absolutely zero effort was put into this

I think some people in this fandom have lost all sense.

So far, both Shay and Sasha have been extremely supportive of the Emison ship this year. Emison Endgame shirts came out, they practically talk about these two all of the time, there’s an extremely revealing video showing a kiss/possible engagement at the kissing rock, they’re pushing Emison hard in promotional material for the show and interviewers ask about it constantly.

And yet, some of you took what Shay said waaaaaay too seriously. First of all, why put that much effort into promoting something only for her to derail it with one line? Secondly, there’s been a lot of rumors about an Emison spinoff in the works. While they’re still only rumors, they’re being teased frequently.

Shay seems to get a lot of joy out of trolling the Emison fandom. She has for years. On top of that, there’s absolutely zero benefit to Marlene screwing over one of it’s most enduring fandoms. That’s not how you convince people to move on to your other shows once Pretty Little Liars is done. Something that stupid would destroyed a lot of trust.

There’s a lot to gain from making Emison endgame, but a lot to lose by backpedaling on it in the final episodes. So please, some of you need to calm down. I can certainly understand the panic, God knows we need the win, but let’s not assume the worst.

important things no one remembers about kim seokjin
  1. he came into big hit with absolutely zero singing or dancing experience (unlike all the other members minus v) and had to put in an incredible amount of effort and hard work to meet their level of talent, proving that hard work does pay off and can be just as good as talent.
  2. he spends the allowance he gets from his parents on ingredients. not just for himself; he selflessly uses his own money to make meals for all of the members to enjoy with him.
  3. he’s the one that mediates the group and stops jokes before they go too far. I guarantee you, if seokjin wasn’t in the group, there would probably be a lot more group infighting.
  4. he literally drives jungkook to school. without him jungkook would probably be a highschool dropout tbh
  5. pretty much everyone in bangtan has hinted at some point that he’s the strongest member in the group. if you thought jimin or jungkook was ripped weLL have I got a surprise 4 u
  6. oh, and if u like how jungkook has muscles, just remember he only started working out because he started going with jin to the gym
  7. that one time they asked him his ideal type and he started talking about how much he likes dogs
  8. he literally carries around a spoon and special chopsticks. if that is not the most adorable fucking thing
  9. people always talk about how relatable he is bc of his love for food and his handsomeness, but more important than that is that he’s willing to show himself eating to people - as an idol. He’s one of the few idols that projects a healthy image to everyone, by letting them know it’s okay to eat. he shows that you don’t have to starve yourself to be beautiful (i mean, just look at him !)
  10. he also shows that you are allowed to be confident in your looks. how many times do we hear idols say “oh no…i don’t think i’m handsome” or only say they’re handsome as a joke? jin isn’t afraid to be self-confident and show he has high self-esteem and it’s so important for young people to see and hear and know it’s okay to feel like that.
  11. jin is just such a good and lovely role model (he’s truly hard working, selfless, diplomatic, nurturing, kind, adorable, silly, and mentally and physically healthy) and I wish more people would see and appreciate that about him. let’s all be more like kim seokjin. the world would be a better place

