Pairing: Jungkook x Reader

Genre: angst, fashion designer Jungkook AU,

Summary:  Your life was nothing but a drag until you met Jeon Jungkook, the alluringly beautiful fashion design student who asked you to model for his upcoming runway show. Soon you find yourself pulled into his eccentric group of friends and their enticing world of fashion, sex and music, a world that may ultimately leave your heart in pieces.

Inspired by the anime/manga Paradise Kiss ♥

The day after your accidental meeting with Jungkook in the library, your brain was swamped with thoughts of him,  of that beautiful black velvet dress and the dim and dusty ex-bar that the four of them so passionately made clothes in day and night.

You could still feel the way the soft material of the dress felt against your sensitive skin, you could still remember how it had hung so luxuriously off your frame. It clung to you in all the right places giving you a flawless silhouette.

The dress was all that was present in your mind as you had listened to the monotonous droning of your mother when she had gotten home. You don’t know why she’d been particularly bitter on this occasion, perhaps one of her friends had been boasting about all that their children had achieved. That always seemed to set her off.

You’re throwing your life away.

I pay so much for you to get a good education and you don’t appreciate it at all.

Ungrateful brat.

Those words had so frequently left your mother’s lips that they didn’t even sting anymore. The knife had been so overused, causing the silver blade to become blunt and painless.

You thought back to the other night when you’d missed your curfew. She hadn’t cared that at least you were home safe after returning home late. In fact, the idea of your mother telling you off because she was worried about your safety seemed like a luxury to you.  But, of course, the only thing she paid mind to were your grades, what your chances of getting into a prestigious university were and whether you would do the family proud or bring them shame.

Then there was Jungkook and his friends. People that stood for the exact opposite of what you’d been taught since you were a child. They seemed so liberated compared to you, they knew what their dreams were and they fought to achieve them every day. The only dreams you had to speak of were the ones that had been pushed upon you.

But when you’d stood in front of that mirror with that flattering new haircut and that gorgeous dress wrapped around your body, you’d felt more yourself than ever. You’d felt powerful, beautiful, and most crucially, you’d felt so free.

That night, despite your mother’s obvious disappointment in you, you’d fallen asleep with a faint smile fixed upon your lips.

Working at The Continental isn’t at all what you thought it’d be.

SPOILER FREE FIC.

You smoothed out your shirt and looked in the mirror. It was your first day on the job. You were decked out head to toe in brand new clothes. All from a designer you’d never heard of. All custom made to fit you perfectly.  All completely free. On top of that, you’d be making a salary that, at entry level, was six figures. And all you had to do was deliver room service.

But there was a saying you’d heard since you were young: If it’s too good to be true, then it probably is.

You should have suspected something was off when you had to give a blood sample, a urine sample, a DNA swab, and answer a thirteen page questionnaire that included things like “list the full names of your parents, siblings, and grandparents” or “do you have any experience with sutures, cauterization, or CPR?”

And then the interview, itself, felt more like an interrogation. The whole thing gave you this weird feeling in your gut, but this was also the most exclusive hotel in New York City. Getting a room here wasn’t about whether or not you had the money, but whether or not you knew the right people, and even then, it was typically booked solid. You’d even heard a rumor that The Queen of England was denied a room once. Of course they’d be picky about their staff.

But after the lengthy interview process and dozen or so signatures on papers you probably should have read, you found out the truth about The Continental.

The manager’s name was Winston. He was nice enough, though he had a very “no nonsense” attitude about him. The more you found out about the place, though, the more you understood why. It was a safe haven for a secret society of people. Assassins. Hit men. Gang Lords. The underground elite of not only New York, but the entire world. The only currency accepted from customers were gold coins. One gold coin was the equivalent to one favor. It was a simple system, Winston explained, but complex to newcomers. You’d pick it up over time. All you needed to know was that if you got a coin, you kept a close eye on it.

Additionally, the hotel followed a strict set of rules, but the two that most concerned you were that staff was never to ask questions, and no business could ever be conducted on hotel grounds. The latter of the two should have made you feel safer, but instead, it just made you more nervous.

Upon the conclusion of your meeting with Winston, he presented you with a single gold coin. You looked at him curiously. He smiled, and said simply:

“A welcome gift.”

Damen is sitting on the edge of the white satin bedspread. His hands are laced together; the left thumb is on top. Laurent, leaning against the safe harbour of the closed bedroom door, experiences a small moment of displacement in time.

