, (which could take years).

Just to be clear, you could shove an entire series in here, about a spy who infiltrated some conspiracy, and is building their cover and working their way up through the ranks while wrestling with their ethics and what they’re having to do.

In that context, it’s possible they may pick an ex-soldier off the street to send in, in order to get the organization’s people knocking on their door.

In general, you’re not going to see this with national intelligence services, because no one trusts defectors. But, if you’re talking about an extra-national service, they don’t really have the option of producing their own talent (at least, not at first). They’d also be more likely to poach members of their host nations’ intelligence communities.

The one real world example where you might see a spy walking in the front door without a cover would be in dealing with businesses. Companies who are concerned about corporate espionage have a real incentive to hire former intelligence officers as security consultants and advisors. At the same time, this isn’t an extremely likely outcome for a couple reasons. First, private sector jobs like this are a very lucrative gig for ex-civil servants, meaning going after one would be biting the hand that (would have) fed them. Second, they’d still be in competition with other ex-intelligence officers for the position, people with the same kinds of training they received, which would make getting in tricky. Finally, when it comes to the business world, you rarely need a spy; it’s overkill. Most of the things a business gets into would be better suited for investigation by normal law enforcement channels.

Come up with a situation where a spy would need to tear into a company’s actions, and they’d benefit more from directing police action against it, rather than going in directly.

In all of this, I don’t think I’ve answered the direct question. The kind of videogame, sneaking in through the vents, infiltration approach doesn’t (usually) work. Infiltration, in the real world, is more about walking in and looking like you belong there, not hiding behind crates and climbing the drainpipes. (Somewhat obviously, this isn’t going to work out for your straightforward ex-soldier who has hang-ups about lying to people.) The biggest lessons are in social engineering. Learning how people function (psychologically), and exploiting inherent vulnerabilities in “normal” social structures.

Social Engineering often gets broken down into individual tricks, that play with expectations, for example: using a business card as false identification when making an introduction. This would never get you through a security checkpoint, but it might get you in the building to talk with someone, and give you access to information they normally wouldn’t.

As a gestalt, social engineering is fairly complex, but the basics are looking for ways to get people to give you information they really shouldn’t, by making them think you’re someone who is supposed to have access.

But, that’s what a spy’s job is, getting people to tell you things they shouldn’t, usually by misdirection and deception.

- Starke

Two films that come to mind in this specific genre which may be worth watching are The Recruit, and Spy Game.

The Recruit (2003) focuses on a programmer (Colin Farrell) who is tapped by the CIA to become an agent, and the film spends a lot of time working through the training of prospective CIA Officers.

Spy Game (2001) focuses on a retiring CIA Officer (Robert Redford) discussing the training and career of his protégée (Brad Pitt). To a degree, this is probably the most on point to what you’re after, so if you’ve never seen it, it should be part of your lit review.

As always, Burn Notice’s, “when you’re a spy” routines may also be useful. The show spends a lot of time on social engineering (though it rarely uses the term). The discussions on how people normally behave, and how to work around, or exploit, their expectations are what you’re looking for.

You may also want to pick up and watch Ronin (1998). This is more about veteran spies interacting, but it has a very slick approach to tradecraft that may be useful.

ok I read the article about the team up thing. I hope the writers don't do the thing where in trying to decide what's the best way to save alex, kara and maggie end up fighting/competing over who loves/knows alex more... but knowing the CW they could definitely pull that shit. I JUST WANT THEM TO BE FRIENDS AND KARA TO BE MAGGIE'S ADOPTED LITTLE SISTER!! also what Kara said to Maggie in 2x13 was such a misstep and such a big Y I K E S.

just to preface: this is not intended to be an anti-kara post. this is just me expressing my frustration with the writers / how kara has been written so far this season.

if you look closely, kara has had a few moments where she’s misjudged maggie or jumped to conclusions with her. i think 2x13 was just an eye opener for a lot of people because it was so bad. for example:

  • when they first meet, kara makes that sassy remark towards maggie without knowing the full story of alex’s ‘rejection’. maggie is as nice as possible to alex when she lets her down, but kara acts like she’s an asshole. especially when maggie has absolutely no obligation to return alex’s feelings, which, considering kara didn’t return winn or james’ feelings, seems rather hypocritical. strike one against the writers for lack of continuity.
  • when maggie arrests lena, kara tries to undermine maggie’s authority. since maggie knows kara is supergirl at this point, it wouldn’t surprise me if kara was attempting to use that as an influence over the situation. except, it doesn’t work. maggie is only doing her job, just like james and j’onn and winn and alex were doing their jobs in the same way in that episode. yet, kara manages to attack every single one of them at some point. again, this is just really bad writing. it’s just unlike kara.
  • and then there’s 2x13, where kara, once again, gives her two cents on not only alex and maggie’s relationship (which is toeing the line), but maggie’s life (which is quite literally none of her business). this time, she knows absolutely none of the story, and yet she’s still telling maggie to ‘change’ for alex. this is disappointing, especially when we know that maggie’s past will probably never be mentioned again after it was brushed over so easily in that episode. it also makes maggie’s whole apology (which she shouldn’t have had to do in the first place) seem like kara’s idea.

they’ve put so much emphasis on kara being a reporter this season. cat tells her she has the instincts, which i don’t doubt. people have told her on multiple occasions that her articles are good, which i also don’t doubt. she also tells lena in 2x12 that she has learned to keep digging for a story even if the answer is hard to find. so, why is she unable to do this with maggie? she doesn’t ask questions with maggie, she doesn’t ‘investigate’ or ‘get the full story’, she literally just pounces when she sees an opportunity. it’s disappointing to see a standoffish kind of relationship between two females on this show, because it’s not supposed to be that show.

you could chalk most of this up to kara being protective of her sister, but if that’s the case, where’s alex being protective of kara? alex tells kara flat out that she should go for m/on el. despite knowing that he’s the equivalent of a frat boy who has openly expressed he has zero respect for women. wouldn’t you think kara would extend the same courtesy to maggie? again, poor writing. a lot of kara this season just doesn’t make sense to me.

pynch fluff !!

