a wonder working stone

anonymous asked:

K I have a question. I'm a white person, and I work in customer service. More than a few times now, other white people will like...i guess see my whiteness and think ill agree with them, and start being racist. Ive heard people say some awful things. HOW do I tell them to stop but also not lose my job? Any advice plleeeeeaaaaseee I know im white and i have racist tendencies sometimes becauz thats how I was brought up, but I really do try, and call out friends and famoly when I hear it. But...?

i’m gonna assume that you don’t have the power to kick them out of the store or something. in case you do - do it. as loud as possible. make sure everyone can hear why you’re kicking them out. make a scene. ;)

let’s say you don’t have that power and they look at you expecting you to agree with them or ask you something like “haha am i right?” it’s important not to validate their racism in any way. i know it’s hard but try not to laugh because you’re nervous or uncomfortable, instead:

1. simply reply with “no” or if you need something more polite “i’m sorry, but i don’t think it’s funny” as expressionless as possible.
2. a silent, stone-faced glare works wonders. enjoy the look on their face as their stupid smirk slowly fades because they realize you’re not having it.

i hope this helps. good luck!

Birdie's Sleep Crystal Spell

This is a simple spell I’ve been doing every night to give me interesting dreams and a restful sleep. It works wonders!

You will need:

⭐️ an amethyst crystal/any crystal or stone you associate with sleep and restfulness

⭐️ a window that shows the sky

Turn all the lights off in your room and hold the crystal up to the window. Look at the sky and your crystal and ask your intent either out loud or mentally, such as “give me a sweet and restful sleep” or “give me fun dreams”.

When you feel that your crystal has been charged with that intent, seal the spell by kissing the crystal and go to bed. Place the crystal under your pillow for your night to be as you asked of it!

Sweet dreams!

Let's Try A Spell: Sunshine

This is a super simple spell that I have done for months now, and it might seem like a ‘Well Duh!“ kind of method, but it’s worked wonders for me just as a small stepping-stone kind of spell, especially when I’m feeling blue.

Indy’s Light-Bath For Dark Moments Spell

What You will Need:

  • The Sun (Or The Moon if you’re sensitive, any kind of light source you feel charges you up will do)
  • Yourself
  • An Outside Area or A Quiet Place
  • Ten minutes
  • Water

How this works:

Step outside or into your comfy spot, and soak up rays. That’s it. How long has it been since you’ve taken time to bathe in the sunlight? In the moonlight? If you have trouble going outside for any reason, open up those windows and let the light pool onto your floor with a comfy blanket and warm up your bones. If you are sensitive to UV rays or just can’t do natural light in the present moment, take a night-light, a candle, any source of light that makes you feel happy to be in and keep it on (Though you won’t want to keep a candle on for more than a half an hour at best if you want more than ten minutes). You can do anything you want from here while you’re bathing in that light. You can put on some music, read a book, just take that period of time however small or large to really soak up the warmth, feel it sinking into the roots of your hair, the softness of your skin, all the way down to your bones. Even take time to notice how you look in the light, because I bet you look gorgeous.

Be mindful of the way the light makes you feel, as you relax and take this time for yourself. If you want a formal incantation you can think or say something like:

"What once was cold is bright,

What once was dull is light,

I am warm, I am right,

I am as strong as this beam of light”

The only thing that’s important here is that you let yourself really take in this time for yourself. That’s all you need to do. After you’re done warming up, be sure to hydrate or at least eat something.

Why I chose my components:

Honestly? This one is due to personal experience. I struggle some days with feeling happy and sometimes I just feel so low that I forget I have a natural source of happiness right outside my door. I’m not going to advertise or try to sell you on the idea that the sun is the best anti-depressant there is. It isn’t, but sometimes the right kind of weather can do wonders for a blue mood.

A quick Google search can tell you things about the benefits of sunlight such as “…the brain produces more of the mood-lifting chemical serotonin than on darker days.” Or even, “…exposure to sunlight during the day increases the natural production of melatonin at night.” (This I actually didn’t know, but it explains why after sunbathing for any small amount of time I feel so content I want to take a cat-nap)

Taking a step outside is a wonderful kind of magic in itself, where you really just take in the natural ebb and flow of things for a few brief moments of time.

