Life’s a Party (Batfam)

Requested by an anon

Summary: It’s date night for Bruce and Batmom, but when they come home chaos is unfolding within the mansion.

Warning(s): Shenanigans!

The marina was calm and quite desolate tonight, which made for the perfect location for a date. No one was going to bother you and it just so happened to be one of the main hotspots of activity lately, though the lack of people begged to differ. Nonetheless, it meant that Bruce was able to keep a watchful eye on the area while also showing you off as his arm candy to the stars and moon that shined down on you.

Neither of you barely said anything, enjoying the comfortable silence that fell over you both as you walked. The chill of the air coming off the water only gave you an excuse to walk closer to your beau. He always managed to make dates perfect somehow, even if they were interrupted by maniacs or calls from the principals office - though thankfully tonight he didn’t have to answer to either. It was just you and him, with each other’s undivided attention.

But alas, all good things must end and after hours of aimlessly walking around and talking about anything and everything, you decided to head home. As the car pulled up the long driveway you both could tell something was going on within the house from nearly a mile away. All the lights seemed to be on and music could be heard bumping through the walls like a heartbeat.

“I guess this is what we get for letting Alfred have the night off,” Bruce commented sarcastically, earning a snicker from you.

“I think it’s about time we show them how to really party. Don’t you, dear?” You suggested with a devious look on your face, one which Bruce returned just as deviously.

Hand in hand, you both walked into the house through the garage door, the music thumping into your core. As you progressed towards the epicenter of music and strobe lights, the house became steadily messier and showed signs of empty alcohol bottles and confetti just simply everywhere. The first child you found was Duke, completely passed out sideways in a rocker.

“Is he dead?” You questioned, half serious and Bruce shook his head after taking a pulse and let the sense of relieve wash over you both momentarily.

With a sigh from both of you, you continued your pursuit and not before long, you had slipped into the mass of people gathered in the main ballroom. The sight before you made you both stop and just stare.

Dick was showing off his acrobat moves, currently swinging from the chandelier as Barbara cheered him on from the staircase. Jason was screaming demands at the DJ from the “dance floor.” Tim and Cass were dancing next to each other while Steph had to prop herself up with help from the drink table. And Damian… Damian was no where to be seen which worried you more than seeing him involved in this mess.

The twitch in your eye made you want to go ape shit mother-hen on all of them, dragging each of their most likely intoxicated bodies to their beds. But, no, you had a much better idea. Bruce was thinking the exact same thing and wrapped a hand around your waist before pulling you close to him. A devilish smirk crossed your faces and you emerged yourselves into the crowd, locked together so you wouldn’t lose the other.

In your travels you both acquired a drink and held them tightly in hand as you started dancing with each other. Purposely sloppy, you made sure the two of you were making a scene, grinding, and yelling, and kissing until the people around you started to notice. Just as you had hoped, they began moving away from you, no one wanting to dance next to the old grinding couple, a few of them even realizing who you were.

After about a half hour, the room cleared out enough that a few of the kids spotted you, freezing in place. Bruce notice and motioned in their direction, making you turn your head to spot Tim, Cass, and Steph. The shock on their faces made you laugh and even Steph, who was clearly the most inebriated, widened her eyes and furrowed her eyebrows as if you were figments of her imagination.

“Hey guys! Nice party!” You yelled over the music to them as if you were just another couple of random partygoers.

The lack of anger on yours and Bruce’s faces terrified them all to the core before your face immediately dropped into your trademark serious ‘you’re in deep shit’ look. “It’s time to end it.”

Steph nodded slowly, seeming to take a different meaning to your words as she slurred a goodnight and shuffled along the walls up to her bed. With a shrug you watched her, at least one of them was making this easy though the other two just stood and stared.

“Now,” Bruce chimed in with his own stern look and Tim and Cass bolted, no doubt to find the others and tell of their situation.

Arms folded over your chests, you and Bruce stood side by side in the middle of the ballroom, watching as the people filed out and the music stopped. Jason let a string of expletives out as he started cleaning up bottles before even acknowledging your presence. Tim and Cass kept ushering people out, stumbling slightly in the process.

Dick still hung upside down from the chandelier and he waved with a smile when he saw you, though his words were slow and slightly slurred, “Heyy Mom! Heyy Bruce! You’re home early!”

With a sigh and a hand on your forehead, you offered a small wave with your other hand and rather unenthusiastically replied, “It’s three AM, Dick. Now get down from there.”

When all of the kids stood in front of you, excluding the ones already passed out or the one that was MIA, you looked them over with a disappointed frown before Bruce spoke up, “Tomorrow you’re cleaning this place up. And then we’re going to have a looong talk.”

“But for now, get to bed.” You chimed in, most of the glares being sent towards Cass and Tim, especially considering they were underage.

The two nodded and headed off to pass out, Tim actually glad for once when his head hit the pillow. After they left the room your attention turned back to the three left in front of you. Babs’ cheeks were flushed, her body telling you she obviously participated in the evening’s events. It was clear the second you walked into the room that Dick was far gone and you had to admit, you had some respect for anyone who could do acrobatics while drunk.

But when you looked Jason over, your eyes squinted. “Jason? Are you sober?”

Dick wrapped an arm around Jason’s shoulder and piped up for him, “Jay was our party mom tonight!”

“Dick, honey, go to bed. You too Barbara.” You softly told them and they nodded, slowly and hesitantly heading off in that direction.

“Just wanted to make sure no one died. Cause y’know, I know how that feels and it’s not very pleasant,” Jason explained sarcastically, brushing off the silent allegations that he did it because he was worried and turned to continue picking up a bit.

With a sigh, Bruce put a hand on your shoulder, “I’m going to make sure Duke’s still alive, and make sure he gets to bed.” You nodded up at him and gave a small smile and swiveled to take in the whole image of the trashed ballroom.

You and Morgan had been married only a little over a year when you found out you were expecting your first child. Morgan was beyond excited. He went out and basically bought out every baby store in Toronto. The rest of the team were no different. The little one was being spoiled before they were even born. The boys were beyond excited that their team “Mom & Dad” were now going to be real parents.

