On the ground, covered by your favorite fluffy blankets with cushions placed around your bodies, you lied on top of Steve, next to the fireplace as the natural warmth of his figure caressed your skin. You could lie there for hours, your legs intertwined and your finger gently wandering over his sculptured torso as your boyfriend whispered sweet nothings.

Steve could feel your chest expand and contract on top of his, breathing out fresh air that tickled the side of his neck. He tightened his grasp around your waist as he turned slightly and looked out of the window, only to find the night’s welcoming stars beginning to light the ocean behind the cabin. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day.

To my abuser: you never had a right. I was a child, and you had no right to terrorize me, to insult and tease me, only to turn around and say that it was only a joke. And now that I've gone, and I refuse to contact you, I'm the one in the wrong. You took my family from me. You ruined my childhood, but I refuse to allow you to ruin my adult life.

what made you like the bagginshield pairing

oh my gosh I can’t even remember. I do recall the exhilaration when the hobbit fandom was only just forming, and everybody felt sO GUILTY about shipping it oh my god it was grand. I remember seeing the first tentative fanart, and reading the first fics, and yeah, at some point I was sold. I fondly remember this piece of fanart, I think I spent the longest time staring at it back on the dawn of 2k13…

but well concerning the two blokes actually IN the ship… ahh I’ve loved bilbo since I was about six years old, and I remember having my first emotional breakdown (or as close as a six-year-old can get to that) when thorin died, and oh my god, I think I even had that brief ‘yOU’RE RUINING YOUR OWN CHILDHOOD’ stage, but oh well.

someone once pointed out to me that thorin and bilbo represent to each other what they long for - thorin is the danger and adventure and horizons to be broadened that bilbo has barely allowed himself to dream of, and bilbo is the warm hearth and cozy home and tenderness thorin has forsaken somewhere along the way, and doesn’t think he can ever experience again, and… dude, there is so much. even in canon, they learn from each other, thorin goes this long way from dismissing bilbo entirely to trusting him explicitly and praising his presence and efforts in the company, and bilbo does everything in his power to help the company, even though it ends up the way it ends up.

and personally, I think they just click, you know? god, bilbo is perfect at tempering thorin’s anger, and they bicker and fuss over each other and clash and soothe each other’s worried minds and I have spent hours upon hours and thousands upon thousands of words talking about their dynamic, and I’m bound to spend even more, but yea, bagginshield is my number one jam, and I can’t quite put a finger on it.
