allah's book

It says,

“But they forgot Allah, so they forgot themselves.”

There is so much to be said about this one sentence, subhanallah. When you neglect Allah, when you choose other things to be as more important for you than Allah, then Allah makes you forget who you are. He makes you forget your identity.

And when this happens, your heart becomes hard. It feels empty. So you try to fill that emptiness with worldly things. You try to fill that hole in your heart not realising that the only thing that can bring you happiness is Allah.

Wallahi happiness can only be found with worshipping Allah. It can only be found in pleasing Him. When you make Him your priority, He will fill your heart with the sweetness of Iman.

And there is nothing more beautiful than the feeling of being close to Allah.

May Allah protect us from making this dunya our only concern.

Salam, some time ago I started extracting hadiths that belong to the Collection of Imam al-Bukhari out of a website to use it for a smartphone app I was planning. I also thought why not use that to also generate some pdf’s out of it. So thats what I have done here. There is one pdf containing all the books from Sahih al-Bukhari and there is also one pdf for each book of the collection. It only includes the hadith in the english translation, also there is the reference for each hadith (Hadith number of total collection & hadith number in that specific book). When you donwload the pdf you will be able to search through the document to find the hadiths that contain the word or exact phrase you are looking for. In sha Allah someone will benefit out of this. Anyway if you have any remarks or have found something that needs to be corrected, let me know.

(btw. maybe you should click on the download links when you are on wifi as the complete edition is like 13mb and the individual books are like 2mb each)

Imam Ali (as) & the Astrologer....

Imam Ali [as] and the Astrologer There are some who are heedless with respect to reflection, reasoning and Tawakkul (Absolute Trust), and instead, turn to soothsayers and astrologers, who have cleverly started their business in order to swindle the people of their money, and that you will find every in this world.

Of course, the issue of Aulia Allah (Friends of Allah) and those, who have strived towards spiritual purification, differ vastly from the others, for their words are light (nur) and if, at times, they were to say something to someone, it would surely occur and hence such personalities should not be compared to the others.

As an example, we shall present an incident that transpired during the time of Imam Ali[as]. and his army had started out for the battle of Nahrawan against the Kharijites (Kharijite means one who rebels against religion), and having reached the city of Madain, they pitched their tents. The next morning, as they were about to commence their journey, an astrologer approached them and said: “My astrological calculations reveal that it is not in your interest to advance in this hour. Commence your journey after three hours and you shall be victorious.”

Hearing this, Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali ibn Abu Talib [as] said: “Whoever upholds your words has rejected the Noble Qur'an of Allah[swt].”

Surely Allah is He with Whom is the knowledge of the hour, and He sends down the rain and He knows what is in the wombs; and no one knows what he shall earn on the tomorrow; and no one knows in what land he shall die; surely Allah is Knowing, Aware. Noble Qur'an (31:34)

Imam Ali [as] then asked: “Do you possess knowledge as to which family has taken over the reins of leadership in Chin…? Yani China..?”

The astrologer replied: “I have no knowledge.”

Imam Ali ibn Abu Talib[as] questioned: “What is that star, which when rises, stirs up lust within the camels……?”

The astrologer confessed: “I have no idea.”

Imam Ali ibn Abu Talib[as] asked: “The rise of which star stirs up passion within the cats?”

The astrologer said: “I do not know!”

Imam Ali ibn Abu Talib (as) asked: “Inform me of the thing that is concealed beneath the hoofs of my horse.”

When the astrologer had once again pleaded ignorance, Imam Ali ibn Abu Talib[as] said to him: “Within the earth, below the feet of my horse, lies a jar filled with gold coins and beneath which a serpent lies asleep.”

When the place was dug up, the people witnessed that the scenario was exactly as it had been described by Imam Ali ibn Abu Talib[as].

Observing this, the astrologer was totally bewildered; Imam Ali ibn Abu Talib[as] took possession of his books, ordered them to be destroyed and then said to him: “The next time you try to attract the people towards yourself by means of astrology; I shall put you behind bars.

Salam alaikum and Ramadan Mubarak, alhamdulillah! Today, the first day of Ramadan 1438 (2017), I recited my shahada. After several years of study of the Abrahamic books, Allah has led me here to this moment. All praises due to most high, Allah. Much thanks to those who helped me along the way @olivesalam @reverthelp @muslimpro. I am thankful for my past, ecstatic in this moment and excited for the future. Please make dua for me in my journey as I make dua for all muslims in theirs as well as for the disbelievers so that they may be revived in this life as I have.

I am a Muslim - A poem

Salam alaikom,
I’m a muslim
But no Osama was not my leader
I don’t look up to ISIS
I had no part in the taliban crisis

Salam alaikom,
I’m a muslim
But no, my mother’s scarf is not a symbol of oppression
And I beg of you to watch the news with discretion
They have a tendency to call people like me terrorists.

I wish I didn’t have to speak like such pessimist, but when you’re constantly surrounded by ignorance,
That’s hard
So now it’s up to me to point out who the real terrorists are.

When a white man starts a shooting it’s deemed an isolated crime
Now if that man’s name was Mohammed
You won’t stop hearing about that terrorist attack until the end of time

The media has taken the image of Islam and changed it completely
And you never noticed as they covered their tracks so discreetly

They had an idea and they distorted it
Then society absorbed it
They accepted it as the truth
Went on to teach that to their ignorant youth

They were lured in, like fish to bait
At a young age, they were taught to hate
But nobody ever thought to stop it so it all duplicates.

I have come to clear my name
Salam alaikom,
I’m a muslim,
But I did not ignite this flame

Evil is not a religious concept
But rather a human one
Terrorism does not belong to an ethnicity, religion, or culture
So stop picking at this like a vulture
Accept the fact that your arguments are no longer in tact
And that your delusions that state otherwise, are simply that

I don’t know where you get your information from
But the henna on my hand does not mean I have a desire to kill
And the fact that I greet relatives in Arabic does not mean I inhabit thoughts so ill
And I will not stop fighting for this until
This message gets through your thick skull

I would like to disconnect any connections you have made,
Between my faith and your misconceptions
I only want to mend the issues that need correction

Today I speak for something much bigger than myself
Today I speak for my family
My friends
For everyone else

I speak to defend my brothers and sisters that have been searched at airports
The ones that have been shot on public transport
The ones that have been kicked out of their homes because of ignorant landlords
I stand today to defend you

We are muslims
But we are also human beings
Salam alaikom
Meaning peace be upon you
Do you wish the same peace upon us?