I am writing a 5+1 things fic for my ao3 account, and I finished one of the parts so I supposed I would upload it to here as a little… sneak peak. Enjoy!

After everything had settled down with the Glendower scheme, Adam and Ronan were absolutely and grossly in love. They were officially in the “honeymoon phase”, as Blue called it. It was toothpaste kisses and whispered sweet nothings, long gazes and meaningful touches. They were in every way, infatuated with one another—but, they were… low-key about it (at least around the group).

If there was ever PDA, it was subtle, small gestures. In Ronan’s opinion, there was no reason to be overly showy. For these reasons, their relationship was never really in the spotlight. It was never the topic of the group’s conversations. It was just background music to whatever was taking place. It wasn’t hidden, they weren’t hiding it, there were just better things to talk about. If the group was a little… behind on all things Ronan and Adam, that was why.

However, while they were alone, affection wasn’t hidden—it was on display. They had said their I love you’s fairly quickly, as the both of them had been sure in their feelings for long enough that there was no point in putting it off. Ronan was relieved when Adam said it first, that way the phrase would stop coming up as word vomit—and he would be able to stop choking it down. He was free to tell Adam he loved him whenever he wanted—and he did. They said I love you all through the day, when they went to bed, when they woke up, over text, and even on the phone.

Looking back, it was bound to slip sometime.

Do you have any expectations for 12x19? Personally I'm a bit apprehensive. The previous two Cas heavy episodes were really well made but this time I don't know why I just have this apprehension concerning this ep. (Here's hoping I'm being unnecessarily paranoid 🍺)

I have so many expectations and theories and I am so excited for 12x19!  But on the other hand I have delved into this in detail already and I don’t want bang on too much….

We are supposed to be worried and I love this!

All the build up and pining/separation/Cas hiatus is making us worry for and miss Cas and seeing how much Dean is worried and misses him is very exciting :) Also, again with the Destiel/Sastiel comparisons, I love how they do this, how they show that Sam still cares but Dean is just another level. Pfft.

We are seeing so much through Dean’s eyes this season and I think it’s been done so well (e.g. all this but also the opening scene of the season with Mary, the waitress in 12x18 for example is portrayed through Dean’s eyes in terms of what she means to him (literally just a distraction etc) .

Seeing Kelly start to wonder about her choices? YES! Seeing Cas get hurt in front of Sam and Dean? YES! Seeing multiple clips and therefore an important focus on Dean being pissed at Cas and Sam kind of hovering behind still pissed but not getting too involved in this domestic fight? YESSSSSSSSS!

I’m gonna link you to a couple of posts:

my overall season spec: 12x18 analysis & spec.

this post from @postmodernmulticoloredcloak where they/we did some spec.

this post from @bluestar86 which mirrors some of my own thoughts.

The main one that the rest of my Dean/Cas meta sits on at the moment is my break up theory which 12x19 is central to I hope, here

I feel like this black moment / break up point is going to be 12x19 (and/or 12x23 or a culmination of all of this season).

I have strong feelings of a 6x20 parallel coming into 12x19 and I will be disappointed if we don’t some sort of full on argument and angry/sad eye-longing as a call back to this. Although I imagine as the depth of their feelings are so much stronger now Dean will be less overtly hurt and more just plain angry by this point, I’m imagining some sort of CW-okayed version of “well just F*** off then Cas”.

My best bet is on… something along the lines of:

12x19 Dean being angry and pushing Cas away for ‘abandoning’ him  (which seems to be what the promo is showing in the brief glimpse we have). I think this is pretty much standard, easy spec, I mean, it’s not even spec at this point it’s clearly canon.

Cas probably going away with the angels as HE feels pushed away and rejected or being ‘taken’ in someway, but I have a feeling it’s going to be more the former, especially after the waitress thing shows how bad Dean is dealing and the promo shows Dean is clearly gonna be pissed

I was going to type out again my theories for 20-23 and endgame but i think they’re in the above posts … basically chosen separation 20-21, probable reconciliation, out of their hands separation from 23 into hiatus

The way the 3 episodes are titled with past, present, future connotations and just the fact that they literally can’t kill Misha or Cas off the show anyway and the heavily moved forwards Destiel storyline I am not worried for Cas overall.

So, for 12x19 - while I think it will be super painful the endgame is gonna be worth it :)

Given the overall dramatic turn of their relationship this season and all the pining, the love talk etc. the writing now means that really they CANNOT be around each other without it becoming canon or them having to back out completely (which I really don’t see them doing at this point, what would be the point of creating this whole drama this season to then just back it down to bro-talk), so really for me, they have to be separated for *reasons*, the show has backed themselves into the proverbial corner…

Hence the idea of ‘winning him back’ for s13 and some great Cas-centric stuff moving forwards. Even if it might be Cas-light in terms of screen time, as I heavily parallel s6 with s12 and therefore s7 separation to a s13 probable separation, I think he will have a great arc leading to series end…. we shall see.

if you dont mind me being nosy what did happen between Joseph Mallozzi and joe flanigan?

Don’t worry, you’re not being nosy.  It happened so long ago now, it’s basically moved into ancient fandom history and I’m not sure how you’d even look it up on your own.  I tried to find some links to add here to make this more factual but not a lot is out there anymore.  You could always check old posts on Mallozzi’s Wordpress (but honestly, I wouldn’t bother).

Basically, if I remember correctly, JF had A LOT of concerns about the show (i.e. : killing off Carson and Elizabeth, Teyla only being billed as “Sheppard’s love interest”, Sheppard being too ignorant about things like not knowing who was under his command [a la Whispers]) and he brought all of these up to Mallozzi and the gang.  His intention wasn’t to complain that it was a bad show but to try and make it alot better, but he got completely ignored, even to the point that Mallozzi was cutting him out of all knowledge of future episodes/story-arcs for his character.  That alone would have pissed me off a ton but then the whole “we don’t care about SGA anymore, we want to do SGU” thing happened, which pretty much pushed it all over the edge.  As an example of how passionate JF was about SGA, he tried desperately to get it to have a Season 6, even getting financial backers and attempting to secure all of the rights from MGM so they could producer it independently (he never did get the rights, very sadly).  I can only imagine how it felt to hear Mallozzi was just pushing it aside for something completely untested (and somethingthat ultimately failed).