You and Morgan had decided not to find out the sex, Mo was fond of it being a surprise. You resorted to calling the baby little Beaut. Kannon had other ideas and called the baby big bird. You were hoping you would not be pushing out an eight-foot yellow bird in just a few weeks.

The pregnancy had been going smoothly. You were 35 weeks and the Leafs were in midst of their playoff run. You were currently dedicating your time convincing the little Beaut to stay safe and sound in your belly. You were standing in the bathroom brushing your teeth when Morgan walked in from morning practice.

“Hey Mama, You okay? You were up and down all night.” He asked wrapping his arms around your protruding belly.

“Just couldn’t get comfortable last night” you smiled trying to pass it off as simply just that, it wasn’t a complete lie. What you left out is that it was all the cramping that was making you uncomfortable. You called your doctor once Morgan had left for practice and he said you should be fine as long as your water didn’t break or the contractions weren’t too close.

“Are you joining me for my pregame nap?” Mo asked, bringing you from your thoughts.

“Ill lay down with you, but if I can’t get comfortable I will go downstairs. I don’t want to keep you up.” You walked over to the bed and laid down with him. He quickly fell asleep. But the cramps kept coming, now a bit closer.

You quickly got up praying not to wake up Mo. He was still out when you reached the door. You smiled at him sleeping so peacefully.

You went downstairs and into the kitchen. You hoped eating something would help settle the little one in your belly. You began making a sandwich, talking to your belly.

“Listen here, little Beaut. I can’t wait to meet you but Daddy has a very important game. So that means you need to keep your little butt in there.”

You felt a kick as if the baby was answering in rebellion.

“Don’t you sass me.” You heard a laugh and turned to see Mo walking down the stairs in his suit.

“Little Beaut being sassy are they?” he asked placing a kiss on your forehead.

“We are going to have our handful aren’t we?”

“Between the little Beaut and the rookies? For sure.” You laughed at his answer.

“Lucy is going to pick you up?” he asked

“Yep, I will see you at the game Captain” You smiled

As you heard the door close, the cramps continued.

“Why won’t you listen!” You threw your hands up as you walked up the stairs to get ready. This baby was leaning towards being more and more like the rookies. You were going to the game and this baby was staying in your stomach.

You had just slipped into one of Morgan’s old practice jerseys. It was one of the only things that felt these days.

You had just finished getting ready, between more and more cramps, as Lucy pulled up. You walked down the driveway and by the time you pulled yourself into her car, you were out of breath.

“Are you alright Mama Rielly?” she immediately asked obviously concerned.

“I am fine, just some cramps, it’s nothing.” You answered through your breathing.

“I am pretty sure they are called contractions when you are pregnant Hun and that we should be going to a hospital, not a hockey game.” She answered refusing to pull out of the driveway.

“Lucy. The doctor said I was fine as long as my water doesn’t break and that the cramps… contractions are not close enough. We are going to the game, I am going to watch my husband win, and this baby is staying in my stomach.” You said quite blatantly, trying to convince yourself more than Lucy.

“Let’s go to a hockey game then,” Lucy replied pulling from the driveway.

Lucy helped you up to the family suite where the attention was quickly turned to you. The girls flocking to you all rubbing your stomach and making sure you were okay. All you wanted to do was sit down.

You finally found your seat and were trying to get through that pointless breathing they taught you at Lamaze class when you were approached by Kannon. He came up and put his ear to your belly.

“How is Big Bwird?” he asked as he rubbed your belly with your hand.

You couldn’t help but smile. “Big Bird is not listening to their mommy.”

“That’s not good when I no listen I get timeout.” Kannon looked back down at your belly. “You no like timeout big bwird, no fun.”

You giggled. “Come on Kannon, Let’s let Auntie Y/N watch the game.” Molly smiled at you as she took Kannon to their seats.

Lucy sat down next to you, “How far apart are they now?”

“A few minutes maybe?” you answered as you tried to breathe through another contraction.

“Y/N we should really go to the hospital.”

“I can make it, Luc.” You tried to convince her as you turned to watch the game.

You had made it hallway through the game. It was the middle of the second period, the score was tied. That was until Morgan scored a breakaway goal and you all stood up to cheer.

Your smile dropped as you felt the liquid drip down your legs. Your shock was quickly over thrown by a contraction. This one was the worst one you had experienced.

“Fuck.” You almost yelled as you gasped for air.  All eyes were suddenly on you.

“Yep, it’s time to go.” Lucy grabbed your hand and lead you towards the door. Steph was following you but was headed towards downstairs.

You looked back at her and everyone else. “No one tells him! Not until the game is over!” you demanded.

The girls looked at you. “But Y/N…”

Promise me you won’t, or I will stay until the game is over.” You stared them all down and they knew you were serious.

You looked at Lucy. “Now let’s go have a baby.”

You reached the hospital and the contractions had calmed down and you were settled into the room. Morgan’s Mom had gone to the house to pick up your hospital bag and a change of clothes for Morgan since you all knew he would rush straight here. Lucy was feeding you ice chips as the three of you were watching the rest of the Leafs game. You prayed it didn’t go into overtime.

The game ended and the Leafs had won. All the guys were on the ice celebrating winning. That’s when they all turned and looked confused at both Steph and Sydney running out on the ice. They both almost tackled Morgan. You suddenly watched Morgan race towards the locker room as all the guys were behind him.

You shook your head. Not 15 minutes had passed before the door to your room swung open. There stood Morgan, still have dressed in his hockey gear.

He rushed to your side. “Y/N! Are you okay? Why didn’t you come get me?”

“I’m fine, it was a big game. You didn’t need to sit here with me, I’m not that far into labor.”

“But what if you were? I would never miss this. You and this baby come before hockey any day of the week. How long have you been feeling contractions?”

“Since last night maybe?” You shrugged trying to look innocent.

“Okay maybe I should have told you, but everything worked out. So let’s just focus on now meeting the little Beaut. Plus, I’m about to push your child out, I get a free pass” You smiled.

He chuckled placing a kiss to your temple.

“Now go change, you stink.” You giggled.

He rolled his eyes and took his clothes from his mother.

