Orphaned at a young age, Dorothy Gale was raised by her aunt and uncle in the bleak landscape of a Kansas farm. As a child she was constantly at odds with her next door neighbour, Miss Almira Gulch, as Dorothy’s dog Toto was always doing his business on her lawn. When she was 13 years old, Miss Gulch received permission from the town sheriff to have Toto euthanised, and so Dorothy and Toto felt they had no choice but to run away to Kansas City. Cold and alone, she huddled up with Toto in a department store where she was unexpectedly scouted by a visiting modelling agent.
A whirlwind of castings and beauty shoots. Now ten years later, Dorothy Gale is a household name. Having walked in prestigious fashion shows all over the world, she can sell water to a drowning man. Her luscious lips and signature wild mane is easily recognisable around the world.
The little orphan girl from Kansas became a worldwide star.
