some fancy nobel prize winning french photographer put together a project where giant photos of neighborhood folks would be plastered all over empty storefronts in low income neighborhoods like hunts point in the bronx. these are some of them. we were stopped by a woman who noticed us taking photos of the project and wanted to know what it was all about. she thought it was another improvement to the neighborhood; since that hbo documentary about the preponderance of prostitutes in the area the neighborhood had been cleaned up and the hookers cleared out. occasionally one “came out of nowhere” but for the most part it didn’t affect her business, a kids ballet school.
