As a bona fide crazy cat lady it was only so long until I was compelled to make a cute kitty of some kind. I’ve previously made Luna and Artemis dolls in the Pokemon style, but wanted to do something with a bit more of an animal shape. I had a custom order last year for a cat character that gave me the perfect oppurtunity!

Meet Ser Pounce-a-Lot! The original custom order had tiny little armour as well, but this is just the plain ol’ cat version, since it’s a little less time consuming. I also remade Luna and Artemis using the same style, and am thinking about trying out a Jiji next!

This pattern is super simple, though sometimes creating the small tube-like legs and tail can be a bit of a pain. Find the pattern below the cut!

Curse: “But Nobody Came”

A curse meant to isolate a target and make their lives a living nightmare. Not to be used lightly.

What you’ll need:

  • Clay, wax or cloth to make a poppet
  • A taglock of your target; if a personal effect of theirs isn’t available, a slip of paper with their name will suffice.
  • Dandelion root to “leave a bitter taste in their mouth” if they’ve wronged you
  • Hot pepper seeds to bind them to the energy of this curse
  • Five lengths of string, yarn or twine. Be sure to use different color strings to effect different areas in their life, unless you want to target one specific area.
  • A large bowl of cold water.
  • Black ink
  • A pair of scissors

What to do:

  1. Make your poppet. If you’re using wax or clay to do so, mix the herbs and the taglock into the wax or clay. If you’re using cloth, stuff it with the herbs and the taglock before sewing the head shut.
  2. Find a corner in which to cast the spell, preferably in a spare room.
  3. Measure and cut the strings accordingly, and charge each one with your intent.
  4. Tie the string/yarn/twine to the arms, legs, and neck of your poppet, envisioning the different aspects of the life of the target. Using clear tape, suspend the poppet in the corner using the strings so it looks like it’s laying in the air.
  5. Prepare the bowl of water by charging it with the energy of the void as you add the black ink. Place the bowl under the poppet.
  6. Take your scissors and cut the strings, one by one. As you cut them, say: “As I cut this (first, second, third, fourth, final) string, I remove you from (your friends, your family, etc.).”
  7. As the poppet falls into the water, envision the hell that awaits them in the coming days/weeks/months. Say: “As you fell into the void, you called out for help. But nobody came.”
  8. After the curse is cast, carefully fish out the poppet and take it to someplace where it won’t be bothered. Dispose of the materials in an appropriate matter, and do a thorough cleansing of the area as well as yourself.

Marinette had been quiet for a few minutes now, giving him a deadpan stare that made Chat very nervous. He didn’t miss the cookie platter she held, and his mouth began to water at the amazing smell wafting from them…but now probably wasn’t the right time.

“Okay…I know you’re probably mad,” he began, attempting to sheepishly raise his hands in defense…but he couldn’t really lift them from where they were tangled to his legs. Stupid ball of yarn… “…But in my defense, you just left it lying there! Did you really think this was going to end any other way?”

Marinette stared at him for a few more seconds…and then she sighed.

“Honestly…I should have known better,” she admitted, shaking her head as she set down the cookie platter and went to her desk, rummaging around within it until she withdrew a pair of scissors. “You have a penchant for trouble, chaton.

“…Do I still get cookies?”

“We’ll see.”

Test project with some leftover yarn. These are leg warmers/boot toppers for YoSD (can be worn either ribbing or picot edge up), that coincidentally also double as SD/SD13 arm warmers/mitts.

Of course, this means I’ll have to add arm warmers (+ mittens + gloves…?) to my already-too-long design queue. Oh well. I’m stupidly excited about the possibility of tiny thumb gussets… n_n;;

Ever since Chat Noir started showing up later in the evenings Marinette found herself lacking time to create. She loved having him around, really, but he could be very distracting even when he wasn’t trying to be. As it was she was currently working on a little something for Alya and wasn’t really surprised when Chat’s hand pawed at her leg.

