admirable lyrics

“You work and walk and spit words like a boss
wonder woman, in reality you’re so feminine.”

  • Bobby, ‘My Type’ lyrics (2015)

“Girl, just because Wonder Woman is strong
That doesn’t mean it’s ok to hurt her.”

  • Bobby, ‘Lean on me’ lyrics (2017)

I can’t repeat enough how important these lyrics are. Bobby is looking for a woman as strong as Wonder Woman. Which means he supports the picture of a strong woman and finds such a woman attractive. A strong and independent woman. He is not afraid of such a woman but admires them instead. And at the same time he knows that being strong doesn’t mean that such a woman can’t have a hard time or feel hurt sometimes too. It doesn’t take away anything from her strongness. Being strong can sometimes mean being brave enough to cry or depend on someone else. He knows that and I love Bobby for knowing and singing about exactly that.

BTS Reaction: He Falls in Love With You at a Fanmeet

@t0kistar asked:

Hellow!⭐I rarely send request pff to shy or panic after sending it. But I have this idea and would love to see if you bring it up to life. Reactions, the boys fall in love with their s/o at a fanmeeting, talking another language having a hard time to understand each other (sorry for the strange english… I have a headache that don’t want to leave xD)

Aww, no need to be shy, sweety. This was such a cute request and was so fun to write! 💕 Don’t worry about your English. I understood it fine.

You’re at the stove, cooking breakfast while wearing one of his very oversized shirts, when he wakes up. He leans against the doorway and smiles to himself, remembering how you two met.

He was at a Fanmeet in a foreign country and was having the hardest time conversing with his fans. He was taken aback when you appeared in front of him. You were so beautiful, you literally took his breath away. It took him a minute to realize he was staring, only to fumble through a greeting. You took his hand in yours and smiled warmly at him, struggling in your broken Korean to express how much you admire him for taking care of the boys, and how beautiful you thought his voice was.

He was so touched by your kind words, he skribbled his number along with his signature on your poster. He expressed his thanks and had to force his eyes onto the next fan as you moved on.

“Jin? What are you thinking about?” you ask as you walk up to where he’s still leaning against the doorway, smiling like a fool.

“You,” he whispers, wrapping his arms around your waist and kissing you softly.

You’ve gotten very good at writing lyrics, so Yoongi asks you for help. As you sit in the extra computer chair he brought into his studio, and lean over the notebook to read what he wrote, he stares at your profile, fiddling with a wisp of hair that escaped the messy bun on your head.

You had met at a fanmeet and struggled to communicate, neither of you speaking the others language well. You stumbled over your words, but he got the sense of them. You expressed your admiration for his lyrics and how you hoped to be a songwriter one day.

He smiled his sweet smile at you and grabbed your hand, lacing your fingers together. He discreetly wrote his number on the inside of your wrist and waved you on.

Now, as you sit there and cross something out on the pad, he suddenly grabs your wrist.

“What?” you ask, jumping in surprise.

He doesn’t say anything to you, just takes the pen out of your hand, and writes on your wrist. When he releases you, you see the words ‘I love you’. You gaze at him in wander, but he just shrugs, playing it cool.

He’s trying to find the inspiration to write a new song, but his thoughts are preoccupied by you.

He’s great at English, but when you showed up at a fanmeet, he somehow forgot it all. He stumbled over his words as he felt your soft, warm hand in his. He couldn’t do anything but stare at you as you smiled in bewilderment at his odd behavior.

When you told him how his songs helped you through a difficult time in your life, he was able to overcome his nerves and express his graditude. He smiled warmly at you and asked you to stay afterwards so you could talk more.

In his studio, Namjoon scoffs at his idiocy. He’s already found his inspiration, he knows what his song will be about: you.

He’s in the practice room, practicing the new choreography, with you as his audience. You sit cross-legged on the floor, staring in awe as you watch.

He was joking with Jimin, and didn’t notice you step in front of him, next in line. When he finally turned to you, he was dumbstruck. You were crouched in front of him, a shy smile on your face, a bucket hat on your head. You looked so beautiful and cute at the same time, he couldn’t form a single sentence.

Despite your shyness, you decided to be the first to speak. You told him he was your favorite. That you loved his style and thought he was an amazing dancer. He finally broke his silence to thank you, smiling that winning smile of his.

