Skin problems are never displaid in body positivity campaigns. Acne is rearly represented in the media, and when it does it’s represented negatively. You don’t need to have perfect skin to be beautiful.

if your skin problems/conditions are so extreme that essential oils aren’t an option, that’s okay!!!

if your skin problems are so extreme that you can’t use cutesy little products, you use medical-looking ones, that’s okay!!!

if your skin problems are so extreme that trendy face masks don’t do a thing, that’s okay!!!

if your skin problems persistent, extreme, and even annoying, that’s okay and you are beautiful!!!

okay, so i thought i would share this with you guys because i know majority of people have acne and flippin hate it !!! (obviously) and i used to suffer from pretty severe acne all over! i just wanted to give u guys some tips and tricks on how i cleared up my acne completely. 

-first of all, i started taking birth control. not for preventing to become pregnant, for my skin. my dermatologist suggested it. i’ve been taking it for a little over a year now and i am sure it is one of the major factors that my skin is clear. i noticed that when i went on a 2 week trip and forgot my birth control, that i broke out a bit. 

-i started what’s called the ‘caveman regimen’ in february of this year. i did a lot of research as to how to up acne and i found this routine. it consists of basically just doing nothing to your face other than washing with water. and that’s all i’ve done since february. i take a konjac sponge and run it under hot water and lightly exfoliate (it’s barely even exfoliation, it’s that gentle) for about a minute and splash cold water on my face (day & night). 

-referring to above, STOP USING SO MANY PRODUCTS ON YOUR FACE!! as an early teen, i thought using multiple drug store acne products (cough clean and clear cough) would clear up my skin- NO!!! it was irritating my skin like crazy! making my acne inflame basically. if u don’t want to try the caveman regimen, invest in a VERY natural face wash, like one from Lush. also, do not wash your face more than twice a day (irritation galore).

-i don’t wear makeup except mascara, but if u have a full face coverage routine, u MUST make sure it is ALLLLL off of your face before u go to sleep. invest in a really good/natural makeup remover (cough-coconut oil) and a good cleanser.

-SPF and moisturizing are KEY!!! i have a spf 40 moisturizer that i use in the morning and a lush moisturizer that i use at night. if u have oily skin, moisturize. if u have acne, moisturize. if u have dry skin, MOISTURIZE. trust me, i used to think that since i had acne and oily skin on my forehead that i wasn’t supposed to moisturize. but ever since i have… guess what……. my skin is clear n glowing!!!!! (i suggest lush moisturizers, they are amazing and healthy for u)

-treat your skin to a homemade mask once every one-two weeks. try a avocado and honey mask, or maybe an aloe vera n garlic mask!!! just google ‘homemade masks’ and tons will come up!!! (just make sure u aren’t allergic to the ingredients, obv)

-yes, your diet does affect your skin. dairy & sugar are two things that personally make me break out if i eat a lot of them. which sucks because my two favourite things in the world are cheese and ice cream… anyway, don’t completely cut them out, just limit them.

-CHANGE. YOUR. PILLOWCASES. i have four pillows and i use all eight sides of each pillow before i wash them all again :-) keep your face clean!!!!!

-wash your makeup brushes/cloths/anything you put on your face. including your hands. i have a soap that i use before bed called carbolic soap (doctors use it before surgery) because i have a habit of touching my face while i sleep. 

-yes, water is your friend, but it will not clear up acne on it’s own. i’m sorry.

OKAY so those were some of my experiences and tips on acne!!! i hope i helped u guys in some way!!!! pls message me if u have any questions

LIFE CHANGING TIP EVERYONE: mix three tablespoons of honey with one tablespoon of powdered cinnamon, and apply it to your face every day for at least 30 mniutes and then wash it off with warm water. IT WILL GET RID OF YOUR PIMPLES, I’ve only been using it for a week but my face is super clear, soft and nice, I love it. and if you have acne scars, add some lemon juice to the mix and you should be good to go.

To all my hoes, I bought this at Sephora about 3 days ago exactly, I was very distrustful about this product since I have tried a lot of this kind of products for acne, but the Sephora girl was insisting very much on it, so I bought the kit to give it a try and guuuurl this thing works magic on acne, I have very bad acne, and it gets even worse on those days of the month (which I always have to cover with make up) and it’s very uncomfortable when I have to sleep over with a SD and I have to take my makeup off 😑.

With the only 3 days I’ve been using it, my acne it’s almost gone,besides its a very good price for all of the goodies it contains than buying each one (which I recommend too) ☺️

I had one of those nasty pimples who get very red and ache and I applied the step 2 every four hours and at night all the redness was gone, and even the pimple.

