Do you think Liam watching The Truman Show in the pic he posted was shade or just a very fitting coincidence?

For reference:

Sorry for the late response. No, I doubt it was a coincidence since if you failed to recognize Jim Carrey in that movie on Liam’s TV, he conveniently found a way to shout it out. I think he’s very aware that whatever he puts on social media will be scrutinized by the fandom. So he wanted us to notice. And he has a history of sliding in a shady message on social media. Sometimes a tweet is more than a tweet and a pic is more than a pic. He knows we know that.

That of course brings us to the synopsis of the movie:

The Truman Show stars Jim Carrey as Truman Burbank, an unwanted baby raised by a corporation inside a simulated television show revolving around his life, until he discovers it and decides to escape. Truman’s world is controlled by a TV producer. He discusses his programming on talk shows, and dismisses the protests of those who believe Truman is the victim of a cruel deception. Meanwhile, the whole world watches Truman’s every move.

Welp. Big welp. Unwanted baby raised by a corporation? Sounds like Babygate and Babygate 2.0 to me, in a manner of speaking. Louis and Liam sure don’t want these babies, wherever they came from. The fact that it’s all put into motion by a TV show (XFactor) and its show runner (Simon Cowell) who pimps his fakery using the media. The star of the TV show (all of 1D, tbh) becomes aware of the fakery and tries to escape. People in the know think it’s wrong (us), but can’t stop it. Meanwhile everybody else (casual observers and Antis) just watches the show.

This is a statement on Liam’s current situation, I have no doubt. Too many coincidences. And like I said, he has a history of this. So the established pattern is also important to note.

An example would be his weight rant which included the gender neutral “person I truly love”.

He could have saved a few words and just said Sophia, but nope. Not to mention use of the word “truly”. Was there someone in his life he didn’t truly love? You know. And the “coolest kid” reference seems to recalling an iconic Ziam moment: Zayn throwing shade post Payzer 1.0 break-up.

No way was this just a pile-up of coincidences.

Another example is when he tweeted John Mayer lyrics:

Here again he seems to be commenting on his life; wanting to move past this era of deception and wanting to forgive himself for having to play along.

Then there was that time when he cleverly created the opportunity to post himself side-eyeing his beard:

No explanation needed.

There’s so much more where that came from. But it just illustrates that Liam is sharp, shady and has been over it for a long time. This Truman Show shade is just the latest example.