A few hours and quite a few curse words later, you were lying in bed next to Mo holding your baby girl.

“She really is a Beaut,” Morgan whispered in your ear, stroking the newborn’s cheek.

“What should we name her?” you asked looking up at your husband.

“Charlotte, we can call her Charlie.” He smiled not taking his eyes off of her.

“I love it, Charlotte Grace Rielly.”

Morgan took his eyes off of her for a second, “We are parents.”

“We are, should we introduce her to the rest of her siblings?”

He laughed as he got up, taking one more look at his little family before he went into the waiting room.

Soon your room was filled with the entire Toronto roster. All of them swooning over the little baby in your arms.

 And your family was complete.

Easter Bunny [Jason Todd x Reader]

A/N: Happy Easter everyone!!! Hope you all enjoy the holiday to it’s fullest and find plenty of easter eggs! I made this fic especially for easter and I hope you guys love it. This is kind of a sequel to Now and Always because I’m using the same child character I made. There’s a pretty large age jump, and I know the speech is advanced for a toddler but I have a nephew who actually just turned three and is able to speak like this so I’m basing Addilyn’s speech like that. I hope you all love it!

Thank you @memento-scribet for helping me with the end! You’re the bomb!

Easter; a bright, warm time of year. A time little Addilyn loves, now that she’s big enough to run, she loves to go outside and play all of the time. You and Jason take her to the park almost everyday so she will let out some of that energy.

However, she isn’t fond of the mascot of this holiday. When you both took her to the mall to see the Easter Bunny, she wasn’t having it. She was absolutely terrified before you even got to the front of the line. Deciding not to traumatize the poor girl, Jason scooped her up and you both took her for ice cream instead.

This was a few days before Easter. Now it’s the day of, and Jason was getting ready to load her into the car as you grabbed some things to take to the manor. “Mommy! Zeebee?!” you heard her yell as Jason was carrying her out the apartment door. Smiling you came up behind them, the stuffed zebra in your hand. “Do you mean this little fella?” Her smile widened as she stuck her hands out for it, handing it over she hugged it tight before snuggling into Jason’s shoulder. “Mom to the rescue as always.” Jason said amused as the little girl nodded.

Following them out to the car, watching as Jason buckled her into her car seat. He’s really become quite the father, not that you had any doubts. When he pulled away from the car and closed the door he turned to see you watching him. “Take a picture it will last longer” he teased walking up to you. “What can I say, you’re a hot dad.” He laughed before pecking your lips.

After hearing a loud “ewwy” from the car you both laughed before getting in.

The drive to the manor was all around uneventful, Addilyn ended up falling asleep the moment you pulled out. Both chuckling when you peered back there and saw her fast asleep. But like magic, she was up when you pulled into the manor driveway. Bouncing in her seat, ready to see the family.

Jason grabbed the stuff you brought out of the trunk as you got Addie out of her seat. The minute her feet hit the ground she was running up to the door, Alfred opened the door before you even had to knock. “Alfred!” She cheered, running right into his arms. “Hello Miss Addilyn, how is your Easter?” he asked kneeling in front of her. “Good!” she grinned, looking past Alfred she saw Bruce. “Papa Bruce!” she cheered again before running into his arms as he scooped her up “Hey sweetheart!” he greeted her.

You and Jason greeted Alfred, you giving him a hug, before making your way farther into the manor. You hugged Bruce as Jason shook his hand. He carried Addilyn into the living room where everyone was. She jumped out of Bruce’s arms and ran to see her aunts and uncles.

“Whoa!” Steph yelled when she ran in, “Look at you, your dress is so pretty!” Addie grinned and hugged her. You and Jason came in next, seeing nearly all of Jason’s family. Tim, Damian, Steph, Cass, Barbara, but no Dick. “Where’s Dick?” you asked, brows furrowed in confusion.

“He said he has a surprise or something. He’s going to be late.” Tim answered as he was watching Steph play with Addie.

“Why do I have a bad feeling about this?” Jason whispered to you, making you laugh and shake your head. You ended up going with him into the kitchen, watching as he helped Alfred with some cooking. Alfred asked you guys about Addie and how things were. He knew you both were talking about having another child, so he questioned if you had decided too or not. All the while unbeknownst to Dick coming into the manor.

Addilyn was still in the living room playing with the others, right now Damain was showing her a new trick he had taught Titus. “Uncle Dami, how do you do dat?” her voice small. “Firmness and superiority” he answered as Addilyn just looked at him confused. “Damian she’s still little, she doesn’t know what that means.” Tim stated as Damian’s expression fell a bit. The others in the room laughed.

“Whas funny?” Addilyn looked around at the family, the ‘t’ not making it into ‘what.’ Though they paused when they heard Dick come in the door. “Hellooo?!” he called. Barbara yelled that they were in the living room. Though they all burst out laughing when they saw him in a giant Easter Bunny costume.

“Hi! Everyone I’m the Easter Bunny! And I’m here to see Addilyn!” He called cheerily, and looked down at the toddler. Her eyes widened in horror before she ran out of the room screaming. “Mommy! Daddy! Monster!” tears running down her face.

You and Jason immediately ran from the kitchen, her going straight into Jason’s arms. “Hey peanut what’s wrong?” he asked her softly as you ran a hand up and down her back. “M-monster! B-big bunny m-monster!” she sobbed into Jason’s shoulder. Exchanging a look you both went into the living room.

Coming upon the scene of Dick in an Easter Bunny costume and the family confused at what was happening. “Smooth Grayson, she’s terrified of the Easter Bunny” Jason glared at his brother. “She is?” they were all shocked.

You nodded, “Why do you think nobody got a mall picture, she didn’t even make it through the line.” continuing to rub her back, as she was beginning to calm down. Dick took off the costume head and walked behind Jason to where Addie could see him. “I’m sorry Addie, it’s just me. I didn’t mean to scare you.” he apologized as she peeked up at him.

“Uncle Dick?” she asked shyly. He nodded smiling at her. “Don’t do that again!” she yelled at him, surprising everyone. He chuckled “I won’t I promise” nodding. “Pinky promise?” she held out her hand. He wrapped his pinky around her tiny one, “Pinky promise.”