What I like and dislike about each type
  • Warning: I'm very straightforward with this and aim to be as honest as possible. Also, these are my own perceptions and may not be prominent in all individuals of the type so take it with a grain of salt. With that said, you're always free to send anonymous hate mail in my ask box if you're not happy.
  • What I like about ISTPs: You're too cool. How do you do that nonchalant "I'm effortlessly good at everything" -attitude floating around you? You're also so quick to act in sudden situations, your reflexes are excellent.
  • What I dislike about ISTPs: You do care about things so stop pretending you don't. You fool no one and it's embarrassing to watch. Showing some sentiment doesn't equal being weak, everyone else gets that so why don't you?
  • What I like about ESTPs: How do you notice everything? Of all the types, you're possibly the most observant and objective about your observations. I admire your straightforward way of communicating.
  • What I dislike about ESTPs: You're too competitive. For fuck's sake, it's only a game. Grow up and stop throwing temper tantrums whenever someone's better than you at something.
  • What I like about INTPs: How can you know so much about everything? You're like an information sponge who can glance at an issue and take in the most vital parts in two seconds and then move on to something else that's interesting.
  • What I dislike about INTPs: Your passive and cynical attitude towards life borders ridiculous. You don't get to spend your life putting absolutely zero effort into your ambitions and then mope about how your life is wasting away. It doesn't work that way so grow up and start taking some initiative.
  • What I like about ENTPs: You're ridiculously good at brainstorming. If I run into a wall with something, you guys are the people I'd ask for help in order to find a solution outside the box.
  • What I dislike about ENTPs: Learn how to filter your speech at times. Yeah, freedom of speech and all but it doesn't mean you have to pay absolutely zero attention to what you let out of your big mouth. Some jokes are just in bad taste.
  • What I like about INFPs: You're imaginative and mentally very strong. You have no issue to stand up for something you believe in and God help the person who's in your way of setting things right.
  • What I dislike about INFPs: Everyone is not targeting you in particular and criticism is not always voiced solely for the purpose of offending you. Learn not to take everything so damn personally.
  • What I like about ENFPs: You're so much fun to be around. How can your humor be so out there yet spot on? A social gathering without an ENFP is like a bath without bubbles.
  • What I dislike about ENFPs: Pick up after yourself every now and then. I know mess doesn't probably bother you as much as many other types but it's a part of common courtesy not to leave your stuff around for everyone else to clean. It's disgusting.
  • What I like about ISFPs: You're genuinely a warm and interesting person to be around. Your shyness mixed with your observant nature and thirst for new experiences is very charming.
  • What I dislike about ISFPs: Stop being such a doormat. You have a tendency for self-sacrifice, doing things you don't want to do for people who really don't want or need you to do it for them and then wallow in how much you don't want to do it. This is not the Bible and you're not a martyr so grow a backbone.
  • What I like about ESFPs: You're so set on enjoying life to the fullest. How can you turn everything into a fun experience like that? You're so observant and know how to have fun.
  • What I dislike about ESFPs: Learn the meaning of personal space. I know you're genuinely interested in people but if they wish to be left alone, respect that. Plus, don't get so touchy if someone doesn't want to spend time with you every now and then. It doesn't mean they hate you.
  • What I like about ISFJs: How can you have so much compassion? It's like you instinctively understand everyone around you. I admire the way you withhold judgment when dealing with people.
  • What I dislike about ISFJs: Stop being such a worrywart. The world will not fall apart even if you're not there to take care of everything. Your fussiness can be so damn annoying sometimes.
  • What I like about ESFJs: You're the queen bee. How can you be so popular with so little effort? You know how to make friends and how to handle different people. You're so likable it's almost ridiculous.
  • What I dislike about ESFJs: Stop worrying about conflicts so much. It's not the end of the world to be in bad relations with someone. Not everyone will be your friend, learn to live with that.
  • What I like about ISTJs: You're so dependable. It's programmed in your system to work hard and expect little in return. Your loyalty and dedication is moving.
  • What I dislike about ISTJs: You're too judgmental. Don't jump to conclusions so much and learn how to listen to opposing views. They have a point sometimes, you know.
  • What I like about ESTJs: You're no-nonsense and I admire that. You know how to handle matters impersonally and efficiently. You see what needs to be done and do it.
  • What I dislike about ESTJs: You're too bossy sometimes. Stop measuring other people's worth by how well they perform and learn to cut some slack at times.
  • What I like about INTJs: You set a goal and keep pushing until you make it. You're a true achiever and have excellent self-discipline. You know what you want and if you don't know how to get it, you find out.
  • What I dislike about INTJs: Hold back with the superiority complex a bit won't you? There's a difference between being proud of your accomplishments and just being a smug asshole.
  • What I like about ENTJs: You know how to be smooth. You have strong communication skills and people follow you instinctively. You naturally seem like someone who always knows what they're doing.
  • What I dislike about ENTJs: You're too dominant. You can't control everyone and everything and it's really annoying when you try to do that. Also, keep your jealousy in check, other people's achievements are not indicators of your incapability.
  • What I like about INFJs: You have a unique worldview and see connections other people might miss entirely. Even if not religious, you still have this spiritual aura about you.
  • What I dislike about INFJs: Try to get rid of your special snowflake complex. You're not inherently different from everyone else, you're just about the only person who doesn't realize everyone's quirky in their own way and you're not more so than the others.
  • What I like about ENFJs: How can you be such a good mediator? You're like the best person to be in the middle of two people fighting, you know how to help people compromise and live in harmony.
  • What I dislike about ENFJs: Stop the humble bragging. Seriously, I get that you're proud of your good deeds but making sure everyone knows what a good person you are kinda eats away at the authenticity of it all. Plus it's embarrassing.

