“Take me, take me far away
From this city’s soul decay
Hid away ‘til I was eighteen
Only saw colours on a TV screen
Skinny jeans and sunglasses
A fashion statement for the masses
What you’re doing makes me sick
Over hyped and generic”

Count back anecitize
Colours burnt into my eyes
Life for you is shades of grey
Help me help me
Find my way
Lost Lost
Is never found
Hide your secrets
Settle down
I am young and I an naïve
Tell me something I will believe
Take me take me
Far away
From this city’s soul decay
Hid away ’til I was eighteen
Only saw colours on a tv screen
Skinny jeans and sunglasses
A fashion statement for the masses
What your doing makes me sick
Over hyped and generic

Shine shine
Like the sun
Spread your warmt through everyone
I asked you why people die
You said we all had a design
Slide slide
Into the sea
Landslide coming down on me
I said I was into you
You said you were into me
You never answer on the phone
With your nicotene lips and your heart of stone
I look for you by the underpass
Looks like this love wasn’t meant to last
You said you reap just what you sow
So tell me where does your garden grow
You said in the time the pain would pass
Looks like the end is here at last

Burn burn
Like a star
Burn a hole in every heart
Strung out on a trail of blood
Who knew the stars were not enough
Smile Smile
If you can
If you can’t I’ll understand
See these stiches in my eyes
Smash computers kill rockstars
Purge the past and waste my mind
Leave no scent or trace behind
One day when you bury me
When I wake up what will I see?
Down down underground
Dig for fire dig for sound
What is on the radio

I would like to say hello
Crawl crawl through the dirt
Jesus show us what your worth
Can’t you just send us a sign
Tell us all that we’re doing fine
Nights for sitting in the dark
Days for lieing in the park
Wake me up from my sick dream
A requiem for this dead scene
You never answer on the phone
With your nicotene lips and your heart of stone
I look for you by the underpass
Looks like this love wasn’t meant to last
You said you reap just what you sow
So tell me where does your garden grow
You said in the time the pain would pass
Looks like the end is here at last

Count back anecitize
Colours burnt into my eyes
Life for you is shades of grey
Help me help me
Find my way
Mother can’t you help me know
Cause I’ve been drowning in the sound
Lying on the motorway
Writing songs and wasting away

sensibly-whimsical  asked:

So I started following you a few days ago because I came across a Poirot post of yours while looking through the Sherlock tag and got so excited!! My mom and I watched through all of the seasons on Netflix together while I was on break from university (took us over a year), so it's near and dear to my heart. I didn't know there was a Poirot community--nobody knows about Poirot in America except me and my mom, I guess? Anyway just wanted to let you know that I'm so glad I came across your blog!

Yay, fellow Poirot fan, hello! *waves* I’m happy you’ve stumbled upon my blog on this gigantic site! :D Yes, I did a few gif sets with different master sleuths in them, I also tend to obsess over the Marpoilock - Marple/Poirot/Sherlock - crossover, and similarities between Poirot and other detectives. It’s awesome you’ve found me by clicking on one of those posts! Bless and welcome to our fandom on tumblr!

Poirot mail honestly makes me so happy, thank you for being the source of that happiness today, and for following me! I can’t say it enough, everyone in our fandom’s super sweet and radiates friendliness, we’re just grateful we have a fandom on tumblr at all! :) There’s also that extra link that ties us together, an experience a lot of us share - watching Poirot with our families, looking forward to new episodes, treating Poirot as ‘event tv’ (which it is) and keeping those memories close to our hearts. I’ll never forget watching the show with my parents in the late 90s. When the theme song started, dad and I would always hum it together.

As I’m European, I’m not sure about the current statistics of Poirot fans in the States, but David Suchet did say in his book Poirot and Me he suspects one of the reasons for the show getting a third season was the success of the first season in America in ‘90 and the fact it had sold well in Europe. The American ratings and positive reviews gave an already warmly received and popular show (8+ mil viewers for the first and 8-12 mil viewers for the second season in the UK) an additional boost. It’s an internationally acclaimed show with frequent reruns. When was the last time you had a Poirot rerun on tv in the States, btw? Maybe that has something to do with it?

In the same book David talks about fanmail he’s received from his American fans, I love this bit:

David. ♥

Our fandom is part of a much much larger group that is the general Agatha Christie fandom (both book and film/tv adaptations) and we’re scattered over different social media platforms like tumblr, yahoo groups, podcasts, forums and various blogging services like blogspot. We’re all over the place and not that organized. Each platform is cut off from the rest, I think. If the show first started airing in the last 5 or so years instead of ′89 up till ‘13, I’m sure it would have been huge on twitter, instagram and tumblr, and we’d get a lot of fanfic, youtube reaction videos, etc, linked from those sites. Networking is an important element in modern fandoms, it brings people together. The Poirot fandom on tumblr right now doesn’t use social media to its advantage but maybe that could change. ;)

I’ve heard another difference compared to most detective shows is Poirot fans don’t label or differentiate between people who’ve read the canon and those who’ve only seen the show, which isn’t a bad thing. We’ve all part of the same group which then also intersects with the Marple, Tommy and Tuppence, Parker Pyne, And Then There Were None, and other subgroups. You can search for them via tumblr’s tags.

Thanks again, for your ask you get a gif of a smiling Poirot, being served jam sandwiches cut neatly into identical squares, just the way he likes them:
