How beautiful is
The journey of Salah:
When you fall to your lowest
You draw closest to Allah (96:19).
So fall in your sujood and cry,
As you praise your Lord the Most High.

The servant is nearest to his Lord during prostration, so increase your supplications therein.
 -Prophet Muhammad (saww) [Sahih Muslim]

If a praying person knew to what extent he was surrounded by Allah’s Mercy, he would never raise his head from Prostration.
-Imam Ali (as) [Tasnif al-Ghurar al-Hikam]

And Allah  (ﷻ) knows best.

“Why should they ask me to put on a uniform and go 10,000 miles from home and drop bombs and bullets on Brown people in Vietnam while so-called Negro people in Louisville are treated like dogs and denied simple human rights? No I’m not going 10,000 miles from home to help murder and burn another poor nation simply to continue the domination of white slave masters of the darker people the world over. This is the day when such evils must come to an end. I have been warned that to take such a stand would cost me millions of dollars. But I have said it once and I will say it again. The real enemy of my people is here. I will not disgrace my religion, my people or myself by becoming a tool to enslave those who are fighting for their own justice, freedom and equality. If I thought the war was going to bring freedom and equality to 22 million of my people they wouldn’t have to draft me, I’d join tomorrow. I have nothing to lose by standing up for my beliefs. So I’ll go to jail, so what? We’ve been in jail for 400 years.” ~Muhammad Ali

Whoever is deprived of qualities of kindness and character, then it will be a means of every evil and adversity for him, except for those who are protected by Allah Almighty.
—  Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir | Ḥilyat al-Awliyā 3/186
Ali ibn Abi Talib

Ali was a warrior but he was so much more,
Do not limit him to the battlefield,
As you limit your Lord to a throne;
With a face and two hands, you make Him like yourselves,
While He says, “Laisa Kamislihi Shai,” there is nothing like Himself. (42:11)

To an enemy who wanted to kill him, Ali once gave away his sword,
Through Ali ibn Abi Talib, was God’s mercy bestowed;
For those still wishing to feud, remember when he refused to swing his sword,
Zulfiqar never struck, except for the justice of its Lord;
And the man who struck him with a poison blade in sujood,
Ali gave him water, for Muhammad’s sunnah was with Ali’s blood imbued.

I expect no more of those who read the Quran day and night,
But reflect upon it not, even when the verses are in their sight,
“Do they not then reflect on the Quran?” Their Lord proclaims,
“Nay, on the hearts there are locks,” He swiftly explains, (47:24)
Indeed for them, Wilayah and Tatheer are but strange, empty names,
So to them I convey: Ali is the self of Muhammad, who has greater claim? (3:61)

To the love of Ali, their hearts are sealed, in empty prostrations they pray,
They do not know of the Dua of Kumayl,
While the Munajat of Ali lie beyond their capacity to behold;
Like a camel in the dark they bow and they kneel,
Ma’rifat a distant dream for those who put as fourth what is gold,
Preferring rusting doors to the Gate, in whose words God Himself is revealed.

In prayer surrounded by towers, like hypocrites they pray,
Standing on their monuments of dust, from their Prophet, driving pilgrims away,
Thinking not for what reason towards that house they say,
“Ihdina as-Sirat al-Mustaqeem,” (1:6)  For did they ever wonder
Why in that house was born Ali, and why facing it was he slayed?
Indeed from Makkah to Kufa, in the life of Ali is the straightest path displayed.

So on that path towards Kufa then travelled Ali’s son, Hussain,
But he was blocked by transgressors, and to Karbala was driven away,
To protect his grandfather’s message he unleashed his father’s blade,
But sheathed it at last, showing the world, Islam is never spread by the sword,
And showing the Muslims, Ali ibn Abi Talib is so much more.