“Halvik is probably hugging herself right now thinking about your genetic material,” Laurent says. It’s the kind of thought that he’d usually keep on the other side of his brain-to-mouth filter, but he’s stopped caring what he says in front of Damen.

“What?”

“Nothing. Never mind.” Laurent taps the heel of one shoe, thoughtful, against the door. “I can fix this.”

Damen says, with a hint of anger, “If you’re thinking–”

No,” Laurent says. “I can’t–I’m not going to force them to stick around and pretend not to be in love. Any idiot could see that would backfire. No. I can work with this, but the problem is the story. We could…all right, I can frame it as head versus heart: Jokaste as the strategic choice, the smarter pick for someone in your professional position–”

“I don’t want to marry Jokaste,” Damen says.

Can you give me some advices/tutorials on how to make gifs? I suck at it and hell, I've been trying to gif for two days and I still can't :(

Of course! Let me just say when you start off making gifs it can be very difficult and confusing (I know it was for me). So I’m going to try and give you lots of tips and things that I’ve learned so hopefully you can skip lots of the hard parts I had to learn on my own. Also don’t get discouraged if you feel like your gifs aren’t turning out amazing, you’ve just started and it’s taken me over the course of 3 years to start making ones I’m actually happy with, as always practice gives you experience! Anyways enough of my rambling lets get started.

The alarm had not gone off, (no doubt caused by your late-night phone call with Taehyung in which you had fallen asleep to the sound of his voice before you could reset your alarm), leaving you with nothing but twenty minutes to rush through your morning routine and no time at all to spend five extra minutes in the shower quenching the heat and ache working its way through your system.

You had made it to work on time, thankfully, but your day had not improved. Instead of an eight-hour shift full of nothing but paperwork and a few phone calls, you had been forced to sit in on several meetings, all the while ignoring the way pleasure thrummed through you as you clenched your legs just a tad tighter. It was possible the ache between your legs was due to almost having to go a week without sex however, you knew it was mostly caused from the dream you’d been deeply invested in when the sun and the birds outside had pulled you back into consciousness; the dream had been rough hands sliding across your body, teeth and tongue scraping over sensitive skin, pulling small gasps and moans until you were nothing but a desperate mess beneath his touch.

OK BUT CAN YOU IMAGINE FOR AN ANGSTY SECOND....

David’s all running on empty cos he’s sleep deprived, pumped up on adrenaline and hallucinating like fuck, and he’s in Zelena’s old cell but he isn’t even sure how he got here from outside, all he knows is George is in front of him… and he just attacks.

He’s letting all his hurt and pain and frustration out, screaming at him, telling him he’ll never forgive him for what he’s done; what he’s put his family through.

And he’s not registering George’s words, begging him to calm down and think clearly… his pleas won’t save his skin now, there wasn’t even a sorry in his pathetic cries. He doesn’t deserve mercy. This vile man took his brother, his father… he doesn’t deserve to live.

So David delivers that vital blow.

He stabs him. He relishes as the man cries out. He lets the darkness that had been slowly creeping into him take over for that split second, enjoying the twisted agony on his face as he slips down the wall… gloating as he tries to grasp his coat with his hand and hook-

His hook?

David’s vision begins to clear.

Only it’s not George on the floor, in front of him.

It’s Killian.

And he’s bleeding out.

Shit. David begins to panic. He tries to stop the bleeding, crying out for someone to help. Ratchett shows up and reluctantly runs to get medics.

But David is scared. Klllian’s losing blood and fast. He’s barely holding on to consciousness. The medics finally arrive and get him on a gurney and wheel him out.

Flashes of Killian on a familiar looking gurney attack his brain and- this is all his fault.

He needs to call Emma.

ASK

When. When the hell was the last time you could breathe properly? When the hell was the last time you could sleep peacefully?

To be one-hundred percent, completely honest, not in a few months…? Probably since the last night he was there, holding you as you slept, peaceful, only for the morning to completely destroy it all. Then you found yourself alone.

Get up… Get up!” he screamed in your ear.

“Baby, it 6:15am… I’m going back to sleep…” You pulled the blanket over your head, which was suddenly pulled off and you were dragged out of the bed. “Okay, what the fucking hell, you asshole?”

“Get your shit, and get out,” he seethed.

“Babe, what’s going on?” You tried to sound calm, but it only made him angrier.

“I’m done, I’m done! It’s over, I’m free of you… Be gone!”

