it is so important to me that we have Celaena, a girl who shunned other girls and was taught to mistrust any and all competition, but who grows up to become a woman who mends bonds with the women she hated, like Kaltain and Lysandra. It means so much to me that Sarah shows how when girls hate other girls, often it’s because they have been taught to view others as competition, but that this attitude can be changed, and that the best allies women have are other women.
Because you know who helps Aelin the most on her journey? Other than Rowan? Lysandra when she helps Aelin trick everyone at the end of EoS, and gives up her LIFE to become Aelin and lead Terrasen. Kaltain, when she gives the key to Elide and burns Morath. Elide, when she takes the key and crosses continents with it clutched against her breast, braving fae warriors and monsters and fighting against all odds, all with a mangled ankle and steel in her heart. And fucking Manon. Manon who has never met Aelin before, who was hit in the face by Aelin- even Manon helps. Manon protects Elide and saves the wyrd key from Maeve’s clutches so that Aelin’s sacrifice will not be in vain. And Manon, Manon decides to ally her witches with Aelin, and pledges to find the crochans, again, to fight for and with Aelin.
And all of these women rally behind a woman who at one point did not like some of them. Who mistreated them. But these women- Manon, Elide, Kaltain, Lysandra- all understand what it’s like to be fighting alone. They understand that Aelin is good at heart, and that she just needs forgiveness and a chance. So they help her. Against all odds.
And it just fills my heart will so much joy. That Sarah has given us a book that is so driven by women and by the bonds they forge and by their innate strength of heart. Ugh. It’s just so beautiful.
what she means:
Iroh, though. He could’ve stayed in the Fire Nation and lived a cushy life. He could’ve had whatever he wanted - a comfortable home, a slew of servants, a tea shop - any retiree’s dream following a long, highly successful career in a war. He could’ve been mostly happy and mostly content, free to do whatever he pleased really as the Fire Lord’s brother and a former general. He didn’t have to do any of the things he did for Zuko. He really didn’t. Zuko wasn’t even his kid! But guess what? Iroh loved Zuko like his own son. And Iroh left everything he knew to follow this asshole of a kid around the world on a pointless mission all the while loving him like Zuko had never been loved before and I just... Iroh, though. Uncle Iroh.
Belle holds off on telling Adam she’s pregnant for the longest time, because she wants to be sure.Eventually, she can’t decide on how to tell him, so she keeps putting it off until Adam notices she’s acting strange.
Adam: “Are you okay, you’ve been acting very agitated lately”
Belle: “No, I’m fine”
Adam: “I know when you’re fine, and you are not fine”
They get into an argument, and Belle lets it slip that’s she’s pregnant without even meaning to. Adam goes completely silent, with pure shock and joy on his face. Adam asks if she’s serious, and Belle answers of course she’s serious why would she lie about this? Adam goes silent again, taking it all in. He then finally rushes up to her, picks her up, and twirls her around in his arms.
When they announce Belle’s pregnancy to the royal court, some of the nobles are all “oh have you chosen a nanny/governess?” and Adam and Belle are like “um wtf no?”
Both Adam and Belle eventually (and begrudgingly) relent when Cogsworth insists they hire a governess because they’ve become so tired they’re falling asleep at the dinner table. Still, Adam and Belle take every possible opportunity to see their children.
About a month before the birth, Adam suddenly becomes very nervous about parenthood. The shadow of his father looms over him, as well as what happened to his mother. Belle reassures him that he’s not his father, and could never be.
Belle gives birth to twins: first a boy, then a girl.
Adam is pacing the hell out of the floor outside the room in nervousness and anticipation. (”It’s not supposed to last this long, is it?”).Cogsworth tries to calm him down, but it doesn’t work. Finally, the physician exits comes out to deliver the news. Adam rushes into the room, overwhelmed at the sight of Belle, and his new children. He starts crying, and Belle starts crying at the sight.
While Adam and Belle are decisive about their son’s name, they’re less so about their daughter’s. Adam wants to name her after Belle’s mother, while Belle wants to name her after Adam’s. They eventually come to the consensus that the girl with have both of the mothers’ names, and Adam relents, letting Belle decide which order they will be.
Adam rivals Maurice with his overprotectiveness. Belle has to remind him not to worry constantly. Even so, he’s worried that one little mistake will make him like his father.
Belle and Adam take turns readings to their children at night (and sometimes get into playful competitions over who tells the best bedtime story). They also sing to their children. All the time.
The family often go on walks in the gardens. Belle usually recites a passage from the book she’s been reading. One morning, she recites from Romeo and Juliet, and Adam gives her a look and says “you’re not trying to convert the children into loving that, are you?” and Belle just laughs and continues to recite, and Adam can’t help but love it because dammit it sounds so good when she says it.
Sam tells him in the diner that satyrs lure people away with a promise of pleasure just so they can eat them raw.
Dean thinks that well-meaning waitresses might work the same way.
She gives him a smile, a sweet one that’s everything right with a world so far from his own, and he’s able to let go of his stress after days of stewing in desperate silence. She grabs his hand and leads him out back after the dinner rush slows, and Dean knows he won’t be going back to the motel with Sam tonight. He’ll be wandering, bare foot and chasing a half-real high.