She nodded before turning to Jason, “I’m okay daddy.” Jason smiled before saying, “Okay, but can I have a kiss first?” She giggled before kissing his cheek. “And your mommy” he angled for her to peck your lips, which she did. Setting her down she returned to playing, avoiding the bunny head at all costs.

Jason wrapped an arm around your waist, “Can I have a kiss too?” he smirked at you. Rolling your eyes you connected your lips to his, getting a collective ‘ew’ from the family, minus Bruce. Addie giggled at the family’s reaction to her parents. “Mommy and daddy are yucky” she commented smiling. “Oh we’re ‘yucky’ huh?” Jason asked before running over and scooping her up as she laughed. You were right behind him as you both began to tickle her relentlessly. “No! Mommy, Daddy stop!” she squealed.

The family laughed at her giggles before Barbara broke in, “How about we go look for easter eggs? You know Addie, Uncle Dick is the best at finding them and he owes you for scaring you.” She smiled as both you and Jason let the little girl breath. “Tt. I could find more than Grayson” Damian crossed his arms.

“Is that a challenge?” Dick cocked an eyebrow at the younger male. “Perhaps” Damian shrugged.

Addie laughed before latching onto Dick’s leg, “Addie’s on my team!” Dick cheered before picking the girl up and running to the backyard. Damian hot on his heels.

“Wait I want in!” Steph stood from her spot, grabbing Tim’s hand and pulling him with her. “Wait Steph!” Tim yelled but it didn’t stop her. Cass, Barbara, and Bruce were the next ones out. Most likely to keep from any injuries happening.

You and Jason were still sitting on the floor watching as the family excitedly exited. Both laughing at the sight before looking at each other. “Hey [F/n]” moving so he was right next to you. “Hmm?” humming in acknowledgment.

He hesitated before asking,“Are you ready to have another baby?” uncertainty in his tone, keeping his blue eyes locked with yours. Letting out a sigh, you slowly connected your lips to his in a chaste kiss, which he reciprocated. Pulling away you met his eyes again and nodded, “I am.”

His face broke out in a beaming grin before he kissed you again in the most loving way. After breaking away he took your hand, pulling you up to your feet. After wrapping an arm around your waist he led you out to the patio, not before mumbling how much he loves you in your ear and you happily returning it.

Hockey Camp - Auston Matthews (Part 6)

Auston Matthews x Reader

Word Count: 2018

Warnings: Minor swearing (as usual)

[Part 1] [Part 2] [Part 3] [Part 4] [Part 5]

A/N: It’s yo girl back at it with another chapter in under 12 hours. I just wrote this, sleep-deprived, at 6am while at work, so if there’s any grammatical mistakes, shoot me a message.

Least to say, the rest of dryland doesn’t go as planned. You can’t seem to pull your eyes away from Auston. He’s throwing you off your game, and he’s well aware of it.

You keep telling yourself to focus, but then you catch a glimpse of Auston’s arms while he’s doing a push-up and you get distracted all over again.

By the time dryland is over, you’re sweaty not only from exerting yourself to complete the sprint drills, but also from frustration. How dare he just take his shirt off like that in the middle of dryland, knowing exactly the effect he has on you!

“That was rough,” Steph says while grabbing her water bottle from the bench you’re sitting on, sighing as she sits down beside you.

“Tell me about it.”

You watch as Auston fools around with some of the guys on his team, yelling and chasing each other around and trying to steal each other’s hats. They’re like oversized kids, honestly.

“Would your lack of focus perhaps be caused by a certain shirtless male?”

You blush deeply and give Steph a sheepish look. “Maybe.”

She grins. “Don’t worry, I totally get it. He’s super hot.” She gives Auston a quick appreciative glance.

“But not as hot as Mitch, right?”

Steph’s face turns dark red.

“Caught you,” you tease her. “You two are so obvious it’s actually quite hysterical.”

“Really? You think he’s interested as well?” she asks, completely earnest, a trace of anxiety in her voice. Steph had been treated badly in the past by guys who were only interested in one part of her and not her as a whole.

“Steph, he couldn’t be more obvious if he tried,” you reassure her. “Mitch never shuts up, and when he saw you I honestly believe he forgot what words were. He just stared at you for two minutes straight with his mouth hanging open. I got secondhand embarrassment from watching him.”

“Oh my god, really?” Steph giggles, relieved.

“Yes really. Auston and I were trying so hard not to laugh.”

“Okay, good. Because I was thinking I was just imagining it and playing things up in my mind like I normally do.”

You think seriously for a moment before responding: “You know Steph, I haven’t known Mitch for very long, but he truly seems like a decent guy. And you know me, I don’t say that about just anyone. I’d say pursue him if you want, but don’t put your entire heart on the line, okay? Be careful. I don’t think he would do what they did,” you say, referring to the boys who had used her in the past. Anger rises in you as you think back to a broken Steph, crying on your bedroom floor. “But I wouldn’t dismiss him as incapable of being a dick.”

“Okay. Alright.” She nods her head in agreement. “And you be careful about Auston as well.” She gives you a stern look.

“Don’t worry, I don’t think it’s going to turn into anything serious. Hockey comes first.”

You both fall silent, turning your attention back to the boys. They’ve finally quieted down and are helping the instructor clean up the last few pylons left on the field.

By habit, your eyes fall on Auston, following him as he collects the pylons and jogs back over to the instructor to hand them back to her.

Auston glances over and catches you staring for what must be the thirtieth time. He raises an eyebrow. You blush deeply, trying to look anywhere but his upper half as he walks up to you. “Um, your shoelace is undone,” you explain, pointing at his foot.

“Oh,” he says, looking down. Sure enough, his left shoelace has come undone. When he bends down to fix it, Steph gives you an impish look that you try to avoid.

“You know, I’m just going to see if she needs anymore help with the pylons,” Steph says, winking at you as she stands up.

You shoot her daggers, but she just grins and skips away, leaving you alone with Auston.

“So…that was a fun session,” he says.