You don’t know why, but no tears came to your eyes. Maybe you were tired, maybe you were too confused, maybe this was all just a dream and you were just reacting to him falling in the shower… again. You walked over to your shard closet slowly, watching him, and packed the stuff that was yours, not the fancy gowns that he had bought you, and walked to the door of your apartment.

“Wh–” You were cut off by the door slamming in your face. And that’s how your friend found you, sobbing on the curb at 6:30am.

Y/N, you gotta get up, it’s been two months, and the few times you’ve ever been out of the house are to see your family, and if I drag you to the grocery store.

A wail came from the other side of the room. Y/F/N groaned and walked over the the little girl who emitted the noise. Yeah, your best friend married strait out of college and got pregnant not much after.

“Hi, Carolina,” she said to the tiny baby in her arms.

The door opened, and Y/F/N’s husband walked in. “Hi, love! Y/N, there’s a letter for you.” He handed you a rather large envelope. You opened it and pulled out a folder. You pulled out the first of many documents:

Dear Miss Y/N,

Please sign below regarding that you have been romantically associated with CEO, Luke Hemmings, of Hemming Corporations, for the past four years. Do not discard this document, this is a legal document regarding a romantic associated between two persons under law. Please sign below.

What the hell was this? You quickly signed the document, put it in the designated return envelope, and put it in your mailbox. You looked at your phone, then opened your text messages.

To: Luke Hemmings

What the fuck did I just get in the mail?

You texted him. Your phone buzzed after a few seconds.

From: Luke Hemmings

Just sign the damn document and fucking send it to me asap

You rolled your eyes and put your phone away, not planning on replying to your ex.

Buzz

From: Luke Hemmings

I know you read that

From: Luke Hemmings

Y/N call me when you’re not being a bitch

From: Luke Hemmings

Ok, I apologize, just call me as soon as you can

You quickly went to his contact and pressed his phone number, calling the bastard himself.

“Ba– Y/N,” he stated professionally.

“Luke, what do you want to tell me?”

“Come down to my office. Now.”

“Look, I don’t have time for your shit right now, I shouldn’t even be talking to you, nonetheless receiving legal documents about our shitty relationship. Just answer my fucking question, Hemmings. What the fuck is the document?” you demanded.

“Come to the–”

“No.”

“Y/N, please. You don’t ever have to talk to me again afterwards, just… please, come to my office.”

“Fine.” You groaned, almost inaudible, and hung up, grabbing your car keys and driving to the tall and shiny office building in the center of Y/T/N. You walked through the lobby, avoiding everyone’s eye contact that stopped and stared at you. You walked to the front desk, so that you could get access to Luke’s floor.

“Alice… May you please let me up?” you asked the girl sitting there.

“Y– Y/N! Yes! Of course!” She rushed from behind the desk, and walked to the elevator with you, scanning the card, and pressing the button for floor number 63. You strutted out of the elevator and to the largest room on the floor, positioned right through the lobby doors, to the left, another left, and straight ahead until you reached the door with a plaque on it that said:

LUKE HEMMINGS

C.E.O. HEMMINGS CORP.

You didn’t even knock. You walked right in to see your ex staring at his computer screen. You doubt he even knew you were in there. The office looked the same as you remembered. And that was the bad thing.

The way you remembered was when he had pictures of the trips you took together. And the shared favorite amongst the two of you was when he decided that for your third anniversary that he would throw you a surprise, and when you found out, you launched yourself onto him and kissed him. There were fireworks, literal fireworks, and the photographer captured it all. It sat right on his desk in the frame his niece made for him. It was a wooden frame with a silver line painted around the edge and a golden-dotted lining. It sat on the right side of his desk. Right where it was now. You hoped he hadn’t replaced it.

“Luke?” He looked up at you, surprised.

“I– I didn’t know you were coming…”

“I told you I was.”

“I must’ve not heard, or I would’ve cleaned up a bit.” He blushed.

“What the hell is going on?”

All of which resulted in you not being able to get home until it was already two on a Sunday morning. You pealed off your black pencil skirt, the red bottoms you’d bought with your first big check from the firm and your favorite pinstripped collared shirt, haphazardly throwing them into the corner of your bedroom. You were exhausted, having three major cases in one week that you needed to prepare for had your nerves out of wack. You had to win all of them because of the fact that you could be making partner only if all of them panned out in your favor.

