A/N: Oh my god you guys!!  I have so much to discuss but first and foremost I want to thank all of you for making this story into what it is.  I started this story two weeks ago and in those two weeks I’ve gained almost 2000 followers and have had success that I never even dreamed of.  Thank you so much for all that you’ve done for me, for this story, and hopefully for stories I write in the future!!! Skyline wouldn’t be what it is today without you guys.  Secondly, there will be a pt. 7!!!  I know I keep saying this, but I really did mean for this to be the last part.  It’s just that there are so many things I want to include and plot points I want to flesh out, and although I feel bad for writing angst chapter after angst chapter, I want to give you guys my all and I don’t want to short change you.  Finally, I would like to thank my friends Zoe and Jen for helping me brainstorm ideas and helping finalize details and plot points.  I love you guys so so much!!  Also, everyone, again, I DO NOT HAVE A TAGS LIST!!! I put this at the beginning of every chapter, it’s in my bio, and I’ve made multiple posts but people keep spamming me about it.  I am truly not trying to be mean, but I do my best to respond to every ask and message I get, and having to sort through a million people asking the same question is hard guys!!!.  Before, I go, one last thing: because everyone has sent me in songs that they listen to that remind them of Skyline, I compiled them into a playlist along with ones I listen to!!  Please give it a listen and try to listen in order, as the songs follow the storyline.  Link is below.  Enjoy everyone!!

{part i} {part ii} {part iii} {part iv} {part v}

Waking up the next morning was hard.  Sleep was like temporary amnesia, and when you awoke alone in bed, your hand automatically reached out for the note that Spider-Man always left before he disappeared every night.  Instead of feeling the usual smooth sheet of paper, however, you felt empty sheets that seemed colder than ever before.  It was then that the events of the previous night tumbled into your head, from your request to know Spider-Man’s identity, to him saying I love you for the first time, to you giving him up.

You groaned and rubbed your hand across your face, fatigue taking over.  More than anything, you wanted to fake an illness, stay in bed all day, and wallow in your thoughts, but you knew you had to get up. Although the breakup hurt you (did it count as a breakup if you were never really together in the first place?), you knew you made the right choice.  There was no way a relationship with a superhero would work out if the significant other didn’t know who they were; if you were to fall in love, you would need to be able to fall completely.

I recommend rereading part 4 before starting this chapter!!!

You wake up on a Sunday morning with a sigh. Now you perfectly understand the meaning of that one saying. As if you’re a schoolgirl and it’s finally the last day of your holidays. But in your case you haven’t missed what’s to come even for a bit.

But this time, you decide not to sulk and make the most of the day which will probably be the last one you’ll ever spend with your complete family. Negative thoughts try to find their way into your mind but this time you do your best to keep them out and just enjoy last Sunday you’ll spend happily.

You won’t ruin it.

You quickly get out of the bed. this time you don’t wake up next to your almost ex-husband which is quite a disappointment, but then you sneak a look inside Tae’s room and see him hugged by his father in sleep. And it’s quite enough for you. You can share Jongin with your son even if you’re very selfish.

You don’t lose time swooning over the perfect picture and step inside the bathroom to get ready for the day. After washing up and putting on a comfortable sundress, you head to the kitchen. You plan to make this day perfect for everyone and in your family’s case that means food.

Although you like the thought of healthy diet, the thought of Jongin and Tae’s happiness when they see fried chicken for breakfast is enough persuasion you need.

Time goes quickly while you do everything to make sure that the “breakfast” table is flawless. And just when you’re about to put the last plate on it, you hear footsteps and soon both of your favorite boys step inside the kitchen. You don’t know who’s more excited when seeing what they’re about to eat.

“You’re just in time for breakfast.” You say with a big smile, even though it’s already half past two in the afternoon, it’s normal with Jongin and Tae who goes after his father in everything.

“The smell woke us up.” Jongin can’t take his eyes off the table. “This smells so good, how could we have slept more.” He laughs and sits next to Tae. They’ve both already started devouring the food.

“Wow this is really good.” Jongin comments. “I haven’t tasted anything better for a while, where did you order this?” he asks while handing Tae the neck of chicken. “Start with this.” He adds.

“I made this actually.” You say quietly. Jongin stops and widens his eyes while chewing slowly. “Mommy is the best cook ever, isn’t she?” Tae says with a full mouth. You laugh and wipe his lips.

“Yeah, she is.” Jongin says quietly and you feel your cheeks redden. It’s like you’re returned to high school phase, or just the start of your friendship with Jongin. Not as if you’ve spend years next to him.

Almost an hour passes when the three of you are finally finished with the food. Tae tries to keep up with his dad whose tummy seems to have a hole and is never satisfied. But when the plates are finally empty Jongin suggests watching television so the three of you move to the living room and get comfortable on the couch.

And that’s how the last day (as you hate to call it) is spent. Nothing is special but amazing at the same time. The only time either of you move is to get to the bathroom or get the next fill of snacks. You’re watching cartoons and the Disney movies even Jongin enjoys singing along to.

