against liverpool

Some of the most memorable T-shirt messages during football celebrations

1. Ian Wright - After scoring a goal for the Gunners against Bolton in 1997, Wright lifted his shirt to reveal another, made by Nike, stating: ‘179 – Just Done It,’ despite only equalling the record tally. However, he ended up scoring a hat-trick and breaking the record later that day.
2. Robbie Fowler -
during a European Cup Winners’ Cup win against Brann in March 1997 Fowler unveiled a T-shirt with a fake Calvin Klein logo that read: ‘Support the 500 Sacked Dockers’ to show solidarity with striking dockworkers in the city.
3. Thierry Henry -
In 2000, no Arsenal player had scored against Liverpool for almost 3 years, but, right at the death of the match, Henry made sure of the victory by scoring and went on to reveal the message “Bang goes the 0-0 draw”, pointing out the fact they had finally scored against Liverpool.
4. Kaká -
the Brazilian fell to his knees revealing a T-shirt that said “I belong to Jesus” after winning the Champions League final against Liverpool in Athens May 23, 2007.
5. Lionel Messi - In Barcelona’s now famous 6-2 win over Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu in 2009, he revealed a shirt reading ‘Sindrome X Fragil’, the name of a medical condition that leads to emotional, mental and physical problems for its sufferers. Messi later explained that he had spent a day with children suffering from the syndrome prior to the game and in the biggest fixture in club football across the world, he was able to give a relatively unknown issues a huge amount of coverage.
6. Andrés Iniesta - Likely to go down in the annuls of history as the most poignant celebration of any World Cup final goal, the Barcelona man celebrated his winning strike against the Dutch in the South Africa 2010 showpiece by lifting his shirt to reveal a vest with the message ‘Dani Jarque: Always with us’, in memory of the Espanyol defender who tragically died of a heart attack in 2009.
7. Mubarak Wakaso - after scoring a 38th-minute penalty and giving Ghana a 1-0 win over Mali at the African Cup of Nations in 2013, Wakaso revealed a shirt that read “Allah is great.
8. Mario Balotelli - In 2011, quite clearly aggrieved with the often undeserved negative attention that came his way from the media, after an exquisite finish, the young Italian stood defiantly in the face of those that had criticised him in the lead up to the derby at Old Trafford, wearing a T-shirt that said ‘Why always me?
9. Éric Abidal - In 2013, after a year out following liver surgery, Abidal celebrated his return to football by wearing a tribute to his cousin who provided part of his liver for the procedure. ‘It was a very special moment for me after a year out. I want to thank my cousin as without him I would not be here today,’ said Abidal wearing a shirt with ‘Merci mon cousin’ on the front.

Baby’s First MatchHector Bellerín

“Guess who we’re gonna see today?”Y/n cooed as she stared down at her beautiful son, currently on the changing table in his nursery.

Six month old Mateo Bellerin responded to his mother’s question the best way he knew how– with spit bubbles and incoherent gibberish. Y/n giggled because by the way he was going on, he seemed to think he was really giving her an answer. Hearing his mother’s laughter it didn’t take long for Mateo to follow suit.

Laughing and clapping his hands, his loud joyous squeals filled the room. The sound was music to Y/n’s ears. Her son was such a easygoing baby. Even when he was being fussy pulling a smile from six month old wasn’t a hard task–so much like his father. The thought of him only made Y/n’s smile grow as her heart fluttered.

Hector always had that effect on her since they met three years prior and he had swept her off her feet in every sense of the word. They fell so fast and hard for one another and when they found out Y/n was pregnant with Mateo, Hector was over the moon with excitement.

He was happy to be starting a family with the woman  he loved and even happier to find out they were having a son. He never once treated her in a way that wasn’t loving. Y/n could only hope that her son would continue to take after his father’s happy and loving nature as he continues to grow. Speaking of him, the person they were going to see someone was Hector himself.

