Te miraba. Me dolía. Sentía los gritos dentro de mi. Me rompía a trozos. Pero no podía llorar. Nadie podia verme asi. Los gritos seguian. Noté como me ardían las mejillas. Cerré los ojos. Respire ondo. “Ya no duele”. Suspire. Me mirabas. Te mire. Ya no duele. Te seguí mirando. Ya no duele. Nuestras miradas seguían conectadas. Ya no duele. La expresión de tu rostro. Ya no duele. Apartarste la mirada. Ya no duele. Mi mirada quedo colgada en el aire. Ya no duele.

Duele. Y nunca dejó de hacerlo.

Cada uno se engaña con la mentira que más le gusta pero en algún momento deberá bajarse de esa nube.

Southwest Asia (Mar. 21, 2003) – A U.S. Marine Crops F/A-18 Hornet assigned to the “Red Devils” of Marine Fighter Attack Squadron Two Three Two (VMFA-232) continues on its mission after taking fuel from an Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker in the skies near Iraq while conducting a mission in Support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The Hornet is primarily used as a fighter escort and fleet air defense. However, it can also be used as an attack aircraft with the capability of force projection, interdiction, as well as both close and deep air support. This duel capability gives commanders immense flexibility in wartime operations. Operation Iraqi Freedom is the multi-national coalition effort to liberate the Iraqi people, eliminate Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction, and end the regime of Saddam Hussein. Teaser for OCN’s upcoming drama Duel, which airs June 3rd.

Odd question: in the post-Origins continuity, where/when did Gideon get his sural? He doesn't have it on his Origins Theros cards, it's not mentioned in his origin story, and it does appear on Gideon's Phalanx (which depicts the time he spent on Bant after his first planeswalk). Given surals aren't a Bantian weapon, it appears to have just appeared out of thin air...?

Magic Duels’ loading screens seem to confirm that Hixus’ mentor was still a Planeswalker post-Origins. Which likely means the explanation for the Sural from TPF is still true as well, it was passed down to Gideon from Hixus. So like Chandra, it appears that his stated origin in TPF was just him not telling the real truth rather than a retcon.

Since it appears on his Bant card, we can surmise he returned to Theros and Hixus at some point while doing whatever he did on Bant.

But of course, this is just supposition.

can we confer, miss burr

because somebody ( @plinys) kept dragging me to the angst pile so I thought some bad fluff was due.

Theodosia and Philip form a quiet friendship after she finds him a wreck during the Reynold’s Pamphlet situation, so of course he goes to her when he ends up challenging someone to duel. (also here on ao3)

The knock at her window came at what must have been close to three in the morning, rousing Theodosia from her sleep and she walked towards it after lighting the candle on her bed.

“Philip?” She asked, opening the window and taking a step back for him to climb through.

It’s a good thing she moved her bedroom to the first floor of the house after a near accident on the stairs in which she truly was emulating her father’s bad luck.

He climbed through, sinking to the ground beneath the window sill and looking up at her, “I’ve made a mistake.”