If someone wants to see the before and after picture let me know 💕 but let me warn you the before picture looks gross lol

I can’t wait for my skin to be clear enough for me to be comfortable looking in restroom mirrors. I always avoid looking at my reflection in restrooms due to the possibility of the harsh lighting making me feel insecure. I just can’t wait to not feel so shitty and insecure. I can’t wait to not have to avoid my reflection.

things that piss me off (acne edition)


1) annoying people giving me useless advice - just yesterday a girl from my school came up to me and told me “hey listen, did you ever try using manuka honey for your face? it’s like 50 $ but it’s really good”(sidenote: she has clear skin) okay i get these ‘tips’ at least twice per day and they make me so frustrated like jesus i’ve used everything available in this universe oh my god do you think some honey is really going to help me? no

2) “you shouldn’t wear makeup it worsens your acne” how about no, it’s easy to say this, but if i were to go to school without makeup everyone would talk about my acne and i mean THE WHOLE SCHOOL + TEACHERS. it’s an easy thing to say when you have like 3 pimples but my confidence is already below zero so not wearing makeup would just throw me into a deep depression.

3) people talking me out of Accutane this happened when i was thinking about going on Accutane and i told my friend. all my friends went batshit crazy and proceeded to talk me out of it. i understand people caring about you but at the end of the day it’s my choice, and if i would go on Accutane it would be after lots and lots and even more hours of research. i know what i’m stepping into.

4) people just being ignorant and rude i once made the mistake of telling my friend that i had a good skin day and she just blurted out “you call that a good skin day? just kidding” and these kind of remarks really get to me. i don’t understand why some people feel the need to make somebody feel bad for themselves. what do you gain?? stop ok??

5) getting noticed and labeled only by your acne if you have ever had bad acne then you know the feeling of talking to a person a noticing their gaze glide to a bad pimple you have. or getting recognized as “the girl with reaaally bad acne” . yup, it’s the worst.

OKAY KIDDIES I’m going to share some beauty secretes with you that you probably didn’t even know was real.

this baby is the all powerful Apple Cider Vinegar

I am pretty sure JEsus himself thought of this creation because it can only do things Jesus himself COuld do.

FIRST of All just mix this baby into equal parts (about ¼ cup each) apple cider vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Spray onto your hair after shampoo, let sit for 15 minutes and rinse. Use twice per week, and you should be flake free in no time! Not only flake free! But your hair is soft and smooth like a babys butt. 

NEXT if you have a Nasty sooth a sore throat OR If you suffer from chronic sore throats, but don’t want to overdose on cough syrup, turn to apple cider vinegar! This shite is amazing! Mix one teaspoon apple cider vinegar, one teaspoon cayenne pepper and three teaspoons clover honey in a glass of warm water for an easy elixir. All three ingredients will work together to help you heal! Apple cider vinegar and honey have antibacterial properties, and the capsaicin in hot peppers helps alleviate pain. If that sore throat is due to allergies, apple cider vinegar packs an extra punch, since it also breaks up mucous and sinus congestion. BAM

ALSSOOOO Do you have stanky feet?? Make amazing foot deodorizer wipes!! Pour one-cup apple cider vinegar over baby wipes. (Thick single-use size paper towels will also work.) Soak the wipes overnight in the fridge, then store in a zip-lock bag to use as needed. The acids in the apple cider vinegar will alter the pH level of your skin, which fights off bacteria that cause smelly feet. In a pinch, these wipes also make great all-natural underarm deodorizers. Don’t be thrown off by the vinegar smell it will dissipate once it dries. WALAAAHHH None stanky feet!

Apple cider vinegar may just be the solution to help your digestive issues as well! To reduce gas, dilute a tablespoon of enzyme-rich apple cider vinegar with a cup of water or tea, and drink before a meal. This will also combat constipation, since the vinegar stimulates digestive juices that help your body breakdown food. You can also take a dose as soon as you feel heartburn symptoms coming on for a quick fix. Some theories suggest that heartburn occurs because of low stomach acid levels; so vinegar brings that level up. If you hate the taste of this mixture, try adding a dollop of honey!

Now this is my favorite! Apple cider vinegar can do wonders for your skin. For an all-natural astringent, apply a washcloth soaked in diluted apple cider vinegar to your face. Afterward, the protective acidic layer will make your skin feel smoother, absorb excess oil and reduce fine lines. This works by restoring the proper pH levels to your skin, and beta-carotene helps to counter future skin damage. Plus, a dab of diluted apple cider vinegar left overnight on age spots, pimples or acne scars will help reduce their appearance! 

Burnt to a crisp after a day in the sun? Apple cider vinegar to the rescue! Try adding a cupful or two to your bath to neutralize the burn. After soaking for 10 minutes, the apple cider vinegar will have helped restore your skin’s pH levels and your skin will feel cool and soothed. Yellow teeth are no match for apple cider vinegar! For stubborn stains, rub apple cider vinegar directly on your teeth then rinse with water. Be careful not to do this too often, as it can break down tooth enamel. For a less abrasive whitening mouthwash, mix one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar with a cup of water, then swish around in your mouth. Presto! Beautiful teeth! WELL this is all!