I know some days I feel like I’ve been stuck inside for what seems like forever, and that breath of fresh air or that patch of sunlight just really does the trick for a little bit when I’m feeling down. This spell isn’t written to be a cure-all-end-all for the seriously blue moments, but sometimes it’s a good start to feeling a little better and working up the energy you need to get on with the bigger projects, metaphysically or physically. It’s a good bonding moment with the Universe and with yourself.

Basil is more commonly referred to as witches herb or sweet basil in most books. It is one of the most universal and, argumentatively, most important herbs. In most things you come across, it’ll be mentioned or needed. Its definitely a good starting point for a garden or a herbal collection. Since it can be used in teas and foods, its uses are endless.

The planet associated with Basil is Mars, and it’s considered masculine.

Deities it represents:

  • Vishnu ~ Supreme god of hinduism.
  • Erzulie (Ezili) ~ Goddess of love and beauty in voodoo and is often seen in places such as Haiti and New Orleans.

  • Love ~ In Italy, pot of basil on a balcony means that a women ready for suitors and in Romania, an act of passing basil to a lover represents an engagement. The scent of fresh basil is also used to smooth tempers between lovers. Often it is added to most sachets and incenses regarding love, and is considered a natural love perfume.
  • Exorcism ~ Basil is used during exorcism by grinding (or burning it) into ash and put on forehead of the one being exorcised. It can also be put into the nasal cavities if the person being exorcised is going into comatose, bringing them back into consciousness.
  • Wealth ~ It can bring forth wealth if carried in pockets. You can also put the leaves in your register or above the store’s door, which will bring in customers.
  • Flying ~ Witches used to brew half a cup of basil juice before riding their broomstick. Basil can also aid in astral travel.
  • Protection ~ Basil leaves (or crushed basil) can be put into pockets and sachets for protection, or can be ingested. You can also place it underneath your pillow for good dreams.

Magical Uses:

Basil is great for cleansing baths before spells and rituals, and is extremely helpful during skyclad. You can also burn it to purify energies in a room or area.

Medicinal Uses:

  • Sharpens memory
  • Strengthens nerves
  • Removes phlegm from bronchial tubes
  • Strengthens stomach
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Fevers ~ Basil leaves mixed with 2 cups water, sugar, and milk will help bring down the temperature. Every 2 to 3 hours you can give the sick some sips of cold water. Works best for children. If taken over hours, it can cause profuse sweating (which is often a remedy for fevers).
  • Coughs ~ Basil is an important ingredient in cough syrups and can help with bronchitis. You can relieve cold and flu symptoms by chewing on the leaves.
  • Sore throat ~ Water boiled with basil leaves can be taken as tonic and can relieve symptoms.
  • Respiratory disorders ~ Boiling basil with honey and ginger is useful for asthma, bronchitis, and cold symptoms. For a rapid relief of influenza, boil basil with sea salt and water. Both combinations boiled in 2 quarts until half the water remains works wonders on respiratory problems.
  • Kidney stones ~ Basil can strengthen your kidneys. In cases of kidney stones, mix juice of basil and honey, and take daily over 6 months. This will expel them through the urinary tract
  • Heart problems ~ Basil can be used to strengthen those who are weak due to heart disease
  • reduce cholesterol
  • Children’s illnesses ~ Any pediatric complaints can be relieved slightly with basil juice.
  • Rashes ~ Rashes are reduced with a mixture of basil leaves and saffron. This brings them to surface quicker and helps relieve them in the process.
  • Stress ~ basil leaves can be used as anti-stress agent. 12 leaves a day reduces stress, purifies blood and prevents other common ailments.
  • mouth infections ~ Chewing a few leaves can cure infections and ulcers.
  • Insect bites ~ A teaspoon of basil juice is preventive of bites. Rubbing basil in any form on bites helps itching, along with the paste of basil root.
  • Skin disorders ~ Basil juice applied directly to the infected area is helpful with ringworm and other common ailments.
  • Teeth ~ Dry basil leaves mixed with mustard oil make a toothpaste that will counter bad breath and massage gums while helping with other teeth and gum related problems.
  • Headaches ~ Boil leaves in a quart of water and cook till half the water is gone. Take a couple of teaspoons over an hour with water. Paste of basil and sandalwood can be put on your head to relieve the headache.
  • Eye disorders ~ Basil juice is good for night blindness and eye soreness. Put black basil juice in your eyes at night to sooth and relieve these problems.

anonymous asked:

Do you know what are good beginner crystals and where I could get some? I saved some money I don't have too much but I think enough to buy a few starters. Any suggestions? Love your blog btw so helpful!!