Light snores coming from the bed remind you that Bucky had in fact returned from his mission overseas. Not wanting to disturb the super soldier, you quickly stripped yourself of your bra and panties and head into your bathroom. You take a quick shower wanting nothing more than to fall into your bed and go to sleep.

You all are so talented. This one is for the Modern Glasgow world. We've seen a few of Jamie's incidences from the books in this story and how Claire helped him through it. Could we see one of Claire's and how Jamie reacts and helps her?

Modern Glasgow AU

“And ye’re sure ye dinna need some extra help? There’s no shame in asking – the drought this year has made it hard for everyone.”

“I ken that – but I’ll manage.” Joe Fraser extended his work-roughened hand to grip Jamie’s. “And I thank ye for yer offer. But Rosie and me – weel, we always plan for this. The coos will have a bit of a lean year, but nobody will starve.”

Jamie nodded and opened the driver door of his battered Land Rover. “We’re settled at the Big House now – I’m just a phone call away.”

“Oh, that’s right! Ye and the missus and how many bairns, now? Three?”

“Five,” Jamie laughed. “Can ye believe it?”

Joe slid his hands into his pockets, shaking his head. “Mary, Michael, and Bride! Yer poor wife.”

“She had more of a say in it than I did, Joe. She kent weel what she was I for when she took up wi’ me. And she’s the head doctor at the clinic in Broch Mordha now – but I’m sure ye’ve heard already. Broken bones, cuts, you name it and she can fix it.” He slammed the door shut and turned on the ignition, leaning out through the open window to wave goodbye.

“I’ll be back in a week or so – and let me know how the animals are getting on, aye? We always plan for this as weel.”

Joe waved a final hearty goodbye and trudged back to his barn, the setting sun striking the dust brought up by his boots.

Jamie sighed, ran his hands through his hair, and reached for the glove box, fishing around for his phone. Thumbing it to life, he couldn’t help but smile at the lock screen – a selfie Fergus had taken of him and his four siblings. They all had massive grins on their faces, even ten-month-old Julia, proudly showing her five teeth.

It hadn’t been easy adjusting to life in the Scottish Highlands when living in their cramped Glasgow flat – or in Paris, in Fergus’ case – had been the only life his children had ever known. But he and Claire knew they had made the right decision – right for their family, and right for the two of them. Selling his stake in the printing business had netted quite the tidy sum, and she was more than willing to give up her high-pressure surgery job for a quieter pace at the rural clinic. That they both spent much more time with the children – watching them grow, guiding them, showing them how to live – made every single sacrifice worth it.

But now Jamie frowned – ten missed calls, just in the hour or so he’d spent with Joe.

Four from the Big House’s number. Two from Fergus. Two from Jenny. One each from Ian and Murtagh.

Christ.

He swallowed and quickly called Murtagh.

“Thank God,” his godfather’s voice crackled through the line. “Ye need to come home.”

Jamie’s heart stopped. “What is it? The bairns?”

“No, lad. No. They’re fine. It’s Claire.”

With shaking hands, Jamie activated the Range Rover’s BlueTooth and tore out of poor Joe’s driveway.

“Tell me everything!” he desperately shouted into the speakerphone, swerving around the potholes in the dirt road connecting Joe’s farm to the motorway.

“She got a call, around midday. An old woman having heart trouble – perhaps a stroke. She left the number here and drove out to make a house call.”

Jamie roared down the motorway, limbs shaking.

“When she didna come back an hour ago, we started calling her mobile. No answer. And then Jenny called the woman’s house – her son said she was fine, and that Claire had left two hours before that, and said she was coming straight home. So nobody has seen or heard from her for three hours.”

“We need to go find her!” Jamie screamed, passing two sedans full of tourists and simply not caring that he was at double the speed limit.

“Aye, lad. We do. Calm down. I’ve got Ian and Jenny and Suzette here, waiting for ye. We can each drive out and search. Fergus wants to go – ”

“No. Put him on the phone. Please. I’ll be there in five minutes.”

Muffled sounds – then Fergus’ surprisingly deep voice. Jamie blinked, remembering that his eldest son was now eighteen. A man grown.

“Papa?”

“Listen to me, Fergus. Do yer brother and sisters ken what’s going on?”

“No – they’ve been playing with their cousins. I want to help you search - ”

“No, Fergus. You must stay behind. They canna know what’s going on. Do you understand?”