Arsenal had a match against Liverpool today and Y/n was taking their son to see it. It would be the first time little Mateo would see  his daddy play. Y/n didn’t even told Hector they were coming, opting to surprise him.

“We’re gonna see daddy, Teo,” Y/n smiled as she secured his diaper. As if he understood,Mateo fell into loud and physical glee.

“Da!Da!” He chanted happily as he kicked his legs out and wildly moved his arms. She laughed,“I see you’re excited. But what about mommy? Can you say ma-ma?”

Y/n knew realistically it wasn’t going to happen; Mateo was still very young, and his ability to form word would come sound enough. She couldn’t deny feeling a bit jealous. After all she spent the most time with their son–not that she faulted Hector for not being around at times–taking care of him nurturing him. But the moment Hector stepped into the room “Da-Da” filled the home the family of three shared.

But she didn’t take it to heart too much, in two months time he would be able to say mama as well. She’d just have to wait a little long but the happiness would be well worth it.

“Mmm-ma"Mateo interrupted her train of thought. Y/n’s heart swelled; she knew it was more then likely gibberish that he probably wouldn’t repeat later but she’ll take it .

“Okay, baby boy lets finishing getting you dressed.“She grinned before putting him in his Arsenal onesie, matching socks and puma booties,“look at you looking just like daddy!“Y/n cooed before scooping Mateo up into her arms. She walked her over to his crib placing him inside before grabbing the jersey and jeans she had brought along with her into the nursery.

She had already showered and got her hygiene necessities out of the way before tending to Mateo. All she had do was get dressed, so while her son entertained himself with the stuffed animals in his crib, Y/n got herself ready.  When she finished she made sure she had her own necessities–her phone, and keys mainly–before grabbing Mateo’s Peter Rabbit diaper bag. She already had everything he would need inside.

She just barely slung the bag over her shoulder when Mateo started yelling happily as loud as he could. Y/n smiled as she scooped him up and kissing his cheek.

“Time to see daddy play. ”

“Da! Da!”

Mateo had been repeatedly chanting the moment Hector walked on the pitch.  Earning the precious boy endearing glances from onlookers. He was so excited to see his father, nothing could still Mateo as he happily claps and bouncing in Y/n’s lap. He may not remember this when he got older but Y/n knew she and Hector would treasure it.

Speaking of Hector, the look on his face when he caught her eye was priceless. He looked  shocked but his eyes immediately lit up and the smile that took over his lips made Y/n smile. ’Surprise’ she mouthed before making Mateo stand on her lap and helping him wave at his dad. Hector winked and blew them a kiss before getting back into match mindset. Y/n had to giggle at that, she couldn’t wait for the match to start.

“DA!!!” Mateo suddenly screamed again 38 minutes into the match. Y/n, who had been momentarily distracted by her phone, immediately snapped her head up. She was just in time to see Hector  gain  possession of the ball. Some how Mateo knew his dad was doing something right because he was going crazy in her arms. Y/n and  the rest of the crowd soon joined when Hector attempted and successfully scored a goal, breaking the  scoreless deadlock.

“You see that Teo? Daddy made a goal!“Y/n grinned, as she stood up to cheer for the love her life, with their son securely in her arms. She laughed as Mateo screamed happily as he drooled over his Arsenal’s top dribbler bib.

Hector was immediately embraced by his teammates in  a celebratory hug but barely paid them any mind. Pulling away from them,  he locking eyes with Y/n and smiled as he made a heart with his hands. Y/n blushed as the cheers converted to a mixture of applause  and ‘awws’. The aww’s only increased when Hector stuck his thumb in his mouth, dedicating the goal to Mateo as well.

"See that Teo? Daddy dedicated his goal to us, say thank you daddy!"Y/n cooed as she gently bounced him in her arms. Mateo continued to squeal gibberish and drool in response much to his mother’s amusement. When the match ended, Arsenal won beating Liverpool 4-1 much to every gooners delight. It was always great to have results like these especially at home games.

