What we know for sure is that the events of the past few weeks have been anything but phony. Bombs over Rotterdam, and the Dutch are surrendering. German tanks crossing the Maginot Line into France. And in old London Town the tension is rising as a nation asks itself “Will we be next?”
But the world has changed. The future is uncertain. And in the opinion of this humble reporter…
I’m abroad so don’t have my tablet but I decided to give watercolours a go and draw Symmetra in her pretty Oasis skin! Didn’t really have time to work on it long so it’s kinda messy, I’m also just learning paints so yeah, how the hell do you colour blend… But I kinda like it! I recently came across your art and wow the colours, subjects and special sort of serenity in your illustrations had me interested right away. I was also wondering how you colour your lines the way you do, or how you pick colour schemes, because they always look really really good!
Initially I almost always pick the wrong color, there tends to be a lot of ‘selective color’ or ‘hue/saturation’ happening before I feel OK about it. Also light/transparent single-color layers on ‘color burn’ or ‘hue’ or some such blending mode, to create a bit of unity in the picture. Play around with whatever program you’re using and don’t give up until you feel like, yes, this is good enough.
For general color principles I think I’ve been asked about it before but the usual: avoid ‘pure’ primary colors, ie pick ‘turquoise’ or ‘violet’ before blue, ‘salmon’ or ‘wine red’ over just plain ‘red’ etc. Mix up your brighter colors with duller ones, decide on a few shades you want to stand out then use varying degrees of ‘dirty colors’ for the rest. Those aren’t rules exactly but the easiest way of getting a decent result imo
so I just finished reading the Thrawn Trilogy and had to do a thing because wow Grand Admiral Thrawn was really great
I really appreciated how he was basically the exact opposite of Vader, yet made an incredibly badass antagonist and by the end I just wanted to see him continue throwing his military prowess against the New Republic and treating his subordinates with reasonable working conditions and holding Art Appreciation Thursdays
WE COULD HAVE HAD IT AALLLLLLL I mean what even was that ending sure it was fitting but STILL