As some behind-the-scenes TV insight:  I worked for a prominent TV Network here in the US for 8 years and let me tell you, writers and producers and programming directors do this stupid shit ALL the time.  They think, “omg, we want to make ‘Show B’ so badly!  We don’t care how well ‘Show A’ is preforming - it’s not what we want!  I’m sure our audience will LOVE ‘Show B’ because WE LOVE ‘Show B’ !”  So they get ‘Show A’ cancelled and then ‘Show B’ falls flat and they gain literally nothing from it.  Not to mention that it’s almost always for the same “we don’t want this first demographic anymore, we want this second one.”  I worked on a show for a full year that was supposed to be the shining beacon of the network I worked for and almost everyone internally kept saying, “this is way too high-brow for our network.  We aren’t in this demographic.  It’s going to fall REALLY flat.”  Despite that, the producers and executives put hundreds of thousands into the show and then guess what?  It completely bombed.  TV producer Boyz Clubz can do horrible stuff to shows.

But I’m getting off track.

TL;DR - Mallozzi is basically a big dick (he did this shit with SG1, too).  Joe really wanted to make SGA a lot better (as did a lot of the other actors) but Mallozzi & Co cut him out of any creative control over his character, ignored his concerns, and then killed the show.  I’d honestly be pretty pissed still about all of this, too.

(Also, for any other long-time fans, please add or correct me if I’ve gotten anything wrong!  I am developing an old-lady-fandom brain with all of this).

Hi, so I don't follow you or anything, but a lot of ppl I talk to online link me to a lot of your posts, I believe Book 3 got a satisfying ending, Kataang was solid & looked mutual, I don't believe in this book 4 b/c it never looked like Book 4 was going to happen Bryke said it was going to be 3 books and Kataang was the plan always. I have a couple questions: 1. How do you think Book 3 is messed up? 2. What's up with this book 4 and Aaron Ehasz stuff? 3. Why Zutara over Kataang/Maiko? (1/2)

(2/2) same guy who doesn’t follow you lol Now I’m not here to hate or anything I just want to know why so many ppl think this way and believe this, so many ppl I’ve talked to online being up Aaron Ehasz and Book 4, and how Zutara was originally the plan, and how Bryke messed up Book 3 and Zuko’s character I see this a lot and it confuses me, that’s not how I saw the show so why do you guys see it this way, a lot of ppl link me to your stuff so I thought it was best if I just asked you directly.

Well, first of all Bryke are notorious flip-floppers. I have read so many of their interviews and it is hard to take what they say seriously, because they are so inconsistent. I don’t know how anyone takes them seriously after the whole hetero-lens comment. That was honestly funny to me. Even M. Night Shyamalan said that Bryke did not know who Katara was going to end up with when they decided to make the live-action movie. I don’t think he would make that up. Why would he?

The reason that Book 4 is believed by so many people is because there is a LOT of evidence for it, the info is consistent with the show’s concepts and philosophy, and because Book 3 did not feel complete. There were many, many unanswered questions by the end. Like Lu Ten, Zuko’s mom (that was infamous), etc. To answer your questions:

1. How is Book 3 messed up? Oh boy. There are so many ways. I did not like the characterization much in Book 3; it was very inconsistent. Aang became so immature and annoying in Book 3 and he got almost no character development. Instead of 12, he acted like he was 5-years-old. Katara became too cutesy. The Katara from The Headband is not the same character from The Southern Raiders, I’m sorry. Those are 2 different characters.

Zuko was a train wreck after the stupid plot twist in The Crossroads of Destiny. I don’t know why they thought they should turn such a complex and empathetic character into an angsty Anakin Skywalker ripoff immediately after his spiritual awakening, but they did. I could not believe how stupid it was when Iroh told him that good and evil would always be at war inside of him. That is the complete opposite of what his character was about before. There was also the ridiculous plot hole of Aang’s final chakra never being resolved. Even my 10-year-old sister thought it was stupid how Aang mastered his Avatar State by hitting a pointy rock. Then there’s the shipping, which I will get to.

2. What’s up with this book 4 and Aaron Ehasz stuff? This is a collection of information from various different individuals who either claim to have worked on the show, or spoken to people who have. Including people who have spoken to Ehasz, or who have attended his class at UCB where he talked about his ideas for Avatar that he couldn’t explore. I have made a post about all of the info that summarizes the main ideas. Now, I don’t see what anyone has to gain by making all of this stuff up. This info comes from many different people on different forums who claim the exact same thing.

3. Why Zutara over Kataang/Maiko? Well, the shipping is just another aspect of Book 3 that I found to be complete garbage. I have done many, many metas at this point on how Zutara was set up. They were supposed to be Twin Flame soul mates, which use the Sun and Moon as symbols. And the entire plot line of letting Katara go was to pave the way for Zutara. It was not a coincidence that they had such a romantic scene in the cave together while Aang was trying to let go. The fact that Katara was Aang’s earthly attachment implied that she did not love him romantically. That is why Kataang left the show on a plot hole. And the first 2 episodes of Book 2 and the last 2 episodes of Book 2 were about the difference between love and attachment. That was the main theme of the show. And it was just…dropped.

Kataang is forced and I did a meta comparing Kataang to both of Sokka’s romances to explain why I thought it was awful and badly executed. Aang becomes incredibly pushy with Katara and he acts like a brat. The way their romance was handled was incredibly childish and I thought it was unappealing and sexist. Katara was treated like Aang’s reward at the end. It was also boring and cheesy. One of the most dull ships I’ve ever seen. No chemistry whatsoever. Zutara would have contributed FAR more to the story and character development for everyone. Kataang just felt like it was obligated to happen to appease the 6-year-olds.

