again my favorite thing to do

Okay, there’s something about Voltron that I’ve been pondering for awhile and I strongly feel the need to point this out because I have yet to see anyone else do it.

Haggar is voiced by Cree Summer (one of my favorite voice actresses of all time, but I digress) and in the Belly of the Weblum episode we hear Cree Summer’s voice again, as the mascot Weblum for Coran’s video.

The reason this happened can only logically be one of two reasons.

1. They just got Cree Summer to voice a second character which is a common thing to do, and heck the lady can do a lot of different voices.

Oooor

2. Haggar knew Coran when they were both younger, and somehow she got pulled into putting on the weblum costume to do his instructional video, and frankly I’m hoping that is the case because that is freaking hilarious.  She probably thinks this video got destroyed, so just imagine her rage upon learning that not only does it still exist but the paladins, her enemy, have seen this.

This is my new headcanon and no way can take this away from me.

FAVORITE THINGS: victor von doom doing a mental risk/reward analysis like “you know what? when this girl was fourteen she covered me in squirrels. have i rodent-proofed my shit since then? yes. am i in the mood to get covered in fucking squirrels again? literally never. god knows what new powers she’s found since puberty. let the little devil-imp take the goddamn time machine. fuck it. who cares. she’ll probably just end up using it to go back in time and tell herself to never come here. that’s how 90% of all time travel ends. another 5% ends with me as undisputed ruler of the entire earth. i’m not even giving her the good time machine. it’s the janky one. joke’s on her, the a/c doesn’t even work and the tapedeck is broken. doom, as ever, is the real winner here.”

Our conscious minds are very spread out. We worry about the past. We worry about the future. We label. And all of that stuff just makes us very separate. What I’m trying to do is just quiet it down. Put that brain down from time to time and hope those periods of quiet and stillness get longer. When you do that, what rises from the mist is a kind of surrendering. You’re more connected as opposed to being separate. A lot of the questions about destiny or fate or purpose or any of that stuff—it’s not like you get answers. You just realize you didn’t need the questions.

“Take care of my brothers?? Screw you! They’re the ones who wouldn’t play with me! I didn’t do anything wrong! And what does being the oldest have to do with anything?! We’re sextuplets! We’re all the same age! … But then again… technically… I’m still the oldest, aren’t I?”

  • sai: I still don't understand your bond with sasuke
  • naruto: this again?
  • naruto: look, it's simple
  • naruto: basically, he's my best friend, and the first person to really accept me for myself
  • naruto: we're also rivals because I've always wanted to be his equal, but he made me feel inferior, that bastard
  • naruto: I admire his determination, skills, strength, and the hidden kindness in his heart
  • naruto: I like the way his skin glows like the moon, the way his eyes are so clear and black, I can see my own reflection if I lean in close enough
  • naruto: his lips feel like velvet and taste sour, but also a little sweet
  • naruto: like tomatoes, I guess... huh...
  • sai: and how do you know what his lips taste like?
  • naruto: oh yeah, we kissed a few times
  • naruto: it was mostly on accident
  • sai: but you say you're friends?
  • naruto: no, no, we're more than just friends
  • sai: I see... that makes more sense
  • naruto: yeah, he's like a brother to me
  • naruto: a really infuriating, good-looking older brother
  • sai: I'm confused again
  • sai: so you're not in love with him?
  • naruto: don't be ridiculous- I just told you he's like a brother to me
  • naruto: you can't be in love with your brother
  • naruto: no matter how good-looking he is
  • naruto: that's weird
  • sai: and the rest of this is normal?
  • naruto: um... yeah
  • sai: I understand now
  • naruto: you do?
  • sai: yes, if I was sasuke, I would want to kill you too
  • naruto: sai, we have to work on your people skills

one of my favorite things about the humans are weird posts is that no matter how different humans are from aliens, everyone sort of just rolls with it?

and, imagine if the “weird” humans (the neurodivergent, autism spectrum, non-binary) are actually closer to the aliens than the normies are, and they become our ambassadors and stuff

“what is this ‘gender’ thing again? is it another word for 'personality’? is it important?”

“terran. are. too. touchy… WHY are they always touching things and other beings and ME?”

“why do most humans prefer to communicate with sound waves when they are primarily visual creatures? would it not make more sense if everyone also conversed using 'language of hand’?”

I have Some Thoughts™ about actual Waverly’s behavior (non-Gooverly) from 2x03, so I’mma dump them here, as per usual.

Wynonna’s big theme regarding Waverly this episode is making sure she doesn’t lose herself. They come back to it several times, and even though Wynonna’s oblivious about whatever’s going on with this possession situation, she’s proving that being Waverly’s big sister is super important to her.