When the sun is set, Tae runs to his room to get his favorite blanket and returns jumping in his father’s lap. He covers both of them with it and grabs your arm to bring you closer. You’re hesitant at first – you don’t want to make Jongin uncomfortable, but then you see them all cuddly and warm and there’s nothing that can hold you back from joining.

You move closer slowly also getting under the blanket but keeping some distance from your husband but you’re surprised, that when your neck is getting too uncomfortable for it to be laying naturally, Jongin is the one to pull his arm around you and let it rest against his shoulder, right in the position where you can also reach to kiss Tae’s head. You didn’t expect it. Definitely didn’t but for the first time in a month you feel that you’re warm again and you hadn’t even realized how frozen your body had become, deprived of his warmth.

There’s something different about him. Always has been. Just like no heating system can warm you up as well as a walk under the sun can, Jongin’s arms are the same. He’s your personal sun, your only natural way to life.

You can’t even imagine how much you crave for it.

After a while you realize that Tae has fallen asleep on his father’s chest. But you can’t blame him. Jongin is just so warm and so comfortable all you want to do is to finally get the good night’s sleep peacefully for once. But the other part forces you to stay awake to remember every single second of the time you finally felt so, so happy.

In that moment you clearly realize one thing.

He’s here. With a woman who will soon become his ex-wife. And there’s one logical question jumping in your mind.

“Jongin?” you call out, quietly enough not to wake up your son.

“Yes?” he answers, so softly that you never want that sound to leave your ears.

“How does she feel about you being here?” you drop the question, you’re truly curious about. But nothing could surprise you more than what Jongin says next.

“Who?” he asks.

You don’t know if you’re imagining it, or that you’re already stepped into your nightly dream, but you think his fingers are slowly caressing your arm. He truly seems to not recognize who you’re talking about.

“Fei.” You answer with a single word. That name won’t ever leave your memory.

You look up at Jongin secretly and see momentary confusion dwell in his eyes.

“Oh, her.” He adds and stays quiet for a moment. “Well I don’t think she likes that I’m here. She told me not to come.” He says quietly.

Of course she doesn’t. As negatively as you might be inclined towards that girl you understand that she wouldn’t want Jongin to stay over here. But you can’t sympathize when she’s the one going after a still-to-be-divorced man.

Soon after another thought occupies your mind. You know it’s childish to compare how Jongin treats Fei to how he treated you, but she told him not to come and here he is, in your living room. Not once would Jongin ever make you uncomfortable with his decisions when he lived with you. In the good old times he wouldn’t have left you alone like he did with Fei.

You’re absolutely sure of that and that thought makes you even warmer inside. Curling deeper into Jongin’s chest you have no negative thoughts raiding your mind.

On a Monday morning Jongin wakes up just on time without the need of an alarm clock. Slowly dressing in his formal attire he proceeds to the bathroom and kisses the head of his son who’s diligently brushing his teeth. Next he walks inside the kitchen and sees her.

She turns around to look at him and doesn’t even try to form a smile. Jongin can see how the light that was so bright inside her eyes yesterday is now completely gone. Breakfast goes in a quiet matter, so unusual to this happy household. Jongin offers to take Tae to Kindergarten and soon sees his son jumping inside his backseat. Moving like a robot she walks over and fixes his tie, he doesn’t even notice it was crooked. Well she was always better at handling it anyway.

Turning around she slides a sheet of paper in front of him, Jongin looks closely and sees lots of too professional words he hates so much.

“I signed it.” she says quietly. “Like I promised. You’re free.” That’s it. just a little doodle of Jongin’s signature is needed and everything will be over. Isn’t it what he wanted? Without a word he slides the papers inside his laptop bag and walk to the door.

Similar to the times before she walks him to the door and just like it used to be usual, he kisses her forehead and says “Bye”. But this time it doesn’t feel like usual at all.

The day goes as usual for you. Just like it’s been this past month. You go to work, use your lunch period to pick up Tae and chew on a small bun to get you through the day. You make sure Tae doesn’t mess around and does his homework, then you take his hand and go back to the journey back home. You unlock the house, take off your coat, wash Tae’s hands and heat up the dinner you cooked the previous day. As if everything is the same but at the same time nothing is.

Even if usually you always manage to put a smile on your face just for the sake of your son, today you can’t. Today you can’t force yourself anything. You don’t have enough energy. And you know Tae feels it. Not just your feelings but you can see the same mood from him. Your son hasn’t smiled all day and you hate it. You hate it more than anything.

You know what changed. The hope is gone. Even if you spent the month alone you hoped, you wished Jongin would wake up and just come back, for you the bright future of your family wasn’t torn. You still hoped, deep down in your heart. Now you know it’s over. You lost. You lost him.

You finally manage to set the table managing not to break down seeing the number of plates. You will stay strong for your child. He deserves to have you properly functioning. Tae comes from his room slowly and sits down by your low table.

“Eat well, Tae.” You smile warmly and reach to kiss his head. He smiles too. And how can a five year old’s smile even be so full of sadness.

You’re just about to eat when you hear the lock of your front door open. You don’t know what to think. Your motherly instincts are reaching for Tae in case of a burglary. Why would a burglar step inside your house so calmly, it’s irrational you know, but you can’t give yourself any false hope that maybe what you think is happening, is actually happening.

