alexia is the queen

4 February: King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima and The Princess of Orange attended the wedding of Filippos Lemos and Marianna Goulandris. Princess Alexia and Princess Ariane were included as flower girls. The ceremony took place at the Orthodox Cathedral of St. Sophia near Hyde Park, west London.

”Together, we will restore our family name. Once that has been achieved, I’ll build a palace where only nobles may gather. I cannot allow the unwashed to see my dear Alexia, to whom my life is devoted to. She reigns the world as queen, with I as her servant.”

The Royal Houses (3/9): The House of Orange-Nassau

Country: The Netherlands
Current Head: His Majesty King Willem-Alexander
Founded: 1544
Parent House: House of Nassau

The house of Orange-Nassau dates back to the 16th century when it was founded by William the Silent, then governor of Holland. William was a member of the House of Nassau. When he took control of the principality of Orange he combined the titles to create the House of Orange-Nassau. After the fall of Napoleon’s empire, the Netherlands became a monarchy in 1815. William the Silent’s line had died out so William I, a descendent of William the Silent’s brother, took the throne and adopted the Orange-Nassau name. The Netherlands is still reigned over by William I’s line today; King Willem-Alexander is William’s great-great-great-great grandson. Additionally, Willem-Alexander is the current head of the German noble House of Amsberg through his father Claus. Unfortunately this title will not be inherited by the King’s daughter and heir Princess Catharina Amalia as the House of Amsberg can only be led by males. The Orange-Nassau title can be found in the names of many Dutch royals including Princess Mabel and the children of Prince Constantijn.

1. What scene made you start shipping your ship?

Well… I think the first time River was on screen I was like thefuckisthis… but then when she sacrificed herself BAM i was in!

2. What songs remind you of them?

Bloody hell, A thousand years of course!

3. Have they ever made you cry?

The fact she lives their love story in the wrong order kills me

but I cry everytime i hear her speech in the Christmas Special

4. Favorite scene? scenes?

When they fight together, and basically every scene when they fly the Tardis and she corrects him

5. Favorite Quote? Quotes?

1* I hate you. No, you don’t. (their I Love You)
2* Hello, sweetie.
3* I trust this man with my life. With everything.
4* Why am I handcuffed? Why would you even have handcuffs?
5* River Song, I could bloody kiss you! - Oh, well, maybe when you’re older.
6* Hi, honey. I’m home.
7* Are you married, River? / Are you asking? / Yes. / Yes. / No, hang on, did you think I was asking you to marry me or asking if you were married? / Yes. / No, but was that yes or [pauses] yes. / Yes.
8* Don’t worry, I’m quite the screamer. [climbs into the tunnel.] Now, there’s a spoiler for you!
9* She will be amazing.
10* Such a basic mistake, Madame Kovarian: take a child, raise her into the perfect psychopath, introduce her to the Doctor. Who else was I going to fall in love with?
11* When one’s in love with an ageless god who insists on the face of a twelve-year-old, one does one’s best to hide the damage.
12* When you love the Doctor, it’s like loving the stars themselves! You don’t expect a sunset to admire you back! And if I happen to find myself in danger, let me tell you, the Doctor is not stupid enough, or sentimental enough, and he is certainly not in love enough to find himself standing in it with me! - Hello, sweetie.
13* Happy ever after doesn’t mean forever. It just means time. A little time.
14* Twenty-four years.
15What do you think of the towers? / I love them. / Then why are you ignoring them? / They’re ignoring me. But, then, you can’t expect a monolith to love you back. / No, you can’t. They’ve been there for millions of years, through storms and floods and wars and… time. Nobody really understands where the music comes from. It’s probably something to do with the precise positions, the distance between both towers. Even the locals aren’t sure. All anyone will ever tell you is that when the wind stands fair and the night is perfect… when you least expect it… but always… when you need it the most… there is a song.
16* Not one living thing is worth you.

6. Favorite angst moment?

When she broke her wrist.

7. Favorite fluff moment?

The Towers of Darillium.

8. A scene that you wished happened?

I’m at peace, thanks. Oh no, wait, the honeymoon.

9. Do you think marriage is right for them?

Dude, she’s the Doctor’s wife. They’re so married I cry everytime they speak.

10. Share a headcanon?

A Chirstmas dinner with Amy and Rory.