This shit makes me so mad, not just as a bisexual man, but as a bisexual creator.

Because it wasn’t even a week ago that I talked about a fantasy pilot I’m shopping around town about supernatural teens where the main character was a gay teen boy.

And I got a very well intentioned message about it and how I was likely going to have to make the lead straight if I ever wanted it to have a chance to get picked up by a major network like the CW. And they follow me and know I’m referencing them lol and please know I’m not trying to call you out or anything, because their message was never the problem.

The problem was they’re not wrong. Like, I’m well aware of how this town works, and the limitations it puts on creative content including marginalized characters, let alone REVOLVING around such characters. I’m well aware of how every creative industry is about that, and how audiences and readers are about that.

Even in industries that are supposedly actively seeking out diverse works by marginalized creators, there are still limitations, still quotas. Yeah, the YA publishing industry wants books about teens of color and various sexual orientations, but not TOO many. Trust me, I know. For every book that gets accepted for having a gay lead character, there’s another book that gets rejected because that publishing imprint already has a ‘big’ book coming out with a gay lead character and there’s such a thing as too many of those as far as publishing is concerned. And so every time I see a book getting published by a major imprint about gay characters that isn’t written by a gay author? It fucking hurts, because I know damn well just HOW MANY talented gay writers there are out there desperate to get their stories boosted to wider audiences, marketed by a major publisher….they just got there too late, their spot had already been given away.

I’ve shopped scripts in Hollywood. I’ve had pitch meetings, I’ve sat with people who have the power to buy my scripts and boost them to the next level. And you wanna know what note I get over and over? Too many LGBT+ characters. There’s just too many in my stuff.

There’s something so deeply fucked up and insidious about industries and atmospheres that don’t even bat an eye or show the slightest bit of awareness while telling marginalized creators to limit how much of themselves they pour into their work.

These people, to my face, have made it perfectly clear - they WANT my stories, they WANT my imagination, they WANT my writing….they just don’t want it to look or sound too much like ME, the person behind the story, the person who dreamed it up…..because apparently that just makes it too damn hard to market it to anyone who isn’t just like me.

Since I was a kid, I’ve heard it over and over - you want better representation, make it yourself. And its like yo, fuckwads, we’re fucking TRYING over here. But even when we do, you keep putting limits on it, or telling us you only had the budget to give one or two stories about marginalized characters a chance and oh wait, you already spent that money on straight white men telling these stories for us.

Except those stories? Not written by us? That’s how you end up with the homophobic version of MISERY, with tons of visibility and all the things actual LGBT+ creators would kill to have for their stories about LGBT+ characters….and its not just that the story exists. Its not just the knowledge that something that fucking eroticizes homophobic torture porn has thousands of fans. It’s the awareness that the visibility of THAT piece of work actually detracts from the visibility of actual LGBT+ creators’ work, because hate to say it, but marginalized works ARE still very much a zero sum game.

And to be perfectly clear, its not that you have to be of a specific identity to write a realistic representation of that identity. No, that’s an excuse that people who don’t want to put in the work to do just that love to fall back on, but like. Research. Educate yourself. Put in the time. Put in the effort. You can absolutely represent anyone realistically.

The problem with marginalized works being created primarily by people of non-marginalized identities isn’t in their ABILITY to represent non straight white male identities realistically. The problem is with PRIORITIES.