And Waverly is pretty much all about Nicole right now, when she’s not picking up shiny objects with her five-finger-discount to add to her kleptomania museum. Don’t get me wrong, it’s refreshing to see non-straight women on my tv who are unapologetic about just how into one another they are, but I think it’s also important to note that she’s lost herself in at least one other person before. This type of behavior is common for people with abandonment issues, and I think they’re doing a wonderful job of bringing it out subtly that perhaps a flaw of Waverly’s is that she latches on too tight in romantic relationships and might lose herself a little bit in that process.

The thing that stands out to me the most about this is the fine line that Wynonna’s trying to walk: being super supportive of her baby sister’s new relationship but also being vocal about Waverly being important without a relationship. (Her whole “you’re the best, remember that” comment reminded me of Cristina Yang telling Meredith Grey, “He’s not the sun, you are.”)

Wynonna doesn’t have any context for what’s happening other than seeing how Waverly is behaving. So, for instance, she’s not aware that when Waverly shows up to the high school while Nicole’s working, Nicole’s response is, “hey babe, I’m working just now, do you think you can self-entertain until I’m done?” It seems like she just assumes that Nicole is Champ 2.0, and she doesn’t want Waverly (who missed her own valedictorian speech to watch Champ play video games - what????) to go down this road again. I bet she’s imagining that Nicole is probably encouraging this kind of clinginess instead of what she’s actually doing - trying to find a good balance for them both while asserting that her job is very important to her and that she has a pretty clear boundary when it comes to her work. This is one of my favorite things about the conflict going on between Wynonna and Nicole right now. They both very clearly care for Waverly, but they’re very much not on the same page. It’s complicated.

And I love that they’re letting Waverly’s flaws and insecurities shine through. She’s clearly struggling with whatever’s inside of her, but when she’s not, she’s struggling with the very non-supernatural, very relatable issue of how to maintain your identity in a brand new relationship. And they’re not afraid to let her fail a little bit, and to use it as an opportunity to strengthen the bond that she and Wynonna share.

It’s good storytelling, is what I’m saying.

fangirl challenge [1/15 male celebrities: Joe Keery

“I did like, theater camp, when I was a little kid and made videos with my sisters and was interested in music, but didn’t ever want to sing. I thought it was cool to play music, for sure, or - I saw School of Rock! I saw that movie and I was like ‘Oh my God! That seems like the coolest thing ever!’ … We were like this is the real shit. We gotta start doing this.”

Was Viktor Annoyed at Yuuri? (Or why Viktor Nikiforov was such a bully in Ep. 2 and 3)

You know how we can’t seem to read Viktor’s character in the early episodes? Is he on Yuuri’s side? Or is he really a bad guy?

I think what lent to the confusion is that there were circumstances that we did not know at the time. Now though, we know that Viktor came to Japan by Yuuri’s invitation, which Yuuri conveniently forgot, leaving Viktor in the cold – confused, alone and friendless, surrounded by strangers in mother-effing Japan.

I imagine that between meeting at the hot springs and Viktor falling asleep after eating, he had tried engaging Yuuri in conversation, maybe tried getting that old spark between them back. Yuuri, though, sober and thinking that that was their first “real” meeting, probably just stuttered and ran off and just generally acted evasive and odd.

Viktor tries…

…but Yuuri Katsuki just keeps going

What does he mean what? What is even happening??

Eventually, Viktor’s fuse just sort of shorts and before he could stop himself, he is asking Yuuri about his victory-katsudon and asking why he would eat it when

Lmao, the little shit.

If we go thinking Viktor is somewhat annoyed at Yuuri’s rather cold welcome, this actually leaves us with this wonderful thought: a pissed of Viktor Nikiforov is still adorably entertaining.

Look at this dork. He is caustic,

petty,

and is just downright merciless.

Given all that though, he also drowns his sorrows alone and gets himself shit-faced when it all becomes too much.

Viktor Nikiforov is basically your standard passive-aggressive girlfriend with a side of drunk Russian.

I can just imagine Viktor drunk-slurring in Russian at the locals of Hasetsu, lamenting about their insensitive golden boy who swoops in on unsuspecting world champions, makes them fall for them, invites them to Japan and then proceeds to act like nothing happened. Can you imagine the nerve of the guy? To hell with Yuuri Katsuki! He will pay for this. Viktor will choreograph the most difficult short program in history and make him skate it!

Good thing probably no one in Hasetsu can understand Russian.

I think this was also partly why he agreed to Yuri P’s demand to come back to Russia if he wins Hot Springs on Ice. Even if Viktor later seemed to regret it (which I talked about in this meta), I think at that moment, Viktor thought that it didn’t matter much whether he stays or goes. Yuuri Katsuki was not what Viktor expected, and he no longer knows where he stands with the other boy.

Besides, Yuuri is confusing af okay. Really? Eros is katsudon? The program rings no other bells whatsoever?

Like bruh, you’re not even high??

