On this morning’s Today programme, Tory MP Owen Paterson said that as part of its coalition agreement with the Democratic Unionist Party, the May government will introduce a bill to reduce the term limit on abortions.
Not only is this government willing to openly violate the Good Friday agreement (which requires the Westminster government to be a neutral arbitrator in Northern Ireland), but it’s also perfectly happy to use women’s bodies as a bargaining chip for its own clutching on to power.
This may be a little far-stretched, but I believe “pro-life” groups should be categorized as terrorist groups.
No matter how peaceful they may be, pro-lifers terrorize American women (people with uteruses - for the sake of simplicity I will be using PWU in this post) by either using physical force or psychological abuse such as manipulation, intimidation, and blatant lies. They work off of vulnerable PWU, pretend to take them in and care for them, while they really strip them of all bodily autonomy and choice, guilting them into carrying to term and giving them false medical information.
In addition, they are trying to pass laws that could be viewed as a security threat to people of our nation (I’m talking within the US only). If abortion is criminalized, it will become a national security threat to PWU all around the nation (and maybe in other countries as well). We will see death rates go up, whether it be through childbirth or back-alley abortions. The pro-life movement, with what they’re advocating, WANTS this.
If you look at all the facts, anti-choice groups are TERROR groups.
When I was eighteen, I drove a friend of mine to another state for her abortion. A few months later, that clinic was burned to the ground.
When I was twenty, someone placed a live pipe bomb in front of the clinic I worked at. We evacuated our patients and staff in time. The perpetrator is now serving a forty-year prison sentence.
When I was twenty-one, my tires were slashed in my workplace parking spot, along with those of my colleagues.
When I was twenty-two, Dr. Tiller was murdered in his house of worship, and I could think of nothing but the patients who had appointments to see him the following day.
When I was twenty-five, someone called the abortion funding hotline I volunteered for under the guise of needing assistance. She was not who she claimed to be. My phone was traced, and I was soon barraged with anti-choice literature by mail and at my doorstep.
Now I am twenty-eight. I am a veteran in the field of abortion care. I am accustomed to being yelled at by protesters. I know all the tactics I’m supposed to employ to keep myself and my property under wraps and to protect the identity of my patients. I am intimately familiar with all aspects of this debate from all sides.
It does not make it any less shocking to me when anti-choice violence occurs. It does not make me any less angry to read about what’s happening in Colorado Springs.
Do me a favor. I don’t care where you sit on the issue of abortion, but please, please send up a prayer or a positive thought for the people in that clinic today. I have been in the shoes of my colleagues at PPRM before, in the position of having your personal safety endangered simply for offering help. There aren’t words to describe how terrible I feel for the clinicians, staff, and especially the patients there today. No matter how you feel about abortion, I hope we can all agree that they didn’t deserve to be victims of anti-choice terrorism.
Operation Save America came to EMW clinic on Saturday.
They sat down in front of the door to block access to the clinic. They were removed by police. This is the first time this tactic has been used since the late 80′s early 90′s “Summer of Mercy” in Witchita, KS.
This behavior is going to continue. These people are terrorists
These people want to replace the current structure of law and replace it with a religious based one.
Last night, a shooter entered a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado,
killing at least 3 and injuring several others. Acts of violence at
reproductive health clinics must stop. Clinic violence is domestic
terrorism. Sign the petition and tell the Department of Justice to
investigate clinic violence: http://nar.al/4ei
*terrorize patients outside clinics* *destroy clinics* *murder doctors and clinic employees* *ban abortion after ___ weeks* *force abortion providers to lie to patients* *mandate ultrasounds and waiting periods* *shut down or defund family planning centers* *intimidate and legislate abortion providers out of existence* *found organizations with the express intent of lying to and manipulating people considering abortion*
If pro-choicers support all choices, then why do you only talk about abortion?
They are so pathologically committed being non-violent that they would probably not even defend themselves against deadly force.

Now lets look at reality shall we?