“But –”

“Damn it, Fergus. You need to protect them. They need an adult to watch over them – to keep them safe. And that adult – that *man* - that’s you, *mon fils*.” Do ye understand me?”

Silence. Then – “Yes. I understand.”

“Good lad. I’m just turning off the road. Can ye ask them to meet me outside?”

Thirty seconds later, he pulled up to the main house and jumped out of the Land Rover, leaving the engine running. It was full dark now, but he recognized the silhouettes waiting in the driveway.

No time to feel, now. Just to think – and to act. And to find Claire.

Five agonizing minutes to plan – four separate cars, driven by Jamie, Ian, Jenny, and Murtagh. Suzette would ride with her husband and continue calling all the places where Claire could have gone – including Mrs. Crook in the main house, just in case Claire appeared at home.

Ian handed each driver their own walkie-talkie – the best way to communicate, given the patchy mobile service.

Then their caravan crunched down the gravel driveway and back to the main road, tracing Claire’s movements.

So many memories flashed in front of Jamie’s eyes – Claire burning dinner in their first apartment; Claire bravely introducing her family to her ex-fiancee, just a few months before; Claire’s ecstatic smile as she showed him William for the first time; Claire’s beautiful face, just this morning, as he gave her what they had come to call a Full English Breakfast…

If she was gone –

No.

For the bairns’ sake, he would push on. But not for his own.

So he prayed, fervently, in every language he knew. For God had brought them together – why would He dare to pull them apart?

Up and down the small country lanes, high beams bobbing in the pitch dark.

A light drizzle had started.

Was she cold? Was she shivering?

He kept dialing her mobile. Over and over. And every time it went straight to voicemail.

“You’ve reached Dr. Claire Fraser. I’m not available at the moment – ”

“You’ve reached Dr. Claire Fraser – ”

There was no life without her.

“You’ve reached – ”

And then he turned a corner – and she was there.

Face glowing with the soft light emanating from the boot of her Volvo, rummaging around for something.

It took everything Jamie had to not run off the road as he slammed on the brake and fell out of the car, running toward his wife like a man possessed.

“Jamie?”

Then he caught her up in a tremendous bear hug, and didn’t let her go.

“Are ye all right? For God’s sake, Claire, are ye all right?”

“No,” she gasped. “Jamie – you’re crushing me.”

So he did let go – and her face swam with his tears.

“Hush,” she whispered, framing his face with cold hands. “Hush. It’s all right now. I’ve just got two flat tires and no mobile service. I’m fine.”

“Are ye all right? Truly?”

“Yes,” she said softly, patiently. “I’m cold and I’m starving. You didn’t happen to bring any food, did you? I could murder some neeps and tatties right about now.”

He let out a strangled laugh, and kissed her long and hard.

“Ye gave me quite the fright,” he whispered against her temple. “I did think ye were maybe dead.”

“Why are you so dramatic?” she teased, digging her hands in the back pockets of his jeans. “You know I can fend for myself.”

“Aye, I do. But – ” he swallowed.

“Hush, love. I know.”

Ten seconds – he counted and cherished every one of her heartbeats.

“I need to be inside ye now, Claire. I – I need to feel whole.”

She kissed him gently. “Tonight. Let’s get home. I want you to take care of me. Can you do that?”

“Aye,” he pledged. “Aye, I can do that.”

She nodded. “Good. Now can you please tell whoever is on the walkie that I’m all right, and I need a tow? I just want to go home, and kiss the children, and then be one with you.”

He inhaled the curls at the top of her head – damp with the rain – and trotted back to the Land Rover. Murmured a few words into the walkie – and Claire couldn’t help but smile when four cheers crackled back.

“And don’t think I won’t scold ye when we get home,” Jamie admonished. “I’m just too happy to have ye here wi’ me to say anything else. But don’t think ye’re getting off easy for scaring me half to death.”

She sauntered over and wrapped her arms around his neck. “I look forward to it,” she whispered, grinding her hips against his.

He playfully smacked her bum, then wrapped her legs around his hips and hoisted her up against him, leaning against the Land Rover, devouring her mouth.

Not even the beeps and high beams and cheers of Ian, Jenny, Murtagh, and Suzette broke them apart.

“Shall we leave the two of ye out here alone, then?” Murtagh jibed – silently sagging with relief against Suzette.

Claire pulled away, grinning. “If I knew it took me disappearing for him to get all riled up like this – I’d do it more often!”

“No’ bloody likely,” Jamie growled, pulling his wife back for more.