You stand up, uncomfortable sitting in front of him as he peers down at you, and also trying to avoid being directly eye-level with his stomach. You’re trying so hard not to stare.

“Do you want to walk back with me?” you ask.

“Sure, but I was actually going to grab some water first. You mind?”

“Not at all,” you say, following him to the hose by the bleachers.

He turns it on and starts drinking, and you cross your arms, trying to look anywhere else but at him. Once he puts a shirt back on you’ll be able to act like a normal human being again.

“Do you want some?” he asks, extending the hose out towards you.

You step back so the water doesn’t hit you. “No thanks.”

“What’s wrong? You seem like you’re a million miles away.”

“I’m fine - just tired.” You give him a small smile.

He opens his mouth slightly, as if he’s about to say something but then decides against it, shrugging and taking another sip of water.

You focus your gaze instead on the row of pine trees lining the field, and the way the sun has lowered in the sky. Maybe you’ll go out and sit on the dock with Steph tonight to watch the sunset.

Suddenly, you feel something wet seeping through the toe of your sneaker, and you jerk your head back to face Auston, but he’s still drinking, the hose nowhere near you. You must be imagining things.

You turn your attention back to nature, trying to find shapes in the few puffy clouds that dot the sky above you.

You feel the spray of water tickling your leg. This time, you catch him staring at you out of the corner of his eye. You raise an eyebrow. “Can I help you?”

“I’m not sure what you mean,” he says innocently.

You turn around again, but this time, you’re still watching him in your peripheral vision. He pretends to drink for a few seconds before flicking the hose up and spraying you. It hits your thigh, the cold water soaking your left side of your shorts instantly.

“That’s it!” You march over to grab the hose from him, but he directs it upwards, hitting you full on in the chest. You shriek. “Auston Matthews, you’re dead!”

He laughs and tries to run away, hose in tow, but you’re faster. You grab the hose, struggling to pry his hands off it. He tries to point it back towards you, but you push forward at just the right moment, and the hose bends back, the stream of water hitting him directly in the face.

His face crumples in shock and he swats the hose away, trying to blink away the water that drips down from his hair into his eyes. You laugh and he opens his eyes, mock glaring at you. “Oh, it’s on.”

He grabs the top part of the hose from you and sprays you in the face. You dodge most of it, but the water still manages to graze the side of your ear. It’s ice cold. You wrestle with him for the hose, both of you spinning around each other like some sort of odd dance.

You take turns chasing one another around and trying to hit the each other with the hose. You’re quite proud of the direct shot you get to his ass, soaking his blue shorts.

“Aw, did someone have an accident?” you tease, looking pointedly at the dark blue patch on his butt.

Auston narrows his eyes, but smiles. “Alright, that’s the last straw. I’ve been going easy on you because I felt bad, but now you’ve just crossed the line.”

“Oh no,” you say sarcastically, holding your hand up to your mouth, pretending to be scared. “I’m terrified.”

“Oh, you should be,” he says, grinning. “Nobody else has made it out alive.”

“Is that so?”

“Uh-huh.” He nods seriously.

“Because I’ve been told I’m pretty scary too.” You saunter up to him slowly, staring at him through your eyelashes, smiling sweetly. Two can play at this game.

You see the confident look slide off his face, replaced with something unreadable. You step up into his personal space and he swallows, never breaking your gaze.

Bravely, you place a finger on his chest. He glances down at it briefly before looking back up at you. His eyes darken. You walk your fingers all the way up to his chin, each movement slow and deliberate. You push his chin up gently with your index finger as you lean in closer.

“You scared?” you breathe against his lips.

He shakes his head. His eyes flicker down to your mouth and back up to your eyes several times.

You smirk. “Well, you should be. You’ve got to pay closer attention.” You lean in like you’re about to kiss him, but what he doesn’t see is your other arm reaching up with the hose at the same time. The water hits him down the back of his neck, and he yelps, jumping away. His face is so shocked and genuinely surprised that you can’t help double over with laughter.

When he recovers, he’s glaring at you. “That wasn’t very nice.”

“Who says I have to play fair?”

“Well, if that’s how you want to play, I can play dirty too.” Your breath catches in your throat.

He walks up to you, hose in hand. You step back nervously, until your back hits the wall of the change room building next to the bleachers. You’re in for it now.

He walks all the way up until he’s mere inches away from you. He’s so close you can feel his breath on your face, cool and minty.

“Is this fair?” He drops the hose and grips onto your hips. His hands, although cold from the water, feel like fire on your skin. You can feel the water from the dropped hose soaking your feet, but at this moment in time, you don’t particularly care.

“Y-yes,” you stammer, trying to calm your racing heart.

“Really?” he says in a low voice. “Is it fair if I do this?” He gently brushes your hair off your neck before bending down and kissing your throat very gently. Your heart goes wild as he continues to kiss you, leaving a trail of soft, open-mouthed kisses all the way up your neck.

He pulls back after grazing your jaw with his lips and looks you in the eye. “Still fair?”

You can barely nod.

“Hmm,” he murmurs. “Why do I feel like that’s a lie?”

“It isn’t,” you say unconvincingly.

He laughs softly. “You sure about that?”

“No,” you answer honestly.

He smiles and tucks your hair behind your ear, just like that first night out on the dock. Then, ever so slowly, he leans in and presses his lips to yours.

He kisses you softly, hesitant at first, waiting for your reaction. When you kiss him back, you feel him relax. His lips part slightly as he deepens the kiss. Your hands come up and knot in his hair, pulling the wet strands gently. He moans softly into your mouth and reaches a hand down to squeeze your waist.

Suddenly, it hits you what’s happening. You pull away abruptly.

Auston opens his eyes and blinks slowly, confused. “What’s wrong?”

“I-” you can’t seem to get the words out. “I can’t. This isn’t…”

Concern flickers across his face. “Why not? Did I do something wrong?”

“No - no, it’s nothing like that.” You turn away from him, dropping his gaze. You don’t want to see the pain fill his eyes. “It’s just that…I can’t…this…” you gesture with your hands wildly. “I have to stop this before it starts.” Auston’s face drops.

You pull away from him, wanting more than anything to stay in his arms, but you know this is the right decision. This will hurt less in the end.