“I’m sorry. You’re so beautiful, I forgot how to speak.”

He meets your eyes in the mirror and stumbles over his feet, the look on your face making him lose his natural grace.

“Jagi, if you keep looking at me like that, I’ll never get this choreography down.”

You’re so angry at him, and no matter what he says, he can’t get you to calm down. Then he remembers…

When you met at a fanmeet he became really bashful seeing you. You were so cute and sweet, even though you two could barely understand eachother.

In his nervousness, he ran his fingers through his hair, and you paused in your blabbering, just staring at him, your eyes wide.

He grinned at that, a little more confident in seeing how flustered you got. He held your smaller hand in his as he scribbled down his number.

Now, as you continue to yell at him, he waits for your eyes to turn back to him. He runs his fingers through his hair and you pause.

“Don’t do that,” you whine at him, forgetting why you’re angry. “That’s not fare.”

You two are wrestling, him tickling you to make you squeal and squirm, and he giggles. He’s always been playful, even when you first met.

He watched as you made your way down the line, impatiently waiting to meet you. He had notices you in the crowd and couldn’t keeo his eyes from constantly wandering to you.

When it was finally his turn his eyes widened in shock. You were even more gorgeous upclose. He cupped your face in his hands, squishing your cheeks and grinning widely.

“Wah! Beautiful!” He exclaimed, causing a blush to travel up your neck and into your cheeks, still squished in his hands.

He suddenly goes still. He’s on top of your and staring at you wide eyed. You’re out of breath, face flushed from exertion. His face slowly lowers to your as he gently cups your cheeks.

“Beautiful,” he whispers just before his lips meet yours.

He wakes up next to you for the first time. You’re still sleeping and he just stares at you in awe. You’re so beautiful, your hair fanned out over your pillow, your bare face, relaxed in sleep, your soft skin in the morning sunlight. And he remembers how you met…

He had noticed you down the line at the fanmeet, struggling to talk to the others; the closer you got, the more nervous he became. When you got to him, he couldn’t help but stutter a greeting. You were even more gorgeous up close, and he could barely get his words out.

You grinned at his obvious nerves and but didn’t make him feel awkward. You asked if he would take a selca on your phone. He obliged, quickly programming his number in it afterward. He tried to be nonchalant about it, but when you took your phone back and noticed, your dazzling smile made him blush and stutter even more.

You roll into his arms, hugging his waist, and open your eyes, giving him that same smile. His melts into a puddle of mush in your arms and hides his face in your neck, making you giggle and hug him tighter.

Harry Styles Emulates Folk-Rock Heroes at Intimate Los Angeles Gig
Harry Styles was joined onstage by Stevie Nicks Friday night at Los Angeles' Troubadour, a gig that marked the singer's first full U.S. concert.

“Tonight is maybe the best night of my life,” Harry Styles confessed Friday, facing an excited crowd of fans and friends gathered to hear the songs of his just-released solo debut, Harry Styles. The intimate club performance unfolded at the Troubadour, the celebrated West Hollywood room where some of his folk-rock heroes from the Seventies performed early career-defining gigs.

The erstwhile One Direction singer walked out as casually as anyone can in golden glitter pants. He picked up an electric guitar to begin “Ever Since New York,” a ballad warm and jangly, to an audience of raised cell phones. He winced dramatically to the lyrics of bitter love (“Almost over / Had enough from you”), ending with a fan sing-along to the repeated closing line: “Oh, tell me something I don’t already know.”

The album wasn’t the obvious move for the pop idol, but is now fully expected to debut at Number One on the Billboard 200 album chart. The concert at the 500-capacity Troubadour was a night to celebrate (and a benefit for homeless teens), while a crowd of mostly female fans not lucky enough to score a ticket stood outside waiting behind a barricade, maybe hoping for a glimpse of Styles, guest James Corden or anyone else.

At 23, Styles has launched a solo career to genuine acclaim, drawing less on the immediate pop of his multi-platinum boy band than lessons learned from the rock and pop past. His new songs show the direct influence of Bowie, Elton John, the Stones, Lennon & McCartney, and many others. The results that aren’t revolutionary in 2017 but are emotionally resonant, and suggest a healthy foundation of taste and ambition.

