album stream of the week

(SUBMISSION) I’m Gabbie and I have never met Taylor! I have been a fan of Tay since 2006, I can remember sitting in my schools computer lab streaming her first album the week it came out. My first show was the Red Tour as my parents could never afford concert tickets but my junior year of high school I finally saved up enough to go. These pictures show me absolutely LOSING MY CHILL when Taylor came out and I saw her for the first time. It’s forever my dream to meet her!

Drake’s ‘Views’ Tracks Surpass 1 Billion U.S. Streams

On the most recent Billboard 200 albums chart (dated June 11) Drake’s Views held firm at No. 1 for a fourth straight week (the longest run at No. 1 for a man since 2012), earning another 189,000 equivalent album units in the week ending May 26, according to Nielsen Music. Elsewhere in the top 10, five new albums bowed in the region, led by Ariana Grande’sDangerous Woman at No. 2 and Blake Shelton’s If I’m Honest at No. 3.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the week’s most popular albums based on their overall consumption. That overall unit figure combines pure album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).

Let’s take a closer look at some of the action on the chart:

— Drake, Views – No. 1 – As previously noted, Views is a streaming powerhouse, and currently owns the four largest streaming weeks for an album. In total, the album’s tracks have now generated more than 1 billion on-demand audio streams in the U.S. — 1.07 billion to be more exact. (The latest tracking week pushed the album over the 1 billion mark, as it added more than 160 million streams to its total tally.) Comparably, other albums with more than a billion streams include Justin Bieber’s Purpose (1.38 billion on-demand audio streams for its tracks), The Weeknd’s Beauty Behind the Madness (1.31 billion) and Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late (1.06 billion).

While it is so exciting that sponsors are starting to send their gifts, and sponsees are starting to receive their gifts, please refrain from listening to your personal copy - this applies to physical or digital.

1500 single song streams counts as 1 album sale for the charts

So for at least the first week of release (November 13 through November 19), STREAM the album on Spotify whenever you are listening to it. And while you’re not listening, plug headphones in and play Temporary Fix on repeat (it’s the shortest song so you’ll get the most plays out of it).

Welcome to a new star. Former One Direction singer Zayn Malik – who has already had a Transatlantic Number 1 with “Pillowtalk” – now follows it with a debut solo album flying straight to the top. Mind Of Mine has landed straight in at Number 1 on the U.K. album chart, knocking Adele off the top spot.

Zayn, Mind Of Mine. RCA

While some critics wondered if Zayn could sustain success after the stress of his boy-band phase, the album has generated some critical acclaim and there are now suggestions he could do something Robbie Williams failed to achieve – make it big in America.

In Zayn’s home country, the album finished about 4,000 combined sales in front of Adele’s 25.

“It really is the beginning,” Zayn said in a statement. “It’s mind-blowing to me. My life at 23 could have been very different.”

Mind of Mine is the highest-streamed debut for a British Male since album streams were introduced to the chart. This week he is also three million streams ahead of Rihanna, the Weekend, Major Lazer and Coldplay worldwide, according to his label.

Zayn marked the release of his album with an intimate show in New York City last week as he performed his new tracks to an audience for the first time.

“Pillowtalk” (RCA) landed straight in at Number 1 on the UK Official Singles Chart in February as it became the fastest selling single of 2016. It became the 25th song to debut as a Billboard Hot 100 Number 1 in the U.S.: he also became the first U.K. art to debut at the top in the U.S. with a first single.

Taylor Swift's '1989' Spends 11th Week at No. 1 on Billboard 200 Chart

As forecast, Taylor Swift’s 1989 claims an 11th week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, tying Fearless as Swift’s longest-running No. 1 effort. (Fearless reigned atop the list in 2008 and 2009.)

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based onmulti-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). 1989 earned another 108,000 units in the week ending Feb. 8, according to Nielsen Music (up 7 percent).

1989, which released last year on Big Machine Records, has yet to leave the top two rungs of the weekly Billboard 200 since the album’s release 15 weeks ago.

Since 2000, only four albums have tallied at least 10 weeks at No. 1, and two of them are by Swift: 1989, Fearless, the Frozen soundtrack (13 weeks in 2014) and Adele’s 21 (24 weeks in 2011 and 2012).
As previously reported, Swift and Whitney Houston are the only two women in chart history to earn multiple albums with 10 weeks at No. 1.

So you streamed the album non stop for first week sales

But our job isn’t done there guys!! Yes, finishing in the top two on billboard will definitely boost PTX being on the radio, but they need more than that.
They said they wanted at least one or two radio hits and its our next goal to help them achieve that. So Shazam the album, request your fave song off the album at your local radio station! Tell your friends who have the album to do the same! We need to push the same way we pushed for Can’t Sleep Love to be on the airwaves. Maybe we as a tumblr group can collectively decide on a song to push? (Idk just a thought, doesn’t have to happen)

Turnover is streaming their new album Peripheral Vision this week and if you haven’t listened to it yet, you’re doing everything wrong. Magnolia was an incredibly well done exploration into a darker sound and now Turnover has taken that sound and refined it into something even better with absolutely stunning melodies and lyrics. This record is guaranteed to be very high in my top 10 for this year.
