jfc people saying that valtteri “isn’t happy about his win” i can’t
just because he isn’t screaming, jumping around and climbing fences doesn’t mean he isn’t happy. he’s just a really calm, down to earth guy who doesn’t feel the need to express his emotions in that way, everyone celebrates differently
also this is all new to him and probably quite overwhelming, he was clearly unsure of what to do at certain moments and often looked over at sebastian for guidance. and anyway he was smiling and laughing in the cool down room and on the podium so??
let him be

curled up, died, and now it’s Rottenmoodboard

(other stuff i did for this fic)

In view of recent events, a Korean-speaking friend and I have come up with our rough translation of an Ilgan Sports article. If there’s any errors, please drop me a DM so that I can review what I have written and make the necessary adjustments. In addition, I am not here to pass moral judgement or state whether or not I think he’s guilty. I am just here to present a clearer picture for those who have been confused by the multiple articles. I hope it helps.

All Barça players wear a GPS tracker during pre-season matches to monitor their physical and metabolic condition.

According to sources of SPORT, Messi’s GPS data and parameters were incredible. That had never been seen before in pre-season.

Messi was shining in all categories, kilometres run, acceleration, top speed, speed over 20 metres, aerobic capacity, etc. [Sport]

Shane Kluivert, ex FC Barcelona player Patrick Kluivert’s son who played in the PSG, will join FC Barcelona

The  Kluivert saga  continues at FC Barcelona. According to SPORT,  Shane, the youngest son of legendary former player  Patrick , will start training this week with the club in the Ciutat Esportiva. Shane Kluivert will start the preseason with Barça’s Alevin. He could join us permanently if FIFA approves it.

The Dutchman offered his son to Barça for a trial and the club did not hesitate as he has a lot of quality. Although barely nine years old,  Shane  is already a very media boy. He recently signed a five-year contract with the prestigious Nike firm and became the youngest athlete in the US brand. His father did not hesitate to share it on his Instagram and to be “proud” for what his son had achieved. In addition,  Shane  sweeps into social networks, both Instagram (144K fans) where he shares his life as on YouTube, where he has a channel with more than 45,000 followers who enjoy their lessons in cooking.

NHL Teams Simplified
  • Anaheim Ducks: named after the Mighty Ducks Trilogy. Captain is Getzlaf.
  • Arizona Coyotes: originally the Phoenix, but even more originally the originall Winnipeg Jets, Paul Bissonnette
  • Boston Bruins: pain in the ass to whoever plays them, Ryan Miller has issues with Bruin Milan Lucic
  • Buffalo Sabres: The other part of New York, traded their Olympic goalie
  • Calgary Flames: Iginlaless
  • Carolina Hurricanes: collects Staal brothers who are right handed and play offense
  • Chicago Blackhawks: Probably the closest thing to a dynasty.
  • Colorado Avalanche: oh hot damn, the city is cold, but the players are hot.
  • Columbus Blue Jackets: Got their first playoff win this year.
  • Dallas Stars: Jamie Benn, Tyler Seguin, and the other players
  • Detroit Red Wings: Prefers their players like wine, older
  • Edmonton Oilers: They have so much talent, but can’t get the “W”
  • Florida Panthers: exist.
  • LA Kings: Kings may be a bit exaggerated.
  • Minnesota Wild: Relevance doubled with the addition of Parise and Suter.
  • Montreal Canadiens: are still in the playoffs, it feels like 93’
  • Nashville Predators: Country music, specifically Carrie Underwood.
  • New Jersey Devils: Defense.
  • New York Islanders: leaving the island and heading to Brooklyn, Brooklyn Islanders
  • New York Rangers: Probably the best New York Team
  • Ottawa Senators: Silver Bobby Ryan finally gets away from Gold Gezlaf
  • Philadelphia Flyers: Broad Street Gingers
  • Pittsburgh Penguins: Either you love them or you hate them.
  • San Jose Sharks: Really good regular season team, really unlucky post season team
  • St. Louis Blues: loves America #Miller #Oshie #Backes #Shattenkirk
  • Tampa Bay Lightning: Steven Stamkos is the only relevant player according to NBC Sports.
  • Toronto Maple Leafs: 45 seasons and counting without a cup, Phil Kessel is pretty much to most Canadian American everrr.
  • Vancouver Canucks: Honestly, this team has been changing that I can’t even keep up. I think the Sedins are still there and will never leave.
  • Washington Capitals: 0 stanley cups with Ovechkin
  • Winnipeg Jets: actually, the Atlanta Thrashers

