all utopias fell

All Utopias Fell is an installation piece by artist Michael Oataman, open at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art until 2020. The work is split into three parts, The Shining (pictured above), The Library of the Sun, and Codex Solis. The Shining is a 1970s-era satellite, which has supposedly crash-landed at Mass MoCA, the inside of which is outfitted for human habitation, with a bed, a bathroom, a kitchenette, and all the small easily lost details that make it clear that it is, truly, a home amongst the stars.
