1900-10s Arts & Crafts Abstracted Butterfly Brooch, Copper & Silver and Natural Beetle Shell (sold)
Easily my favorite find in the last few weeks. It combines all of my weaknesses: Arts & Crafts, bugs, iridescence, and copper. It has a maker’s mark on the back that I can’t identify, so if someone out there specializes in American Arts & Crafts jewelry makers, let me know. I got it outside of Chicago, and it’s similar construction to a lot of Chicago Arts & Crafts jewelry, so I’m thinking it was likely made there.
