11 HECTOR !!

11. What do they think of creation? Do they believe in evolution or do they believe in God? What is their religion like?

He wants to believe in a God but he needs proof. But he would tell people he’s agnostic.

When you have the opportunity to do good to others that need it…be willing to do good…and do good without any secret hope that an unverifiable entity is noticing your good actions…and might reward you in an unproven and extremely unlikely here-after…!

Neither imagine that you are “paying it forward”…or, investing in “good karma”…or other forms of wishful thinking…

Just do good because you are able…and it’s needed…!

In other words…grow in maturity…empathy…personal responsibility…and compassion…!

“Many people, especially ignorant people, want to punish you for speaking the truth, for being correct, for being you.

Never apologize for being correct, or for being years ahead of your time.

If you’re right and you know it, speak your mind. Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is still the truth.”

D is coming home tomorrow from a family trip to Ireland and he’d asked me if there was anything in particular I wanted, and I asked if they were going to Kildare to St. Brigid’s Cathedral and he checked their route and said it was too far north

but oh my word yesterday he talked his parents in to adjusting their route so he could go and take pictures for me and get me something there?! and he literally only knows that Kildare exists because I’ve recently been more comfortable telling him about Brighid. and I am absolutely beside myself (also I’m really excited and relieved for him to come home this has been A Week)

How can you call yourself a Catholic and support abortion? EVERYTHING the Catholic Church teaches is extremely against abortion. I'm sorry, but you're not a true Catholic if you think murdering innocent children is okay just because women don't want to be inconvenienced.

I don’t feel someone who cannot even show their name when chastising me has any influence on my beliefs.

You do not have that right.

if you think pregnancy is as simple as an inconvenience, you’re a fucking moron. but then if you think an 8 week embryo is a person, you’re clearly a fucking moron anyway.

Hey Kiwi, if this isn't too personal, what are your views on religion and what do you believe?

I guess I’m agnostic

wolfy-nixus asked:

You're pro-life? huh. Well, I don't agree, and that's okay. My only issue with people who say they are pro-life is that they try to actively convince people to NOT go through with a decision. I'm an atheist agnostic, I do not tell religious people to fuck off with their god. Not to imply that you do! Of course not! Hell I don't think I knew you were pro-life till just this second. I just want you to know not everyone's an asshole, and no matter your view you are entitled to it. <3

Of course not everyone is an asshole, but those who are I’m glad to see go away. I just don’t think that killing a child should be a human right. Abortion is legal where I live, and I’ve seen what it does to society, I know it brings nothing good.

Kids are amazing. Kids are the perfect way to improve ourselves, to make things better, to build a better world. To think that by making it legal to kill them we’re heading towards progress is immense blindness and a sure way to damage ourselves beyond repair.

I suppose that what angers me the most is that this is regarded as a ‘choice’ when in reality many of the women who get an abortion do it because they think it’s their only option. That is, if actually given other choices they wouldn’t decide to get rid of their children.

For example: 67.9% of the women who have an abortion in my city are Catholic. 47.3% of the women who have an abortion in my city are between 18 and 24 years old. It can be safely assumed that several of the women who get an abortion here are both Catholic and between 18 and 24 years old.

The average age of marriage for women here is 29.8 years, so at 18, 19, 20, very few girls in this city are married. So we’d be talking about unmarried Catholic girls. You know how Catholics (and religions in general) are about sex before marriage, so a Catholic girl who finds herself unwed and pregnant will be terrified of getting kicked out of her house, forced to marry a boyfriend she’s not sure of, or being sent away in shame. So she has an abortion. Was that really a freely taken decision?

Say she knew her family would be understanding, or she knew of the many places around the city where she can go seek medical, legal, and psychological support if her family fails her. If she was actually offered all these options, would she still want to get rid of the child?

Or say it’s a woman who graduated from college and has the chance to take a good job. But she’s pregnant. She decides on an abortion because maternity leaves are absurdly short here, because work schedules and nursery schedules are hardly ever the same, because some places still fire women for being pregnant or having small children. Was that really a freely taken decision? Will killing the baby solve anything, or is the problem actually our legal system and the poorly enforced laws that barely cover maternity?

This woman is being told that she can’t be both a professional and a mother, when nothing could be further from the truth. She’s being told she cannot have both things, that a career and a child are incompatible, which is in fact quite stupid. So she’s coerced into doing something she might not have considered if laws and bosses actually made sense.

To justify abortion people cite many problems: poverty, violence, misogyny, lack of education, but killing a child before even giving it the chance of being born won’t help solve any of them. We need better education programs, better laws, more social awareness, to make people follow what few good laws we have, better strategies to create jobs, more funds for hospitals and shelters, to promote and help the culture of adoption. That’s what will help solve the problems, not getting rid of babies.

Does Devin and yourself have the same religious views?

Hahaha no. He would classify himself as agnostic with a touch of atheism while I would fall under the Christian set of beliefs, for a lack of a better way to put it. I believe in God and I believe in living by the Ten Commandments and spreading love and happiness into the world and doing no harm to others. But I don’t believe in going to church or that swearing is bad or that gay marriage is wrong or walking around with a stick up your ass all the time, telling others what they’re doing wrong. Worry about ya damn self.

Haha I have a lot to say on this subject and could go on for a lot longer but basically, the Christian education system is a joke and that’s our common ground 😂