You’re only looking at Tae, afraid to look straight at the entrance and you see your son’s face change. From curiosity to confusion and finally a shy and timid smile forms on his face.

“Daddy.” He calls.

You finally look forward.

“Started dinner without me?”

Jongin is standing with his suitcase, dressed warmly in a winter coat, his shoes are already neatly arranged in their proper place. There’s a small pout on is face for emphasis.

He looks godly.

He looks like home.

Tae looks lost, but you’re sure you’re even more confused. But your son fixes himself in a second and runs to hug his dad, like he would every day. Your son can control himself very well, but you’re sure Jongin can also see just how happy he is to see his dad, home.

You don’t let down your guard yet.

You stay frozen at your seat.

“Ahh, today was such a tiring day at work, I can’t even stand on my feet.” Jongin yawns and takes off his coat. “I’ll go wash my hands. Y/N can you please check my bag? There’s so much trash in there from work, could to throw it out? Or I’ll forget and it’ll stay there for days…” he continues talking down the hallway, his voice slowly disappearing.

I have to add a plate you think, but first, you walk over and pick up Jongin’s suitcase, opening the zip. You see paper, torn to little pieces. Torn so fiercely you wouldn’t have recognized it hadn’t you put it here in the morning.

It’s the divorce papers.

And even though they’re destroyed, you can clearly see, there’s not a trace of Jongin’s signature.

description: Gryffindor’s star seeker is in danger of being disqualified from participating in their upcoming match against Slytherin due to his less than stellar grade in potions. You’re forced into tutoring him… however you didn’t know that would entail the two of you being at the library, after hours, underneath an invisibility cloak, where you quickly learn that quidditch isn’t the only thing Kim Taehyung excels in.

You felt yourself racing down the corridors as the thoughts of today’s lesson fueled the excitement in your steps. Professor Snape was going to be showing your class how to concoct wolfsbane potion. The thought of being able to reduce the madness that comes along with lycanthropy pumping excitement throughout your entire body—which in hindsight is probably how you managed to run smackdab into the wolf himself; Kim Taehyung.

Your vision flicked upwards, locking onto the obvious smirk of his lips as his hands made their way to your sides as he steadied your body. You immediately roll your eyes as you throw away any attempt at the fake apology you were going to issue him. You swiftly grab his arms, yanking them from your sides, before shooting him a venomous glare.

Nine Months, touken fanfic

Summary: Four different stages of Touka’s pregnancy. Probably shortly after chapter 128. One-shot.

Rating: fluff, romantic, a bit of angst? | Words: 8,125 words | Read on: AO3 // FF.net | If you like it, please reblog!

A/N: many of you wanted a touken pregnancy fic so here it is! i’m very satisfied with the result even if it was a bit hard to finish ;w; and hopefully it’s not too angsty, i’d say it’s quite corny, haha, but we deserve that after so much drama. There was a Touka/Ayato scene that I REALLY wanted to write for this fic but I didn’t have time, so I think I’m going to write it tomorrow and post it as a mini-fic headcanon, like a small excerpt of this story (an ova, lmao). Again, thank you everyone for reading!! feedback is always welcome :’)

“Kaneki.”

He stops, tilting his face to one side to look at her.

“Yes?” he’s still smiling, softly, gently, beautifully.

She decides that this is the last thing she will see before closing her eyes. Kaneki smiling. She doesn’t want to see his face afterward, she doesn’t hold the courage to do so. So she takes a deep breath, closing her eyes, picturing that very same face in her head, holding onto his expression, frowning her brows as she speaks, terrified and quivering.

“I’m pregnant.”

Silence.

All that she hears is silence.

He’s not even breathing. She can’t even hear his heart beating, she can’t even feel his arms around her, her body is numb, her ears are deaf, her senses are broken.

Chapter 5

The loud slamming of a drawer pulls you from your day dream. Business had been slow that day and you found yourself glancing at the clock often. So, when you hear Steve grumbling behind you you’re glad for the distraction.

“Where are they?” he mumbles to himself, rifling through the nicknack drawer in the workbench.

“Where’s what?” you ask spraying a fresh bunch of wild flowers with water. Steve doesn’t acknowledge you but simply moves to the next drawer. He slams the drawer so hard it rattles the workbench and that’s when you put your sprayer down and walk over to him.

“Steven Grant Rogers, if you don’t quit that I’m going to put you in a time out” you grumble and Steve turns looking bashful.

Chapter One HELLION

Summary: A swift stab to the heart, that was all it took. It should be a simple task, but dealing with Kylo Ren was anything but simple. People called him Lucifer, because it was said that he grew bored in hell and came to terrorize the humans instead. You didn’t believe the tales. Yes, he was an extremely powerful vampire, strong enough to unite the clans under his rule, despite this you believed for every vampire there was a hunter that could take them down. And just maybe, that could be you.

A/N: Renne and I have been planning this fic for a bit and decided it’d be perfect to put out now since it’s October! And, like I said, I wanted to put out ‘spooky’ fics. I’m happy to be releasing this right when the month starts! Enjoy!