Because guess what? I’m greedy. I don’t just want to see more bisexual characters on TV. I don’t just want to see a realistic depiction of someone like me, if that means they’re just as likely to get hurt or abused or killed off like the straight characters there just so happen to be twenty replacements for, already to go, just waiting in the wings.

If that was all that mattered, like, I’d sink my money into making a Where’s Waldo book with a gay or bi character on every page and just print those up and hand them out on street corners.

But realistic representation is great and all, but its still not the only thing. There’s nothing realistic about decades and decades of stories where it just so happens that coincidentally, the straight white male character always gets what he wants out of the story even as the black character dies first, the gay character sleeps around but never finds true love, and the disabled character is inspirational, but not much else.

No, representation isn’t just about being able to point at the screen and go, there I am, that’s me, he’s just like me. It’s about getting to see characters like you get everything the other characters get.

It’s about seeing the gay and bi characters get to be the heroes, to save the universe. To be put in life-threatening situations and ESCAPE in spite of the odds, to live to fight another day. To have love triangles and options instead of being paired up with the only other gay character onscreen by default. THAT is what true representation is. Anything less than what straight white audiences take for granted is still just half-assing it.

And as for marginalized works still being a zero sum game, well, you can tell me they’re not, that there’s plenty of room for everyone. The internet is a big place. Yup, yup. It is. Its so big, in fact, that shockingly enough, things like funding and budgets and marketing departments and publisher backing and corporate sponsorship and name recognition all make a difference between you producing content that people can find and enjoy and boost and you just shouting into the void.

Don’t tell me that marginalized works aren’t a zero sum game when I have literally sat in meetings with people who are perfectly conciliatory when explaining that sorry, this is just the way the world/industry/game works.

I mean, don’t get me wrong. This is just me ranting, this isn’t me saying anything that any and all marginalized creators don’t already know for themselves and its certainly not going to do anything to change the minds or priorities of the people who have the most power to do something about this in the shortest span of time.

I know this is essentially me shouting sour grapes into the void. And yeah, I’m perfectly aware that the grapes here are very sour, that I am absolutely 100% bitter about seeing works with shit or even actively harmful marginalized representation get prioritized over the works of actual marginalized creators when it comes to resources, visibility, acclaim.

But just cuz I’m bitter while I’m saying it, doesn’t make what I’m saying untrue.

hey! so I just read the latest chapter of gaf au and I saw that Lexa was Iranian and just seeing that made me so happy!! I'm Iranian too and it's not often that I see someone make a character Iranian by choice. I was wondering, since Nowruz (Iranian New Year) wasn't too long ago, could you possibly write a short drabble of Lexa celebrating? Maybe with Clarke?

she talks with her parents and her little brother for close to an hour—it’s already morning in tehran, very early morning but it is, and they are going to visit lexa’s grandparents and then make their way around to the rest of their family and friends so they have to get an early start.

what if aliens arrive on earth but they are like really lame, absolutely uninterested in people or communicating with them, they came for this really specific breed of pine, put zero effort in hiding their landing, were gone the day they arrived, we never hear about them again

lilya baranovskaya is my fav

this tough russian lady is my absolute fav

first of, what she says to yurio in the beginning is my top inspirational quote ever, and this is coming from a sarcastic af person

THROW. YOURSELF. AWAY.

“Your past self is dead. People who can be reborn as many times as necessary are the strong ones”.

Gah, I wish I had someone to tell me that, in that ‘take absolutely no crap’ tone of voice, at key points in my life. I’d have got up, dusted myself off and walked off with a new spring in my step and like, steel in my bones.

But just consider the fact that she genuinely CARED enough for Yurio and his performance to take him into her own home, along with her ex husband no less!, and put in so much effort to help this angry kitten restart from zero, while showing absolutely NIL ToLERANCE for his BULLSHIT and ATTITUDE and cutting him no slack.

Not that I really believe that Yurio showed much of his usual attitude when he was in her presence.

