RIP James, your music is what made me change my views about music as a whole. From movies to tv shows to opera to popular music on the radio. Your composition in Titanic and Perfect Storm will always be a favorite of mine. Thanks to you I appreciate composers in a different way such as Hans Zimmer, Mark Isham, and so many more. Thank You for sharing such a beautiful talent to the world. You will be greatly missed. Your music will forever live on🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 #RIPJamesHorner#JamesHorner#ThankYou#Music#Composer#Avatar#Braveheart#Titanic#ThePerfectStorm#Casper#Troy#Dinosaur#Jumanji#AnAmericanTail#ABeautifulMind#Aliens#MaskofZorro

So saddened to hear about the loss of James Horner. When I started collecting soundtracks in the late ‘70s as a teen, he was one of the “young guys” compared to my favorites Jerry Goldsmith, John Williams, John Barry, and Ennio Morricone. I was aware of his work with films like THE HAND, WOLFEN, BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS, and HUMANOIDS FROM THE DEEP. The first James Horner score I bought, where he really grabbed my attention, was STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN. After that, I was a fan with his scores to BRAINSTORM, GORKY PARK, 48 HRS., COMMANDO, COCOON, THE JOURNEY OF NATTY GANN, STAR TREK III: THE SEARCH FOR SPOCK, and especially, Ray Bradbury’s SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES, which is my all-time favorite James Horner score (from my favorite novel). Horner’s score captured the spirit of Bradbury’s autumnal, dark carnival novel perfectly even if the film adaptation did not. Some of his later scores like THE PELICAN BRIEF, MIGHTY JOE YOUNG, VIBES, LEGENDS OF THE FALL, and ALIENS all became favorites. He had a range and knew how to stir the soul. Though he’ll mostly be remembered as the film composer for A BEAUTIFUL MIND, AVATAR, BRAVEHEART, and especially, TITANIC, it was his early scores that moved me and realized that film goers and soundtrack collectors had another maestro in their presence in those early days. My last young adult novel was written mostly to James Horner scores because I wanted to capture that feeling of the early 1980s like few composers could. Rest in Peace, James Horner. You will be missed. Thank you for your cinematic voice. So immensely sad to hear the news that we lost the legendary film composer James Horner in a plane crash today. I have been such a devoted fan of his work since childhood and have drawn to countless of his film soundtracks over the years. A tragic loss. #rip #JamesHorner #Braveheart #Aliens #Avatar #Titanic #aBeautifulMind #StarTrek2 #2many2name #inspirational #ripjameshorner by jscottcampbellart https://instagram.com/p/4QgzMjCzJx/

It’s sooo fascinating!!! #danbrown #johngrisham #abeautifulmind #books #booklovers . (at Freedom Institute.)