At the Troubadour, the percussive piano on “Woman” began like Elton’s “Bennie and the Jets.” The folky glimmer of his “Meet Me in the Hallway” shimmered like Bowie’s “Space Oddity.” His “Only Angel” snarled with Stonesy guitars and fittingly brutal beats and cowbell from drummer Sarah Jones.

By the time Stevie Nicks stepped out as his surprise guest for a trio of duets, Styles had traveled comfortably through a variety of styles. “You look pretty wonderful,” Styles said almost shyly as Nicks arrived at the mic. She replied, “So do you.”

“Nicks wore black and sang harmony on Styles’ "Two Ghosts,” a dreamy tune that could be Beck in sad singer-songwriter mode. Nicks looked over at her singing partner and blended her voice with his: “We’re just two ghosts standing in the place of you and me / Trying to remember how it feels to have a heart beat.”

They followed with Fleetwood Mac’s classic “Landslide,” trading lyrics and admiring glances. Young women in the crowd shouted along to Nicks, but turned silent when Styles delivered his lines, which were his most gentle and reverent of the night. When Nicks paused to share some history about “Landslide,” Styles stepped back to sit and listen like the rest of the room, then joined her on one more song, “Leather and Lace.”

For much of the 80-minute set, Styles’ demeanor was as casual as if he were hosting a cocktail party in his living room, at ease with fans shouting ecstatically to his every syllable. With him were not a band of session players but a group of young musicians and peers, including guitarist Mitch Rowland, who was still working at a pizza shop when recruited by Styles as a player and co-writer on the album.

Together, they charged into “Kiwi,” a grinding rocker in the tradition of the Strokes or Jet, sending Styles bouncing around the stage, leaning into the front rows, punching the air.

“Unfortunately I only have one album, so we’ve only got one song left,” he said with a laugh near the end of the night. “We’ve quite literally run out of material.”

He then turned to the band and suggested performing “Kiwi” once more, as many in the crowd erupted. The band dove back into the rocker, and it was just as convincing, the song and energy clearly a sweet spot for Styles. When it was done, he asked, “Do it again?”

Instead, Styles closed with the emotionally lush “Sign of the Times,” already a career-defining song for the new solo artist. It wasn’t a casual reading. His voice soared and shifted gracefully between tenor and falsetto, retaining the epic song’s solemn gospel flavor (even without the album’s accompanying choir).

Like “Kiwi,” the tune tapped into something real in the singer, lifting him far beyond casual charmer and into passionate performer. Which might the greatest lesson of all from the musical heroes of the rock and pop past.

what they say*: ‘i’m fine’

what they mean*: ryan ross is literally a god and i admire his lyrics and words so incredibly much, i cry most nights over his old livejounral entry’s and ponder about what happened in cape town. i would literally cut off both my legs and then - some how - climb up a mountain just for him to post another picture of himself on instagram, or just to know how he’s doing, or what he had for breakfast. The problem is… none of this is relevant anymore,, it’s not 2006,, ryan’s not in panic! or tyv’s anymore and ryden isn’t real. this bothers me quite to an extent and that is why i cannot sleep at night.

“Dans leurs bonjours, il y a des cactus
Dans leurs cactus, il y a des cactus!”

Seventeen’s Reaction to: “We Got Married”

S.Coups: Be prepared for cheesy jokes and bad pickup lines. Maybe a flirty wink or two? Or ten. That was just a front for the cameras though. When they were off and it was just you two, he was charming and sweet; a true gentleman.

Jeonghan: Sings while you both cook. Likes to brush stray hair behind your ear or wipe away a fallen eyelash that landed on your cheek. Low-key couple outfits and matching jewelry.

Joshua: A real gentleman. He was shy when you first met but when he got more comfortable, he would bring you flowers or serenade you with his guitar.

Jun: Teaches you some Chinese phrases. Laughs if you mess up horribly. Also, bad puns where he’s the only one laughing. You tried teaching him how to whistle but still no progress. Speaks in Chinese to confuse and annoy you but when you understand him, he’s internally really happy because you’re actually learning and that makes his heart melt.