Salah - Prayer 🙏💖

▪ The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said ❝The one who takes prayer light is not of me. No, by Allah (ﷻ) such a person will not reach the pool of Kauthar.❞

📘 Man La Yahduruhul Faqih

▪ Imam Sadiq (عليه السلام) said ❝If there was a stream at the house of one of you in which one washes himself five times a day, will there remain anything from the dirt of his body? Verily the likeness of prayers is the same as the stream. The person who establishes ritual prayers clears out his sins thereby, except for the sin that takes him out from the faith he believes in.❞

📘 Bihar al-Anwar

▪ The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said ❝An obligatory prayer, with Allah (ﷻ), is equivalent to one thousand Hajj pilgrimages and one thousand Umrah performances which are right and accepted.❞

📘 Bihar al-Anwar

▪ The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said ❝Say each of your prayers as if it were your last prayer.❞

📘 Bihar al-Anwar

▪ Imam Ameerulmumineen Ali ibn Abu Talib (عليه السلام) said ❝If a praying person knew to what extent he was surrounded by His (Allah’s) Mercy, he would never raise his head from the state of prostration.❞

📘 Tasnif al-Ghurar al-Hikam

▪ Imam Baqir (عليه السلام) said ❝On the Day of Judgement, the first thing that a servant will be reckoned for is the prayer; therefore, if it is accepted, the rest (good deeds) will be accepted too.❞

📘 Bihar al-Anwar

▪ Imam Sadiq (عليه السلام) said ❝Verily our intercession never reaches the one who takes prayer lightly. ❞

📘 Bihar al-Anwar

▪ The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said ❝At the appointed time of every prayer, I hear a caller who calls and says ❝O children of Adam (عليه السلام)! Keep up prayers in order to extinguish the fire you have lit against yourselves (by committing sins). ❞

And Allah (ﷻ) knows best. May Allah make us the people who hold onto the prayer. Ameen. 💙

Interviewer: “Do you have a bodyguard?“

Muhammad Ali: "No, I have One bodyguard. He has no eyes though He sees. He has no ears though He hears. He remembers everything with the aid of mind and memory. When He wishes to create a thing, He just orders it to be and it comes into existence, but this order does not convey the words which takes the tongue to form like our sound carries ears. He hears the secrets of those on the quite thoughts. He stops those whom, whose that? That’s God Allah. He’s my bodyguard. He’s your bodyguard. He’s the Supreme, The Wise.”

The responsibility of the wife towards her husband 💍👠

🌺 A righteous husband is a huge blessing for a Muslim woman. Imam Baqir (عليه السلام) said ❝No intercessor for a woman on the Day of Resurrection is more effective with Allah (ﷻ) than the consent of her husband.❞

📚 Bihar al-Anwar

🌺 Therefore the Muslim woman must be attentive to serving her husband and making him happy in return for the many sacrifices he does for her (i.e: working and providing for her/protecting her etc etc).

🌺 The Holy Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله) said ❝It is to a woman to perfume herself with her best fragrances, wear her best clothes, and ornament herself with her best ornamentation in order to present herself available to her husband whether it is day or night.❞

📚 Al-Kafi

🌺 Imam Ameerulmumineen (عليه السلام) said ❝The best women among you are those who have five qualities:

1. She is easy-going, obedient, humble and economical to her husband.

2. She is good tempered to him.

3. She is cooperative and helpful to him in difficulties.

4. Whenever her husband is angry or depressed, she does not rest until she finds him happy.

5. When her husband is absent from her, she protects his belongings in his absence.

Such a woman is an agent of the angels of Allah (ﷻ) and the agent of Allah will not be disappointed.❞

📚 Al-Kafi

🌺 Imam Sadiq (عليه السلام) said ❝Any woman who spends the night while her husband is rightfully angry with her, her prayers are not accepted from her until he becomes pleased with her.❞

📚 Al-Kafi

🌺 The Holy Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله) said ❝There is no believing woman who gives her husband a glass of water but it will be rewarded her better than the worship of one year during which she fasts on days and keeps vigil during the nights.❞

📚 Wasa'il-ush Shi'ah

And Allah (ﷻ) knows best.

