Naseeha

If you want to perfect your prayers, begin with understanding what Surat-ul Fatiha means. Ponder over the verses, look at the tasfir, understand that this surah is a conversation between you and your Lord.

Allah said, “I have divided the prayer between Myself and My servant into two halves, a half for Me and a half for My servant. My servant shall have what he asked for.”

If he says,

[الْحَمْدُ للَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَـلَمِينَ ]

(All praise and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of existence.)

Allah says, `My servant has praised Me.

When the servant says,

[الرَّحْمَـنِ الرَّحِيمِ ]

(The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.)

Allah says, `My servant has glorified Me.’

When he says,

[مَـلِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ ]

(The Owner of the Day of Recompense.)

Allah says, `My servant has glorified Me,’ or `My servant has related all matters to Me.’

When he says,

[إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ ]

(You (alone) we worship, and You (alone) we ask for help.)

Allah says, `This is between Me and My servant, and My servant shall acquire what he sought.

When he says,

(Guide us to the straight path. The way of those on whom You have granted Your grace, not (the way) of those who earned Your anger, nor of those who went astray), Allah says, `This is for My servant, and My servant shall acquire what he asked for.’).“

These are the words of An-Nasa'i, while both Muslim and An-Nasa'i collected the following wording, "A half of it is for Me and a half for My servant, and My servant shall acquire what he asked for.”

Subhan'Allah. Ponder over the beautiful conversation you are having with your Lord each time you recite surah-tul fatihaa.

I didn’t choose my color. I didn’t choose my culture. I didn’t choose my sex. I didn’t choose why I am the way I am. I chose Islam. I chose love & I chose unity. Be it hard, be it difficult, be it milestones to overcome, I chose truth. I chose what pleases my Lord more than what pleases the people. I chose. & had I had a choice about my color, my culture, my sex, & why I am the way I am. I would have chosen exactly what I am now. Alhamdulilah.

Excuse the random posts. I leave you with the following scattered messages currently on my mind;

  • Any woman can make ANY man fall in love with her.
  • There’s more to me than you’ll ever know. There’s more to you than I’ll ever know. There’s more to us than we can ever know.
  • When you do something good, challenge yourself and do something better, once you do something better, do something even better than that. Don’t stand still smiling at the good you did. Keep improving.
  • When you are sad, take a shower. Talk to yourself.
  • Renew your intentions for every act. Especially the acts you do consistently. Sometimes we lose sight of the fact that our actions are marvelous…but our intentions are not so…not so shiny.
  • Don’t compare yourself to others, unless it’s to improve yourself. You don’t know what she/he is going through, nor do they know what YOU are going through.
  • Don’t complain to the creations. You are only complaining about the Creator. Who better than the Problem solver, to solve your problems? These people…they have problems themselves.
  • Take long walks alone, and think about where your life is heading. Don’t put the idea off. You are not guaranteed a tomorrow.
  • Forgive 3 people every night before you go to bed. Forgiveness in the sense you have forgiven THEM and you have moved on from the situation.
  • Notice your breaths more. They’ll remind you of your existence, in hopes of reminding you of how insignificantly significant you are.
  • Don’t ask a child ‘why?’, that make them feel guilty. Instead look them in the eye and ask them 'what happened’ even if you already knew.
  • Smile at others, even if they don’t smile at you. Even if they don’t smile back. They’ll remember your smile before bed.
  • Take 5 seconds before you answer a question. By that time you’ve properly processed the question and you’ll answer accordingly.

Alright, these are random; but they are organized in such a beautiful random way in my mind & heart. May we all awaken in a better state than the one we have awoken in. May tomorrow be a day full of gratitude, patience, strong eman, forgiveness, and may Allah protect us from the torments of the hellfire, maseeha addajal, the punishments of the grave, and the fitnaa of this dunya and the next. Aameen. Wa'aasalamu alykum wa rahmatu'Allahe wa barakaatu .

Hijab is not a fashion accessory

Hijab is a covering, a barrier, it`s not a covering that will stop you from being harassed, sexually assaulted, or raped; but it protects you and you chasity. It protects you and your modesty. It protects you and your manners. It protects you and your character. Hijab is not something that should be looked at as a fashion accessory, but an accessory of the deen.

There was Mosque in Syria and close to it was a rail for train. Few minutes after Isha'i prayer, we heard a cry of a young man, shouting and saying a train has crushed someone. We gathered at the scene and saw the victim. He was a young man of 19 years. He was cut into two, and the train took the left side of the man. He was still alive (Glorified be Allah, Who sustains and protects all that exist). The other half of his body was shaking, his heart was beating, and he was breathing as could be seen from his lungs. He was alive still! Someone went close to him, held his head, and whispered in his ears, “say Laa ilaaha illalLaah, say Laa ilaaha illalLaah”. The halfbody of the young man was shaking, and he uttered “Ashhadu allaa ilaaha illalLaah, wa Ashhadu anna Muhammadar Rasulullah” repeatedly. The halfbody stopped shaking, and his soul departed to its Creator (Allah). The young man was dead. He died with Laa ilaaha illallaah, as his last words. The people called for stretcher to carry his remains. The night was very dark. The people switched on the lights of their handsets. They searched his clothes to get his address. One of them shouted “Yaa Allah! He was a Christian. See cross on his hand!

They murmured in confusion,” he died after he uttered) Laa ilaaha illallaah. Do we leave him, so that his family would bury him in a christian way?“ They carried the corpse, crying. Suddenly, his father appeared from the neighborhood. The victim was living around. When his father saw them, he nodded his head and said while crying "you would be surprised regarding what I shall tell you”.

He said: my son loved listening to the Holy Quran so much, though he was a christian. He loved listening to the Quran (The Book of the Muslims). I usually entered his room and would find him with earpiece. I would ask him, what are you listening to? He would say, I was listening to music. When I listen to the earpiece, I would hear that he was listening to the Quran. I attempted to stop him, but could not succeed. He told me that I couldn’t stop him no matter what I would do for him.

All the people around were looking at each other happily & crying. They said to the bereaved father, your son died believing in Oneness of Allah. He uttered Laa ilaaha illallaah as his last words. The bereaved father said: “Ashhadu allaa ilaaha illallaah, wa Ashhadu anna Muhammadar Rasulullah ”. The night was for jubilation and not mourning! The people were uttering Laa ilaaha illallaah. The corpse was buried in the Muslim cemetery.

O Allah, grant us a beautiful end in this life.

This is a true story narrated by Shaikh Muhammad Saawiy at a lecture.

The Prophet (SallallahuAlaihi Wa Sallam) has said the truth: “…… man would be a believer in the morning and turn to disbelief in the evening”.

if you feel music liberates you & gives you an escape from the world; you’re more than wrong. music chains you & enslaves you. you begin worshipping instruments & subconsciously memorizing lyrics that not only have underlying messages but teach you misogynistic behaviors. if you want liberation, chain yourself to the words of the Qur'an. through those means, you shall be free.

1, 8, 10? :)

1. What is your favorite ayah and/or surah?
Ayah: Fa be aye allaa e rabika ma tukathebaan. [And which of your Lords favors will ye deny?]
Surah: Ar Rahman
8. Think of a time when your dua was answered. What happened?
I was on the verge of losing friends so I prayed to Allah saying that He sends me people that are worth everything I do for them as a friend and a few days later raneemwillshine came thru. And earlier than this I was dealing with the same situation so I told Allah to have temporary people leave from my life and guide me to the right path then I saw two dreams which were kind of like replies in a sense and the morning my friend apologized and now we’re closer than ever.
10. What are your favorite names of Allah swt?