“Oh. Okay.”
“I have to be up early tomorrow. But I was thinking… I want you to come to a barbecue with me. It’s at my house, and uh…” He smiled. “Then I want you to stay,” he finished. You smiled back and nodded.

“Sounds good. When is it?”
“Next Saturday.”
“I’ll be there.”
“Great. I’ll transfer the money to your account tomorrow, that okay?” he asked and squeezed your thigh. You were so turned on that all you could do was nod. Richard chuckled and let go.

“No Jungkook, I will not c’mon! You should have walked away when you could have. You should have left it alone and come back home.”

Author’s Note: So basically I was sitting at my school library at like 11 PM and suddenly felt inspired. On my old blog I had invisioned doing a sort of AU that involved passing off all the BTS members off different Shamelss TV show characters. I did a few different chapters but it never went past that, so this is sort of me re-imagining all of that and taking a different spin on it. Also a head’s up for anybody that reads my works, I rarely proof-read and I’ve never been one to post super long fics so please enjoy my half assed one-shots  ❤ ❤

Chapter 1 | Chapter 3 |  Chapter 4

AO3 | ff.net

Emma’s face grows even paler, a feat he’d not thought possible, her lips pulled into a tight line.

He’s sure he looks much the same, his sudden realization having turned his veins to ice, his stomach twisting uncomfortably and his heart made of lead. He’s felt this before - on two separate occasions ( three , a traitorous voice in his head supplies, reminding him once again of how Liam was snatched back from the clutches of death only to succumb as soon as they thought they were free) - and the depth of it shakes him. She is not Milah. She is not Liam. And yet -

“What kind of poisons?” She interrupts his thoughts, biting off the words through clenched teeth.

He needs the acid in her tone to bring him back, to distract him even, but when he looks at her that familiar feeling once again lodges itself in his chest, tenterhooks that refuse to let go. “There’s at least a dozen I know of, and probably several dozen more that I don’t.”

“You said there was nothing on that arrow.” It’s not quite an accusation, but close enough.

“I said there was no Dreamshade on that arrow.” He picks it up once more, examining it. “Whatever was on it either stayed inside you or isn’t visible to human eyes.”

“Any ideas?” her voice wobbles on the words.

“Well, we can cross Dreamshade off the list.” He regrets the words the instant they leave his mouth, and her eyes grow hard when she hears them.

Character Development- Part 1- April

Description: Dan’s gay. Phil’s straight. They meet when Phil dates one of Dan’s friends. When everyone but Dan betrays Phil, they manage to become best friends. Then, it’s up to them to brave the first year of high school together. However, Dan has some underlying feelings he just can’t shake. And Phil… Well, that’s where the character development comes in.

Genre: Fluff, some angst in the future

Word Count: 1254

A/N: This first chapter is kinda boring to be honest but I swear it starts getting much better in the next chapter this is kinda just like the introduction with necessary information to push the story forward just stick with me okay

“Louise, Dan, you’ll be upstairs decorating the locker.” Dan nodded, ecstatic about the birthday surprise for Janice. He found it so cute that Phil was organizing the whole thing for his girlfriend. “And I’ll be downstairs in the band room with Janice, distracting her.” Dan watched as Phil jotted down the entire plan in his notebook.

“But I always go to the band room with Janice in the morning as soon as we get off the bus. Won’t she be suspicious if I leave her?” Louise questioned.

“Just say you need to use the bathroom. She’ll be fine, I’ll be with her.” Louise nodded, satisfied with Phil’s response. Dan didn’t blame her for questioning, though. Everything had to be perfect for Janice’s 13th birthday.

“So…” Dan could sense the devious tone in Louise’s voice when she spoke to Phil. “Are you going to kiss her?”

Phil went red. “I don’t know… I want to, but I also don’t, you know? I don’t know if we’re ready.”

Dan decided to butt in before this went too far. “It’s your choice, Phil. Do what you think is right.”

“I do have this ring to give her, though. I don’t have it now, but I’ll bring it for her birthday tomorrow. If I’m going to do it, that would be the time.” Phil slammed his notebook shut as Janice walked up to the lunch table with her tray.

“Hey, guys!”

“Oh, hey, Janice.” She sat down beside Phil, digging into her lunch.

“Funny story,” Janice said. “This morning, on the bus, a little kid blew a snot rocket all over Jared.” The entire group burst out laughing. Jared was the most annoying kid in the 7th grade, and it was always hilarious when he finally met his downfall.

“Little kids…” Dan sighed. His school system kinda was a piece of shit. The county was so small that they didn’t have a middle school; only an elementary school and a high school. The next year they would finally escape. But until then, they were stuck with kindergarteners and their snot rockets.

“Are you excited for your birthday tomorrow, Janice?” Louise asked, trying to make conversation.

“I guess so. It’s just… Growing up is so weird.”

“True that,” Phil chimed in.

“But I am excited for the party you’re all invited to Saturday. Except you, Phil.”

“What? Why?” Phil retorted, offended.

“My parents won’t let me have boys over.”

“What about Dan?”