And it works. His body takes over as soon as that door shuts and it tells him he’s happy. But he can feel her teeth digging into him just the wrong side of too hard when they kiss. Her nails gouge deep into his shoulders, leave marks, remind him again that he’s hurting. Her pours his passion into her and he leaves himself cold and empty in the process.
She devours him and she doesn’t even know she’s doing it.
He lies there in bed with her long after she’s curled up and gone to sleep but invited him to stay, facing away from him in a strip of exposed moonlight. Dean runs one hand softly along the swell of his chest, the closed cavity of his heart, just to make sure that he’s still all there. He stays.
Taptaptaps his fingers. Just can’t seem to help himself. Still longing. Still worrying.
He rolls onto her again in the morning after a bad dream wakes him up and they fuck against her bedroom door before they leave. Dean keeps his tie askew even when he drops her off at the restaurant. He arches desperately closer into her in the doorway, seeking warmth, and he forgets to care if anyone is watching him.
Don’t mind me I’m just sitting here getting emotional over Kageyama Tobio.
Have you ever stopped to think about how far he has come? He started as a lonely tyrant. Completely unaware of the fact that he is not the only player on the court. That you have to work together. You have to trust others.
Then Hinata came. He had teammates. He had a partner. He learned to trust for the very first time. He learned to accommodate others. He learned how to build them up. He is stronger, immeasurably more now than he ever was.
It’s Mental Health Month. May 1st. The beginning of it. I just want to post some tips on what I find useful when I feel anxious, depressed or lonely. Some tips on how to care for yourself mixed in here too. I know what it’s like to feel like nothing is going to work out and you feel like there is no point anymore. I still get sad from time to time but here is what I try to do to lower those horrible feelings.
Music When I feel down I put on my chill playlist and listen to the songs. Not just recognize that the song is playing. I listen to every word, every beat, every instrument that makes a sound. I listen so hard that I forget everything else around me and forget everything that is going on in my head for a while. This actually really helps and especially if it’s a slow song, something that matches my mood.
Reading Reading is one of my favourite things to do. I’m in love with words. And getting deep into one of my favourite books helps me forget for a while. Grab something to drink and maybe a snack, find a quiet and comfy place to relax and let yourself fall into a book.
Eat When I feel depressed my appetite can go away pretty quickly. But if you don’t eat, you’ll feel even more tired and low. And that’s not good. So eat. Not junk food. Maybe a treat every now and again but make sure to eat healthy too. Fruit or vegetables. Maybe make some type of sandwhich or maybe eat a bowl of porridge. Whatever you want to make. But remember, not always junk food. And drink lot’s and lot’s of water.
Shower or bath If you feel all ugh, and ew take a long warm shower or a bath full of bubbles. Taking a shower or bath might help you feel more relaxed and feel more taken care of. And keeping yourself fresh and clean will help help boost your system.
Fresh air When I’m down, I get lazy. So the whole ‘take a long walk’ thing doesn’t go with me. What I like to do instead is open a window and stand there or take a chair and sit near there. I’m getting fresh air into my lungs which is good and I don’t need to get up and go outside to do it. Now getting exercise is a good thing to do too because it’ll boost your system also. But when you really can’t get up and walk far, just go to a window and read or listen to music.
Cry Yes crying is on this list. When you really need to let those tears out, just do it. If you’re in a place you feel comfortable enough to do it. Let it all out, for however long you need to. Crying doesn’t make you weak or a loser or whatever you think it makes you. It helps you. Instead of holding all those feelings in, you can let them out by crying. So just do it because a cry every now and again, will make you feel a little better. Hopefully.
Decorate and change it up This may be an odd one but it helps me. When I’m sad I’ll look up some quotes that I really like, write them on some paper and decorate the paper and stick it on my wall. Or sometimes I sift things around. If I think something in my room would look better in a different position then I’ll move it. I’ll maybe take some things down and hang something new up instead. Tidy my room too if it needs it. This helps because I’m focusing on other things. Where will this go? Does this look good on this wall? Things like that. Try it and see.
Breathe When I feel like I can’t breathe, I remember that I just need to take a minute. Look at my surroundings. What’s the colour of the walls? Breathe. What’s in the room? Breathe. What’s the weather like outside? Breathe. What’s my favourite food? Breathe. Do I have any plans this week? Breathe. Ask yourself some questions. Answer them and breathe. Breathe, breathe and breathe. Don’t let you make yourself small. Think bigger than what that stupid annoying voice in your head is telling you. Breathe. Because you’re worth it.
I hope these tips helped. I really do. And please, please REMEMBER… you are beautiful. You are so amazing and this world needs you in it. Maybe you feel like no one cares. But I guarantee you there is somebody out there who thinks the world of you. You are somebody’s moon. You’re that person who lights up the darkness for them. Don’t let your light go out. Stay strong and remember to love yourself and take care of yourself. You guys are more than welcome to ask me something if you need any advice or have any questions. The door is open and you are welcome.
had a few anons asking for tutorials lately and after trying to organise all the random half guides i’ve drawn up over the past few months into one tutorial i’ve just decided to clean up a few and post them separately. So he’s some really basic notes on constructing faces/proportions etc.
We only have one regret. It’s that we let Kakeru die. Even if it were an accident, we still wouldn’t be able to save Kakeru. I want him to let us carry his troubles with him. I don’t want him to choose death as his resolve. Please… I want you to save Kakeru’s heart.
