Graflex Speed Graphic with Aero-Ektar Lens. FP-100c instant film.

I took the first photo of Ricky I just recently changed out the ground glass in the large and didn’t tape in frame lines yet for instant film so I was guessing my composition. After the first photo Ricky had moved but hassy scooted into his spot. I figured he was close to the same distance Ricky has been and wound the curtain and shot a second shot and got lucky.

If you’ve ever been around hassy you know how hard it is to get a photo of him. Even with an AF camera. So shooting him with the large was pretty close to a miracle.

When you’re lost in those woods, it sometimes takes you a while to realize that you are lost. on Flickr.

For the longest time, you can convince yourself that you’ve just wandered off the path, that you’ll find your way back to the trailhead any moment now. Then night falls again and again, and you still have no idea where you are, and it’s time to admit that you have bewildered yourself so far off the path that you don’t even know from which direction the sun rises anymore.