“Well, he’s gay.”

The group laughed. “She’s not wrong,” Dan responded. It was common knowledge that he was incredibly gay. It was quite obvious. He’d been hanging out with girls and swooning over boys since the second grade. Although he couldn’t quite remember what, or who, for that matter, made him realize he was gay.

“How rude!” Phil said, jokingly angry about not being invited to Janice’s party.

“Hey.” Dan grinned. “Sometimes it pays to be fabulous.”

“You didn’t kiss her?” Louise said as the three walked down the hallway at the end of Janice’s birthday.

“It just didn’t seem like the right time.” Phil shrugged.

“Lay off him!” said Dan. “It’ll happen eventually. Besides, we’ve got more important things to worry about. In case you’ve forgotten, tomorrow is the band concert!”

“True that.” If there was one phrase that described Dan’s entire group of friends, it would be ‘band nerds’. Dan, Phil, and Janice all played percussion, and Louise played flute. With their spring concert the next day, they could only hope they were ready. And if they weren’t, they’d have a whole day at the high school the next day to prepare. Bless the all day band day.

“Did I hear band concert?” Janice came up from behind the three, squeezing in between Dan and Phil as they walked. “Oh yeah, that reminds me. I won’t be there for the all day band day. I have to get my spacer put in. I’ll be there around lunch though.”

“You’ll be fine,” Phil said. “Before lunch is just sectionals anyway. “Dan and I can survive alone through that bullshit.”

“Yeah. We’ll see you after lunch!”

“Okay, cool. See you guys tomorrow!” The four diverged to their buses and Dan took his usual seat in the back after wading through a sea of snotty, tiny children. Only one more month, he reminded himself. Only one more month.

It wasn’t until they arrived at the high school and set up their sectionals that Dan realized how little time he’d spent with Phil one on one. Phil had just joined their friend group when he started dating Janice a few weeks ago, and since then the entire group was together. But since Janice wasn’t there for sectionals and Dan didn’t know anyone else there, he ended up spending the morning with Phil.

Dan rolled his eyes as the percussion instructor told them to play on the backs of chairs. “Oh great. More trash.” Phil chuckled.

They were told to play straight eighth notes, but instead Dan played one of the rhythms from one of the songs they would be playing in the concert. Phil took notice and began playing a rhythm of his own. The two rocked out in the far corner as the instructor corrected the sixth graders. Laughing, they stopped as they were cut off by the conductor. Phil was actually pretty cool, Dan realized. For a straight guy, he was really accepting and nice, and Dan appreciated it. Finishing up their exercise, they broke for lunch.

“Where’s Janice? She said she’d be back for lunch and lunch is almost over.” Twenty minutes later, Dan and Phil were both starting to become concerned.

“There she is!” Dan said, pointing down to the gym floor as he took a bite of his sandwich. They were eating antisocially at the top of the bleachers.

“Hey, guys!” Janice climbed the bleachers and sat down with her lunch. “How’s it going?”

“Good,” Phil replied. “Sectionals were boring. The actual runthroughs start this afternoon. Can’t wait for the concert, man!”

“Me neither,” Dan said. “Only a few more hours…”

“Where’s Phil?” Dan asked Louise. “I hear he’s wearing a purple bow tie.”

“Oh my gosh, I need to see this. Let’s find him and touch the bow tie. It has to be done.”

“Agreed.”

“Dan, check the bathroom.” Dan went into the boys’ bathroom and made his way through all the boys changing into their concert clothes. Finally, he found Phil combing his hair.

“Oh my gosh, the bow tie!” Dan poked it before bringing Phil out to Louise and letting her do the same.

“Yeah, yeah. The bow tie is great, I know. Let’s just get out of this madhouse and get some fresh air.” Agreeing with Phil, they all walked outside to find Janice and a few of their other friends chatting. Dan pulled out his phone, pulling up the camera.

“Hey guys! Smile!” Dan took a selfie of them all before Phil stole the phone out of his hand. “Hey!”

He held the phone up, taking a picture of him and Janice. She took it and took a few of herself before taking a picture of the whole group. “Hey, Kaden! Take a picture of us all!” The group lined up and pointed cheesily at the camera as Kaden, an outsider who Janice knew, took the pictures.

Taking his phone back, Dan smiled as he looked through the pictures. The one of Janice and Phil was especially cute. The filter they had put on it looked great, and the two looked wonderful in their concert clothes. Dan was happy his friend had finally found such a great guy. The future looked bright for them all. After all, they only had one month left before the summer before high school. What could possibly go wrong?

Compared to some of the children you have nannied, these are absolute angels. Minor tantrums are quickly resolved, there has only been a couple of times food has been refused at dinner and the way toys are put away after playtime is remarkable. Basically, you’ve struck gold with this family.

So when they’re all dressed, coats and shoes done up, waiting by the front door ready to take Bucky to his meeting, and you have to go searching for him in order to leave, it all feels the wrong way round. Calling out his name into the quiet house, you get no reply. Looking at your watch you notice that if you don’t leave soon you’ll be late so when you find him thirty seconds later you’re relieved.

