Taking a break from writing to bring you this: As some of you may know, German highways for the most part don’t have a speed limit! We have a Richtgeschwindigkeit (so the speed you’re advised to not exceed) of 130km/h, which is 80 mph, but exceeding that is not actually illegal and it will only become a problem if you get involved in an accident!

I was seriously disappointed when I found out the same doesn’t seem to apply for American highways when I watched a movie, because the streets look like they’re perfect for driving fast ;_;
(Or is the speed limit not really taken seriously?)

Fun fact, when I looked up the wikipedia article to check whether I’d gotten the facts right, it was said there that introducing a speed limit hasn’t/wouldn’t work because we Germans consider that restricting our freedom.