Mai is a horrible match for Zuko and Maiko is abusive. He doesn’t even have the same personality when they have their creepy romantic moments. He acts like he was brainwashed by the Dai Li. Even before I knew about Book 4, Maiko was by far the most awful ship I had ever seen. I did a meta on Zuko’s first interaction with Mai vs. his first interaction with Jin. Maiko look horrific in comparison and that was not an accident. Maiko was not supposed to be endgame. Ehasz did not want that. I should really do a meta comparing Maiko to Sokka’s romances like I did with Kataang.

My friend and I were stuck on something in the anime that I don't quite recall in the manga. Reiner says "if I had known there were people like this." Or something like that. People like what??? The survey corps? Ackermans? Eren???? Ehhh??? (Connie??? Lol)

This is pure speculation on my part and how I view what he meant, but this is easily debatable so don’t full on quote me here. This is just my interetation of Reiner’s monologue.

DISCLAIMER: This is my personal opinion. In no way am I stating what I say here is canon or completely accurate. if you disagree with my opinion, that’s perfectly fine! Everyone has a different point of view, but if you are going to send me messages trying to argue points of view with me or send me hate messages, do me a favor and please just don’t even bother.

First, he says he’s been surrounded by nothing but idiots for three long years, and on that tip I think he meant the walled people’s ignorance to the bigger picture. They’ve all had their memories wiped and Reiner is aware of this once he goes back to his Warrior self. They know nothing of the real world, so having to keep such large secrets close to his chest on top of realizing they have no clue how severe his struggle or his woes makes him upset because he knows they’ll have no sympathy. He has that harshly confirmed when he tries to get Eren to leave with him, and Bertl, and Eren point blank refuses. Basically implying he wouldn’t just run away with the “Enemies of Humanity”.

The people of the walls do not understand his position and he can’t speak to them about it because they’d kill him. He was forced to cope by himself and as a result, his personality split into two. When he realizes what’s happening to him, he becomes angry and upset with himself and blames the people of the Walls for this occurance. So therefore, they’re idiots to him.

So when you ask what “people” he was speaking of, I think he meant it as a way of referring to all of the Eldians of Paradis as a whole. Because he then goes on to say “We were just stupid kids… We didn’t know anything.” As in, they were all taught that the Eldian people inside the walls were evil children of the Devil. When in fact, they’re all simply people who desire their own freedom, just like them. People who share the same blood and the same curse as them.

Then he says he wouldn’t be such a half-assed piece of shit if he’d never known they existed. Meaning He became a half-assed warrior because he sympathized with those he was meant to kill. He went to Paradis with the full intent of fufilling his mission, but ended up caring for the people inside the walls and taking the role of a soldier to try and cope with his mixed feelings and the henious actions he’d commited as a part of his Warrior duty. He broke himself in two, and he is saying the ignorance of their existence would have been better than knowing the truth and having to cope with it the way he did.

Then he says it’s too late and that he doesn’t know what’s right anymore and that he has to face consequences for his actions while carrying out his mission as a warrior to the bitter end. Then he chooses to shift and give away their identities to try and take Eren.

So I believe this was Reiner realizing his personality was broken in two, and trying to understand them both at the same time. Facing the fact that he didn’t actually hate the people he was around in the walls, but also knowing he was supposed to and knowing they’d never forgive him for what he’d done. Knowing his mission as a Warrior, and knowing he had to follow through with it regardless. The way I interpret it is him saying if he’d never gone to walls, and never accepted the mission of destroying Paradis; he wouldn’t have become so mentally broken and he wouldn’t have lost himself in his two personas. His life would have been better in the ignorance of still believing they were evil people who deserved the death he helped reign on them instead of breaking himself in two to cope with the reality that some part of him cares for the people he was keeping secrets from, and actively killing.

i'm working on a cosplay that i have mostly done except for the bikini top. i made it and it looked right but when i tried it on it flattened my boobs and didn't sit right on me, i think its bc of the material? i'm doing it in linen bc it's a post apocalypse thing, would i be better off modifying a bikini top and them putting linen over it? also it's supposed to have a stand up collar and i don't even know where to begin with that since its supposed to be a halter neck. help me obi-wan kenobi

Hello there!

This is probably an issue of the cut of the top. Most commercial bikini tops are either a stretch material that can stretch around the breast, or they have a molded foam base that already has a rounded shape built in. With a non-stretch fabric, you’ll have to add roundness in the pattern and the cut of the top in order to make enough room for your breasts, otherwise you’ll flatten out.

There are a few ways to go about this, depending on how much room and support you need and what look you want.

The easiest thing to do would be to make a triangle-style top larger at the bottom than needed and gather it down. The gathers would make it fit under the bust, but the extra fabric would create room for the breast. This method would require visible gathers (which you may not want) and would provide the least support.

The next option would be to create what is basically a princess seam down the front of the pattern. This would be a two-part cup where the seam crosses the bustline vertically. One half would have a curve in it, so that it is larger in the middle, and the other piece would be mostly straight or have a less prominent curve in it. This would create some support and is capable of creating more room for the breast. The bikini top would look something like Violet in this image

(From here: This site sells their patterns, btw)

The final option would be to construct it like a 3-part bra cup. This has multiple seams that help create more contoured fit, as well as creating more support. This would be your best option if you have larger breasts or otherwise need more support. The pattern would look generally like this…

(From here:

…though there are other styles out there that change things up either for fashion or for different amounts of support. You can see what the finished bra would look like in the link above.

The main points here are to have a well-fitted band (the part under the breasts) and well-fitting cups that are cut with enough room for the breasts in them. This will support and lift and prevent the squashed look that a non-stretch bra top cut without enough room will create. I would also recommend adding foam cups to the bra to create a little more shape and support, and help prevent anything from showing through.

For the stand collar, I would need a reference image to see how it attaches in both the back and front, but you can probably simply combine a collar with the halter neck. I have a tutorial here for detachable collars:

I hope that helps! :]

so i really wanna start writing this nessian long fic but i'm so afraid bc there's so many talented writers in this fandom like you and i just don't know if anyone will like it or even read it idek any advice for people like me who are hesitant to start writing fic for this fandom (or any fandom really)??

