actiony poses

I really like @galoogamelady‘s Fallout art and comics, especially her OC Buttons, so I asked if I could draw Buttons and Fred meeting.

It ended up as a full-blown comic, although I kept it at linework so it wouldn’t take absolutely forever like my comics usually do.

Buttons is very fun to draw! However, remind me never to try to draw chain-link fences ever again. Hand cramps.

So it’s that time I guess, updated commission sheet of what I’m currently offering. This is a fairly fun style I’d like to offer.

Will Draw:

ocs, fanart, fantasy/sci-fi/modern armor, fantasy/sci-fi/modern weaponry, mild blood/injuries, magic effects, working from RL claims and drawn references, actiony poses, couples, all genders and sexuality.

Won’t Draw:

Heavy mecha, anthro/furry (sorry, just not practiced at these two), nsfw (mild nudity okay), romantic interactions between minor/adult, non-con, major gore/vore, fetishes, or anything abusive

If You’re Interested:

-Send an email to magebombcommissions.gmail.com titled “Commission Request” With references attached

-If I accept your commission, I will send invoice. Commission is to be paid for before art is started. If issues arise, I can work out a refund.

-After the commission is finished, I will post to tumblr unless otherwise specified.

-I have the right to refuse a commission under any grounds.

Do you have any tips of drawing fluid looking poses?? Like less stiff and forced ? I try to make things more exaggerated but I still have a lot of trouble with this

For starters:

One thing that has helped me is learning anatomy over time. When you have a solid understanding of anatomy, you know how the body is supposed to look and move. Because of that, you’re able to make changes that may not be 100% accurate, but will make a pose look more fluid. Figure drawing also helps, there are a lot of resources for that online if you cant take classes.

Another personal tidbit from me: A lot of people talk about the line of action. The line of action is applicable for some very actiony and sports poses (where the entire body is following an arc) but I never understood it until I started visualizing it as two parts. One for the torso, and one for the legs.

Like so:

I’m not sure if this drawing illustrates what I’m trying to convey? Let me know if my doodle is more confusing than the other answers and I’ll take it out haha 9_6