anonymous asked:

yo as someone whos had multiple concussions theres literally no way that sid is healed up enough to play, this is another example of Toxically Masculine Hockey Culture causing a player to rush back out before theyre actually okay, which will only lead to more and more intense injuries and thats why hockey players are typically absolutely destroyed when they finally retire, thats why we have a player that literally died on the ice

so, a few things. first of all, your thoughts as someone who’s had multiple concussions are totally valid. second, i’m certainly not saying he’s ready to play, and i haven’t seen anyone who has, so let’s not argue from that place.

what i AM saying is that according to advancements in sports medicine, active rehabilitation is now encouraged if a person feels they’re up to it. sid assuredly isn’t taking contact, he may not have even been doing drills. he was just skating.

also i’d recommend reading this article from 2011 that talks about sid’s recovery work: http://www.macleans.ca/society/rebuilding-crosbys-brain/ (i’m on mobile, sorry for the ugly link). i’d be surprised if anyone could read that and walk away thinking he doesn’t take this seriously or is reckless about rehabbing. also his rehab during those years has LITERALLY changed the way concussions can be treated, for what it’s worth.

(also the doomsday escalating is like, poor rhetoric. it’s definitely tragic the way concussions have impacted nhl player’s lives and i desperately want their to be better preventative changes, but sid’s rehab is appropriate, and connecting this concussion to head trauma-related deaths isn’t.)

Matthieu / Canada: Hockey (Again, duh)

Commissioners, I’ve been a season pass holder at Yankee Stadium, Yale Bowl and the Giants Stadium.

I missed the ’90-’91 season because I was with a battalion of Marines in Desert Storm. 14 of my wonderful Marines returned home with the American Flag draped across their lifeless bodies. My last conversation with one of them, Sgt. Garrett Mongrella was about how our Giants were going to the Super Bowl. He never got to see it.

Many friends, Marines, and Special Forces Soldiers who worked with or for me through the years returned home with the American Flag draped over their coffins.

Now I watch multi-millionaire athletes who never did anything in their lives but play a game, disrespect what brave Americans fought and died for. They are essentially spitting in the faces and on the graves of real men, men who have actually done something for this country besides playing with a ball and believing they’re something special! They’re not! My Marines and Soldiers were!

You are complicit in this! You’ll fine players for large and small infractions but you lack the moral courage and respect for our nation and the fallen to put an immediate stop to this. Yes, I know, it’s their 1st Amendment right to behave in this way

What would happen if they came out and disrespected you or the refs publicly?

I observed a player getting a personal foul for twerking in the end zone after scoring. I guess that’s much worse than disrespecting the flag and our National Anthem. Hmmmmm, isn’t it his 1st Amendment right to express himself like an idiot in the end zone?

Why is taunting not allowed yet taunting America is OK? You fine players for wearing 9-11 commemorative shoes yet you allow scum on the sidelines to sit, kneel or pump their pathetic fist in the air. They are so deprived with their multi-million dollar contracts for playing a freaking game!

You condone it all by your refusal to act. You’re just as bad and disgusting as they are. I hope Americans boycott any sponsor who supports that rabble you call the NFL. I hope they turn off the TV when any team that allowed this disrespect to occur, without consequence, on the sidelines. I applaud those who have not.

Legends and heroes do NOT wear shoulder pads. They wear body armor and carry rifles

They make minimum wage and spend months and years away from their families They don’t do it for an hour on Sunday. They do it 24/7 often with lead, not footballs, coming in their direction. They watch their brothers carted off in pieces not on a gurney to get their knee iced. They don’t even have ice! Many don’t have legs or arms.

Some wear blue and risk their lives daily on the streets of America . They wear fire helmets and go upstairs into the fire rather than down to safety On 9-11, hundreds vanished. They are the heroes.

I hope that your high paid protesting pretty boys and you look in that mirror when you shave tomorrow and see what you really are, legends in your own minds. You need to hit the road and take those worms with you!

Time to change the channel.

Powers originally sent his letter to former Florida congressman Allen West. West then posted the letter on his news website.

As of last week, at least 18 NFL player had protested the anthem by either kneeling during the anthem or raising their fists, according to USA Today Sports.