She did however sigh.

“You know you’re not actually a cat right?” She rolled her eyes.

“Meow?” Chat gave her his most innocent look with his hand behind his back. His other hand made a small pawing motion in the air.

Shi sighed again.

Marinette just went back to working. She needed to get this done in time for Alya’s birthday and it was next week. That gave her almost no time to get it done. When Chat started pawing her again she found herself glaring at the superhero.

Chat pouted at her, like she was in the wrong, and she actually started feeling sorry for the stupid cat.

She groaned as she tried to think of way to get him to leave her alone long enough to finish Alya’s present.

Her eyes darted around her room as she sought a distraction. Her eyes lit up. If he wanted to act like a cat she might as well treat him like one.

Chat blinked as she dropped the ball of bright pink yarn right in front of his face. He sent her an incredibly dubious look as if to say ‘You really expect me to play with this?’ Marinette, in turn, just went back to her work.

The boy pouted at her as he considered the ball of yarn. He pawed at it as he had Marinette’s leg earlier. As it rolled to his right he pawed it again hoping to move it back and forth. Instead his claws entangled themselves in the yarn.

He frowned as he tried to get them out. He put his other hand on the ball and tried to pull his claws out. He pulled as hard as he could before groaning as he fell onto his back.

“Uh oh.” He murmured quietly.

His other claw was stuck now too. He glanced around the room for anyway to get his them unstuck. He stared at Marinette for a moment before his eyes continued on. Better not to bother her again.

He shuffled over to the ladder leading up to her bed and wrapped what yarn he could around it. He stood and started to pull as hard as he could. Some of the yarn unraveled as he pulled leading him to continually walk backwards as it did. He legs soon found Marinette’s chaise which he ungracefully tripped over.

“Can you just be quite for a couple more minutes Chat?” Marinette asked as she head the loud thump.

“Sure.” Chat said from behind her chaise. His butt was in the air as he stared upside down at her wall. He sighed as he attempted to get up. This was made far harder by the fact that the yarn had somehow wrapped around the rails on her chaise as well.

Instead of continuing trying to untangle all of the mess he tried to pull his claws away from each other. If he could just get one of his claws back maybe he could do something about the rest. As he pulled harder one of his hands came free. Without the benefit of something holding him up he managed to flip onto his back.

He blinked when he realized his other claw was also free.

“What in the world Chat?!” Marinette gaped at him. “How in the world did you manage to get yarn everywhere?”

She looked around in wonder at the pink yarn wrapped around her ladder and chaise. Chat finished off the ensemble by being practically tied up in the stuff as he sat behind her chaise. She pinched the bridge of her nose.

“I’m going to clean this up. Please stop acting like a cat for a minute and help me.”

Said cat pouted at her. She did her best to ignore how adorable he looked covered in her yarn. Maybe giving him the yarn had been worth it anyway. Flushing slightly the girl quickened her pace as Chat started helping her.

“I didn’t really mean to waste all your yarn.” His voice was small.

“What?” Marinette shook her head. “I wanted you to have fun with it Chat. That’s why I gave it to you.” She smiled at him.

He smiled back at her as the stood in the middle of her room.

“Well if you’re so sure I’d be happy to be your cat anytime princess.” He winked.

As her face flushed Marinette quickly turned her head to hide it.

Chat chuckled.

“At least I wasn’t bored.” He prodded her with the tip of his claw.

“Right!” She squeaked.

“Right. So you want to play some games?” Chat asked somewhat enjoying this side of Marinette.

“O-of course.”

They had fun playing games for the rest of the evening. Marinette continued blushing and actually lost a couple rounds. Chat couldn’t figure out why though.

I am feeling very honored, that so many crocheters like my socks. I was asked for the pattern. But unfortunately i made them freestyle. To make you happy and to thank you for your compliments I tried to write down what I did. So here is my first own pattern (without to many mistakes I hope).