He’s sat on his bed, fully dressed, and you cringe at his shoes on the duvet, but the look on his face stops you from commenting.

“Are you, er, ready?”

His breathing is slightly laboured and he half shrugs, licking his lips and letting his head fall back against the pillows.

Countryside bathed in brilliant summer sunlight and hills covered in weeds and daisies was all Riley saw as she climbed out of her taxi. In less than 48 hours she’d be reunited with her friends for the summer and the excitement of it all was starting to get to her.

The six of them, herself included, made a plan to spend 3 weeks of the summer before sophomore year in Texas on Lucas’ family ranch. After incessantly begging her parents to let her go, they finally agreed and she spent every second after that looking forward to the trip. She hadn’t seen any of her friends since before her family left for London so getting to spend 3 weeks with them in the sun was everything to her.

School in the UK lets out earlier than school in the US so Riley arrived in Texas a day and a half before the rest of the gang would. Her parents didn’t see the point in paying to fly her out to NY just so she can take another flight to Texas. So instead she hopped on a plane from London straight to Austin.

Lucas’ grandfather was more than willing to help her get settled in and show her the ropes of country life. He took a real liking to her the last time she visited, back in middle school, so he was excited to have her back.

Riley took a deep breath and looked around at the hot and cloudless lazy summer day. She had to cover her eyes for the sun was too bright but once her eyes adjusted she couldn’t help but let out a soft gasp at her surroundings. She forgot how beautiful it was.

She breathed in the fresh air around her and let out a genuine smile.

Zen:
  • He thinks its amazing that you’re known for your creativity and skill– Sighs and wishes he could be known like that with acting; But instead its all about his looks and voice in that area. But you, You’re known for ripping out hearts, stepping on them, and killing off fan favorites at a minutes notice. And he loves you for it, you sadistic little angel you.
  • Regardless he doesn’t really understand how hard writing actually is since.. he’s never really written before? One of those people that think you just throw a few words down and bam you’re done like no baby. no. we all wish it could be like that.
  • So he’s really surprised to see the process of it all; The writers block, the procrastinating, the editing and re-reading, the doubting yourself, then the random spurts of creativity where all you do is sit and write for hours. And he’s really never seen something more frustrating. It looks like such a tedious thing, he definitely takes back what he said about it being easy.
  • “ And she took the blade into her palms… No– That doesn’t sound right.. ” He watched with wide eyes as you wrote and rewrote sentences over and over again, he thought everything sounded fine? But you didn’t seem to like it. He knew you were tired, he’s told you multiple times to take a break but you refused. Insisting you had to get at least one chapter done tonight if anything.
  • He just sighs at your stubbornness with a knowing smile, offering you some tea or hot cocoa which you graciously accept. He’ll even try and help you with writing by sitting on the couch beside you and letting you read what you’ve written to him. Rereading it helps you catch mistakes and odd phrases or sentences, which is helpful. But he always says “ It sounds fine? Why are you deleting it? ” Z e n.
    Jumin:
    • I feel like Jumin someday would love to write a memoir of some sorts, so when he finds out you’re an author he thinks thats perfect– You could help him with it if you’re feeling up to it.
    • But seeing how stressed and busy you usually are makes him not want to bring up the idea. He cant believe writing could be this tedious. He gives you a little room in his house as an office for you to work in and you’re in it constantly. When he comes home from work thats the first place he checks, surrounded with stress relieving candles and a cup of whatever you’re liking at the moment. He begs you to come to bed with him, but seeing as you wont budge he’ll pull up a chair and stay with you.
    • “ You’re adding too many big words. Your targeted audience wont understand a lot of that. ” Oh, he’s right. Actually its nice to have Jumin reading over your shoulder. Stressful as hell but he catches mistakes quickly and gives his honesty on certain phrases and sentences; since he’s read practically billions of books in his 27 years.
    • Eventually you get the chapter done after nearly a week and sheepishly show it to him. He reads it with a concentrated expression, not willing to give away any hint of emotion.
    • When he’s all done you ask him what he thinks about it. “ Its lovely, you capture the scenery beautifully and the emotions of your characters. I enjoyed it; as will others, my love. ” He praises you for your hard work by giving you a kiss on the top of the head and rubbing your (very sore) back softly. He’s proud of you. and youre pretty damn proud of yourself too? this man better give you a back rub for hours tonight because sitting at a desk for so long nearly killed you holy shit
    Yoosung:
    • Oh boy does he wish he had your patience and skill. never would admit this but he really lowkey wants you to write LOLOL fanfiction of his characters for him
    • He cant believe how much you work though. It seems like you’re on your laptop for decades on end and he hates it! Usually spends an hour or two on LOLOL before getting bored and checking up on you.
    • Aaaand youre still at your laptop looking like you’re ready to kill a man. Lovely.
    • “ MCCC…. ” He’s so whiney when you overwork yourself. He wants attention badly but you tell him youre busy. even though we all know you’ve been staring at that empty screen contemplating the meaning of life for hours now. dont lie.
    • Snuggles into your side and asks you about what your writing and such. He sees obviously not much progress being done on the screen, but he’s pretty sure you know that already..
    • Eventually he’ll encourage you to write for five minutes, take a quick break to stroke his hair and pay attention to the movie he put on ages ago, then return back to your five minutes of writing. It wasn’t much, but he didn’t want to complain.
    Jaehee:
    • Shes thought about becoming an author in the past; but never ended up taking it up. shes written zen fan-fiction before though so she knows a little somethin’ somethin’ about writing.
    • She finds herself cleaning your office a lot. Theres so many coffee cups in here MC. Did you sleep last night?
    • My character slept does that count?
    • No.
    • She eventually gives up on trying to place a schedule with you since you’re always tucked away inside that gross little office you could practically call home. So investing in a laptop for you was a much needed decision; make or break sort of thing. You can write and be within ten feet of her at the same time cant you?
    • Learns to adapt to your odd and unhealthy writing schedule as long as she can still snuggle with you while you’re at it. And you’re sweet enough to turn down the brightness of the screen when its late at night too so it doesn’t hurt her eyes, so sweet.
    • She loves to read your past books while you work and ends up curiously asking for some slight spoilers, which you don’t exactly tell her since.. Well you don’t really know yourself. She finds this funny though that you wrote the book but you don’t even know how it ends. But yet gets a bit excited thinking of all the power she has by being your girlfriend… 10/10 WILL crush you with her thighs if you kill off her favorite character.
    Seven:
    • MC CANYOUWRITEME
    • He’s always asking you to write the weirdest shit for him just because you know how? seven I will not write a Yooseven / LOLOL crossover au. and dont break the forth wall youre scaring me.
    • Probably out of everyone he knows how hard it is on you to sit at a desk and stare at a screen when you need to get something done. Hacking and writing are different even if he insists otherwise, writing a small haiku into the programming of your computer to prove his point. *finger guns* why are you like this
    • He hates how you leave for so long to write but he gets its your job. He just wishes it wasn’t. So he gets insanely whiny about it, knocking on your office door and coming in asking “Are you all done now?” almost every five minutes. Luciel. Sh. Focus time.
    • You end up locking him out of the room but he doesnt take that very well and turns to passing notes under the crack of the door;
      “ Are you done now.. .. .. …… . . ”
With his signature mini seven doodle attached or sometimes a poorly drawn elizabeth the 3rd in the corner. He was distracting you and he knew it, but he never stops until you’re chasing him halfway across the house with a broom to get him to shoo.
    • Eventually he might give up, but thats rare. You have no choice but to let him in and allow him to spin around on a wheely chair while you give him spoilers for upcoming chapters. He always gives you, quite dramatic, feedback; like gasping loudly whenever you say something “ intense ” is going to happen to your characters. Or trying to convince you to kill every single character in a fit of rage and passion. No Saeyoung. No. N'aw.. He thought it would be a great idea.