Beyond his first ‘Who’s this hag?’ reaction, I’m sure soon enough he was all like:

When watching Yurio’s SP performance, she doesn’t comment on his flubbed jumps - that’s her ex-husband’s domain, technique - hers is the artistic side. She is satisfied and appreciative that Yurio has learned enough from her to preserve his beautiful interpretation to the very end, despite his technical failures.

Yes he does; because you taught him that.

Gosh, how is everything this woman says so inspirational.

While watching Yurio’s impressive FS performance, this badass Russian lady who looks like she hasn’t smiled or let her hair down (literally) since Gorbachev’s reign, breaks down into quiet sobs, while Yakov just pats her softly like ‘I know, Lilia, I know. SAME.’

…I was crying in this episode way before the Victuri hug happened.

Heck, she’s showing more emotion than his grandpa and the people clapping next to him who I suppose are Yurio’s parents (?), one of them being the Plushenko lookalike. Lilia is genuinely moved to tears by the work of art that she helped create.

NOW. Hold on to your attire because this is where I put forth the argument that not only is Lilia awesome and badass, but she’s also a prophetess among mere mortals.

I’m glad you said it, because yes. That’s what I always want to say when I look at Yurio but can’t find my words.

“Strength means nothing without beauty”

THESE ARE PROPHETIC WORDS

They have to be.

Because what is the ONE (1) thing JJ has that Yurio and Yuuri do not have?

That’s right, brute strength!

At the end of their FS, having given it all, Yuuri and Yurio are similarly exhausted.

But remember  - strength is not ENOUGH to win.

It will never be enough.

Not in figure skating anyway!

Lilya Baranovskaya knows her shit - she’s seen it all, and she has spoken~

Pairing: Sasuhina

Hinata watched as Sasuke leapt off from one rooftop to another till he was completely gone.

She stared at the paper in her hand and tried her very best to stop herself from shaking from the amount of shock and confusion that had consumed her within that short period.

Swallowing, she slowly opened the letter.

In the preview for next week, Oliver says there are no lengths he wouldn't go to avenge Laurel. And honestly Jen I'm so over this. Where was this passion when felicity was hurt? Why are the writers making Lauriver a thing when she's dead and they didn't even interact much for two seasons?! I feel like they're just shitting on Olicity now. If they wanted this undying Lauriver love why didn't they just do it when she was alive? It's dumb.

Well the Arrow writers have a history of telling and not showing when it comes to Laurel Lance and Oliver. Meaning what they say about the character and the relationship isn’t actually backed up by actions on the show. This is par for the course and they aren’t going to suddenly shift in the wake of Laurel’s death. The real reason there’s more telling and not showing is because the writers didn’t want to put the effort into Laurel’s character and her relationship with Oliver. They are all talk but no action because there’s just zero fucks given. It’s been that way for a looooooooong time. One of the many reasons they killed her.

Oliver absolutely had the same passion over Felicity’s injury. He was in such a rage that he was beating the streets to a pulp. We’re not seeing Oliver fly off the handle like that. He’s controlled. Somebody killed a family member and he’s gonna take them down, but Oliver isn’t crippled by Laurel’s death. In fact… he’s functioning the best out of everyone.

That was NOT the case when Felicity was shot.

He was shell shocked. Numb. This couldn’t be happening because there is no world without her. He can’t conceive of it. This is not the image of a man coping well with what is happening. He couldn’t even process what was happening he was so scared. He was in shock.

Oliver couldn’t bring himself to even go to the hospital because of the reality of what happened to Felicity. The extent of her injuries and how close he came to losing her EMOTIONALLY paralyzed Oliver. When Oliver Queen shuts down, when he retreats, that’s when he’s hurting the WORST.

That’s not what is happening here with Laurel. He’s not shutting down. He’s not compartmentalizing. Yes, he’s sad but in general Oliver is doing pretty damn okay. So that gives you a clear idea of where Laurel ranks in emotional importance to him. In truth those actions DO match up to the relationship the writers portrayed between Laurel and Oliver.

