i found these almond milks at the marin county farmer’s market today and i had to report to y'all that it’s the best almond milk i have ever tasted. if you’re in northern california, or you can get a hold of these somewhere else, do it!!! they’re so fresh it’s crazy!!! the lavender is my favorite but they’re all incredible 💗💗💗

Homemade Chocolate Brownie Quest Bars (protien bites)

I posted this before, but I tweaked the recipe a tad to give me 5 workout days. Each one is a USD Quarter size in diameter (0.9 inches/2.4cm) and roughly 4 inches (10.16cm) in length. Gotta show my non-us mutuals some luv in the conversions.


RECIPE:

note: There are 2 recipes here. The base recipe and the brownie bites. The base is needed for all versions of the quest bar. That’s the oat flour, whey isolate, VitaFiber, almond milk. That is all a Quest Bar is!!! The personal flavor add-ons are your choice. I’ll note “OPTIONAL” for my brownie bites recipe


You will need a zip lock bag. Think of this as a summer camp science experiment. LOL… Add 5 tbsp of vanilla whey isolate into the bag. I used Body Fortress Whey Isolate Vanilla creme.


now, in a blender or food processor, add 40g (½ cup) of dry oatmeal… (Optional–not part of the initial base: 1 tbsp chia seeds, 1 tbsp hemp seeds, and 1 tbsp whole flax) blend for 10-20 seconds until you have a rough oat flour. Put that into bag.


(Optional–not part of the initial base: add 2 tbsp of cocoa powder– it is a dry ingredient so add this now.


close bag. mix up all dry contents.


open bag. Add 1 tbsp of almond milk or water. Your choice. And… Add 3 tbsp of VitaFiber ISO. Go to a whole foods store or mother earth store or order online. $20 Jug will last 6 months. Or 3 months if you love Quest Bars. Lol


close bag and work the contents together like play-dough. This step may take 10-15 minutes. It will get hard like cold play-dough. Add ½ tbsp of almond milk or water if you need more moisture. You want really hard play-dough. Not mud! Not busicut dough! Just keep squishing and pressing the bag against the table. The bag may pop. That’s ok. You will get kinda messy. That’s ok. Lol


once mixed, you get a sticky mound. Weigh it. I was exactly close to 200. So 200 divide by 5 days is 40g… So each bite will be 40g. Now measure out. Shape and form any way your heart desires. Tubes. Patties. Balls. Bars. Whatever. Be creative. I made tubes.


put in the refrigerator until ready to eat.

idea include adding Andes mint chocolate, graham crackers, semi sweet chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, raspberries, blueberries, bananas, peaches, apples, pumpkin, cinnamon, pb2, mini marshmallow, white chocolate chips, nuts… The possibilities are endless as long as you keep the base vanilla recipe!