Wash’s Meandering Character Alignment

Wash has one of the most interesting character arcs out of any of the RvB characters. He’s certainly come a long way from his first chronological appearance, let alone from when we were first introduced to him in Recovery One!

Since I’m a D&D nerd, I thought it’d be a lot of fun to examine Wash’s character development through the lens of D&D’s character alignment system. He moves around quite a bit, all things considered, at least in my opinion!

(Here’s a handy chart for reference) x

As always, these are just my opinion. You are free to disagree with me. I hardly consider myself to be the ultimate authority on Agent Washington. This is just my own interpretation of Wash and his behaviors.

So! Wash during Project Freelancer is lawful neutral. What? I hear many of you say. But Wash is so nice! Yes. He might be. But good ≠ nice. We hear Wash express a great deal of concerns over the course of Seasons 9-10 (flashback), yes. But… they’re almost always concern about the rules. (Continues below the cut because I don’t want to flood your dashes, and I get long-winded.)

When he Sees Me

(Author’s Note: So I have been listening to “When he Sees Me” from Waitress and well….I was inspired. Thanks to you Sixer, you got me all Stephew feelsy)

Stephanie paced around her dorm room as her roommates watched is concerned silence. She hadn’t stopped moving since coming home from class, and not a single one of them knew why.

“Stephanie,” one roommate called out causing Steph to snap her head towards her, “what’s going on, darlin’? You seem rather frazzled.”

Stephanie bit her lip, mulling over her thoughts before taking a deep breath, making her decision.

“Matthew asked me out today.” She sighed, not looking up at her roommates. All three of the girls squealed and gasped, obviously happy about the news. Stephanie flinched at that, her face taking on a concerned look.

“Wait…Steph why do you look so worried? Aren’t you excited? I mean, he’s your best friend.” One of the girls asked causing the others to pause.

“Well yeah but…but… Look,” Stephanie closed her eyes, getting the girls to sit in attention, “I stick with real things, usually facts and figures and the what not. I can plan accordingly when things are tangible like numbers. But this? Feelings? It’s all a guessing game and I don’t like guessing games.”

“But don’t you have feelings for him?” one of the girls asked.

“I don’t know! I don’t understand these feelings. And I certainly don’t know what will happen on this date. What if he asks me questions about myself that I don’t even know? What if he sits to close? What if he’s weird and eats Oreo cookies wrong?”

“How do you eat an Oreo cookie wrong?”

“I don’t know! Like eat the cookie before the cream or something! I mean what if…what if when he sees me for the date, what if he doesn’t like me? What if he just bails on me? How am I going to be ok afterwards? How can I loose a best friend like that? No…you know what, its better to just cancel.” Stephanie reached for her cellphone on the table but her roommate snatched it away.

“Stephanie don’t you think you are being a bit dramatic?”

“I am not! I’m being cautious. I don’t really know him anyway! He could be some weirdo psychopath or something!” at this her friends snickered. “I’m serious! He could have just befriended me to get at me. Just to use me for one night. Or even worse use those lovely eyes and make me laugh…gosh what if when he sees me, he sees I like him and he knows it? What if it opens something inside of me and I can’t stop it! What if he holds me and…and I like it and then I’m done for?” Stephanie flopped to the floor worried and unsure.

“Stephanie, darlin’, just go on the date. I’m sure you two will have a lovely time. You just need to trust that he’s a good friend and just wants to get to know ya better.” Stephanie sighed knowing there was no way out of it.

Stephanie couldn’t help the laughter that erupted from her as Matthew nudged her shoulder laughing along.

“Aww come on Steph, you wouldn’t ever try it?” he asked raising a brow at her as they slowly made their way back to Stephanie’s apartment. The date had been a simple one, just a dinner and a nice walk. But Stephanie hadn’t laughed this much in a long time and was feeling right at home.

“Why would I? that’s just gross!” she countered back, relishing in the fake hurt on Matthew’s face.

“Well I’ll count that out as an option for our second date.” He pouted. Stephanie felt her heart jump. A second date? Does that mean, he wants to see me again?

“A second date huh?” she asked trying to sound playful but cringing at how pathetic it came out. Matthew stopped to look at her.

“I mean only if you want to Stephanie. I…well I had a really great time with you tonight. No surprise there, I always have a great time with you.” This caused Stephanie to giggle. “Would you want to go on a second date?”

Stephanie looked up at Matthew, and seeing his eyes so large and warm, full of kindness, she couldn’t help but nod her head. “Yeah…I think I would like that very much.”

The smile on Matthew’s face took her breath away as he stood closer to her. “Well yay! I’ll make sure to make the next one even better!”

They arrived at her door and Stephanie felt nervous and awkward all of a sudden. “Well thank you so much for the date. I had a really great time.” Stephanie breathed, smiling up at Matt. He returned the smile and shrugged.

“It was nothing. As long as you had a good time then all I can say is mission accomplished. Thank you for going with me. I had a blast. So I guess goodnight then.” Matthew smiled raising his arms for a hug, which was normally how they parted ways from class.  Stephanie wrapped her around him but as Matthew held her Stephanie felt something new and it caused her heart to speed up. She felt anxious and at peace all at the same time. Before she even knew what she was doing she pulled back and kissed him.

She could feel Matthew’s stunned expression and it shocked her back into reality as she pulled herself away. “Oh my gosh! I’m so sorry…I didn’t mean…I was just…oh gosh.” Her face started to burn up as she looked back at Matthew’s face. He was staring at her until he pulled her back in and kissed her back. Now it was her turn to be stunned. She didn’t know how or when but she relaxed in his arms and just enjoyed the feeling of being so close to him. He held her so gently as though she could break, she could feel his heart beat against her own chest and something about it felt right. After a while they pulled apart, both a little breathless and blushing.

“Well um…goodnight.” Stephanie quickly rushed out and ran back into her room. What the heck was that?! Why did she do that? And more importantly, what did this boy do to her?

Characters: Y/N (Reader), Jensen Ackles, Steph (OFC aka @torn-and-frayed is an ass and I blame her for this), Nichelle (OFC - sorry but I needed another character to rub Steph off on @nichelle-my-belle - you won her!)