Okay okay okay (I suck at advice but I will try okay okay trying:)

So first things first if you have a thing inside your head that you want to write write it. Get it out of your head. It is doing you no good in there (well okay it kinda is because story ideas are fun to sit and imagine and that’s nice) but it’s even better putting it down on paper!!! Set the idea freeee. Seriously. If you have that itch to write give in to it. It’s a rare enough thing that it should be cherished and indulged in when it deigns to appear. In short: JUST WRITE THE THING!!!!

The second part of that is posting the thing. Which you do not have to do. You can just write things for you, you know? In fact I think that’s the better way (and it’s Hard, dude, I know it is, because sometimes you’re just like….could ppl pls shower me with love it makes me want to keep writing (one nice comment will power my scribbling for days I know how it goes)) but these ideas are yours and you should own them and enjoy them just for you. Just because it feels good to have written this thing and put your ideas out there whether other people respond to them or not.

Posting fic is scary af I still don’t like it (I scuttle off to bed…pretty much as soon as I’ve posted whatever it is I’m posting I GET IT DUDE) but it’s also a lot of fun? Most of the awesome people I’ve met through fandom I’ve met through fic too; it gets people talking and that’s good. This fandom is actually pretty responsive towards fic in that…I think a solid 70-80% of them actually read it/go looking for it/interact with it in some way and that’s really cool? So if this is your starting point it’s good!!!

Also okay, I’m blatantly ripping this off from some post or other I have seen floating around this website but it’s like. Fic authors and fic readers see their fic in very different ways. Fic authors look at their fic and then they look at someone else’s fic and they do this: :( because that person’s writing is so much better than mine, their fics are so much better, I will never be as good as them I should just not even try. Fic readers look at other people’s fic and they go: :O Fic readers look at your fic and they go: :O Fic readers look at fics and are like omg a giant juicy chocolate cake and a glorious cheesecake. Different cake is still cake and all cake is good (the original post explained this so much better than me I’m just like…pointing that out in case it needed to be said)

The point is that no fic reader in the universe reads one fic and really likes it then goes and reads another fic and likes it a little bit better and then right, well, that last one was obviously garbage. I’m not bothering with them anymore what’s the point. I have found it. This is the one. This is the ultimate fic. We have found The One And Only fic author in this fandom we are ever going to read we don’t need any others, we don’t want any other fic ever because we have this one and it is perfect and what is the point of any of the other ones? Fic readers are like omg someone has written a fic of my otp! Omg someone else has written a fic of my otp! omg they’re both amazing I’m going to read them both 16 times and drown in them.

Fandom isn’t a competition, producing fanworks isn’t a competition either (listen I am aware this shit is difficult to actually take in okay I’M AWARE BELIEVE ME)  But I think if you love something enough that you have all these ideas for it and you want to write them you should write them. and then if you want to post them and share them with people you should do that too?

I mean…Maybe you will post it and…maybe no-one will read it or like but….I mean atm you just don’t know? At the moment no-one can read it or like it or love it because it hasn’t been written yet?? So I can’t tell you that people will love it but I can tell you that no-one will while it’s stuck inside your head, you know?

But, I don’t know, I suppose, if you can drag anything out of this quagmire of wiffle it’s that…If you care about something enough that you want to write it you should do that. At least try. Stick your pen on a piece of paper and see what happens. Maybe it goes nowhere and you can’t get through it. Maybe you write 10k in a night and fall in love. But just sort of hovering here in limbo all that’s going to happen is eventually that idea will fade away and maybe one day you’ll be sad that you didn’t just…try to see what might come of it?

TL;DR: Write the thing. You have enough of a passion to want to write, don’t ignore that. Post the thing if you feel able to once you’ve written the thing. What’s the worst thing that can happen if you try??

ok here's the thing. i really love you and your blog, i love your aesthetic and your characters, but Plance makes me SO uncomfy because of the age Pidge is supposed to be (under 18, Lance being at least 18). i don't want to unfollow you after all this time but being on mobile, i can't blacklist the ship ;~; and i don't wanna tell you not to enjoy the ship, that's mean of me. what do you suggest i do?

Firstly, I’m flattered that you enjoy my blog so much. And I appreciate your coming to me personally so we can work this out like adults (even though I have no idea how old you actually are, but I digress)rather than taking part in the already overwhelming amount of fandom drama. So thank you for that.

Secondly, as a Pidgance shipper myself - and somebody who absolutely does NOT condone adult/child relationships - please allow me a second of your time to first attempt to solve the issue at it’s source, so there’s a possibility you may not have to work around it at all.

See, the big problem with the Pidgance ship is less in the ship itself, and more in the way that some fans tend to inaccurately interpret it.

A lot of people view it as this:

When in reality, it’s really as simple as this:

We know very little about the Voltron characters, and one of the biggest missing links in terms of character info is the specific ages of the paladins. But here’s the thing, we DO have enough canon evidence to determine one thing: they’re all teenagers (Shiro being just slightly older, I wanna say 22 at the oldest).

You said above that the reason Pidgance as a ship makes you uncomfortable is solely because Lance is “at least 18″. But the thing is, there’s no supporting info for that claim. The most we’ve been given in terms of ‘specifics’ is that he’s in his “late teens”. In fact, it’s actually much more likely that he might be 16-17, at MOST. Which, in my opinion, is much more believable, because he appears to be somewhere in the high-school age region.

Pidge is, at the youngest, 14. That’s not canon, per se, but it’s the general consensus. A 14-year-old is still considered a teenager and-as I’ve stated before-is actually the age of the average high-school freshman in the US. So, they’re both within the high-schooler age range. They could be, at most, 5 years apart (which is honestly not that big a gap to start) in season 1, but it’s more plausible that the difference is closer to 2-3 years. Now consider how that gap will shrink as they age. Because the “teenager” age range is so small and such a crucial point for a person’s development, we tend to view the age gaps as being bigger than they actually are. Sure, when she’s 14, Pidge seems like a child still, but in less than a year she’ll be 15…which is within the age range of the average disney heroine who- more often than not- has an older love interest. See what I’m getting at here?

