Thanks so much to everyone who came out to Wonderland Tattoo for our grand opening party! We spend the day tattooing our asses off and donated all of our proceeds for the day to Outside In’s needle exchange program! This is a vital, lifesaving program designed to protect, educate, and even SAVE the lives of people struggling with addiction! The Outside In needle exchange program is one of the first and only programs in the nation to educate nonprofit members in the use of life-saving drugs in the event of overdose! Thanks again everyone who supports Wonderland, AND Portland nonprofits!
(tattoos by ALL OF US! landscape from Alice Kendall, cattoo by Kirsten Holliday, starfish by Sean Wright, teeth, hellebore, and fox skull by Alice Carrier, Filbert and Swift by Kirsten Holliday!)
This past Sunday, the Wonderland tattooers got together for an event we’ve been planning for awhile as an exercise in showcasing our individual styles. We thought it would be fun to show you how differently four artists would render the same image, and in that spirit, we chose one image of a rose to interpret as each of us saw fit. The recipients agreed to give us complete creative control over the tattoos to best showcase our design choices, and we’re excited to share them with you!
We hope this is a fun way for you all to experience the differences in our styles! We certainly enjoyed it as an artistic exercise and we hope you enjoy seeing the results.
In order from first to last: Alice Kendall (blue rose), Sean Wright (black and grey rose), Alice Carrier (purple rose), and Kirsten Holliday (red rose).
Alice’s client from this morning happened to be on her way to give a talk at Treefort Music and Film fest about her work with Laika films! She had a suitcase full of puppets from Paranorman and she lets us take a look at them! SO COOL!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks again, Georgina!