Pairing: Jensen x Reader

Warnings: Haunted house, dumbass kids behavior, childhood bullying (sorta but not really),  jump scare,

Wordcount: 2610 (exact for Steph since this is kinda for her)

A/N: This is basically why you should never talk to @torn-and-frayed - we were talking Halloween and she told me a story which became a fic in my head.

Thanks to the amazing and patient @bkwrm523 for unsticking me when I got stuck on this.

Thanks to my sweet friend @blacktithe7 for being awesome enough to wanna beta this for me.

Going to the fair at Halloween was a tradition. You hadn’t been in your hometown for the past couple of years, but this year you had gotten time off work. You were staying with your best friend Steph and her roommate Nichelle, who you had quickly taking a liking to as well.

The three of you had all decided to go to the fair together, mostly for the Haunted House, which never proved to be as scary as they intended it to be. It was always fun to see the teenagers scream and jump.

You were all standing in line for the Haunted House, giggling and chatting about the rude waiter at Steak ‘N Shakes where you’d had dinner.

“Well being an ass is apparently a job requirement in that place,” you snorted, and Steph’s eyes opened wide.

“Oh my God, Y/N. Are you still not over him?” She teased with a smirk on her face, making you punch her shoulder.

“There is nothing to get over. He was an ass to me all the way through high school. Why the hell did you always assume I liked him?” you hissed at her, making her laugh.

“Wait. What am I missing here? Who?” Nichelle looked from you to Steph, and you both answered in unison.

“Jensen Ackles.”

sportarobbie headcanon that stephanie is like their adopted daughter, even though robbie complains and acts like having to deal with her annoys him. but one day stephanie is sad and sportacus isn't there, so robbie comforts her - he can relate, since he's Sad a lot too. sportacus tries his best but he's too darn happy and optimistic all the time, so then robbie becomes stephanie's go-to when she needs comfort, and sporty watches from the sidelines with that 'proud bf' look on his face

Honestly, Robbie is such a good dad/mom. He’s like that emotional support parent who literally comforts everyone and is just really supportive.

Like if older Stephanie were going through depression, Robbie would be there and knows exactly how to handle the emotions of a moody teen/kid.

Sport is more of the guy to help with body confidence and would help with Steph.

Altogether… They’re just good dads who love their daughter.

Handcuffs: Chapter Two

Jason and Tim try to figure out what happened – and get an unexpected audience.

“Star Wars, huh?” Jason said slyly. “Didn’t peg you for a fan of the dark side. You never were a rule breaker.”

The way he says it, all dark and full of promise, made Tim’s head spin. Images flooded his mind, unbidden, of Jason wearing his leather jacket and looking like the perfect bad boy of Tim’s teenage dreams.

“What can I say?” Tim swallowed, hard. “I guess I have a thing for guys in helmets.”

Tiny humans aren’t so bad

Characters: Steve x Reader, Bucky x Reader, Tony x Reader

Prompt: lostmermaidponyo : Can I make another fluffy request to ease the pain of the trailer? Reader is forced to babysit their considerably younger sister who is a huge super hero fan girl and the team has to deal with helping babysit a small child as well as keep her out of trouble (like getting into Tony’s lab or Bruce’s experiments)

Author’s Notes: I changed it a little because I didn’t want it to be too much like my You Owe Me Big Time short. Hope you like it, sorry it’s lengthy!

“Y/N, it won’t kill you to watch your sister for one day,” your mom said. You huffed, feeling like a teenager again. “It might, you don’t know. And I’ve told you, it could endanger her just being at the Tower. It’s not a daycare. Just because I have the day off doesn’t mean I won’t get called in for a mission.”

#MatpatDeservesLove because he’s such a dedicated content creator. Sure, I don’t agree with all of his theories but they all have some reasoning at least. Oh and also— THEY’RE JUST THEORIES! It’s all in good fun and he so often encourages discussion. Mat makes such an effort to connect with all of us theorists and the incessant amount of hate has to be taking a toll on him. You don’t have to like the guy, but you don’t have to go out of the way to make tumblr posts saying “I HATE MATPAT !!”

Honestly, he’s been an inspiration to me when it comes to school and I feel overwhelmed. I’m always super excited to watch Game Theory videos and livestreams. Steph and Mat are such caring people and I want nothing but the best for them.

So overall, #MatpatDeservesLove because he’s not just the Game Theory guy, he’s a person.

A thank you to @hotladypants for producing Carmilla!

There's No Such Thing as Jaiden

Moving to university was the best decision I’ve made. I love my flat mates: Tina, Mal, Ollie and Steph and me (Dane). There’s supposed to be 6 of us but the student dropped out last minute which worked out great for us because we each have more room in the fridge in our shared kitchen. For the 2 months we’ve been here everything has been perfect. Of course, things had to change.

Last weekend I went home for a few days to see family, when I got back I was super excited to see my flat, especially because it was Tina’s birthday! So when I came in they were all sat in the kitchen drinking and playing cards. I rushed to my room, got Tina’s present a bottle of Jack Daniels and joined my friends. In the centre of our kitchen is a round table with 6 chairs, usually there’s only 5 out but I didn’t think as to why there were six. I sat down next to Tina who was dealing the cards for a game of poker. I gave her her present, greeted the others and pured a drink when Ollie said:

“Dane, you’re gonna have to move round here, Jaiden was sitting there.”

I raised my eyebrow. Who was Jaiden? I moved and asked the group who he was. They all looked at me funny. Steph hissed:

“Stop being rude, I know you two don’t get on but you can’t just pretend like he isn’t here. He’s part of the flat too!”

This threw me. I didn’t have any enemies at uni, I wasn’t there long enough to have enemies. The game continued and conversation began. I kept my eye on ‘Jaiden’s’ chair but no one sat there. If he wasn’t coming back then why was it an issue that I sat there in the first place. By this point I was too involved with the game to care. I was winning and once that started there was no stopping me.

