Here is the commission alicexz did for me (along with the WIP)! I agreed to wait to post it because it was under review to be the cover of the Sherlock soundtrack LP! Guess what? They chose it!

Composed by David Arnold and Michael Price.

Appearing for the first time on vinyl is this selection of music from the soundtracks to the hugely popular BBC SHERLOCK series 1, 2 and 3.  The track listing represents the most popular themes from across the three series which brought composers David Arnold and Michael Price multiple awards and award nominations internationally.  The LP is pressed on 180g black vinyl and the cover features a specially commissioned painting of Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role by artist Alice X Zhang, which will also be included on a printed insert.

When they say “specially commissioned”– well– um– yeah. By me. Here is what I asked Alice to make me to accompany my first fic, The Memory Palace of John Hamish Watson:

I want to highlight the pyramid shaped terrarium in the bottom right corner and Sherlock’s steepled hands. I’d like purple overtones if you’d find that interesting enough. Kind of a companion piece to “Virtuoso.” It’s the pyramid that’s important to me.

Alas, the pyramid is chopped off on the cover– so it remains my special secret.