Y/n made her way down onto the pitch, congratulating Hector’s teammates once she got there. She gave hugs and kisses on the cheek and Mateo gleeful gave high fives until they got  to where Hector stood goofing off with Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck and David Ospina.

"Congrats guys."she smiled brightly at the happy teammates before looking at Mateo,"can you say congratulations daddy?”

“ Da!!” Was Mateo’s loud response. They all fell into laughter as Y/n shook her head; close enough.

“Thank you mi angel,” Hector cooed as he tenderly kissed Mateo’s cheek. Y/n smile ;that had been his nickname for him since he was born–his angel. As much as he loved his mommy, Mateo was a daddy’s boy through and through.Y/n already knew they were going to be a handful when Mateo started walking.

Hector smiled down at her, as if he knew what she was thinking. Y/n smiled back as he leaned down and placing a kiss on her lips, “thank you."He didnt have to elaborate because Y/n understood.

"You dont have to thank me. I would hug you but the way your sweaty body is set up…"she teased causing his teammates to laugh at his expense. But Hector being the good sport he was, took it in stride.

"Thats okay, you can make it up to me later."he winked. Y/n laughed as she gave him a shove,"shut up, and go take a shower stinky.”

Once Hector, had showered and changed, he met Y/n  outside the locker room. Mateo noticed him first. He squirmed in his mother’s arms while reaching for father. “Okay, okay go to you dad,"Y/n giggled as handed their son off to his ‘Da’.She smiled as he cuddled into Hector’s chest.

Y/n couldn’t help but become their personal paparazzi as she whipped out her phone and proceeded to take numerous photos. Hector groaned but didnt hesitate to pose and position Mateo in a way that Y/n could get good angles of both father and son.

She picked the cutest one–Mateo hand moved his hands to Hector’s cheeks squeezing them together until his lips pucker out like a fish, kissing his lips in an adorable moment–and uploaded it to Instagram.

y/username Mateo congratulating his daddy on a good game. Proud of you @hectorbellerin!!! #fatherandson #papiyhijo #familia #lovesofmylife 👪👏😍😘😘

"Okay I’m done,"Y/n said cheerfully.
"Yeah for now."Hector retorted, laughing when she frowned at him.

"you drove?” He asked, changing the subject. Y/n shook her head no, she had caught a cab to the stadium so they could  come back together and she told him just that. Hector smiled giving her a quick kiss before leading her to his car he helped Y/n get  now sleeping Mateo into his car seat. Once their son was buckled in securely, Hector helped Y/n into the passenger’s seat.

“And they said chivalry was dead.” Y/n teased,
“They obviously haven’t  met my man.”

“Well, you know I try,"Hector chuckled as he brushed off his shoulders and flexed. "Oh my God,If you dont get in this car and take us home,"Y/n laughed; he was such a goofball. Hector saulted her before doing as she said.

Y/n shook her head, how he had so much energy after  playing in a 90 minute game she didnt know. Once he got in the car, he started it but instead of driving he took her hand in his.

"I’m so happy you came today."he said seriously,"I’m always better when you’re there to cheer me on.”

“You’re amazing regardless."Y/n countered, not wanting him brushing off the hard work he put in everyday.

"Yeah but you make me 100 times better,"He insisted,"I mean how could I lose with my good luck charm cheering for me? Knowing you and now Teo are in the stands…it makes me go even harder, so thank you.”

Y/n couldnt stop the tears filling her eyes if she tried. Hector sucked for doing this to her. He knew she was a sucker for cutesy moments like this,“You just wanted me to cry, huh?”

Hector laughed and shook his head,“no…..well, maybe a little."he admitted before pulling her into him for a kiss,"let’s get our sleepyhead home.”

Y/n looked back at Mateo, who was still soundly asleep then she looked at Hector, the man she loved and loved her just as much. She couldn’t have imagined a better life if she tried.

“Let’s go home.”

a/n: so that was the first of the multiple ‘football kids at their dads games’ I’ve written. Maybe i’ll post the other versions eventually. Oh and technically babies can’t really say real words at six months(thats usually at 8-9 months) but this is fiction, so whatever lol

Cheering Up Calum (Calum Chambers O.S.)