AMERICAN MURDERS BY PRO LIFE
•March 10, 1993: Dr. David Gunn of Pensacola, Florida was fatally shot during a protest
•July 29, 1994: Dr. John Britton and James Barrett, a clinic escort, were both shot to death outside another facility, the Ladies Center, in Pensacola. Rev. Paul Jennings Hill was charged with the killings.
•December 30, 1994: Two receptionists, Shannon Lowney and Lee Ann Nichols, were killed in two clinic attacks in Brookline, Massachusetts
•January 29, 1998: Robert Sanderson, an off-duty police officer who worked as a security guard at an abortion clinic in Birmingham, Alabama, was killed when his workplace was bombed. Eric Robert Rudolph, who was also responsible for the 1996 Centennial Olympic Park bombing, was charged with the crime and received two life sentences as a result.
•October 23, 1998: Dr. Barnett Slepian was shot to death with a high-powered rifle at his home in Amherst, New York.
•May 31, 2009: Dr. George Tiller was shot and killed by Scott Roeder as Tiller served as an usher at a church in Wichita, Kansas
•August 19, 1993: Dr. George Tiller was shot outside of an abortion facility in Wichita, Kansas.
•July 29, 1994: June Barret was shot in the same attack which claimed the lives of James Barrett, her husband, and Dr. John Britton.
•December 30, 1994: Five individuals were wounded in the shootings which killed Shannon Lowney and Lee Ann Nichols.

Arson,bombing, and property crime!
“According to NAF, since 1977 in the United States and Canada, property crimes committed against abortion providers have included 41 bombings, 173 arsons, 91 attempted bombings or arsons, 619 bomb threats, 1630 incidents of trespassing, 1264 incidents of vandalism, and 100 attacks with butyric acid”
•September 30, 2000: John Earl, a Catholic priest, drove his car into the Northern Illinois Health Clinic after learning that the FDA had approved the drug RU-486.
•December 12, 2005: Patricia Hughes and Jeremy Dunahoe threw a Molotov cocktail at a clinic in Shreveport, Louisiana. T
•September 11, 2006 David McMenemy of Rochester Hills, Michigan, crashed his car into the Edgerton Women’s Care Center in Davenport, Iowa. He then doused the lobby in gasoline and started a fire. McMenemy committed these acts in the belief that the center was performing abortions; however, Edgerton is not an abortion clinic.
•January 1, 2012 Bobby Joe Rogers, 41, firebombed the American Family Planning Clinic in Pensacola, Florida, with a Molotov cocktail; the fire gutted the building. Rogers told investigators that he was motivated to commit the crime by his opposition to abortion, and that what more directly prompted the act was seeing a patient enter the clinic during one of the frequent anti-abortion protests there. The clinic had previously been bombed at Christmas in 1984 and was the site of the murder of Dr. John Britton and James Barrett in 1994.
And that’s JUST America. Hell, I had to leave so many arson cases out. There’s still dozens of examples from Australia and Canada and other countries.
Clinic Invasion, Pensacola, FL, 1986 (Storify by @Nartist)
In 1986, members of the Pro-Life Action Network, led by Joe Scheidler, attacked Pensacola Ladies Center employees and trashed the clinic. Eight years later, in that same city, an abortion provider and his bodyguard would be murdered, the first of four doctors to be killed by anti-abortion extremists.
According to the National Abortion Federation, who has been compiling statistics on incidents of violence and disruption against abortion providers for nearly 40 years:
Since 1993, 8 clinic workers — 4 doctors, 2 clinic employees, a clinic escort, and a security guard — have been murdered in the United States.
17 attempted murders of clinic workers occurred since 1991.
Over 6,900 reported acts of violence against abortion providers since 1977, including bombings, arsons, death threats, and assaults.
19,000+ reported acts of disruption, including bomb threats, hate mail, and harassing calls since 1977.
Let’s call this what it is: domestic terrorism. We cannot wait until one more doctor, nurse, or clinic escort is killed before we say “enough is enough.” The time is now for an investigation by the Department of Justice. Sign the petition!