As the night went on we sang Happy Birthday to Tina about 3 times and drunk more and more. The next thing I remember was waking up in my bed with dry mouth and a head ache. The strap of my watch had created funny imprints on my cheek and my face was sore. I didn’t plan on getting out of bed until I smelt bacon, that was my signal to go to the kitchen. When I got there my flat mates were all sat with plates filled with bacon, sausages, beans, toast, eggs.. the works! A proper English fry up to cure my hangover would go down a treat.

I took mine from the microwave and sat down at the table 5 out 6 seats were filled. As I felt sorry for myself over my breakfast I noticed the time was 9:15, my lecture had started 15 minutes ago and there was no way I was going to it now.

“Which one of you beauties made the breakfast then?” I asked.

Mal spoke up, slurping his tea.

“Jaiden. He got up early to make us all a hangover cure then went to the lecture you’re supposed to be at.”

“My lecture? Why’s he going to that?”

“Because he’s on your course….”

Clearly my friends were keeping up this charade and I wasn’t going to fulfil their childish need to have me kick off asking about Jaiden. So I played along.

“Yeah, I know that but what I meant was, why did he go there? It’s boring as hell anyway.”

The rest of the morning was spent lounging about, annoying Steph about the 4 guys and 1 girl she was seeing. The same as everyday. That afternoon I was watching Netflix when a knock came to my door. A sharp single knock and then paper was slid under the crack in the door. I was expecting a friend at 4:30 but when I looked at my watch it was only 3. I got out of bed to look at the paper and it was my lecture notes with a post it on the front:

“Here’s what you missed today. Got an essay due for Jon, Friday. If you need help go see him in his office. - Jaiden”

I laughed and opened my door expecting to see Mal and Ollie there pissing about but no one was there. I saw the door at the end of the hall close just as I opened mine. The door that belonged to the drop out student so had never actually been moved into. We need keys to get into our rooms so it wasn’t any of the others.

I was bewildered but curious. So, I strolled down the hall with the papers in my hand a knocked on the door, loudly. No answer. I began to pund on the door this time. Shouting Jaiden’s name. No answer. I chuckled and walked away.

That night was my turn to cook dinner. Spaghetti bolognese. My speciality. I cooked it and dished it out, 5 plates for the five of us.

“What about a plate for Jaiden?”

I rolled my eyes.

“Well Jaiden isn’t here is he? If he wants some he’ll have to plate it up for himself.”

“That’s a bit out of order mate” Ollie said. “You know he has physio on mondays.”

Physio? They’ve really perfected this.

“Fine. I’ll plate some for Jaiden. Put it in the microwave. Think it’ll be okay for him there?”

The others stayed silent. Dinner was awkwardly silent that night and I wasn’t interested in giving them the satisfaction of my frustration. I washed my dish and went to my room without saying a word. An hour later I got up to use the bathroom. I stood in the hall waiting for Steph to finish and played around on my phone. Out of the corner of my eye I saw something. It was a figure, a human figure. A man. He was stood outside the empty room. My head spun up and my eyes locked onto… nothing. There was nothing there.

A couple of days later things had grown tense in the flat. No one was talking to me and vice versa. I’d had enough and one night stormed into the kitchen and just came out with it.

“I hate how this has turned out. Yeah it was funny at first, me being gone for the weekend and you guys making up this Jaiden person to fool me but I’ve had enough. You’ve taken it too far and I just want my flat mates back.”

Mal stood up.

“What joke? You were the one who came back home and completely pretended Jaiden didn’t exist. Do you know how bad that must be? I know you two clashed but completely ignoring someone’s existence is what can drive people to suicide!”

Thing started to get heated between Mal and I, by this point I was stood looking at the floor when a figure, the same figure came and stood next to me. I could see it out of the corner of my eye. Only, when I looked up, nothing. No one was there. There was silence in the kitchen, until Steph spoke:

“Mal and Dane are arguing.”

I raised my head again and went to talk when she spoke again.

“Because of you. Because of the way Dane’s been treating you.”

I spoke up.

“Who the fuck are you talking to, Steph?”

“Really Dane? You’re still gonna pretend like Jaiden doesn’t exist when he’s stood right there?!”

That was it I’d have enough. I stormed out of the kitchen and slammed my room door shut. I could hear the others talking about me and now I was done.

I don’t know what happened to them over the weekend, why they decided that this was a joke they were gonna carry on and make me feel bad about for not complying with their need to humiliate me but I was done. The next morning I requested a transfer to different halls.

As I was packing my stuff Tina came into my room. She was asking me to stay to sort things out but I wasn’t interested. As she was talking I saw the door to the empty room move behind her head. Of course when I looked right at it it was shut, the same way it had been since September. Tina turned and waved at thin air and then came back to talking to me. I rolled my eyes. I looked down at my watch to see what time it was, I wanted to be moved out by 5 and Tina was wasting my time.

“Dane, you said last week that after your argument with Jaiden that he was nothing to you and you weren’t even going to acknowledge his existence. Now I get-”

“Wait, what argument?”

“The argument you had about your missing watch. You said you’d left it in the kitchen and that Jaiden was the last person in there. You basically persecuted him there and then. You told us all that you were gonna forget about him and never talk to him again. Like he didn’t exist”

“Tina that’s ridiculous, I’ve got my watch-”

I looked down at my wrist and noticed it wasn’t there. My watch wasn’t on my wrist. The watch that I remember looking at 5 minutes ago. The watch that made funny marks on my face monday morning. The watch.. the watch that I took off on Thursday of the previous week when I was making pizza. That I left on the side and then went to a party…. to a party with Jaiden. It was so surreal, out of the corner of my eye I was the figure again. I looked at it this time and there he was. Jaiden was stood there. Tall, blonde and really skinny. He looked awkward as I stared at him.

It was like I was seeing him for the first time. Thhen I remembered when he was stood at the door when I was waiting for the toilet, I looked at him and he saw me, he waved but I just looked right through him as though he wasn’t there. Because he wasn’t there! He’d never been there.

But he had. He’d been there all along. I remembered helping him and his mum move his stuff up the stairs. Going on course nights out with him. Helping each other with essays.

I’d completely forgotten about him. He wasn’t even a memory, he was non-existent.