Hoshi: is a massive fanboy of your gg so starts screaming when you sit across the table from him. Then he takes deep breaths, hands flailing wildly – “Can I have your autograph?” and not so subtly spends the rest of WGM trying to impress you; showing off his expert dancing, “I choreographed that!” and “No, let me get that for you!”.

Wonwoo: Towers over you. Bends his knees to make the height difference less obvious during selca taking. Sometimes, just stares at you in awe of how funny or kind you are so it becomes a massive meme; “Find someone who looks at you like Wonwoo looks at _____.”

Woozi: He was reluctant to even be on the show, obvious from his half assed greeting you. Until you mentioned that you admired his lyric writing, how hard he worked and his amazing singing. Then, as the show went on, he came to find out about your talent and dedication. And then his demeanour changed. He pulled out chairs for you, complimented your hairstyle, blushed if you held his hand. By the end of the show, 17’s concerts had banners streaming with your ship name and it made him so happy to see fans supporting his feelings for you.

DK: this puppy brought nothing but fun times and laughter. With his sunshine smile and energy, you couldn’t help but get along with him. The staged tv relationship turned into a real relationship quickly, with the entire public backing it. It brought a lot of publicity to yours and 17’s careers.

Mingyu: Likes to tease you about the height difference (asshole). At first the relationship was purely a friendly one filled with playful banter but half way through the show, you started to look at each in a different light. Then the atmosphere turned from joking to romantic, with him pulling out chairs for you or opening doors.

The8: was really quite at first, mostly due to language difficulties and shyness. But when he warmed up to you, he started to crack jokes and act playfully. You were nicknamed the “puppy couple” because of your cuteness.

Seungkwan: tbh, he had a slight complex about feeling less important than the others in 17 and you helped him overcome that, always saying he was cute or complimenting his singing. Now he wants to hold your hand 24/7 and falls for every prank you throw at him, never actually exacting revenge like he always promises because he’s afraid of ever actually upsetting you.

Vernon: Meme boy met his perfect meme girl and you both became the meme couple; dabbing every day, rapping “Hotline Bling,” getting matching onesies.

Dino: Stuttering and awkward, he had no actual experience with girls before. So sometimes his teasing goes too far or he freaks out and runs if you start crying. One episode featured him frantically ringing his father for advice, then showing up later with a bouquet of flowers. He’s young but he’s trying at least.

Knew he was a killer
First time that I saw him
Wonder how many girls he had loved and left haunted
But if he’s a ghost then I can be a phantom
Holdin’ him for ransom
Some, some boys are tryin’ too hard
He don’t try at all though
Younger than my exes but he act like such a man, so
I see nothing better, I keep him forever
Like a vendetta-ta

I-I-I see how this is gonna go
Touch me, and you’ll never be alone
I-Island breeze and lights down low
No one has to know

In the middle of the night, in my dreams
You should see the things we do, baby
In the middle of the night, in my dreams
I know I’m gonna be with you
So I take my time
(Are you ready for it?)

[Verse 2]
Me, I was a robber
First time that he saw me
Stealing hearts and running off and never saying sorry
But if I’m a thief then
He can join the heist
And we’ll move to an island-and
He can be my jailer
Burton to this Taylor
Every lover known in comparison is a failure
I forget their names now
I’m so very tame now
Never be the same now, now

Touch me and you’ll never be alone
I-Island breeze and lights down low

For this week’s theme, diving into Mozart’s Don Giovanni, I wanted to talk a little about one of the opera’s more popular arias, “Madamina, il catalogo è questo”. On the one hand, this may be the more “comedic” side of this tragicomedy, where Don Giovanni’s servant Leoprello is describing the variety of women who his master has seduced. The lightheartedness, lyricism, and admiration of his “conquests” makes the darker implications even more jarring. Thinking of women as prizes to be won, and obsessing over the quantity of women and not caring about them as other people…if anything this is the mark of sociopathic behavior. And yet Leoprello is proud to serve. He may represent a darker side of humanity, the sexism of admiring men who sleep around, and the mentality that you should “want” to be like Don Giovanni. If anything the opera’s main argument is that you DON’T want to be like Don Giovanni, as his actions destroy him in the end.

Mozart - Don Giovanni

“Madamia, il catalogo è questo”

Ildebrando D’Arcangelo, bass-baritone

Stay tuned this week for more of Mozart’s Don Giovanni! - Nick O.