Me, personally, I don’t even much like the idea of Pidge and Lance getting together until several seasons have passed and they’ve both had a chance to mature some. And by the time I’d like to see something happen between them, they’d both be well old enough. So the fact that she’s (widely believed to be) 14 at this point in the series really isn’t even relevant to me. It’s not a big enough gap to be concerning in my opinion. If she were 12 or younger (or if Lance was older than we can justly assume he is), I would absolutely be opposed to it, but that’s not the case. And given the fact that my own parents are TEN years apart, I think 2-5 years is, honestly, not a big deal.

So, I hope that’s helped you see the ship in a less discomforting light.

Note:The point of this analysis really wasn’t to make you like the ship (although that’d be a cool result), it’s only meant to clear up some of the big misconstrued facts surrounding the ship and its legitimacy. Also, to reiterate the fact that I DO NOT support ships that consist of a child and an adult, and if that were the case with Pidgance, I WOULD NOT ship it. I’ve done my research, no morals are being compromised in the shipping of these characters.

However, if for any reason you still are strongly opposed to this ship, that’s fine. My cup of tea doesn’t have to be yours. Unfortunately, there isn’t a lot that I can do in the way of helping you avoid it while still enjoying my content, tumblr is fairly limited in that respect. I could recommend that you track some of my personalized tags so you can be aware of when something of a particular theme is posted? Maybe bookmark my blog’s tag searches so you can just pop in for updates? Or, you could email the staff and see if they can help with your mobile blacklisting issue. That’s all I can really think of to work around the problem, love, I’m sorry I can’t be of more help.

Have a nice day, and God bless <3

I just wanted to say I love your writing! Do you think you could write a KageHina fan fiction based of your username? If you have time please do 😂

“Kageyama I swear, I fell asleep for like…two minutes, tops, and when I woke up they were just gone. Like that. Poof, into thin air.”

Kageyama scrubs a hand over his face, and sighs.

“You’re telling me,” he says, and he’s trying to be calm about it all, he is, but his jaw is already aching from the grind of his teeth and his forehead hurts from all the frowning, “that someone stole your shoes, right off your feet, and you didn’t even notice?”

Could I get a fic for sombra, widowmaker, and mercy where they're at some kind formal event. They don't see their s/o anywhere, but when they eventually do they almost don't recognize them because of how good they look. Their usually quiet and shy s/o is acting pretty suavely and asks them for a dance? I always get super hyped when I see this blog post new stuff. Keep up the good work!

The young hacker was always talented in people-watching. Occasionally she’d go out and check up on her “pets,” which were basically the interesting people of society she kept tabs on. Sombra found formal parties were often the best ways to get info; everyone’s obligated to be polite no matter how nosy the questions, some are liquored up to answer anything, get to know others intimately through dance…But she hated them so much. She had to sit up straight, eat with good manners, and not swear (not even in Spanish). It was nothing like home where she got to sit slouched in her computer chair eating sloppy take-out and cursing at the internet. Plus she had to go through great lengths in cosmetics so nobody would recognize her.

Not to mention the tight dresses. She didn’t understand how her “pets” were able to wear such stuffy things so often! Luckily, her s/o was with her on this mission, so maybe things would be a little more bearable. That is, if her partner would even show. They were supposed to be here half an hour ago! Sombra sat on the edge of the dance floor, watching everyone waltz around and trying to remind herself to sit up straight. Then, through the crowd of people, she spotted someone making their way through the dancers. Narrowing her eyes, she saw that it was her s/o!

They looked stunning, not at all how they looked on regular jobs. Their hair was done up all nice, a pearl necklace/watch on their wrist and a choker necklace/bowtie wrapped around their neck. Her partner smiled a little at her expression–mouth slacked a little and eyes wide. When they reached her, Sombra cleared her throat and shook her head.

“Uh, you look…You don’t look like you normally do on missions,” she said quickly.

“Does that mean I look good?” they chuckled.

“Shut up…” she smirked with a slight blush.

“Why don’t we dance?” they offered, holding out a hand, “Find your pet?”

“Let’s,” she nodded, taking their hand and letting them pull her into the dance.

Amelie saw murder as artistry. But nothing could be so artful as murdering a woman at a ballet. The dramatic music, the expressive dancers, the sniper hidden in the shadows as their scope pointed at the unsuspecting target–the target who would be enjoying their last moments staring at beautiful men and women. She should have been smiling evilly to herself about the whole thing, but she couldn’t help but feel a strange sadness. She stood on the deserted catwalk over the stage, leaning against the railing and staring longingly at the ballerina in center stage.

Widow practiced some of her dance moves in her spare time, but missed performing for large crowds. Her last performance was as Odette in Swan Lake, although for previous performances, she and the Odette dancer would switch roles. She had to admit, there were times she missed being…normal.

“Amelie,” came a soft voice from the other end of the catwalk.

She perked up to see her s/o who was also her spotter. Widow hadn’t seen them all evening since they had been patrolling the crowds for their target to show up. But upon seeing them now, she realized how dressed up they were. In order to blend in, they had to dress up all formal-like in a nice dress/tux which hugged their body perfectly. Widow was in her normal Talon getup, though now she wished she had worn something nice as well.

“W…” her words died in her throat at first, surprised to see them looking so handsome, “What are you doing up here? Shouldn’t you be down zere?”

“I came to tell you the target is on their way,” they explained, “A little late, but she’ll be in her box seat in a few minutes,”

“Why not tell me over your comm?” she asked.

“Security was eyeing me up, and I didn’t want to risk anything, so I thought I’d move up here with you,”

She sighed, “Very well. As long as we still have a target,”

Going back to her sad staring, her s/o approached and asked, “Something wrong?”

Amelie was silent for a few moments, watching the star of the show tiptoe across the stage on point.

“I used to be in the ballet, you know,” she mumbled, her eyes still locked on the stage.

“I know,” they nodded.

“I miss it so…” she sighed.