Mystic Messenger High School AU

Word Count: 1,250

~Merry Christmas everyone. Sorry this has taken me so long. This chapter is not super lengthy. But I expect the next one to be. Thanks so much for your patience and understanding on this. I’ve been really blocked lately (on top of just busy with life in general) and am working through it!

“Father left on another business trip this morning,” Jumin spoke matter-of-factly and flicked his cigarette, “so you’re all welcome to come to the yacht tonight.”

“Oh, another yacht party! Thank you, papa Han!” Saeyoung smiled from behind his phone.

“Don’t call him that,” Jumin warned.

     “I’ll bring beer,” Zen boasted.

“There will be plenty of alcohol supplied by me. No need to bring your cheap piss water,” Jumin replied.

“Excuse me, richie-rich. Not all of us can afford to buy $700 bottles of wine. I’ll take my ‘piss water’ over the alcohol daddy bought you any day.”

“Okay, okay, that’s enough you two,” V stepped in with a calm voice to interject.

Yoosung was now shoving his books back into his bag with a groan.

“My parents would never let me out that late…I’d have to sneak out to borrow the car,” he whined, “are you going?” he asked you.

“Me? I don’t know,” you shrugged.

“I’ll pick you up. It’s not a problem. I’ll have V’s car today anyway, right?” Saeyoung looked to V.

“Right, of course,” V replied with a nod.

Saeyoung was looking at you now, waiting for your response. It had been a long time since you were last invited to a party. Let alone a…yacht party? What the hell does someone even wear to something like that? You pulled your bottom lip between your teeth trying to decide. Just how rich was Jumin? You’d feel really out of place there. But if Saeyoung was going, too…

“Okay, sure. Sounds fun,” you nodded to him.

“I’m going, too,” Saeran piped up.

He was so quiet you could almost forget he was there. He had that usual hard expression on his face and was stealing glances at his brother. You wished he would smile more, remembering the small moments in the park where the corner of his mouth turned up into a half-smile with the perk of his eyebrow as he studied you. Looking at him now he was almost a completely different person.

“But you never go to parties. Thought you were too cool for them?” Saeyoung’s mouth curled up into a grin.

“And you give a shit what I do, because?” Saeran glared.

“Ugh! Saeran you’re going?!” Yoosung cried, “man…now I have to go!”

“Stop being a baby about it and sneak out, then,” Saeran replied flatly and returned to the book he was reading.

