A video of the progression of Paper project “Mr. Blue Sky”

reading by the window… WIP… inspired by a painting*…

I just can’t believe I finally began this essay…

…the story: recently I’ve been compelled to portrait an interior scene from a book, a photo, or some story I heard from old women in my father’s family… a past I read and heard of so many times to the point of feeling I’d lived there… I fell in love with many images posted by @womenandbooks… and found many inspiring themes there… I chose a recently posted image* which would be considered a ‘piece of cake’ by many artists (@sylvialynch, @acostaimages, @eichan68, @mademistakes, @nadiagabella, @roav, @donleyjan, @mbbradbury… just to name a few)… yet difficult enough to challenge my unskilled 'painting’ fears… So here I am grappling with this essay**… I must say that exercising skin colours and light-shadowing effects is a challenge I never faced for real, … in fact I’ve been avoiding it for a while… this time however I will persist even knowing it will take me a life… I’ll watch/re-watch available tutorials by generous artists I follow, hoping to improve my skills with this fantastic app. by FiftyThree which allows nice watercolours and all the rewinds and re-doings I certainly need*** …

* http://womenandbooks.tumblr.com/image/105708149848. I couldn’t dig the original artist’s signature (someone named W. ??)….

** I am not trying to reproduce that painting…, just exercising … with a bit of re-mixing freedom…

***any guidance from Paper pals will be 'very very’ welcome…