The star twirled around on stage right, another girl joining her in a duet as the music picked up. It reminded her of all the friends she used to have in the ballet and all the strenuous exercises and warmups they would endure together. But Talon had told her she didn’t need that anymore, though she felt slightly entitled to be only a little nostalgic.

“We could dance with them if you want,” her s/o offered.

“How?” she grunted bluntly.

“From up here,” they shrugged, “No one will see, but…I mean, I know a few ballet moves, so…”

They trailed off awkwardly as Amelie slowly leaned back from the railing, giving them a curious look. She had always practiced solo and in private, lest another agent see and tattle. Carefully she moved into her s/o’s arms, letting them sway her about the catwalk, occasionally letting them lift her. It had been a long time since she danced a duet, and she missed the reassuring arms of someone around her. They danced until the music began to pick up, both the main star and Amelie dancing faster and faster. Suddenly, she pushed off from her lover, spinning away from them on perfect point, pulled out her rifle, and shot the target.

“Smooth as silk,” she purred, “Zat was wonderful, love. Let’s get out of here,”

Mercy had attended many charity balls in her time. Any mention of helping the helpless and she was there, even hosting some of them herself. But this was the first time she had been to one with her s/o, and she was a little nervous for how it would go over. A lot of important people would be there, and she wanted to make a good impression…for charity of course. But her partner was just so tense and shy normally—not at all up for the fancy party scene.

Angela taught them formal ballroom dancing, and they learned it very well. But when she tried to teach them to walk with composure in a dress/suit, they’d always have a self-conscious hunch to their back. She practiced handshaking and conversation-making with them, too, but their hands felt like limp fish and they couldn’t bring up an interesting topic around strangers at all. And holding a martini glass properly was a concept they could never grasp. In the end, Mercy just told them to stay by her side for most of the night, and only to speak unless spoken to.

Now she was just waiting for them to get over their nervous breakdown in the hallway and join her in the ballroom. One of the sponsors and his friends were beginning to ask about them, and Angela wasn’t sure what excuse to make.

“Oh, well they’re just out getting some fresh air before the next dance,” she lied, “It gets a little warm in here with all the guests,”

“They’ve missed about six dances now,” one of the patrons pointed out, “They really shouldn’t miss another and we’re dying to meet them,”

“Hello! Hi! Sorry to keep you waiting!” a chipper voice rang.

Angela turned to see her partner elbow their way into the conversation, their shoulders back and a big smile on their face.

“Ah, you must be Doctor Ziegler’s suitor,” one of the patrons smiled and extended a hand.

Mercy cringed as she watched her s/o take their hand and…give it a surprisingly good shake.

“It’s nice to meet you all,” her partner nodded, “I was just getting a drink when I heard this song. It’s Angie and I’s favorite, so if you’ll excuse us,”

The sponsors all gave them a puzzled look as they hurried off to the dancefloor. Meanwhile, Angela got into the dance with her s/o, one hand on their shoulder and one in their hand.

“That was amazing!” she praised them excitedly, “You really pulled through!”

“Yeah, well I’m screaming internally,” they giggled nervously.

“So long as you don’t scream out loud,” she laughed.

Hi! I hope you don't mind me asking this but I read your meta about the characters you think are coded as gay and now I'll like to know your opinion on their respective partners' sexuality. I mean, what do you think about Historia, Bert and Erwin?

About this post.

Since nobody’s sexuality was fixed for any of the other characters, I assume they’re bisexual unless proven otherwise, meaning they have a large panel of options.

When it comes to characters like Grisha, who married women, had kids with them and felt sorrow when they’re gone, it’s safe to assume they’re straight. For a major portion of the characters, you can leave room for interpretation, despite arguments pointing otherwise. In example, according to his crush on Mikasa stated multiple times in multiple universes and him jerking off to an erotic book instead of working (cf. vol 7 fake preview), Jean being straight is valid. However, the counterarguments in there are he’s still young, which leaves enough room to figure out his sexuality. That and if you really take Sasha’s line in chapter 18 to the letter…

Jean and Eren clashing again - Ch. 18

That’d mean Jean’s a sexually confused teen. Unless he openly declares he’s “not interested in guys”, that is.

In the same vein, literally nothing is revealed about Zeke’s preferences, but the fact he’s born on yaoi day, like Reiner, could hint at him being gay, which nicely contrasts Grisha’s familial lifestyle. I’m really curious whether this is a hint or something connecting him to Reiner… or both.

Besides, I don’t want to exclude possible asexual characters, who have absolutely no interest in dating or marrying.

Not that it prevents shipping to ignore these facts, but that’s not the topic here.

On one side, you have Historia sticking to Ymir which definitely shows her interest towards her, on the other one, she feels completely pointless when she isn’t here, not really showing interest in anybody. As she said it herself…

Historia standing up - Ch. 68

…she’s one of those who get swept along by the flow.

To me it’s hard to say whether or not Historia is homosexual or bisexual, because she hasn’t shown any interest in men. She was more open to Eren than the others after Ymir left but his words weren’t the one who pushed her to refuse to become the next Founding Titan.

When asked if she had a particular type in the Smartpass AU interview

Krista: Hmm…erm, a kind person… I guess?
Ymir: Like I said, such vague answers is why you’re easily tricked.
Krista: Ugh… But I don’t really know. I don’t see many guys around anyway.
Ymir: They’re all around you and you didn’t even see them, huh… That is truly a sad thing…

She didn’t specify a gender. She was probably too fixated around Ymir because she fits the bill. Those said boys attempted to send her love letters but Ymir…

Krista: No, not really…
Ymir: Yeah, there were guys who wanted me to pass her their love letters, but I tore them up, and threw them away on the spot.
Krista: Ehh?! Those poor thing…
Ymir: Hmph. I ain’t handing my Krista over to spineless losers who lack the courage to even speak to her.

That’s something to witness on the long term (if there is a long term anyway) but it’s impossible for me to conclude on her sexuality so I’ll leave it vague.