- I used a 5mm hook. In UK it is a 6 and in US it is a 8/H
- My footsize is 38 (or 7,5 US)
- I used one skein of Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable, Color Stained Glass for both socks
- I crochet tight

Toes and length of the foot are crocheted in rounds. Not continious rounds but rather like this:

Join last and first stitch of the round with a sl st. Chain 1, sc (toe) or hdc (footlength) in same stitch and then continue to crochet sc or hdc. Repeat joining every round.


- Start with a magic ring with 7 sc
- Increase every sc (=14)
- Increase every sc like this

- Repeat, until you reached 18sc, sl st, turn
- Chain 1, sc in every sc, sl st, turn (=18sc)
- Repeat, until you have 16 stitches on the footlength left (16 + 18 = 34 stitches)
- Then do 9 sl st to the middle of the heel
- Chain 1, hdc in same stitch, 33 hdc (=34), sl st in first stitch of the round
- Chain 1, Decrease 2 hdc (=32), sl st
- Cut yarn, but leave enough to sew foot and leg together


- Chain 31 (Attention: following sc in the bumps of the back of the crocheted chain)
- Sc in No. 30, 29 sc (=30)
- Chain 1, 30 sc in backloops only
- Repeat 43 times
- Turn your work and sew beginning chain with the last round together
- Make a little sc border like this: Chain 1, sc in same stitch, 2 sc in next stitch, repeat 1 sc / 2 sc until you reach the first sc (=33sc)
- Finish with sl st in first stitch of the round
- Cut yarn and sew it in


Turn foot and leg inside out, connect both, sew yarn ends in. Turn outside in, finished. :)

What a Train Wreck

Imagine pocket-sized you zip lining on a piece of yarn from your dollhouse onto the coffee table. You slid down the leg of the table and sped away in Taehyung’s car. You stopped at the toy train tracks and got out of the car. Your mini Kumamon doll was tied to the tracks and your heart sped as you turned your head to see the toy train speeding its way over to you and your doll.

You quickly untied the yarn and pushed Kumamon out of harm’s way, but the train was now headed straight for you.

You heard your name being called from both sides of you. Yoongi was on your right and Hoseok was on your left, beckoning you to jump into their hands for safety. You looked left, right, and straight again, seeing the train coming in fast. You breathed….

The train passed. Your eyes were closed, hugging to a finger as tight as you could, trying to get over your racing heart.

You looked up and to see the owner of the hand. Hoseok smiled and used his finger to pat you on the head, telling you that you did well.

Yoongi however crossed his arms and playfully huffed, acknowledging your true bias. He got up and dramatically walked away. You climbed down from Hoseok’s hand and ran towards Yoongi, claiming that it wasn’t what it looked like. Hoseok, however, scooped you backwards into his hand and drew you in, shushing you, telling you that Yoongi will understand one day.

Jumping Spider Crochet Pattern

Hi!  I got a few asks wondering about a pattern for my jumping spider!  I made up the pattern myself, but it’s fairly simple and I’m kinda interested to share with others!  I used a 2.5 mm crochet hook and Red Heart Yarn in “Day Glow”, but I’m sure with a project like this people can be very creative with their choices!  If anyone uses this pattern, please link back to my page, don’t sell things you’ve made with this pattern, and also send me a picture!  I’d love to see what people do!


  • 6 sc in a magic circle
  • inc 6x to make 12 stitches
  • 1 sc, inc 6x to make 18 stitches
  • 2 sc, inc 6x to make 24 stitches
  • 3 sc, inc 6x to make 30 stitches

I had to taper the legs off at the end by doing some decreases, so they would all fit under the head as the cephalothorax - Spiders have such interesting anatomy!  

I then sewed on all the legs, and used a combination of stitching with yarn (to make the bend in the middle of the leg) and a hot glue gun (keeping the legs close to the head) to pose the legs.  (She looks like a dead spider here, don’t fret, little cutie!)

