Liberal comedians like Seth MacFarlane and Bill Maher being stunned and sad and wondering how casual misogyny and Islamophobia led to Trump getting elected POTUS is the greatest irony since Alanis bitched about rain on her wedding day.
You don’t think all those college frat boys listened carefully to what you were saying? You don’t think that had consequences? That it didn’t influence them?
If you’re as eager as everyone else is to see what Production I.G is cooking up for its followups to 2003 anime FLCL, well, hopefully you plan on attending Anime Expo this year. An FLCL 2 & 3 panel is lined up for July 2, and the description lists a trailer as part of the programming.
In addition to the promised trailer, the panel will feature a poster giveaway and production announcements. Adult Swim’s Jason DeMarco will be on hand with Haruka voice actress Mayumi Shintani and FLCL creator and director Kazuya Tsurumaki.
Here’s the project description from the initial announcement:
Created in 2000, FLCL told the tale of Naota, a 12-year-old boy who met a woman that would forever change his life…whether he liked it or not.
In the new season of FLCL, many years have passed since Naota and Haruhara Haruko shared their adventure together. Meanwhile, the war between the two entities known as Medical Mechanica and Fraternity rages across the galaxy. Enter Hidomi, a young teenaged girl who believes there is nothing amazing to expect from her average life, until one day when a new teacher named Haruko arrives at her school. Soon enough, Medical Mechanica is attacking her town and Hidomi discovers a secret within her that could save everyone, a secret that only Haruko can unlock.
But why did Haruko return to Earth? What happened to her Rickenbacker 4001 she left with Naota? And where did the human-type robot ‘Canti’ go?

FLCL (or Fooly Cooly) will be getting two new season from Adult Swim. The channel has picked it up to air on their dedicated anime block Toonami. The new seasons will be produced by AdultSwim themselves in conjunction with Japanses anime studio Production I.G. and will be helped by the series creator Kazuya Tsurumaki. The new season will take place years since Naota and Haruhara engaged Medical Mechanica with the help of Canti. Haruhara will now infringe on someone else’s life introducing herself as a teacher to new character Hidomi, a girl bored of her average life.