You know what scares me the most? Time. Not having enough of it. Not having done enough for my hereafter, for my meeting with My Lord. We may not even live to see the next minute yet, we act as if death will never come to us. Every second is precious man. Every second. 😔

Man Kunto Maula

“For whoever I am Maula, Ali is his Maula,”
Were the words Muhammad proclaimed,
For Muhammad and Ali realise each level of this claim:
Indeed like Muhammad, Ali too was but a slave of his Lord (72:19);
And like the Prophet, the Imam was named Wali by his Lord (5:55);
And like the Messenger, the Guide was an Intimate of the Word (13:7; 56:79);
Indeed like Muhammad, Ali too is Master of the creations of the worlds.

The status of women in Islam 🌼🌺

▪ Women and men are seen as equals in the religion of Islam. The only way a man can be superior to a woman is through piety and righteous deeds.

Almighty Allah (ﷻ) says ‘O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know each other (not that you may despise each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is he who is most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well-acquainted (with all things).’

📔 Al-Qur’an 49:13

▪ Muslim men have a responsibility of taking care of women, something they will be questioned about on the Day of Judgement:

Almighty Allah (ﷻ) says ‘Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more strength than the other and because they support them from their means.’

  📔 Al-Qur’an 4:34

Almighty Allah (ﷻ) also says ‘And consort with your wives in kindness.’  📔 Al-Qur’an 4:19

And ‘Harass them not so as to straighten life for them.’  📔 Al-Qur’an 65:6

And ‘Consort with your wives in honour and equity.’  📔 Al-Qur’an 4:19

⚜ The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said ❝The best of you men are those who are best to their wives and I am the best of you towards my wives.❞

📔  Tirmidhi

⚜ Imam Kazim (عليه السلام) narrates ❝My grandfather, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, ❝However much the faith of a man increases, his regard for women increases.❞

📔 Bihar al-Anwar

⚜ The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said ❝From the things of the world, I regard women and perfume highly, but prayer is the light of my eyes.❞

📔 Bihar al-Anwar

⚜ Imam Baqir (عليه السلام) said ❝He who takes a woman in marriage should certainly respect her because the wife of anyone of you is a means of your pleasure, so the one who marries a woman should not spoil or disgrace her by disregarding her respectable rights.❞

📔 Bihar al-Anwar

⚜  Imam Ameerulmumineen (عليه السلام) said ❝In any condition conciliate your wives and talk with them warmly and through kind words, thereby they may change their actions into good ones.❞

📔 Bihar al-Anwar

▪ Women have the right to work and earn their money but shouldn’t be put under any pressure to work if she doesn’t want to.

Almighty Allah (ﷻ) says ‘Do not covet that by which Allah has elevated some of you over others. To men is allotted what they earn to women is allotted what they earn. So ask Allah of His bounty. Surely Allah has absolute knowledge of all things.’

📔 Al-Qur’an 4:32

⚜ Imam Ameerulmumineen (عليه السلام) said to his son Imam Hassan (عليه السلام), ❝Do not tolerate that women do things beyond their abilities because this is more suitable for their status, it calms their hearts and preserves their beauty, surely women are like fragrant flowers and not warriors.❞

📔 Wasa’il al-Shi’a

▪ Women have the right to choose their own husband and should never be forced into marrying someone she does not like.

⚜ Imam Sadiq (عليه السلام) said ❝Women must be asked permission for their marriage, virgin or otherwise, and marriage is not correct without the woman’s behest.❞

📔 Wasa’il al-Shi’a

▪ If a husband has more than one wife, he must divide himself and his wealth equally between his wives.

⚜ The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said ❝He who has two wives and does not treat justly in dividing himself and his wealth between them, he will be raised on the Resurrection Day while he is chained in punishment and half his body is not straight until he enters Hell.❞

📔 Bihar al-Anwar

And Allah (ﷻ) knows best.

O’ Allah! Make me live the life of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad and permit me to die the death of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.