Hello there ~☽♡☾

Try first looking for clear quartz, because it is a universal stone which can be programmed with any intent, and used as a replacement in spellwork for almost all other crystals and stones! In fact, quartz is so powerful for transmitting energy, many electronic devices include chips of the stuff ~ (I also recommend getting multiple points of quartz; especially since it’s the cheapest stone, and usually available for less in bulk)

After clear quartz, I recommend any of the following:

  • Amethyst
  • Rose & Smokey Quartz
  • Carnelian
  • Lapis Lazuli
  • Selenite
  • Labradorite
  • Citrine
  • Tiger’s Eye
  • Hematite
  • Jasper
  • Agate

You can also find information on the properties of crystals in this online Crystal Grimoire, which I use regularly! Hope this helps, and I wish you the best of luck with acquiring and beginning your work with crystals and stones. Have a wonderful day ~

I finally saw this special subbed and I still really like the interactions between Manon and Alan, Manon’s just a prodding, klutzy girl who’s up for adventure and Alan’s just this guy who comes off as scary that she has no problem following and chatting with. I feel like they work perfectly well as foils to one another in that sense. She praises him but ends up indirectly insulting him in the process in an amusing way and he of course acts sarcastic to her. They bounce off each other pretty well and I can see him developing into a more open person or us getting to see more layers to him thanks to Manon traveling with him and vice versa I could see Manon herself maturing after the conversations the two had throughout the episode.

She continuously brings up the fact that she wants to be able to Mega Evolve her Pokemon too and battle Alan and defeat him. That’s one of her goals, to Mega Evolve her Pokemon. I have a theory Chespin’s final form, Chesnaught, will receive a Mega Evolution in the XY sequel(s), that or Manon will end up with Bulbasaur or her own Charmander that she can Mega Evolve in the future. It would make sense imo given we haven’t seen Mega Venusaur under anyone’s control and Manon rocks the whole Grass motif name, design and team thus far but at the same time I feel it would be interesting if she got her own Charizard and debuted the Y transformation, it would complement Alan’s own Charizard well. Other than those two I can really see anything else, I suppose if I could pick something over those two it would be Mega Ampharos who turns into a Dragon-type and Alan constantly comments that his Charizard is a Dragon-type so it’d be a nice comparison in that vein.

Other than that Manon was just as entertaining to me as in the raw, her lines were great, she was cute and Alan’s exposition and back story being understandable endears me to him a bit more and makes me understand his character more in a way. I do hope in this end of this Manon and Alan do have a Mega Evolution battle with Manon being victorious to show her growth in learning Mega Evolution or at least tie. We know she and Alan are hunting for Mega Stones together, so I wonder how that’ll work? Will they fight over who can have them? Will they give Mega Stones to each other? Will they share the Mega Stones with each other? Not to mention what of Lysandre who was shown at the end and seemed to be spying on Alan through the Holocaster like he does in-game via Malva? Can’t wait to see how this unfolds.

I also do hope one of Manon’s Pokemon is evolved by the next special. I am looking forward to the next act in this mini-series, I hope we get more expansion on Alan and more depth to his character. Let’s also see him making more gradual progress in his goal and fighting another Mega Pokemon in a longer battle and with some strategy behind it.

More Manon please, with an awesome traveling companion like her, he can’t fail. ;)

Jade provides clarity, modesty, courage, justice and wisdom. Jade brings prosperity and abundance. It is the stone of peace, bringing serenity to the mind by releasing negative thoughts. A stone of balance and healing, it alleviates anxiety and fear based emotions. Assists in seeing the truth in all situations. Place under your pillow to aid in dream recall. Assists in the creation of your dreams into reality. Helps you to put things into perspective, remain calm under pressure and detach yourself from surrounding drama.

When making an important business decision, use the prosperous energies of jade by holding it while contemplating your course of action. Jade is also a protective stone, guarding against accidents and misfortune. Place a piece of jade between two purple candles and let the candles burn for a short while. Then carry the jade with you as a protection amulet.

A butterfly carved from jade holds a special romantic significance. Ancient Chinese legend tells of a youth who wandered into the garden of a wealthy mandarin in pursuit of a multi-colored butterfly. Instead of being punished for trespassing, his visit led to marriage with the mandarin’s daughter.

Today, a jade butterfly symbolizes successful love.