“Yeah, Yoosung. You’re never going to get a chick if you keep worrying about getting in trouble with mommy and daddy,” Zen chimed in and Yoosung’s face fell.

“It’s funny, hearing you give advice on women. What with your string of non-existent belt notches. Remind me, when was the last time you had a girlfriend, again? I seem to have forgotten,” Jumin’s comment was clearly directed towards Zen but he was scrolling through his phone, not breaking his concentration once.

Yoosung snickered and it set Zen off. He pulled the pack of cigarettes from his jacket pocket and tapped his fingers on the top, only to tuck them back inside against his will. You remembered he had really been struggling to quit. He must have a lot of willpower, or really care about performing.

“I bet you Jaehee could tell you,” Saeyoung put a chip in his mouth and crunched it with a devious grin.

“What does she have to do with anything?” Zen asked, “and where is she, by the way?”

“I think she’s busy with her club. They’re getting ready to sell the tickets for the next musical,” V strapped his bag over himself, “and speaking of clubs, I have to run. See you all tonight.”

“Yoosung and I should get going, too. You wanted to go over last night’s assignment with me, right?” you asked.

“Please! I was struggling so bad. I ended up just throwing it to the side and playing LOLOL all night…”

“Don’t worry, I’ll help you. Bye, guys,” you waved and walked off with Yoosung.

“Wait! Uh, I have something for you,” Saeyoung called.

You stopped for him to catch up and he reached into his pocked and pulled out a phone. A brand new phone…he held it out for you to take and you did, although hesitantly.

“I know you said you didn’t like yours…anyway, I get these for free all the time when people break them. They don’t understand how easy they are to fix so I end up with a bunch. It’s…not a big deal or anything,” he shrugged and pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose, his cheeks slightly pink.

“I don’t know what to say,” you stared at it in your hands.

“Say you’ll call me when it inevitably breaks again, because he thinks he knows what he’s doing but I’m the one who will get it working correctly,” Saeran suddenly appeared from behind his brother, brow pressed in.

“Thank you, both of you. This is-well, probably the nicest thing anyones ever done for me,” you smiled and hugged him quickly.

Saeyoung seemed like he didn’t know what to do. One of his arms wrapped around your back but other than that he was still.

“I really have to go, though. Thanks again,” you caught up to Yoosung’s side and continued walking with him.

You couldn’t help but hold up the phone and inspect it. You’d never owned anything this new before when it came to technology. He must have worked hard on it. There were no scratches or scrapes, the screen was clear. It looked as if you had just opened it from the box. What would it be like to not feel that cloud of embarrassment every time you pulled your phone from your pocket. It seemed a stupid thing to worry about. A phone. A dumb phone. There were much bigger problems in life. But it was hard to not notice that everyone else seemed to be ahead of you when it came to that kind of stuff, try as you might to forget about it. It would be nice to feel a little more normal.

“Do you like him?” Yoosung asked as you compared answers.

     “Who?”

     “Saeyoung…”

You pressed your pencil eraser to your chin nervously in thought, “why?”

“Just a feeling I get. I’m a bit jealous, to be honest. You’re a nice person,” he looked away quickly after saying it. Like he regret mentioning anything.

“There’s nothing to be jealous of,” which was true.

“Still, I think you guys would be nice together. Saeyoung is a kind person, too.”

“He is,” you nodded. That much you could see.

“So is Saeran, though he may not come off that way. Both of them. They’re my best friends…I’ve kind of been lost lately. I honestly wish I could get back to my old self,” Yoosung’s expression dulled, “they’ve helped me so much. I feel like they’re the only ones that get me. I don’t have many friends anymore aside from online,” he sighed.

“I’ll be your friend, Yoosung,” you smiled.

His face softened and he gave a perky smile. He had been slouching but now stood up straight in his chair. It was hard to see him look so sad, and you wanted to know more. But it didn’t feel right to pry just then.

“You’re already my friend!” he beamed.

“That’s right. So, now friend, lets go over 34-A,” you tapped your pencil in your book diligently.

You managed to avoid Bucky Barnes for three whole days. You always booked a meeting with a client before he got to the house, which he unfortunately came to every day of the week. When you didn’t have business in or outside of the house, you mostly stayed in your bedroom or in the small reading area Tony built for you in the beginning of your marriage. It’s where you were currently sat, lounging in one of the plush armchairs by the window. The window was slightly creaked open, letting in the warm summer breeze.

You were reading one of your favourite books: Jane Eyre. You were nearly at the end when the sound of a roaring engine filled the room. You sat up straight to look out the window, to see where the commotion was coming from. The view was something you weren’t expecting. A shirtless Bucky was driving around in the backyard on a ride-on lawn mower, steering the machine around easily. Your breath hitched at the sight of his bare torso, glistening in the sun, droplets of sweat running down his broad back. A frustrated sigh left your lips as you sat back in your chair, determined to finish your book, but the image of him wouldn’t leave your mind. His messy medium length hair and slim jeans were every girl’s dream. You shut your book with another sigh; you weren’t going to get any reading done with these thoughts.
