You are not alone. You are not alone. You are not alone.
Today is just one day. Just 24 hours of your life. Tomorrow doesn’t have to be a repeat of the bad. Tomorrow is another chance. 24 new hours to find your way.
Music doesn’t always heal but I believe it can always help, comfort, relate, understand, and at times be the friend you desperately need.
We all need each other. We all need a community, a family, a home, a safe place with people who love us, respect us, and allow us to be exactly who we are.
Life is a beautiful disaster. It is filled with more light than darkness. Do not let your wounds make you believe that all there is to your life is misery and brokenness. There is so much more!
You are much more than scars, than wounds, than mistakes, than sickness… You are so vital, so precious. There are not enough words to describe just how much of a beloved treasure you are.
The past does not have to determine your present. The past does not have to destroy your future. What you did, and what they did is over. You don’t have to be a prisoner of those memories or the people who gave you those scars. Scars mean you survived something that wounded you. Hold on to that, and live beyond your past.
Cry it out. Dance it out. Write it out. Just please don’t hold it all inside and let it tear your apart. Take those wounds, take that pain, and make something honest out of it. Let those tears pour out so love can fill you up. Let the music seep into your veins and feel alive as your heart races to the beat. Let the words speak for you when you don’t have the strength to use your voice.
Natalie. 21.LA, California. I’m a senior getting my bachelor’s in Graphic Design, I started a collective in LA for local musicians of all kinds and we help out with fundraising for animal shelters, homeless shelters, orphanages and so on and so forth. I’m also in a folk punk band. Music mean’s everything to me. of all genres (indie acoustic music has a special place in my heart though) Everyone assumes because I wear patches and boots and covered in tattoos I don’t like to do things like read books, or go to museums or venture into the wilderness and travel. I want to take in everything and anything from this world while I’m still here. intellectually stimulating conversations mean the world to me. let’s talk about life and death, religion, politics, dreams, and nightmares, and aspirations, and depressions, and the beautiful, and the ugly, let’s talk about changing the world, lets talk about self loathing, let’s talk about what scares you, let’s talk about what keeps you alive. let’s honestly genuinely talk. I’m sick of half ass small conversations that mean nothing and are vacant, both in person and online. http://nothingbutathiefandawhore.tumblr.com/
