a thing called love

I don’t get it

Why is everyone not hoping for the paladins to be adults? Who gets hurt by that, as opposed to all the people who get hate for not agreeing with other people’s headcanons?

It takes care of the child soldiers thing, which is really bugging me tbh and i don’t know why you’d want child soldiers. It also means more people can ship what they like without getting called disgusting things; more creativity, more love all around, all that good stuff.

So why, oh why are people so desperate to prove that they’re underage? To be the morally superior ones? So they don’t have to backtrack with all the hate and exclusion and frankly, bullying that’s been going on? So they don’t have to apologise? To admit they’re wrong?

Or maybe they just want those ships to be ‘disqualified’ and the shippers run out of the fandom.

Look, I won’t say I’m not biased. I like Sheith and Kallura and generally think there’s nothing wrong with them. But even if I didn’t, even if I didn’t, I wouldn’t want them to be underage, because, well firstly, the child soldiers thing, and secondly, it means that more people are free to live and ship how and what they like.

I need to know, bc that’s what makes no sense to me out of the whole debacle. We should be aiming for more people to be happy, not less. That’s the mentality I‘ve always had, and I’ve stood by it to the best of my ability.

That’s what we ordinarily would be aiming for, right? No child soldiers, more love, characters of legal age loving and dating who they wish…

(The official info says late teens which, regardless of your own interpretation, generally means 17-19.)

The only times people have been trying to prove a character is underage is in ship wars. Ship wars that have made people suffer, fans, cast and creators alike, and here we’ve crossed that line a while ago. As a general rule, some don’t like the ship and want to prove that everyone is disgusting for shipping it because it’s rival with theirs (usually rival anyway).

And this is why I say that the whole age discourse is a glorified ship war and should be taken with several grains of salt.

So what's the story behind the nicknames the Mane cast has, anyways? I can take a reasonable guess for some, but ones like "The Laughter" confound me as to how they came to be.

-“The Laughter” is what Pinkie is called for two things: the first is because she obviously loves to laugh, and can usually find some form of joy regardless of what’s happening. The second reason is that her “calling card” or what she leaves behind after she hacks someone is a simple smiley face. This one:

It’s kinda similar to the icon of The Laughing Man from Ghost in the Shell, if you’ve ever seen that show/movie.

-“The Queen” is Rarity’s primary nickname because she’s at the top of the organized crime world, and a lot of the times she calls her syndicate “The Kingdom”, not just the “Boutique”. She also likes to be treated like a queen sometimes, so some of the respectful names some of her associates/members call her is “your highness” or “your majesty”. Surprisingly, this isn’t a trend she herself started, but she certainly isn’t putting a stop to it. The second one, “Generosity”, is usually what the average citizen call her because she’s probably the most generous of the Underworld at the current moment. Luna’s syndicate is close, but Rarity’s takes the cake for sure.

-”The Spark” is what some call Twilight because she tends to be able to spark the hope the population may have otherwise lost in the police organization. She, and others like her, are a beacon of what could be if the government wasn’t so damned selfish and corrupt as it currently is. It’s a name that many in the Underground know with disdain. Rarity likes to call her “Magic”, for her prowess in magic, for her intelligence, for her competence, for her courage, and for, and I qoute, “being magic between the sheets”. It embarrasses Twilight to no end.

-”The Farmer” for Applejack is… well, it’s pretty straightforward and probably the easiest to guess, but it’s also because of her ability to essentially “farm” the black market for the most profit for her family. She’s also called “Honest Apple” for her overall honesty with whomever makes dealings with her, which is what makes her pretty popular; she’s transparent for the most part to her clients, and she rarely ever tells a lie… or at the very least, she’s very convincing that she doesn’t lie when she needs to be. I’d image Applejack mastering the art of seeming like she’s terrible at telling lies when in reality she’s excellent at it, but she values honesty over her skill at lying any day. Sadly, it’s just a skill that’s needed for this sort of business.

-”The Kind Doctor” is also pretty straight forward. Fluttershy is becoming one of the go-to medical personnel in Rarity’s syndicate, and she’s becoming more popular to due to her bedside manner. She treats them like a person regardless of their occupation, and a lot of the criminals in Rarity’s syndicate find that very refreshing and therapeutic, and they appreciate her for it. Many of the members of the Boutique are fiercely protective of her. If there’s one doctor you shouldn’t target for your own good, it’s Shy.

The RainbBoom” is Rainbow Dash’s nickname because of how loud and boisterous she is, and just how ironic it is that her establishment of assassins main niche is quick, quiet, and clean. Rainbow becomes exactly that when performing hits; she’s quick, she’s quiet, and she’s clean about it, a 180 to the usual way she acts. She’s also “Generosity’s Loyalty” because she was with Rarity ever since the unicorn mare started building her kingdom in the Underworld, and she cannot, and will not be swayed to betray her. Many have tried to bribe her into it. None of them survived. It’s now a general rule among the criminal world not  to try and bribe Rainbow Dash in an attempt to overthrow Rarity, lest you’re asking for a death wish.

I think I created a monster...

So I wanted to show my youngest sister my Sylveon to show her one of my favourite Pokemon (after I showed her the Mimikyu video). He is called Mr Flesh Bows; and I love him.

The thing is I showed her in the mini game, where you can pet him, feed him and play with him etc. Which of course she wanted a go. Which is awesome, slippery gate way to hell and all…

So I thought I would continue this slippery slope, by showing her how to find and catch Pokemon…

But then she was like MURDER!! I am like no, they are just sleeping in the grass. She is just like, she doesn’t want to catch them she just wanted to beat them all up… Mocking them passionately as she is knocking out all the wild Pokemon.

Winnie-the-Pooh: Words of Wisdom

Our favorite yellow bear is celebrating his 90th birthday.  In his honor, here are some of our favorite quotes from the original Winnie-the-Pooh stories and from the brand-new book The Best Bear in All the World.

“Some people care too much. I think it’s called love.”

“The things that make me different are the things that make me.”

“I was trying to think of something nicer than a summer tea party,” said Pooh. “But I can’t because there isn’t anything nicer.”

“A day without a friend is like a pot without a single drop of honey left inside.”

“Well, I like new friends because you never quite know what they’ll do next. But I like old friends, too, because, however long you’ve known them, you are always discovering things that you didn’t know before.”

“You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”

I like you very much, (I’ve) been loving (you) for 3 years. I’ve done everything, changed myself in every aspects because of you. Applied for a classical dancer club, played a stage drama, be a drum major, be better at studying, it’s for you. But I know for now that the thing i should do the most and should have done since a long time ago…is telling you straightly that….I love you.

I hope you guys all enjoyed the new episode! Here’s the full painting I did to celebrate the season premiere, officially commissioned by the Doctor Who: Earth Conquest documentary!

I had the amazing opportunity to present this artwork to Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman, and Steven Moffat themselves, so this piece really means a lot to me. (Full story on that meeting here!)

I wrote your name in the sky
but the wind blew it away.

I wrote your name in the sand
but the waves washed it away.

I wrote your name in my heart
and forever it will stay.

I look the way I look. As you get older, you don’t care that much. I am who I am. The military had something to do with that, because you get torn down so much, you grow thick skin. I know I look odd. I never think I look cool! [Laughs].
Because of what I do, the way I look is on the forefront, but you can either let it limit you and go down the rabbit hole of, “Oh God, why don’t I look like that?” or use it to fuel you, like, “What’s wrong with being different?”