One of my favorites is when Yuuri went like this

and it is so reminiscent of that adorable thing kids do when they want their favored person (like a parent or a teacher) to be proud of them (“so please watch me do this amazing thing okay!”). It is a sign of affection from Yuuri to Viktor, but just look at it from Viktor’s point of view. You seduce me, forget about me, and now you want my attention again – so many mixed signals, Yuuri!

Lmao, look at Viktor’s wtf face:

It’s like he doesn’t know what the hell is going on anymore and his soul just died a little.

One has to hand it to Viktor, though: he is not the kind of person who would sabotage a fellow skater by doing something awful at the start of their program. He reins himself in and somehow finds it in himself to encourage Yuuri.

Viktor also seemed to calm down at the end. He… forgives Yuuri? Here, I think – after seeing Yuuri figure out Eros.

Did he catch a glimpse of the skater he knew, or perhaps the boy he danced with at the banquet? Or did he see something else in Yuuri, nearer to that boy in that video who seemed to understand “Stay Close to Me”?

I think eventually Viktor decided to just become Yuuri’s coach for real because he is talented and worth it; whatever is between them can be settled on a later date, when he knows Yuuri more.

Really, it was a journey becoming Yuuri Katsuki’s coach - literally (because wow, how many hours is it from St. Petersburg to Hasetsu) and figuratively (because emotional and psychological stress is a thing, and this is why you don’t drop your day job because you met a cute boy at a party).

Midnight Talks Pt. Two || Peter Parker Imagine

A/N: I tried my best (that’s a lie, i didn’t even grammar check it), I hope you all enjoy

Part One

“So Y/N, how was your, um, your night last night?” Peter asked as he started eating his lunch. All day, all you could think about was last night. Spider-Man randomly showed up in your room. In what world does that actually happen to someone? You looked down at your lunch, trying to figure out what to tell him, Ned and Michelle who suddenly got interested in the conversation due to lack of an answer.

“It was uh, good actually, watched a funny movie. Why do you ask?” You question back at him. You didn’t tell him about the whole Spider-Man thing because you didn’t know if the man in the mask wanted you to tell people. Peter looked down at his lunch tray. “Just curious, that’s all. What about you guys,” he looked between Ned and Michelle, “how were your nights?” He asked. Peter didn’t want to seem suspicious if he only asked you. He knew what you actually did last night, you were with him. Well, his alter ego. Did you not trust him enough to tell him about it?

As Ned began to explain his action packed night of binge watching old movies, you began to play with your food, lost in thought about the city’s hero, Spider-Man. He was funny, and kind of cool. Not everyone gets to talk to him which made the entire situation even better than it already was.

Peter looked over and saw you playing with your food. He turned to see if Ned was still talking to him but he was now talking to Michelle. “Hey,” Peter said as he turned to you, “you okay? You seem a bit out of it.” He sounded worried about you. You nodded your head yes, “Yeah, yeah I’m fine. I just didn’t get much sleep last night.”

“Did you stay up all night watching movies?” He asked with a small smile, knowing exactly what you did. “How’d you know?” You said sarcastically, knowing that you told him earlier. “Lucky guess.” He said with a shrug, playing along with the whole thing. The two of you quietly laughed at the situation.

What the two of you didn’t hear was Michelle and Ned talking about you. “You think  they’re ever going to date?” Ned whispered to Michelle. “Oh definitely.” She said before getting back to reading her book.

It was late at night, again. But this time, you were busy doing your homework. You only had a few more problems you needed to do. You sighed, getting anxious for the sleep you so desperately needed. You went to open your window, wanting to hear the sounds of the city. You went back to your homework area and glanced at the time on your phone to see that it was 11:50. Jesus, these high school teachers are draining the life out of you. Forgetting about your homework, you stayed on your phone for a few minutes. All of a sudden, a wind washed over you. You look up and see Spider-Man.

He came here on purpose this time, he wanted to see you. At least that’s what you understood. “How is is it that Spider-Man has been in my room, not just once, but twice now?” You asked with a humorous sound lacing your voice. You saw him shrug his shoulders as he went to sit on your bed. “I guess I just like talking to you.” He said as he jumped up onto your bed, and crossing his legs Indian style. Spider-Man patted a seat next to him, indicating you to go and sit with him.

You got on the bed and crossed your legs the way that he had done. “What do you want to talk about?” You asked as you started playing with your hands out of nervousness.

“I don’t know….tell me about your life. Your crush your favorite things, your friends, really anything.” Spider-Man said. You cleared your throat before speaking again. “My friends are the most awesome people on the planet. They are always nice and understanding.  I would be lost without them, really.” You said looking up at him.

“Are you popular?” He asked curiously. You shook your head immediately. “No, I hang out with the same three people everyday. If anything, I am one of the most unpopular kids at my school.”

