“Look, do you see that look on his face? He’s waiting for you,” Camille said, starting to grow aggravated with an ever-stubborn James, “Do you see how sad he looks? You’re his best friend, you cannot just blow him off. Now get your ass out there before I hurt you.”
James warily makes his way towards the table where Carlos is sitting, trying his hardest not to lose his cool. He didn’t know what it was about the raven haired boy that made him so nervous, but in a way, he kind of liked it. It made him feel… human. Reminded him that the world didn’t revolve around himself, that other people mattered too. Carlos more so than anyone else, he was beginning to realize.
“Hey buddy,” he said with a nervous smile, his heart racing, “Want some company?”
Carlos looked up at him quickly before staring down at his hands and smiling, “I was starting to think you weren’t going to show up.”
