Some progress shots of my autumn Tauriel corset (full cosplay can be seen here (x))

Instead of using a pre-bought pattern, I made my own by wrapping my middle in duct tape to capture my body shape more accurately. For this cosplay I wanted something that would be aesthetically pleasing but wouldn’t restrict my movements (Tauriel’s a fighter after all).

After transferring the patterns to durable card and making adjustments, I made a test corset of cheap materials to see how the pattern worked out. After a few more adjustments to the pattern I cut out the pieces from vinyl and my lining fabric (the vinyl was thick enough that I did not need interfacing).

I  did not want my corset to have a busk at the front (it seemed out of place for this elven outfit), so the corset has 3 separate sections, one large back piece and two smaller front pieces. All the pieces lace together

Since the vinyl could not be pressed, I had to stitch down the seam allowance when it was time to attach the lining to it. I then sewed the bone casings through both layers. For the middle casings I simply used plastic boning, but for the edges where the corset pieces would be laced together, I used steel boning for more durability.

After finishing the edges with more vinyl, I put in the grommets, and then it was done!

May 18 is the start of the preview while June 5 is the opening date. Basically the official start of the production is June 5. But the May 18 dates leading to June 5 is like a test performances, like a beta version of software, before you release its stable version. Simply to make adjustments, test errors and other. June 5, the official start is where they will invite critics to review the production. Which is why in the theater site, that date is sold-out.

Okay, cool.  Thank you theater!anon.  Hopefully this is informative to some people.

Court costs force people to 'plead guilty to crimes they didn't commit'
Poverty-stricken people are being encouraged to plead guilty to crimes they did not commit out of fear they will face crippling costs imposed by new financial penalties, leading lawyers, magistrates and campaigners have warned.

Legal experts have called for an urgent review of the criminal courts charge, which has been compared to “18th-century” forms of justice after being implemented earlier this year.

The new levy was introduced by the former Justice Secretary, Chris Grayling, to make criminals pay for the upkeep of the courts. Because the charge can be up to 10 times higher if someone is found guilty after pleading innocence, critics say it is undermining the justice system by encouraging impoverished defendants to plead guilty even if they have done nothing wrong.

The charge is not means-tested or adjusted according to the seriousness of the crime. In the magistrates’ court it is fixed at £150 if someone pleads guilty, but it can rise to £1,000 if they are found guilty. Campaigners also say it has created an extra hardship for those whose crimes are motivated by poverty – and makes the punishment for small crimes disproportionate.

So the class I’m teaching has like 30 students and they are all at different levels. Some don’t even know who Jesus is and have never held a bible, some have a few sacraments and are there because grandma made them, and some are ready for their first course of cannon law. One student told her mom she refused to come because she already knew so much and we are basically starting at A. I told her mom that she probably just wants a good challenge and her mom laughed “you have no idea.”

The educational director suggested moving some of the more advanced students, the problem is the other class they would be moved to is the exact same curriculum and grade level. I think I will be having them all take a placement test and adjust assignments based on 3 levels. This is all going to include a general lecture, then the group one will start in class group work, then elaborate and assign assignments to the group 2, then the same for group 3 in one hour. Idk why I’m explaining this all, anyway,

Please pray for me the ages range from 10-17 I need all the graces I can get