A Series of UnFinished Fics: Part 5

Pairing:  Jason/Nico, Onesided Apollo/Nico

Description:  Apollo convinces Nico to go on five dates with him. This is actually finished, for once, but makes the list because it’s got absolutely zero effort put into it. The whole thing came out of a conversation with kingburu, and was meant to be a complete joke, though it didn’t turn out as funny as I wanted it to. I might give the pairing another go at some point, because I find it hilarious.

EDIT: Also posted on AO3

Finding flowers on the doorstep to the Hades cabin had been a surprise. Nico assumed it was some kind of joke, and that he as the son of death was the punchline, though the red tulips were an odd choice. Then Nico found the card attached  them.

I always really wanted to be one of those girls with their hair all mussed up who looked good with what looked like absolutely zero effort. The girl who didn’t have to straighten her hair or put on tons of make-up or wear something tight-fitting to look beautiful. I don’t think I became one of those girls. Maybe I always was and couldn’t see it, or maybe those girls don’t even exist and they’re just something we create in our heads as a result of the way we’re always so cruel to ourselves and think such negative thoughts. Either way I learned loving myself. I’ve never been happier and I don’t even know why I wrote this entire thing instead of just writing something about selfies and shit, but I guess what I’m getting at is I hope you guys’ll get this feeling because you’re all beautiful and you all deserve to feel good about yourselves. We try so hard to look a certain way when in reality it’s more about getting comfortable in our own skin and being happy where we are. I really hope that you guys find that some day, because it’s a great feeling and you all deserve it.

Ok, I need to rant, so sorry about that. Anyway, Syndicate has just been announced and I’m already aboard the hype train :D But what I wanted to talk about was Unity. And I suppose this applies more broadly to the whole series as well.

About the Ava's Demon Drama

Nah man, real talk: if you base your entire blog or life to “critiquing” people’s work that they put a whole load of effort into and nitpicking at every single god damn thing, you are the literal scum of the earth.

How would you like it if someone basically pulled apart something you worked incredibly hard on and showed the whole world how bad it is because of the apparent mistakes you made.

That isn’t “critiquing”, you’re using that term wrong in order to cover up your nastiness. You are beating down someone’s confidence to absolute zero because you think that it is your duty to do so, and that people want to see that.

The comments being made by these white knights trying to safeguard the identities of aromantic/asexual etc are idiotic and childish, but they have also been seen as incredibly hurtful and that’s not okay.

Not everyone is aware of the different genders, sexualities, kin-types and other such things. That’s not them being transphobic, homophobic, purposefully ignorant or any of those words you decide to call them.

The ideas of gender, sexuality, kin and such is personally just a grey pool for me, there are so many of them and honestly I don’t blame some people if they don’t know what some of them are? But if they are willing to research into it and educate themselves on these topics, then that’s the end of discussion and at least they were kind enough to offer to do that on their own accord.

Ava’s Demon is a fantastic comic, and shows the reality of what it is like having “inner demons” and mental disorders/illnesses and what people actually feel like in real life. People can relate to the characters and the ideas of the characters, and that’s what makes it so special.

What I’ve said here does not only apply to Ava’s Demon, it applies to every piece of work made by every person who put their heart and soul into it, who doesn’t deserve to be treated in such a disrespectful and disgusting manner.

If you don’t like the comic, then turn your sorry self around and go find somewhere else to be negative. Nobody likes people who are negative and mean, go find something you like which makes you happy instead of devoting yourself to just being downright nasty and pointing out “mistakes” in someone else’s work.

Your life, my life, all of our lives are so short and you’re wasting it on pessimism and making someone’s life a misery? Go out and do something better with your life, the whole world is your damn oyster and all you’ve been doing is trying to count every grain of sand on a beach.

To Michelle, I hope you find a more stress-free and safer environment on Twitter. We all wish you the best and hope you feel better soon, and we are all behind you 110%.

That is all.

Pen Sketch Friday

You can tell exactly where I put in the most effort and where I put in absolutely zero effort. Also I can never get Jeremy Brett’s mouth right I swear it’s the most difficult thing to do even with corrections let alone with pen
