alchemical symbols

With my new gauges, the 0g fit fine and the 2g were too tight to get past the double flare, so I finally committed to the ear adjustment necessary to get my new sigil plugs into my ears, and after a tender night sleeping with stretchers, I got them in place after taking a shower, and with a dab of the lovely plug potion that came with the earrings.

The 0g are the sun/gold and moon/silver symbols, and the 2g are the alchemical symbols for earth and air.

I admit I am slightly disappointed they don’t manufacture in 4g anymore (I inquired), as that would have let me wear the fire/water set as well.

My flatmate, probably someday in the future when I have a roommate: Why are you up at 4 AM? Did you get any sleep?

Me: I’m researching what alchemical symbols possibly went into Julian’s murder brand. Er, tattoo.

Flatmate: Wait … who? What? Did I hear you correctly?

Me: Well, I don’t know which part you heard. The alchemy, the brand, or the murder?

Flatmate: … I’m going back to bed.

Me: Oh? You can go to bread, instead. I just put some in the toaster. It’s unhealthy to research on an empty stomach. Have a piece.

Flatmate: … *shuffles into the kitchen*

Me: *meanwhile* So maybe … sulfur … steel? … Iron … copper? Mercury, quicklime? Vitriol and–to–spirit? What’s antimony? Regulus?! I don’t know how any of these materials react to one another …

Kitchen: *toast pops up*

The alchemical Serpent’s Cross, crowned and winged as in the anime, Fullmetal Alchemist.

I’ve had this thing since I was 11 or 12 or so. Somehow the symbol has always meant so much to me, I used to always wear it under my marching band uniform for good luck during my performance. Or sometimes I’d even carry it in a pocket.
A favorite piece of jewelry for sure.