That’s what friends do, cheer each other up when they’re down. Mari tells herself she’ll do it for anyone. Because they’re just friends. Buddies. Mates. Bros. Uh-huh.

For maribaybe, thank you for being there practically from the start. You’re the only one I’ll willingly share Calum with. Kidding! (Not kidding)

A long, deep sigh came from Calum, the latest in a series of unhappy noises he was wont to make of late. He’s been really hard on himself ever since that game against Liverpool, even though in Mari’s opinion, he should give himself a little slack. After all, it was his first start in five months, and with a partner he can’t exactly communicate fluently here.

“I’m not going to be great company today, Mari. You should go out with Alex and the others so you don’t waste your weekend,” he said.

“I’m not wasting my weekend,” she assured him.

Full Q&A with Damon on Reddit tonight

Q: In 2010 you released Plastic Beach - which was fantastic too - but what happened to all the outtakes/tracks that weren’t on the album? Electric Shock, Sloped Tropics, Leviathan, the song with the Horrors on it, the Una Stubbs song. Were they just not good enough or do you think they’ll be released or made available in some way one day?

DA: Electric Shock has been on a Fact Magazine mix tape but only as I left it in 2010 … the other ones i haven’t listened to since then and there was never a track with Una Stubbs. I would have to review them to find out if they’re any good still…

Q: My question is about BONNAROO this year: Any special plans for the set? Do you plan to play material from your entire canon (Blur, Gorillaz, solo)? Hopefully lots of new stuff! A ton of your former collaborators will be there, so some on-stage guests would be awesome!

DA: i enjoy playing in the south and i’ve never played in tennessee, i think …

Jealous Calum

“Where are we going?” you asked Calum, your boyfriend of almost one year, after what it felt like hours driving.

“I’m not going to tell you, but I can tell you that we’re almost there!!” Calum responded really excited, just like a puppy.

“Calum… what are we doing outside Anfield Stadium?? OMG are you serious?… Are we…” “Yes!!! We are going to watch..”

“We are going to watch Borussia Dortmund play against Liverpool!!!!” you said really excited “But you know that Liverpool it’s going to lose right?..” you continued while getting out of the car and taking Calum’s hand in yours.

“Yeah… We’ll see..! But now let’s go”

“Oh come on” Calum whined.

“I told you!!”

“Well I have to say, Borussia deserved to win”

"Oh come on we destroyed them, you lost by 4-1"

“So… I was thinking…” Calum said on he way out.

"Do you want to meet the players??” Calum said still walking

“Are you serious!! Of course!!” you said jumping around like a kid.

The two of you met the Liverpool players first, took some pictures and talked about the game.

“Calum, can we go now?? I really want to meet Borussia’s players!!” you begged.

“Of course babe, let’s go” Calum agreed, while grabbing your hand. You made your way to Borussia’s locker room and made the same thing you did before, but then you saw Marco Reus, your favorite football player of all times, and let’s say that he’s really good looking. The two of you talked for about half an hour.

“Calum, I just met Marco Reus… The Marco Reus” you said really excited.

“Oh good for you…” Calum said in a sarcastic tone.

“What happened ??” you said stopping in front of Calum with a confused look on your face.

“Oh nothing, just… ‘oh my god I love watching you play, you’re great’ ” Calum said trying to imitate your voice.

“OH.. that, are you really jealous of him?!” you giggled.

“I’m not jealous”

“Yes you are darling"

"Well maybe… but just a little"

"He’s just my celebrity crush"

"So I don’t need to worry?”

“Of course not!!” you kissed Calum softly on the lips.

“Oh ok sorry..” Calum looked down.

“Baby, it’s ok…” you said kissing Calum again, but this time passionately.

“I think we should go…” Calum said breaking the kiss smiling.

