The sun beamed from high in the sky, overlooking the beautiful, green park you were at. You were walking your puppy who was full of life and bounced around, overwhelmed with the amount of space she had to run around. You chuckled each time she brought you another stick to throw, only to lose it and get you another one.

While you sat on the grass, you watched as Maggie played around, hoping she wouldn’t stray too far from you. A smile came to your face when you saw a precious little girl approach your puppy, bubbles of laughter escaping her tiny mouth.

The little girl began to throw sticks as far as she could, which wasn’t very far, but it was more than enough for Maggie to use up her energy. Next of all, the dog was running back to you, and the little girl followed in fits of giggles.

“Hi, there,” you greeted in a kind voice, a wide smile at your lips. “That’s Maggie,” you said, motioning towards the puppy. “What’s your name?”

“Ally,” she said, a nervous smile on her face. She was just beautiful, with light brown curls and greenish-brown eyes. She couldn’t have been more than four years old.

“Where are your mom and dad, Ally?”

“I don’t have a mom, my dad’s over there,” she replied, pointing towards a bench on which you could see a man sitting, staring right at you. From what you could see, a fair few feet away, he was gorgeous. You just wished he’d come over. “Do you want me to get him?”

“Uh– I–”

Before you knew it, Ally was waving her arms around excitedly and the man, her dad, was walking towards you. Boy, were you right in thinking he was gorgeous– he was more than that. He was stunning and perfect, not to mention young, something you also were, and his daughter looked just like him. He was broad and toned, tall, with tan skin, hazel eyes and light brown curls that sat effortlessly to the side of his forehead.

“I’m sorry if she’s bothering you,” the man chuckled, his voice smooth and deep, like chocolate. You were simply perplexed by him.

“Not at all,” you barely got out, rising to your feet in order to have a proper conversation with the man. “She’s gorgeous.” Ally and Maggie were off playing again, a perfect duo.

“She’s a lot of work,” he admitted. “I’m Grayson.”

“(Y/N). It’s nice to meet you, Grayson. You might wanna think about getting Ally a dog, it looks like she loves Maggie more than me.”

“Maybe you’re right. She might prefer to see Maggie more often, though.”

For a moment you weren’t sure what he meant, then you remembered Ally saying she didn’t have a mom– that was when you realised that he was flirting with you.

“Maggie would love to see Ally more often,” you grinned.
