(Thanks, odayaka!)

1. What is the one song on your playlist you never skip?

Black Horse and Cherry Tree, KT Tunstall. It’s my karaoke standard, and I never pass up a chance to practice!

2. Freckles or dimples or both?

Do I have them or do I like them? Well, I love freckles on a guy! And I have a few on my face that show up when I go in the sun, and more on my arms, legs, and rest of me. :)

3. How many rings before you answer your phone?

As few as possible, if it’s someone I want to talk to! If it’s someone I want to ignore, I don’t touch it so that it automatically goes to VM. There is nothing worse than hearing a phone ring 4 times, then going to VM. You KNOW they saw it was you and hit ignore.

4. Favorite thing to do to unwind?

5. Sweet snacks or salty snacks?

Salty! Sunflower seeds and shelled peanuts are my biggest cravings

6. Favorite ship?

Fem!Shep/Kaidan from Mass Effect. They are the only ship I have ever written fic about, so I guess that puts them above all others.

7. Do you have any pets?

Yup! The dude and I have a cat named Poppet, and I have a dachshund (who lives with my parents now that I’ve moved out) named Sirus. He’s still my baby.

8. If I looked at your internet history, do you think I would be surprised?

Nope. It’s tumblr, tvtropes, the mass effect wiki, the fallout wiki, facebook and youtube. exactly what you would expect from me!

9. Comfort food?

Anything potato related. Dammit, it’s the most perfect food ever.

10. Are you a listener or a talker?

Listener when it comes to serious situations. When it comes to bizzaro stories and  bar talk, it takes a lot to shut me up.

11. What household chore do you hate the most?

Dishes. I hate reaching into sinks full of gross water.

1) If there was a movie made of your life, what song would play over the opening credits?

2) What fictional character do you relate to the most?

3) If you had one superpower, what would it be?

4) What’s the weirdest thing that has ever happened to you?

5) If you could have dinner with two famous people (dead or alive) who would they be?

6) If you could go to college for free, what would you study?

7) Favorite childhood memory?

8) What is your Ship of Ships?

9) What is your number one pet peeve?

10) What is your favorite book?

11) If there was a movie made of your life, what song would play over the end credits?

QUESTIONS ARE HARD AND NOW YOU WANT ME TO TAG PEOPLE?  FUCK. (leaving that comment cause it’s hilarious)

I never play operatoins on SWTOR. It always seemed like an endeavor just to make it work. I always worry my gear or my abilities are not up to par. I don't have any friends who play SWTOR either. Any suggestions? Find a clan? Check the board/forum?

Hopefully others will chime in with some tips, but from my (pretty considerable) amount of time playing SWTOR, here’s some tips to make things more helpful.

Yes, you’re going to want to find a guild.  If nothing else, being in a guild gives you an XP bonus.  However you can often find people there who can help answer your questions and give specific advice.  There are a lot of different types of guilds, from serious raiding guilds that won’t let people in except when they’re recruiting and even then you’ll probably have to be pretty experienced, to “newbie” guilds who let everyone in, and all other sorts in between.  Asking to join a “leveling” guild in general chat on the fleet is the easiest way to find a guild just for the XP bonus, but the helpfulness of people inside the guild can… waver.

You should always try and make sure your gear and your primary companion’s gear is fairly close to your level.  It’s going to be difficult as a new player to keep the gear for all your companions up to snuff, so I’d suggest picking one companion who’s skills compliment your character’s and trying to level with them most of the time, keeping their gear near on-par with your own.  For instance, if you’re a healer, pick a tank companion, if you’re a tank, pick a healer or DPS companion, etc.  If you keep yourself and your primary companion in green-level gear within 4 or so levels of you, you should be fine.  Whatever you can’t pick up via questing, look for on the GTN (auction house.)  If you can afford it, it might be worth having a moddable primary weapon and keeping the mods in it up to date with blue mods.

Speaking of the GTN, make sure you’re using it to sell off the stuff you come across in your adventures, and also the items you craft.  I wrote a guide to making credits via the GTN, and you might find that helpful. Even if you don’t want to craft seriously, you can make a lot of money just selling gathered objects and materials.  Make sure you’re taking the time to find out the current prices on what you list, and be smart but competitive with your pricing.

Another good way of making credits is just simply to do all the quests you can find, as the rewards can sometimes be pretty lucrative.

I’d also suggest visiting the official boards for your class and picking up tips for speccing and gearing up to make sure that you’re playing your class to the best of your abilities.  Also, make sure you’re gearing up your companion as best for him/her. Guildmates can also help with this, but getting a second opinion is often better.

Hope this helps!
