Well, you only need the light when it’s burning low Only miss the sun when it’s starts to snow Only know you love her when you let her go Only know you’ve been high when you’re feeling low Only hate the road when you’re missin’ home Only know you love her when you’ve let her go And you let her go
Well yesterday I had a bit of a family reunion to see my brother off. He’s on his way back to Japan… Still riding off the high from the previous day I was more then happy to see everyone again. But after a set of photographs and a few arguments with my Dad I thought of this song.
Now that I’m sitting down and processing the photos I just can’t help but look at all the little lights I feel in my heart. There were definitely some that remained burning strongly yesterday… And some that went out that day. We look so happy in these photos but I know that it’s a poor reflection of reality. Sigh…. Even as adults I can’t believe that we still can’t act that way when we’re together. I guess that’ll be a prayer on my lips till all the lights burn out one day.
One went out when uncle ben got his tumour We used to fish and I fish no more Though he will not return I know one still burns On a fishing boat off the new jersey shore On a fishing boat off the new jersey shore
