River Song's Timeline

So I was thinking, and I came to a conclusion that makes me want to cry.

If THORS took place after TATM, and they go to Darillium, but River doesn’t recognize Twelve, then there cannot be any more episodes as long as Peter Capaldi is The Doctor with River in them that take place before Darillium. In fact, considering there were 11 pictures of his first 11 faces there cannot ever be another episode with River and a doctor that is not one of the original 11 that takes place before THORS in her timeline. So if River Song ever comes back to the show it must take place either at Darillium, or after the library considering in TFOTD she says the last time she saw him was Darillium so nothing between. And if this wasn’t upsetting enough, if we think about the ending of TNOTD it could be inferred that her story with The Doctor really finished there. So I have come to the conclusion that if we are ever to see River Song on BBC’s Doctor Who again it will be because The Doctor goes to The Library to visit her (which is out of character), or somehow Moffat decides to, for the first time EVER, actually play nice and SOMEHOW by some MIRACLE River Song is brought back, out of the computer, into life to walk among the living again.

So excuse me while I cry, because my favorite character ever, the greatest female badass hero/femme fatale, the flawless queen of time and space, the epitome of what I aspire to be as a strong independent woman, may never return.

Once, when Kara was 16 and still struggling to grasp English and Earth’s culture, she gave herself a math problem. The kind that was actually challenging, unlike the worksheets she was given at school, unlike Alex’s college calculus and advanced physics. It involved the revolutions of two planets and digging through her memories for little details that had never seemed consequential to her, until they were all she had left to cling to from home.

With Alex off at college having successfully tested out of most of her first two years of school, Kara had lost her one true confidant. The only one who spoke her language as well as she. Kal-El, well, he tried but he’d learned it in a text book. His accent was horrible. Kara taught Alex, so her accent was flawless. But she was gone, off making new friends at college and forgetting her strange sister, the girl who fell to earth.

Now it was just Kara and Eliza rattling around with the wind in the big empty house by the beach.

So she does her math problem.  She counts the days on Earth and measures them against the days she recalls from Krypton. She figures out that time passes just a little differently on Earth than it did on Krypton; 1.2 seconds there is .86 seconds on Earth. She tells Alex about this finding, chattering happily in a garbled mess of English and Kryptonese over the phone while Alex responds in kind. She can hear others in the background, over the phone, wanting to know what the hell kind of language was that? It’s a bit like Chinese, a bit like Russian with a hint of the long, rounded vowels she’s heard watching Thai movies. Mostly it’s the tones. Human tongues can’t make three of them, and the curl-click-dip of the tongue with some tenses gives Alex fits, but Kara always knows what Alex is saying.

“So what are you doing, then?” Alex asks after Kara’s talked her though the entire problem.

“Figuring out when my birthday is.”