“Yeah… Let’s go. 'Cause after all Borussia won and I think we should go and celebrate… If you know what i mean..” you winked.

“Oh.. I like that idea..” Calum grabbed you by your waist and kissed you “I love you”.

“I love you too… now let’s go!!”

If you want to request something, just ask!!!

We hope you like it!!!!

~ meeting the parents ~ preference ~

You knocked on the door to a house that was all too familiar. It was the door you came in through after the first day of school, and the door you left on the day you moved in with Dan.

It was your childhood home.

You parents have lived there for almost 30 years, and you lived in it for 25 of them. You were finally getting the chance to revisit them but this time, bringing Dan along. They haven’t met Dan formally yet, but they’ve seen photos of you and Dan together. This is their first time meeting in person.

Dan looked nervous. He was taking deep breaths and was being jittery. He wouldn’t stop bouncing around.

“Dan, it’ll be fine. Mum said you looked like a nice guy when I last talked to her on the phone.” You reassure him.

“I’ve never been this nervous meeting someone before. I guess it’s just because it has gone terribly for me before a long time ago.” Dan looked towards the ground.

“Like you just said, it was a long time ago. We can’t do anything about that so let’s focus on the present. My parents will like you, trust me.”

The door finally opened after the second time you knocked. Opposite you was somebody who was all to familiar.

“Oh (Y/N), welcome home. And this must be Dan, it’s good to finally meet you.” Your mum shook his hand as Dan returned the gesture.

“It’s good to finally meet you too Mrs. (Y/L/N).” He said politely.

You and Dan had supper with both of your parents. Your father thought he was a nice guy, but you heard him mumble something about him not liking sports and exercise, which you ignored. You mother called him a handsome young man, and that you were lucky to have him. That made you blush which Dan caught. He smiled as you ate the last of the delicious meal.

“(Y/N), Phil, it’s good to see the two of you again. Come in.” Your mother said as she opened the door to your childhood home.

You looked around the house you grew up in. Ahead was the living room, the place you had a sleepover with your friends in. To your right was a kitchen, where you tried to make a cake but ended up setting the fire alarm off. And to the left was a staircase which you fell down a few years earlier, trying to get to the bus stop on time. So many memories were made in this house, but of course, you one day had to leave it.

Today, you came back as you were in the neighborhood. You were just planning on staying for a few minutes until you had to take off again. You walked to the living room to find your dad watching the latest football (soccer) match. It was Manchester United against Liverpool FC, your dad’s favorite pairing. He claims that their games are “the most intense”. Many people disagree with him.

Your mum was cleaning the area up, and then sat down to start a conversation. It was just simple small talk at first. How are you doing, feel different from home, is London a nice place to live in, and etcetera. The conversation was soothing and easy going until your mum asked the all time, mood-killer question.

“So, anything going on in the bedroom?”

You gaped at your mum, having no clue how to answer it. Phil had the same reaction and blushed. Your mother laughed and turned to your dad. They started discussing their – quote – ‘bedroom days’. It started to evolve into a disturbing discussion, both you and Phil becoming horrified. You interrupt before they could get any more graphic.

“O-kay, I think we’ll just be on our way now. We don’t want to be late for an important meeting.” You say quickly and get up.

“What meeting–” Phil started and you elbowed him. You have him look. He mouthed the word 'oh’.

“Yeah, I have a YouTube meeting in a few minutes. I guess we just lost track of time. See you another time.” Phil waved at your parents.

Your left the house feeling embarrassed. “Oh my god, I’m so sorry they brought that up.”

“It’s fine, they’re parents. They do that kind of stuff. It’s a good thing you interrupted when you did. They definitely do not need to know everything about us.” Phil said with a laugh.

“Cause he knows I would have kicked him,” - Steven Gerrard on Xabi Alonso being relieved about not playing against him Liverpool.

“Call Xabi?” “Of course, I’ll be on the phone to him.”

“We had a fantastic relationship.”

“Xabi Alonso definitely never got this–” (interview or arse, you decide)