“How could you be unpopular?” He asked with a surprised tone, “You’re  the most gorgeous girl I have ever seen.” You blushed at the statement. Another plus, he is super sweet. “T-Thanks.”

“So, do you have a crush on anyone?” He questioned with a voice that made him sound like a dramatic 5th grader. This made you smile. “He, he is just something else you know what I mean? He’s different then any other guy that I have ever met. He is just such a good person with a big heart and he is crazy smart. He uh, just got an internship at Stark Industries. What teenager gets that opportunity?” You told Spider-Man all this, venting to a man you don’t even know.

“Sounds like he’s a pretty cool guy. What’s his name? Maybe I can help you with your relationship.” He said the last part mockingly. Peter knew exactly what he was doing. He wanted you to admit your feelings for him even if you weren’t telling the real Peter. He just wanted to hear you say those words.

You smiled widely thinking of the boy who had you wrapped around his finger. “His name is-”

“Peter! What’s up?” You said as you ran to catch up with him. He turned and smiled at you, “Hey Y/N.”

Spoonie Witch Tips: Cleansing

Cleansing is important. Whether it be after a spell or ritual or just maintenance, a good cleansing can keep icky vibes out of your space while also lifting and promoting good vibes. (I’ve also noticed that cleansing works especially well for keeping the spookies that are attracted by my depression away. More on that later.)

I don’t know about everyone else, but sometimes I just don’t have the spoons to get out of bed, let alone cleanse my house on the regular. Over the course of my practice, I’ve compiled a few low maintenance ways to cleanse my space and I wanted to share them with my fellow spoonie witches.

Low Energy Cleansing Methods

1) Open the windows. Let the air come in and sweep away all of the stagnant and gross energy that’s lurking in your space. A bonus to this is that fresh air will get into all of the cracks and crevices, so it’s really thorough.

2) If you have an oil burner or diffuser, pop in some rosemary, eucalyptus, and lavender oil (if you have a burner, you can find these oils for under $5 at Walmart. If you have a diffuser, check Amazon for the most efficient option for you). These oils have seriously cleansing and protection properties, especially when paired together. If you’re using a diffuser, you can also use some charged water (sun, moon, etc) to help boost the energy.

3) Don’t want to make a cleansing spray or whatever? I feel you, friend. Take yourself to Walmart or your local dollar store and buy some air freshener. If possible, try to choose a scent you associate with cleansing. I like Air Glade Lavender and Chamomile. I pretty much just spray it while telling it to cleanse the space. It also smells nice, so bonus. This is a good one for the closet witches out there!

4) Himalayan salt lamps. Seriously, just turning them on and asking the element of Earth to cleanse the space works for me.

5) A salt water spray for those who are not open about their work. You can also add a little bit of vinegar or lemon to boost the cleaning properties of the spray. I like to add lemon juice, some rosemary, and holy water to mine.

6) Literally, just small bowls of salt around your space. In my own practice, I’ve found this also helps ward and fight off the spookies that are attracted to my depression and anxiety. It doubles as a cleanser and ward, so I make use of this often.

7) Music is a powerful tool. There are whole YouTube channels dedicated to this purpose, so finding a tune you like may take a little time, but at least you’ll have options. I like to use the wind chime sounds.

8) Light a candle. Sometimes I choose a scent associated with cleansing (lilac is good for cleansing and exorcisms, lavender is cleansing and protection, and any scent named after sunshine makes me think of cleansing and healing), other times I just light a white candle and visualize its light consuming all of the darkness in the room, clearing out all of the crap.

9) Get some plants. I don’t know what it is about having plant babies, but they cleanse and raise a space’s vibes like no one’s business. Look into cactuses, succulents, and other starter plants!

10) My personal favorite? Opening the windows and doors to my space and telling the bad vibes that they don’t have to go home, but they can’t stay here, aka the GTFO method. This is probably best paired with another method, but I would be lying if I said I didn’t use this one frequently.

I hope this helps some people out there! Again, I just wanted to share some things I’ve learned work for me and my situation. You might find that you prefer some methods to others or that you need to tweak them- and that’s okay! Do what works for you, your spoons, and your practice. 💖🌌

❛ Wait, so you had no idea it was Easter? There are posters everywhere. ❜
❛ I auditioned to be in the Easter play at school so I could skip going to church with my parents. ❜

One of my favorite things about Andrew is how focused on recovering from his trauma he is. And how he doesn’t give a fuck if no one else notices or cares. By the end of the series, he’s taken a lot of steps forward to try to reclaim his life yet the team, other than Neil, still views him as dangerous and unhinged. But he doesn’t care because his recovery has nothing to do with them. It’s not about making them feel more comfortable or being a better person. It’s about having control of his life again. And even if everyone can’t see how far he’s come, it doesn’t mean he hasn’t made any progress.
