The extendable arms of the titular character in Ristar are supported through the design of the enemies and level mechanics through the game. By building in such a unique form of movement, where Ristar can grab and pull himself towards almost any object of significant width, the game can create highly unusual situations through levels.
The “good” and “bad” futures available in each level of Sonic the Hedgehog CD is meant to encourage replay, by providing an optional goal that encourages exploration and more effectively traversing each zone (all with each variant containing different platforms and enemy placement). In addition, by making the boss area of each zone reflect whether the future is “good” or “bad,” it provides a clear indication to the player on how they did overall for that Act.
I hope in the next arc, we’ll see Touka, Akira, Hinami, all our main girls we know and love take center stage again.
Especially now that super ultima tragedy arc is over and ESPECIALLY now that Kaneki is reunited with them.
I hope Ishida takes full advantage of the Star phase of the Fool’s Journey to explore our ladies post-timeskip more. To develop them again. Heck, maybe even give us some flashbacks on what things were like in the interlude before :re began.
Show me how Touka started :re and strengthened herself in mind and body.
Show me how Akira grappled with being the mother figure to the half-ghoul responsible for Amon’s apparent death and then how she dealt with him becoming self-destructive.
Show me how Hinami dealt with becoming part of Aogiri, how she went from frightened little girl to powerful executive and the inevitable internal struggle that she had to have faced getting there and being there.
Show me what Kimi’s been doing all this time.
Show me how Saiko’s been dealing with life without Maman, because there’s no way Kaneki leaving did not affect her.
Heck, show us more of Gori and Aura. I’m sure we’d all love to see more of them and their perspective on things.
Ishida-sensei, please let us see them again and restore faith in your handling of these wonderful women. I know you can do it.