Moving on to Erwin. I guess the closest we ever had about his romantic interests was this line:

“More interested in titans than Marie… there’s something wrong with you!”  - Ch. 53

His crush towards Marie happened when he and Nile were trainees (around 12-15 years old). This is the whole interest of letting characters mature before defining their sexuality, because you never know whether or not you have a late-bloomer. Erwin has never been in a romantic relationship after that.

Concerning his interest with Levi, I’ve explained myself here. More evidence is available on this post. Basically, Erwin opens himself to Levi more than his other subordinates and that’s indicative of a certain degree of affection for him. I’m assuming Erwin is bisexual because of the Marie thing, but even then I’m being large because compared to his life as a member of the SC and as a commander who’s facing death when confronting titans, that part was completely irrelevant.

And then there’s Bertolt.

I’m finding myself with another Historia-like case in the sense where he’s fixated to Reiner but also admires and respects his friends.

He’s constantly seen hanging around Reiner, even in the highschool AU (hell, even his description says he’s Reiner’s shadow!) and when asked if he had a type in the Smartpass AU, he blurted out in front of the journalist:

Oh my, it’s getting pretty heated up all of a sudden, huh. I suppose now is the best time to pose this question. “What’s your type?”

Bertolt: E-EEEHHH?!

Reiner: I like girls who are cute and like a goddess!

That’s a bold statement, Reiner. As for Bertolt…

Bertolt: I… I don’t really…

Reiner: What, you haven’t noticed? Nearly everyone realised that, you know?

Could you tell me more about it?

Bertolt: I-I told you, it’s ermm…

Let us now move onto a light-hearted question. “What is your type?” It’s something I asked earlier on…

Bertolt: I-I told you! I-I don’t really h-have anyone I like…

He didn’t mention anything specific and was embarrassed by the question. I want to note he was deliberately keeping secrets with Reiner about their true origins and identity, so everything here was meant to be read with a grain of salt.

There’s that crush thing on Annie that would nail him as bisexual, and while I’d label him as that to be inclusive, I don’t think that “crush” is very relevant as explained in this post.

So yeah, I’d gleefully label those three as bisexual with a strong leaning towards their respective partners. Evaluating sexuality in absence of concrete evidence is hard.

Hi! This is mainly a big thank you for everything you do! And big virtual hugs going your way (Only if you don't mind!)!! If you have the time, what was your opinion on the Third Years in Winners and Losers? I know you already talked a lot about them and how there were a lot of moments that were amazing, but was there a particular moment you really enjoyed or connected to?

Again, since this asks for a Winners and Losers review, this ask will be answered separately outside of the compilation post of answers that’ll follow later.  Full answer under the Read More to avoid spoilers!

(also hugs are my jammmm more please)

Nah but let me share this...
  • I went to a Dia De Los Muertos concert/event here in the bay. They had crafts and stuff for kids (and adults - my sugar skull I drew on the tortilla belongs in the MoMA but ok), they had Mexican hot chocolate (where the fuck they been hiding that shit all my life??) and pan de muerto. They had altars and everything. But once the show started, they had the forgettable damn-near all-white symphony open the event up (nobody was tryin to hear that shit. Was probably the venue sayin' they could only have the event there if they let the house artists perform, too). And then they had an the first all-female mariachi band come out.
  • Girl....
  • Let me tell you...
  • A. These ladies got pipes. B. The vocal range was unreal. C. I don't know how she had the diaphragm to hold her notes as long as she was. But also, the dude next to me was crying during certain songs. Skull face paint runnin n shit. I look two rows up, and the latinx aunties and grandmas are up there crying and shit, too. After their songs, they have the intermission.
  • Then they bring out this band from LA (both these groups won Grammies, mind you) and people start losing their shit. And when I say losing their shit, I mean recording shit on phones when phones weren't allowed, standing up in the middle of the rows and dancing and singing by themselves because they were feeling it so much, cryin, throwing hands up, all of that. They were screaming for an encore when they were done and got the band to do a curtain call.
  • Look.
  • Moral of the story.
  • That shit was not meant for me. And that was the beauty of it. As a black, American, non-latinx man, that shit was not my culture and it wasn't for me. But I was welcomed in to observe and it was absolutely gorgeous to see how happy and deeply people felt during those moments. Seeing how much they connected to that part of their culture to the point where they were in tears over it was amazing. And it was even more amazing that it wasn't for me. In my head, I kept thinking how white people are always sayin "culture is meant to be shared" and how they don't understand what that shit is supposed to mean. Culture is meant to be shared in a manner of observance, if you're an outsider. Culture being shared doesn't mean "I saw this, this is my culture now too." There's beauty in seeing other people enjoy their culture, being welcomed in to participate, but still recognizing that that's their shit and not your shit.
  • The end.

Ask and you shall receive I guess. ;)

Lilo future!fic, in which both are single, Liam’s got two kids, and I end up calling Liam’s first-born “James” because the fucker still hasn’t shared his actual baby’s name with us.

Liam was in over his head. He knew it, and it only served to annoy him further. This was stupid. He was a grown-ass man. He had kids for Christ’s sake!

There was absolutely no reason for him to angst over the meaning of a bloody text message.

Especially not one that said, Im not gonna comment until Ive tried it myself.

Louis had added the sunglasses emoji at the end, which was nice but didn’t help Liam figure out whether he was serious or not.

And knowing whether Louis was serious or not felt quite bloody important, considering the message Liam had sent him right before had been: Then she said i was lousy in bed, like, can you believe?!

Liam took a deep breath and closed his eyes.

on pidge’s role in klance fics

so i might be alone in this but like…. i’ve never really understood why in klance fics, pidge is always the one who (1) knows that lance and keith are interested in each other far before the boys themselves do and (2) is actively trying to get them together, or at least really wants them to be together??

this isn’t even to speak on how pidge (and hunk, and shiro, and basically everyone else) often seems to be written into a klance fic purely to add to the boys’ relationship and seldom has desires and motives of her own, which is a topic for another day. just like…. i don’t really get why she’s depicted this way SO OFTEN when i can’t really see much canonical evidence for this characterization of her tbh