And that’s it!  I guess if someone tries this and comes up with questions, feel free to ask me!  I wrote this more for people who are familiar with crocheting amigurumis, but there are lots of resources out there for beginners!

I’m pretty pleased with how this spider turned out - I think it’s a good combination of real spider anatomy and “cute-ification” - to be fair though, jumping spiders are just so cute in general!  I hope this results in more cute crocheted spiders in the world!

Day 4 - Sweaters / Music

New boyfriends Keith and Lance exchange gifts. Non-space AU.

-Lance’s house-

Christmas carols play softly from the radio in the background. Lance is sat on the floor, his back resting against the couch. His cat, Blue, snoozes next to his thigh. In his hands he holds knitting needles. Spools of yarn in garish primary colors lay spilling on his legs. He hums softly along with the music.

-Keith’s apartment-

Keith is sat hunched at his computer, resting his chin in one hand thoughtfully. His other hand clicks about furiously. His cat, Red, paws along in the space between the monitor and the keyboard. He’s making a mixtape. Well it’s a CD, which itself is vintage as hell. The only reason he isn’t actually using a cassette tape is that he doesn’t think Lance actually owns a cassette player. Or if anyone besides Keith does, for that matter.

Lance is really into cheesy pop songs. Keith normally hates them, and in turn Lance hates the stuff Keith is into. But tomorrow will be their first Christmas together, as in after they’ve started dating, and Keith can’t think of a more apt present for his cheesy boyfriend than a compilation of cheesy classic romantic holiday numbers that also serve to express how Keith feels about Lance. Or whatever. Hunk helped him think of it okay. He may or may not be blushing as he thinks of songs to include, and about the exact nature of his feelings.

It’s Lance, so of course the first song Keith puts on the CD for his giant memelord boyfriend is “Never Gonna Give You Up.” But the rest of it is a genuine present, with some of Lance’s favorites like “All I want for Christmas is You.” As an ode to the days in which Lance was too oblivious to notice his pining, Keith adds “Last Christmas.”

-Lance’s house-

“Well go on. Open it!”

Hesitant, Keith tears open the sparkly red wrapping paper of the present Lance just shoved at him. He isn’t sure he wants to see what is either something so sappy he’ll blush uncontrollably, or a cringey joke. Of course because it’s Lance, it’s both. Keith pulls out an ugly Christmas sweater, except it’s not so ugly. It’s a pleasant red—not gaudy but not dull—with a standard snowflakes pattern on the sleeves and “dat boi” written on the front in huge white letters. Somehow Lance has managed to turn the romantic gesture of knitting him a sweater into a meme. Keith rolls his eyes, refusing to admit he’s impressed.

Lance reaches behind him and pulls out another sweater. This one has the same sleeve pattern but it’s blue and says “oh shit waddup” in similar white lettering on the front. “So we’re matching,” he explains, wiggling his eyebrows. He pulls on the sweater and winks at Keith.

“Oh my god you’re so embarrassing,” Keith groans, but a laugh escapes him. He pulls the sweater over his head and hands Lance the CD, a bow taped to the cover.

Lance’s eyes widen, and his lips turn into a grin. “You made me a mixtape?” He jumps up and puts the CD into his laptop, hitting play. The instant he realizes he’s been rickrolled, he whirls around. “Keith!” he cries, indignant.

Keith laughs heartily; this was worth it. “Just hit next,” he relents. Lance does, and Mariah Carey’s soulful vocals fill the room.

“Aww, babe,” Lance smiles softly. He walks over and pulls Keith to his feet. “You can’t not dance with me.” He guides Keith’s hand to his shoulder and puts his own hand on Keith’s waist. He intertwines the fingers of their free hands and begins to sway in place. Keith starts to protest, something about not knowing how to dance. Lance silences him with a kiss, slow and deep. By the time they pull apart, Keith is following Lance’ lead.

“Merry Christmas,” Keith whispers into the space between them.

“Merry Christmas, Keith.”

The song changes. They keep dancing.
